This is a stunning property with private villas in a gorgeous setting within view of the iconic heritage monument , Borobudur which is also only 10 min. Upon checking in you are invited to a WhatsApp group that allows you to make any requests including shuttle service and bookings of excursions. Upon landing I had to make dinner reservations for 40 people the next day and they didn’t even bat an eye. They simply provided me with options and the booking was made within the hour. The villas are large, and beautiful and as my sister mentioned provided one of the best sleep iour entire journey. Indulge yourself and stay here

Simply amazing!

The hotel is conveniently near the Borobudur temple and well served by amazing restaurants such as The Stupa and Patio Colonial. The room we had was spacious and comfortable, and we look forward to the daily afternoon sweet treats. But what really made us so impressed was the faithful service of the staff. We will miss this lovely hotel!

We liked the Colonial architecture, and the size of our rooms was very spacious. Great views of the rice fields, its lush greenery landscapes. The meals were delicious, especially the breakfast buffet. Nice variety for us. Also the staff were very welcoming and it had a cozy atmosphere throughout the hotel.

Excellence from start to finish. This resort has an old school classiness that is hard to find these days. The level of service is outstanding. One of the best resort breakfasts we've had with a wide variety of choices from Western to Asian to Indonesian. Special thanks to Executive Assistant Manager, Angga Ramadhan, for his gracious hospitality during our visit. We will always fondly remember our stay at Plataran Heritage Borobudur Hotel.

We spent 2 nights at the Plataran Heritage Borobudur Hotel and loved it! It was a convenient place to stay for a morning Borobudur Temple tour (only ~15 min to the temple by Grab taxi). The entire property was lovely - from the spacious rooms to the beautiful gardens surrounding it. Staff were very welcoming and always helpful when we had questions. Overall, I'd highly recommend it!

There was no health protocol in the hotel at all. They did not ask us to check in with Peduli Lindungi and did not check the temperature of the visitors. The brekfast place was so crowded with no social distancing at all. The tables and chairs are so dirty. The bed in the room was not comfortable, the pillow and blanket was not properly done. It is like staying in the 2-3 star hotel. I would say it is overprice for that kind of room and service.

Quiet and Relax

We booked a hotel car to pick us up from JOG airport and the driver managed to come early. We got the same driver when we booked the car to Borobudur and he was willing to wait for us until we finished the sunrise tour. Since it was low-season and the room was ready, we could get the room before the check-in time. The staff all were polite and friendly. They tried to have a small talk with the guests. The food served during breakfast and afternoon tea was delicious especially the Indonesian food and snacks. The spa was recommended. The therapists did a good job on the massage. We were the last guests but they were not rushing even though it passed their closing time. The hotel surroundings were mountains and paddy fields. The atmosphere was quiet, calm and peaceful. As a resort hotel, you can't get away with mosquitoes, ants and other insects. As long as you keep the balcony door closed, no mosquitoes will come into your room. We did not find any mosquitoes and ants in our room. We have no complaint about it. Overall, we were very satisfied with all the service and facilities provided. We will consider to stay here again when we have a chance to come back.

The reception staff Diwan was rude during check out. He asked whether we used any item from minibar. Our answer was “no”. Apparently he did not trust our words but enquires over walkie talkie from housekeeping right in front of us, which was unusual and unexpected. Either you take your customers words or you verify yourself. Happened to us first time.

I recently stayed at Plataran Heritage Borobudur for 3 nights and it was the best hotel experience I had in a long time. The service was exceptional. The staff went out their way to ensure that my stay was enjoyable. I could tell that they genuinely care about their guests. The room was very clean, bright and airy. The bed was very comfortable and I slept very well during my stay. I’m a light sleeper and rarely sleep well in hotels. The hotel is a short drive to the Borobudur temple and they provide free transportation to the temple 3 times a day. They can take you to a different entrance to the main entrance which allows you to avoid the crowds at the main entrance and it is a shorter walk to the temple than from the main entrance. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again in the future.

Our visit got off to a rocky start when we were stranded at the airport for 1.5 hrs waiting for our arranged transfer. It was difficult to contact the hotel. Finally a worker at customer service was able to contact them and due to a ‘miscommunication’ they had not sent a driver to pick us up.
However, they quickly arranged for
a reliable taxi to pick us up. When we arrived at the hotel, the manager apologized and did not make us pay for the transfer. This is my only complaint! For the rest of our stay the entire hotel was the most friendly, most courteous, and most helpful I’ve come across in my years of travel. The hotel and room was sparkling clean. The rooftop bar serving snacks and drinks daily at tea time was great. The breakfast selection was plentiful with a variety of food choices. We did a couple excursions through the hotel, which we thoroughly enjoyed, including renting bicycles for the afternoon. The manager went out of his way to make sure we were happy. Again, we got off to a rocky start, but I wouldn’t hesitate staying here again. It is evident the hotel staff pride themselves on sincerely pleasing their customers.

Everyone throughout the hotel's operations was very gracious and helpful; breakfast was varied - we especially liked the herbal drinks (with the explanations of each beside). The Stupa Restaurant was adequate, and the view across the rice paddy quite lovely. In general the location was good; the free shuttle to and from the temple entrance was very convenient. Beautiful decor in the lobby, hallways and room. It would have been absolutely perfect if they had organised something for our wedding anniversary, which coincided with our stay (I had noted this in the booking, but did not make a subsequent reminder when we arrived). This stay has made me curious about other Plataran properties. Many thanks!

The hotel is located in a quiet and peaceful area in the rice fields near the Borobudur. It is built in a beautiful colonial style and still looks new. Our room was beautifully decorated. Nice bathroom and really clean. Breakfast was great, a lot of choices. We had dinner and a few drinks in the bar on the 5th floor. A bit expensive but tasty. Nice atmosphere. We had a quick check in and check out. Staff throughout the hotel was friendly. Both at the reception and restaurant we were asked about our experience and they were open to receive comments (which we did not have). Would definitely recommend this place.

We LOVED this hotel. The hotel is beautiful and very clean, rooms were large and had a nice view of the pool. The hotel had complimentary tea time in the afternoon and a great buffet breakfast. I was also very happy with the deep tissue massage I got at the spa. The hotel is a 10 minute drive from Borobudor and the staff will arrange drop offs or you can call a Grab/Go-Jek.

All of the employees we met were wonderful and above and beyond. I especially recommend the 7am neighborhood walking tour. The staff helped us to rent bikes and even opened up the gym early for us.

Ditching our usual repertoire of the beaches and islands, we headed for the mountains. Plataran Heritage is old world meets new world charm. Classical Indonesian muted wood styles with some modern marbled and brass touches. The hotel is tastefully decorated with quaint antique pieces. Every corner you go, it drips with style and class and feels like a step back in time as the still backdrop of the mountain makes it postcard beautiful. Which is the view we drink in at our room. The mountain watches over us. Everywhere you look is the lolling green. There’s even a petting zoo at the back where you can feed deers, watch peacocks strut their stuff. Even a cocky male turkey trying to win the likes of the only damsel in that zoo

Well-maintained hotel located about 10-15 minutes from Borobudur, in a rural village area. Rooms we booked were very comfortable and as well-appointed as any five-star property. Complementary evening reception at the rooftop bar was a nice touch and a peaceful place to relax. Unfortunately, my group didn't sleep well due to the lengthy loudspeaker monologue from the local mosque that began around 5am on the Sunday morning we were there. This wasn't just the typical Muslim call to prayer chant, but a spoken sermon that went on for more than fifteen minutes and was so loud that I thought at first that an inconsiderate hotel guest was talking in the corridor right outside my room. I know this is Indonesia, that some people might actually enjoy this touch of local culture and flavor, but I've learned this lesson and will stay elsewhere (if possible) if I ever go back.

My friend and I stayed a night at the hotel for our Borobudur overnight trip. The Borobudur sunrise is a must schedule. And the other activities the hotel offers (free or with reasonable extra charge) are wonderful surprises:) spa/batik/horse carriage village tour etc, just talk to the staff and pick up what u love to do, it will leave you with lifelong unique memory.
And, many thanks to Mario and the team who organised to post our very own batik piece (they take an extra day to dye and dry) to Australia! You guys are amazing and thanks for always willing to go extra miles for the service. It's a wonderful time staying at your place and enjoy everything Borobudur offers.

We stayed for two nights and it was amazing. Gorgeous setting. Lovely room which they kindly upgraded us to! The pool was great. Breakfast delicious and so much choice. There is a complimentary afternoon tea included which is very nice. We ate at Patio both nights and were very impressed with the service and food. The hotel provides a shuttle to the other hotel site for this restaurant. It was my partners birthday whilst we were staying there, they picked this up from the passports, and presented him with a surprise cake at breakfast! Despite a miscommunication where our taxi was almost 30 minutes late to take us to sunrise, this hotel still deserves 5* due to how professionally they dealt with the situation. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful hotel let down by substandard service

This is a beautiful hotel with lovely views, and food at the Stupa restaurant is really good. Staff are friendly and pleasant, but service is shockingly lackadaisical. I would show up at the Stupa restaurantwaiting to be shown a table but the waiters would bustle around ignoring me, and the 2 chaps sitting at the counters do not appear to notice. It would take about 10 minutes attempting to flag someone’s attention before anybody would notice me. A number of the empty tables were Reserved and they did not have a seat for me. When I asked to say what would be a better time to come back for a table, the waitress just shrugged, smiled and said she did not know. At dinner, they did find me a table as I went later, but still took about 10 minutes before anybody came up to attend to me. I had booked a sunrise trip to Borobudur @ 4:30 am the next morning. When I turned up just before 4:30am, I was asked to wait 5 minutes. When I checked again @ 4:40 am, I was told they did not have a car, and was asked if I would be ok to get my ride on a motorcycle. I was not happy but I was only in Borobudur for a day. The manager apologized and did not charge me for the return transportation. An appropriate courtesy gesture but nevertheless I was very underwhelmed by the service of what I had assumed was an upmarket hotel. Checkout was very slow - I waited 10 minutes for the person ahead of me to be processed, and mine was a 10 minute process as well.

If you find yourself lucky enough to spend time in Borobudur, you could give yourself a wonderful present by booking a stay at Plataran Heritage Borobudur Hotel. It has an undeniable grandeur about it, which greets you as soon as you enter the spacious lobby or your spacious room. The breakfast buffet is sumptuous and abundant. The hotel has been open less than a year but should earn an excellent reputation and following by virtue of its very high standards of comfort and service for its guess. It is also outstanding value for the quality of the property and service. We would not hesitate to book a return stay.

My 3 nites stay was great with friendly and helpful staff . The food in their two restaurants were tasty two.
One improvement remark - add an extension with foldable glass panel at the bathtub existing glass panel to prevent water splashing on to the tiled flooring. Wet flooring is slippery and dangerous.

2nd improvement remark .. extend the shelter of the bar to the side walkway to keep dry ( 5th level rooftop bar) without having to use umbrellas during rainy season.

Very quiet & scenic area near Borobudur.

Overall great stay at the hotel. Very friendly & welcoming staff. If you really want to get away from it all and enjoy the luscious greenery of the mountains overlooking the paddy fields, this is the place. The hotel has a feel of colonial days gone without compromising on the luxurious modern hotels. Breakfast is a good spread of local & western food.

Once you come back from a day of sightseeing it was not so easy to get out to look for dinner outside. There are no taxis operating in the village but you can book the hotel transport to take you to near by restaurants - limited choices but there are a couple. Else you can enjoy dinner at the hotel (hotel prices but pretty tasty).

A really nice hotel. Very new with a great look and style.
The room is a nice size. The pool area nice, very empty when we were there.
Both restaurants are nice but not cheap considering most other places. A large beer is normally about 30000 here it's 95000. Yet I will say the food was nicer than other hotels/villas.
The breakfast has a great buffet selection.
The location is great for the temple. It's quite a walk and no taxis about. The hotels taxi is ideal but very very expensive for what it is. 75000 one way or 100000 if you want to go for sunrise. A 175000 trip for a 3 min drive each way. The 2 hour drive from the airport was only 250000.
The spa was poor, the girlfriend had a pedicure but they had no stone to scrub, so basically only had her nails painted.
Overall it was a nice stay and a lovely hotel but they really can charge what they want with food and taxis as there is no alternative, so they do.

Luxury in the rice fields

This place was a perfect base to explore Borobudur temple. Location is spot on, with only a 10 minute drive from the temple and situated in beautiful surrounding scenery. There is a nearly mosque, but this didn't wake us up in the early hours - the hotel considerately supply ear plugs. There isn't any convienince stores or restuarants (other than those attached to the hotel) in the surrounding area.
The service was exceptional from airport pickup (with chilled cans of coca cola on arrival for us), to housekeeping, front desk, restaurant and management staff. We were celebrating a special occasion, and the staff then arranged for rose petals and swan towels on our bed for arrival. Very sweet. All staff were wonderful, poilte, personalable and friendly. They did everything and more to make sure we had the best possible stay.
As a new hotel (opened 3 months ago), everything was new and beautifully decorated. The rooms were well designed and the bed and pillows were so comfortable! View from the room was overlooking the pool and palm trees beyond.
Pool was great - much appreciated to cool off from the heat.
Hotel has 2 restaurants and a rooftop bar on site (happy hour 4pm-7pm)
Overall, an amazing stay. Thank you!

Best hotel for Borobudur stupa visit

Saw this brand new hotel near Borobudur on the Expedia site and wondered whether we should stay there. Our party consisted of me and my two teenage daughters and we planned to stay for two nights. Expedia showed me a great deal for two rooms and so I decided to take a chance. I was very impressed with this very modern hotel, its excellent facilities, fantastic rooms, and amazing, dedicated service. The front office staff, the restaurant staff (at all three restaurants), the chef, the shuttle driver (Andi), and the Front Office Manager (Pak Hendra) were all extremely gracious and helpful. We got excellent value out of our stay and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Borobudur!

Beautiful, new hotel

Beautiful, reasonably priced hotel with good Indonesien restaurant. Great service in reception and restaurant. Location excellent for sightseeing around the Borobudur area
