Ocean view was excellent. Room was perfect and cleaned daily. Only complaint was a large group there on a business trip locked up all of the pool side cabanas for days, and left most of them empty, most days. Seems there should be an occupancy rule or a limit to the number of cabanas that can be locked up…or limit the number of days in a row.

The resort is amazing. They have a club that you could join for $150 per person per day that provides breakfast lunch dinner and snacks at night time alcohol is free and available at all times amazing staff. Their incredible care is taken to make their guests feel really welcome. Remainder of the resort is amazing. They no longer rent mountain bikes, but they do have wonderful mountain biking trails that are great for hiking. They have a wonderful stable and fantastic horses to ride. Highly recommend this resort.

Really happy with our stay, although found some of the staff in the sunset bar to be a little rude and unhelpful. I also had to call housekeeping regularly to come and clean the room as this was done. The pools said they were heated and they were still cold, which was disappointing given it was their winter.

For the price, they could improve the customer care slightly.

Property is in a great location and beautiful views. Villa was roomy and nice.
Most of the food/drink places didn’t open till after 11:30 AM, which is late for Hawaii. Especially on the hot beach.
They don’t keep the pools clean. A resort this nice and price tier should clean the pools better, and keep clean throughout day. Beach chairs and umbrellas could use updating. There was sharp flaking paint and rust on the lounge chairs. Usually properties similar to this like the Waldorf or Four Seasons have staff that keep the property and beach cleaner. I think it’s more comparable to a Hyatt, not as nice as the Omni resorts or above.

Our stay at The Ritz-Carlton O‘ahu, Turtle Bay was absolutely incredible! The moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm aloha and exceptional service — every member of the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and cared for.

The views from the resort are simply breathtaking — endless ocean, lush greenery, and stunning sunsets that feel straight out of a postcard. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, and perfectly clean, with elegant touches and a serene atmosphere that made it hard to leave.

The entire resort has such a peaceful, relaxing vibe, surrounded by nature and the sound of the waves. It’s the perfect place to unwind, recharge, and enjoy the beauty of O‘ahu’s North Shore.

We love Turtle Bay so much and were a little worried when Ritz-Carlton took over that it would lose some of what makes it so special, but we were happy to find that the friendly staff we’ve enjoyed in the past were still there. The rooms were well kept, and the pool area remains as amazing as ever.

The only downside was one of the retail shops. It used to have a great selection of Turtle Bay-specific apparel, but now it mainly features generic Ritz-Carlton merchandise, with only a small line that includes the Turtle Bay name. My advice to Ritz-Carlton: bring back more of the iconic Turtle Bay sea turtle logo. Guests want to purchase merchandise that feels local and unique, not something they can find at any Ritz property. Lean into what makes Turtle Bay special.

While the property itself is beautiful, my overall experience did not meet expectations, particularly given the price point. The resort felt overpriced for the value offered. There were relatively few organized events and activities, and breakfast was surprisingly expensive compared to similar luxury properties.

Service was also an area of concern. Staff were not especially helpful in guiding guests through the resort’s events or amenities. Information was unclear, and I often felt expected to “figure it out” on my own. On multiple occasions, calls to the concierge went unanswered, leaving me to walk to the front desk just to get assistance.

Considering the resort’s remote location—over an hour from the airport—paired with the high nightly rates, lack of service consistency, and limited programming, I cannot recommend this property. For the same cost, there are other resorts in Hawai‘i that offer a more seamless and welcoming guest experience.

The North Shore is a place like no other and the Ritz Carlton, Turtle Bay is nestled in the most perfect location for you to enjoy the most extraordinary views, immerse yourself in the island culture, and live the Aloha values. The hotel's amenities are endless and each day that you are there, you receive a text with the daily recommended activities. You are surrounded by the Aloha spirit in every area that you find yourself within the hotel grounds. Within driving distance you have the most amazing beaches (Sunset Beach, Shark's Cove, Three Tables, Waimea Bay Beach, Laniakea Beach), the Waimea Valley Waterfall, and the exquisite little town of Hale'iwa. Be sure to visit Saylor's for coffee, right next to Hale'iwa Bowls, the famous Matsumoto Shaved Ice, and the delicious Banzai Sushi Bar. Definitely very difficult not to fall in love with this place. You've been warned.

Beautiful resort, we enjoyed our time there. Reason for 4 stars is because of the food and everything being overpriced. Bed pillows could have been better. Roy’s is the best restaurant there- the other places did not have great food and it’s very expensive. If you’re going to gouge on pricing - at least make the food taste good. Sunscreen that costs $10 at home was $40 in the gift shop. I get that resorts charge a higher price- but 4xs the amount is just gross. It does affect your stay when everything is so overpriced.

My stay at The Ritz Carlton O’ahu, Turtle Bay exceeded all my expectations! I arrived early and was anticipating needing to wait a bit to check-in to my room, but to my delight, my room was ready AND I received a free room upgrade to ocean view. I almost fainted when I got to my room and saw the view I had from my lanai! All of the staff was warm, welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable about the island and activities. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that me and my family had the most perfect experience.

The only thing I made note of is that there are people not staying at the property that come to visit, and they try participating in the activities that are exclusively for hotel guests - this happened twice for activities I was attending (lei making and hula dancing). I was surprised that non-resort guests were allowed to participate. That’s what our resort fees go towards, I believe. Anyways, that was minor in the grand scheme of things.

This resort and the staff are top notch! I had the best time here and wept when I had to leave. I hope to return someday.

Beautiful Hotel! Loved the location on the North Shore and the gorgeous beaches that surrounded the property. Our family enjoyed the various activities offered by the hotel and booked several activities through them. Outrigger canoe, surf lessons, Pareu painting, shoreline fishing etc. They also had the most amazing Luau on the property as well. Access to so many great activities without having to leave the hotel grounds made our stay even better.

My husband and really I enjoyed our weeklong stay here, away from the crowds of Honolulu and Waikiki. Some people said they thought the resort was crowded, but we didn't find that true for us (we went in June). It was definitely worth the hour+ drive to stay on the North Shore. We loved all the hiking trails on the property with many \"hidden\" beaches all to ourselves (and a couple of turtles). We made use of the free bicycles as well, and they also have horses for those who want to ride. Our room/bathroom were spacious and comfortable, and the food at Beach House by Roy Yamaguchi was especially delicious. We hope to make the trip again someday!
