The rooms were not ready the time it was supposed to be ready and though I had booked 2 triple rooms.When I was taken in to show the rooms, there was no mention of the extra bed been brought in until I btought it up. Though the rooms were spacious, the standard was below my expectation.

Staff could be better trained. Had an unfortunate issue trying to get our driver a bed for the night; appreciate they couldn’t and was promised they would follow up and despite staying 3 nights - they didn’t.

The rooms stank of wastage at time and the floors were not that clean. But the rooms themselves were beautiful with a gorgeous balcony for the junior suite.

By far the best experience! It was the staff that make the experience more enjoyable. On our first day we met Wasanthi, she showed us the beauty of what Raddison has to offer, made me a lovely coconut water by the beach. We then met with Ashan Randika at the bar who served beer and the best pizza! Throughout our stay they made sure we had the best time. Thank you team, highly recommend 5 star service! Thank you again Wasanthi, Ashan and the restaurant, concierge staff. First trip to Galle and will come again xx

Phenomenal. Stayed in a lot of top class hotels and this is easily one of the best ever. Amazing rooms staff very nice, pool super and grounds nice too. Hotel breakfast and dinner incredible too. Good variety and catered well for vegetarian (one of the most options I've seen for veggie food). Would come back just to stay in this hotel.

Only marginal negative was WiFi was surprisingly patchy and quite slow. Would often disconnect.

Not a 5 star hotel - rooms and bathrooms are in desperate need of renovation. Sliding door on the shower was rusted and won’t slide so had to leave it open or you’d be stuck inside! Pool area is decent but not exceptional. Beaches are much nicer elsewhere on the south coast - softer sand, clearer waters. The only plus point was a decent breakfast selection.

I gave them accurate info. Why not take my word and allow check out? Really? Why doubt your guest when you are only talking about $8 worth of drinks? My experience was very mixed. I got upgraded to a sea view suite which was excellent. Super comfortable bed and great bath and balcony and living room. Just like in photos. Ordinary rooms are less than one would expect from a Radisson, and not like in the photos. My main issue was the constant loud techno music at the central poolside from 11am to 9pm, even when the pool-side bar was closed. It was not music suitable for a summer pool-side, but more for a night-club. Could hear from inside ordinary pool-side rooms also. Other hotels I stayed in along this coast has pool-side music but it was pleasant. Breakfast was good and nice to sit by pool. Loved sitting out by the beach at night and the natural pool area in the sea by the hotel was fab for splashing around, but not advised for weak swimmers, in off-season. Nothing to do outside the hotel in walking distance, and quite depressing roadway outside. Duty manager was excellent and addressed some concerns I had very professionally. I recommend Hotels.com loyalty scheme for assisting in upgrades!

Magnficent views of the Ocean!

Beautiful Hotel! We had a one bedroom suite and it was magnificent. We had a huge wraparound patio with panoramic views of the ocean all around, that is almost felt like we were in the middle of the Ocean. The rooms were decorated beautifully with Ocean colors.Our room boy Lasith was the best. His careful attention to detail made our stay special. Food was good and service all around was superb!

Don’t let Amari ruin your holiday, stay elsewhere

For the price of a 5-star hotel:
Beach is not swimmable, barely walkable with the shape corse sand. The fake palm tree in the water makes a real eyesore.
Room was small and dark with cheap, stained furniture and patchy painted-over walls & ceiling.
Buffets looked and tasted like hospital food, and ala carte items made me miss McDonalds like never before.
Worst part was front desk service - Miss Desha Lak was a real piece of work - no eye contact, slammed check in form on counter with her palm, threw a pen on top, and so much despise in her tone that made us feel really unwelcome. She also refused to help with currency exchange - “check the rates yourself over there” were her exact words.
Our stay at this godforsaken hotel really ruined our wonderful time in Sri Lanka. Please don’t make the same mistake we did.

Difficult to believe the hotel is only 3 yrs old, the build quality is terrible. The general cleanliness was not up to standard. We had two of the more expensive rooms, one of the rooms 3501 had leaks inside whenever it rained. Similar to Chinese torture, with a constant dripping sound. With these rooms came large terraces, unfortunately when it rained impossible to use, due to poor design and build quality the water still came under the covered area. We booked through ebookers hoping for a quality hotel, which has been the case up and till now.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, but the rooms and general cleanliness were not up to standard. I have photos of patch work (paper taped on to cover certain areas, cardboard in the door lock, etc...)

We stayed here for 1 night and had stepped out for the night. They informed us the kitchen is 24/7, when we returned back around 4:30am and ordered for food the order was accepted, and informed us the waiting time is 45 mins. We had agreed to this and waited until 6:00am but the food never arrived. Following day when we checked out we were shocked to see the food bill attached to our final checkout bill and we had to clarify it to them that the food never came the previous night. The on duty manager was kind enough to understand this situation and waived it off from the bill. Over all this property is amazing with the view and the service they provide except that one instance. It’s worth the price and a great spot in Galle to relax. Highly recommend

Perfect Amari

We just spent 3 perfect days at Amari Galle. Upon arrival we were provided a refreshing towel and drink which was needed after our long travel. The hostess asked how our stay in Sri Lanka had been and we advised we had just got engaged. She walked off to complete the check in process and we were then upgraded to a top floor room and surprised in our room with a chocolate cake - such a lovely gesture!!
Our room was beautiful and clean, comfy bed and pillows, tea making facilities, flat screen TV, working air con and area to store our suitcases with large walk in shower.
The facilities are wonderful - ocean front to the Indian Ocean, huge swimming pool, restaurant, rooftop bar and well equipped gym.
Food was delicious - everything we ordered throughout our stay was so tasty.
Location was really good, a short tuk tuk from Galle Fort but away enough from the hustle and bustle - a true paradise.
But what really topped off our stay was the staff. From check in to the restaurant to the poolside to the beach front, everyone was just so welcoming, helpful and friendly.
Thank you Amari, we just can’t thank you enough!!! We will cherish these memories forever.

One-bedroom suite is very spacious and well-maintained. Many spa treatments available on site - I had 2 fantastic massage treatments with Muli (best masseuse ever). Very good pool area and several choices of where to sit. You can order food and drink at the pool bar. The sea by the hotel was quite rough when I went (red flag was up) so not one for swimmers; but otherwise there are many hotel facilities for you to enjoy.

Amari Galle is a resort by the beach, 5 minutes driving distance to Galle city

The hotel is much smaller than I anticipated, and all the rooms are somehow very close to the road from backside (The reason you don't hear the cars is the sound of the ocean), but it's outdoors are nice and clean.
The rooms were somehow worn out and probably need renovation.

The Amari was wonderful and they had a nice private beach cove that was fun to play/swim in without feeling like you had a chance of getting sucked out by the current even in less than perfect weather. Valitettavasti itseään 5 tähdellä mainostamassaan Amari Gallessa on yksi perustavanlaatuinen ongelma: laajalle levinnyt sisäilmaongelma, joka johtuu rakentamisenaikaisista virheistä ja erityisesti betonirakenteisiin jääneestä liiallisesta kosteudesta. Rakennukset ovat valmistuneet jouluksi 2017. Tämän seurauksena kokonaiset kerrokset ko. hotellissa on vallannut Aktinobakteeri (engl. Acinobacteria). Hotellin johto on hyvin informoitu tilanteesta ainakin sen jälkeen, kun kirjelmöin heillä asiasta. Havainnoin, että asiakkaita majoitetaan silti ylimpiin 6. ja 7. kerroksiin, joissa kosteusvauriot ovat suurimpia. Myös resortin maanpinnalla sijaitsevassa Spa-osastossa on merkittäviä aktiobakteerivaurioita. Valitettavasti tämä vakava ja ihmisille vaarallinen sisäilman myrkyttävä bakteeriongelma pilaa koko resortin perusedellytyksen, puhtaan ja terveellisen lomaympäristön.

If you are a frequent traveler and are used to international 5 star hotels - it is likely that you’ll see this on par with a solid 3 or 4 star facility. Whilst the staff are generally excellent and attentive, the pool and beach area is clean and beautiful the room itself did not come up to standard for a regular 5 star. Most specifically the bathroom. It is fair to say that the public bathrooms as part of the resort were far nicer than the room bathroom which was basic, damaged, terribly sub-par for a ‘5 star’ hotel and left me wanting to spend as little time as possible inside. I won’t even begin to mention the dispensable shampo and condition combined attached to the wall in a refillable bottle!!! But in all seriousness - It was quite disappointing when you look at the price tag per night at this hotel.

So in a nutshell if you don’t mind paying 5 star prices for a 4 star room with a 3 star bathroom Amari Galle is your girl.

A special mention to the fabulous Ms. Darshi. She’ll go far in this industry! Kind, caring, professional, considerate yet poised. You go girl!

The Amari Galle is well designed, rooms are modern and updated with ocean views. The pool and cabanas are lovely. We loved the breakfast buffet, it was the best of our trip. However, improvement is need on the service, check in was a nightmare and staff don’t seem to understand pool service. Even with a few hiccups we would stay again.
