Couldn’t sleep due to very loud night club blasting music all night. Pool wasn’t big enough for the hotel. Not enough sun loungers. Took me complaining to reception for someone to clean my room after 2 days. Room was dusty, grimy and generally uncomfortable.

All the restaurants are buffet or by advance reservation only. No ala carte other than pizza in the day time, which mysteriously closes at 3pm. Thankfully there are numerous great restaurants down on the beach - with a great view!! Place reminds me if a Las Vegas hotel or cruise ship. Great location, but all about $$.

Great stay with amazing views. Room was nice, all inclusive was great, staff were lovely. Food can get a bit repetitive but we found it okay as not picky eaters. Lots of restaurants you can book but we found these varied. But great value overall with the burgers tacos etc, especially for drinks!

Overall the stay was great! The rooms were clean, included a closet, TV, and kitchenette. The bathroom was clean. Small counter space. If you get a double bed expect it to be two singles. The overall property was very beautiful. Many pools. A lot of the services were not working, no boat bar or hot tub. You’re not allowed to put water in the sauna. Communicating with some staff was difficult, they didn’t understand when we asked for a water refil station. We didn’t find out where the complimentary coffee/tea/juice/water stations were until we checked out (theyre in the reception lobby) other than served with meals. Coffee and tea however were only available with breakfast in Jacks diner. If you get all inclusive, don’t expect to be there for the food. Amazing desserts and fruit, but overall meals were okay. The property sits on an extremely beautiful beach with cliffs and hiking trails. Go just for the view!

The hotel is very large, catering for all types of guests. I had a good size room with my own balcony, without paying extra. The room was clean and beds comfy. Throughout the room, there was a few aspects which required maintenance, most importantly, the door being difficult to lock. The pool area is very large, but also extremely busy throughout the day, which, isn’t exactly a relaxing experience. However, there is a very pleasant beach right next to hotel for those who would prefer peace a quiet. The down side was that my room was located directly across from a nightclub which played music until the early hours of the morning, which some may find difficult to sleep with. I’m addition, the hotel seems to attract a large amount of young adult as patrons, who are often noisy themselves. Parking at the hotel is available within their car park, but this can become full easily. When this happens, you can park on the street at no extra cost.

Noisy and a lot of bugs

Noisy place with a lot of partying. We stayed there for 2 weeks and had 10 cockroaches during that time. The first one slid right under the front door moments after we arrived. When we complained they tried relocating us to a smaller room with a terrible balcony and judging by the location it would have been a lot noisier so we refused. All they did to remediate the problem was to clean the room a little better and give us some bug spray. We asked them to fix the door so the cockroaches wouldn't get under the door and they said they'd contact maintenance but they never came so we had to stuff the gap with toilet paper for the rest of the trip.

It wasn't until the 3rd complaint on the 12th day that someone took us seriously and finally contacted management. We had asked to contact someone in management before but they wouldn't do it. We were finally offered a better room but with only two nights left we didn't feel like moving. We were used to the roaches anyway.

Apart from the roaches the room was nice enough. Close to the beach, nice balcony and a terrific view.

We stayed for over a month, and we doubt with a gentleman by the name of Rui, at the front desk. He was so incredibly helpful, friendly, insightful, and gave us some phenomenal suggestions. No request was too small or too big. His Customer service really made our trip memorable. He gave us ideas for places to go, restaurants, bakeries, local things to do, and if we had any issues at all, they were dealt with, in an expedient fashion! Fabulous room, we upgraded to a two bedroom suite overlooking the ocean. I would recommend this property every time. We took the self catering option, which was wonderful.

Hotel more like a 3 star. Room clean but a long distance down up and down a hill to the restaurant. Then faced with numerous steps to the restaurant. Apparently there is another way in but this is not advertised. Paper and plastic cups in restaurant and you are not allowed to take these out of the restaurant. Outside area for entertainment is cold and not inviting. Food okay. Staff unsmiling. Beautiful location by the sea.

***JUST DON'T DO IT***
We did go out of season and did get a good price on All Inclusive but I did not expect what we got.
The hotel grounds are beautiful and gorgeous beachfront location but the rooms are tired (although clean) and don't dare ask for a double bed.
Having booked a double room on Expedia I did not expect 2 single beds pushed together and made as 2 singles. Not a major thing but when I had the audacity to contact reception to quey this I was immediately shut down with a passive aggressive; \"Not being rude 'Madam', you booked an apartment, you get twin beds. There are no doubles\".
Then there was the issue with booking for the A La Carte restaurants. These are grim. Plastic chairs under plastic tarpaulin for the 'Mandarin' and 'Mexican'. The food not much better. Having been told they were fully booked (and eventually got booked in) there was barely anyone there and no atmosphere and half hearted service.
Drinks are basic. Beer and warm wine in the buffet in plastic cups, the only glass is in the A la Carte's. Even at The Ocean Bar it was plastic cups but the staff down there actually raised a smile and were friendly and made semi-decent cocktails.
It is a bland hotel with bland food and no atmosphere. Severely dated with rude and disinterested staff. Maybe it's better in the summer months??? I somehow doubt it.
I have travelled alot and can honestly say that this was the poorest customer service and expertise at a hotel that I've ever had.

Great choice if you are looking for an all-inclusive. Great selection of food and entertainment options. Close enough to the main streets but far enough away that it isn't loud. I highly recommend checking out Old Town Albufeira as well while you're in town.

Of all the nice places in Albufeira, would definitely never stay here again. Considering that Muthu seems to be a common hotel here, it really is below average.

Total disappointment.

We booked our hotel and arrived at 830 pm and checked in. Our room had 2 single beds instead of a double size we requested, no towels and then the Air conditioning didn't work. The maintenance worker tried to fix it but gave up and said I can bring you a fan. When we went to the bathroom, there were ants all over in the bathroom. This all took two hours. We tried to contact the manager, The most frustrating part was the manager didn't even bother to come out of her office to speak with us. We were told to sit in the Lobby outside her office. It took us until after 11 pm trying to get the mess fixed and finally get moved to another room.
I was really foreword to going to a 4 star hotel and it looked really good when we saw it but it was very disappointing. I think Dr. Mutu had a great vision but the place is sadly lacking. It hardly looked like 4 star inside, needlng maintenance to be kept up at least in section K where we were. We were given the second room we were assured we could stay and check out at 12 noon which was nice because regular check out time was 10:00 Am. But the next morning we we're woken by cleaning staff knocking at 0915 and told it's check out time. I think there is no coordination between the staff. There is lack of maintenance staff. One guy was running around trying to do everything. The staff was carrying towels and sheets in plastic bags. In some areas the staff was using grocery store carts to move stuff.

The property is advertised lovely, but the room is like a college dorm room in the 70's. There were small flies and mosquitoes dead and alive in the room. The property is in serious need of renovation. The terrace was filthy. There were no towels in the room. Front desk reception wouldn't answer the phone for over an hour. Ended up walking to reception to get them and they said they were 2 busy 2 answer. There was no wifi. Dr. Muthu should be ashamed of him self for allowing this property to be operable. It's not up to standard at all! All of these properties I see his name on in this area and he wont take out the time or money to bring this property up to standard. Another family was upset because their AC wasnt working for 3 days and they were getting bitten by mosquitoes sleeping with their door open because its so hot. People stop staying here and paying to accept these deplorable conditions. The more people keep patronizing he will never fix it! There are better more reasonably priced accommodations in the area. Were at the Auramar Beach Hotel now! What a pleasant difference! For less money! And check out is not 10:00 am!

Our stay was perfectly adequate. The room was spacious but a little dated. Certainly didn’t resemble the pictures on the website. A very good chance we were downgraded due to the low price we paid but not worth the hassle of complaining and swapping rooms as we were only there for 3 nights and the balcony space was excellent and private so worth the trade off.
Breakfast was plentiful but at best luke warm and quite a challenge to get to the one operational tea/coffee machine at busy periods. Would I stay there again ? Probably not.

Block D, ground floor, near to the children's pool and the beach. Fridge and shower curtain had seen better days but the place was clean, had most of what you needed (no broom or dustpan and brush) and was comfortable enough. More 3* than 4*. Walls are paper thin and so little sleep due to noisy neighbours talking loudly until 1-2am and then being woken up by returning revellers from around 4am onwards! Ear plugs are a must!
Breakfast was terrible. Cold 'hot' dishes, strange-coloured scrambled egg and undrinkable juice and coffee from machines. Didn't dare try any other meals. We went into Albufeira old town to eat, when not out driving around the region.
Hotel staff were friendly and generally efficient, although when I complained about the food I later received an email saying that they had tried to contact me in my room but had been unable to do so - despite my wife and I being in our room for the entire period they stated. Nothing changed and we had no further contact from the hotel team.
Hotel location is great, right on the beach. We didn't use the sunbeds so no idea if / how much they cost. Being late October there were still beds available throughout most days. We walked along the cliffs to Albufeira beach and back, and bought a couple of beach towels from a local shop for less than 9 euros each (hire is 12 euros), and just lay on the beach enjoying the 25oC sun. Limited fun in the water most days due to massive waves, but did get one day's swimming in the sea.

We booked this apartment thanks to the pictures that were shown on the expedia app, but we stayed in a room that had no head boards, uncomfortable beds and no hot water. When we tried to speak to the manager about our experience, she was rude and not willing to understand. She had no empathy for our concern.

The location is fantastic
Some of the staff is great too while others dont really seem to care.
I booked a deluxe apartment as self catering. No hot water, rooms are very dated but clean.
The electronics seemed quite dangerous with a dated microwave ontop of a fridge and the kettle and toaster into if that with all running of 1 socket. The matres was old with springs poking unto my back... making a good night sleep impossible. The pool was not usable as the water was ice cold.
But the scenery is beautiful and lots of nice restaurants and bars are in walking distance alrun by local portugues people that are very warm and welcoming.
The hotel chauffeur is amazing and with his bubbly personality made the drive back to the airport so much fun.

We had a great location and a fabulous water views. Their furniture needs updating, it’s old and tired. Coffee maker and toaster also have seen better days. Linens (bed and bath) were excellent. The property is in a lovely position right on the beach. The apartments are a little tired and the one we had was small but adequate. You need to be reasonably fit as there are lots of stairs and banks and you don’t get any help with your luggage. We were self catering so went out for our evening meals. As it was November everything was very quiet so not much atmosphere. When the sun shone we enjoyed our days but not much to do when it rained.

Staff were nice, as all Portuguese seem to be, the location is great, the grounds are very pretty and kept nice, BUT the room.....left lots of room to be desired. The room was small, the bathroom seemed sub-par, the toilet was plastic, didn't sit on the floor correctly, bugs in the bathroom, decor was not great to look at, NO extras in kitchen ie, coffee....Over all I would never stay again. Most of the Algarve is beautiful and kept pretty and clean, so staying anywhere is beautiful. The rooms in this place were not great, it is cheap, maybe that is why.......

Pros: location, beachfront, clean, comfy beds/pillows, nice pool area, happy hour prices, bar snack food, quiet.

Cons: ripped off as paid extra for a sea view when it should have been advertised and sold as ‘partial/limited’ sea view. Expedia were no help whatsoever resolving it.
Reception managers and most staff attitudes are appalling here. Several barmen short changed us on several occasions. First room stank of sewerage and manager told me I was lying she the lied refusing to move me because the hotel was full. I checked online if I could still book and she told me the internet was wrong. Low and behold after arguing for the first hour of my holiday she miraculously found me an empty room. Disgraceful customer service.
Such a shame but I can see why this place has mixed reviews. If it was sold correctly and they employed staff that didn’t rob you or speak to you like dirt, it would be better. It was a cheap last minute deal. I did have a lovely time but I will never return to this hotel because of the reception managers treatment of me.

Money stollen, Dirty rooms on arrival.

We had 5 rooms in total, and 2 of them were broken into with money and a speaker stollen. One of the thefts occurred while one person was sleeping in the room!

We were there for 3 nights with no clean towels. There was no mop that we could even clean ourselves.

Location is brilliant and the outdoor factors are lovely, but serious security issues throughout the hotel. Having stayed here in 2014 it’s obviously changed hands and has declined severely.

Good hotel for the price.

Stayed for 4 nights at the end of September. We booked it on the cheap as a short, end of summer get away. I was a tad nervous after reading the reviews but it was better than I expected. We opted for self-catering so I cannot comment on the quality of the all-inclusive aspects of the hotel. The room had all the appliances needed for self-catering; microwave,oven,toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, utensils and crockery. The hotel also provides washing up liquid and a sponge for washing up.

Our balcony was large and we had a wonderful view of the sea. The balcony had sun loungers and table and chairs. The cleaners came everyday - there are clear signs saying that the linen gets changed once per week (unless otherwise requested) and that the maids will not do the washing up.

The Intermarché is a 5/10 minute walk depending on what block you are in. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. It’s also quite close to the strip but you don’t get any of the noise. Restaurants and bars are all pretty cheap and all have happy hours when pints are as little as €1.50. Old town is a 40 minute walk away or 10 mins in a taxi. Taxi costs €7/€10.

The hotel is very large. There are 2 pools. We used the main pool - it wasn’t too tricky to get a bed. We’d get down at around 10/10:30 and there were still plenty of beds. Beach is a 2 minute walk, the beds on the beach costs €6 per bed for the day.

Overall a decent hotel for the money we paid and a short stay. I would consider returning.

Room ok decor a bit tired looking lovely location pools gardens and close to beaches with excellent beach cafes only had breakfast in hotel restaurant once not impressed also evening meal once decent bar and snacks by hotel reception there was no shuttle bus to old town as mentioned in hotel description also in room literature said that you could order flowers at hotel reception as it was our wedding anniversary my husband tried to order and was told this was not the case he was disappointed overall ok

We were put outside hotel in Sunflower terrace, it's more like 1 star accommodation, damp very basic old bathroom,AC was only on living room.

The worst experience ever, after shower huge cockroache running in corridor.

Great stay in front of the beach

The location is the top. The hotel is in front of beautiful semi-private beach. Just within few steps you reach amazing beach with beach front bars and restaurant. The location is very secure.
You should't demand a lot from this hotel. It's more like 3+ than 4 stars. We were provided with a metallic bed with a thin mattress, although it appeared quite comfortable. The service might be improved as it was very unresponsive.

Excellent location, very nice beaches, food isn’t the greatest in the restaurant on the property, but there are many great places to eat near by , highly recommend JACKYs restaurant it’s about a 5 minute walk from the resort, just a little past the intermarche , places for breakfast at the top of the hill 2 minute walk, I highly recommend for a comfortable and safe stay in the algarve, room was cleaned everyday.

Apartments are outdated...the bathrooms are old, when you shower all the water goes into the floor, the floors are dirty...I called several times to have service no one picked up the calls, i went to the front desk because the door was broken. No one care or even try to fix it...the only good thing about it was the location.overall a really disappointed experience..would not go back to this hotel..would'nt recommended...I wish I had reviewed the comments prior booking😥

Fantastic location. Pools could definitely be cleaner, although hot tub was emptied daily. It was just refilled and there was filthy brown scum around the rim.
Unfortunately guests were out before 7am putting towels on beds for the day,
Great drink prices and happy hour.
Superior Studio was quite small, would recommend a 1 bedroom .
towels were changed pretty much every other day during our weeks stay.
Shame the bar overlooking the sea is closed up.

I liked the pool, the rooms were quite nice, staff was pleasant one in specific was absolutely lovely! However, I was placed in a room with glass door which didn’t feel as safe to me but only stayed for 1 night so can’t complain too much !

Younger staff were rude at best the older staff were lovely. Room was old and definitely not 4 star. Facilities were good but allowing people to reserve the loungers meant that most of the day loungers had just a towel on them but could not be used by others. Food was good and entertainment was first rate.

Three pools. One for kids. Two for all. Should be an adults-only pool and cutoff time in the evening at the kids pool.
Cleaning staff (Laxmi, especially) was wonderful.
Maintenance staff shd wear hotel ID.
Regular msintence shd be made to ensure doors lock properly.
Well-stocked kitchen.

Poor experience from chain that dominates area

Not 4 star as advertised. Stay started badly and got worse throughout, ending with two of our clothes going missing from on top of the bed. The hotel was unable to locate these (after 5 minutes) and there was no apology nor management involvement. Initially when we tried to book the airport transfer, we were given a price much higher than the advertised 20€ return each on the website. Hotels.com resolved this, however following the price discrepancy it was then too late to book. We paid for a twin room with single beds. On arrival we found a double, fold-down bed, despite writing that we were brother and sister. This was quickly resolved but given it was late at night after having to take public transport for over 2 hours and the reception being a 5-10 minute walk away, it wasn't an ideal start. Every time we encountered reception the staff would stand chatting before saying hello. The housekeepers would also push the beds together and change the single bedsheets to double bedsheets for the twin room. The hotel also advertises bowling and tennis courts, but these facilities don't exist. The sauna is an outdoor shed and the jacuzzi/hot tubs are unsanitary with stuff floating around and scum at the waterline. When I spoke to the Hotel Manager to explain our problems on the first night, she said the numbers were incorrect - taken from Hotels.com.
The gardens are very well kept and the greatest asset. Shops are nearby as well as a lovely bay of beach right in front of the hotel.

Decent clean hotel in a good location.

This hotel is in a great position moments from the beach and ‘the strip’ and the staff are very nice and helpful. The rooms are a little dated but very pleasant and clean - the shower has great pressure and the air con worked well so for the price you’re paying it’s wonderful.
This area is a destination for hen and stag parties but that’s life! The strip is loud, boozy and full of partying people which was fine by us as we’d gone there for a girls weekend of dancing but if that’s not what you’re looking for - head towards the old town which is more sedate and not far in a taxi at all. The breakfast buffet was a bargain at €5 - it’s not haute cuisine but it was perfectly fine. The pools were clean and safe and it all felt very safe. I would recommend this hotel for young couples and friends.
