To use indoor pool they insist on a swim cap! So we didn’t bother. Breakfast was Turkish, could do with more fruit and better cereals. Room tired and bathroom needs renovating, all very tired. Everyone smoking so hotel smelt of smoke which didn’t suit us. To get to the beach there are three lifts with a lot of walking in between so not suitable for people with mobility issues. Staff friendly but we wouldn’t return.

As soon as i checked in and wanted to shower, the bathroom had water all over the floor and the shower had issues and the shower head was very slow. I called them and they said will fix it, but I'm there for only 2 days do i have time to wait for my shower after a long flight?. I went downstairs to eat and they charged me for food instead of making it up for me with bathroom problems. After i finished eating i went to the room to shower and the water wasn't going through it was messed up and they said someone fixed it. Nothing was fixed and i don't recommend wasting time in this hotel as they claim it 5 stars. It's a 3 star hotel not 5 realistically speaking.

The room was generally clean, though the furnishings and overall condition showed signs of age. Staff were consistently courteous, understanding, and helpful throughout our stay. However, several issues impacted our experience. We noticed items in our luggage had been moved—guests should keep belongings secured. Toward the end of our visit, cigarette smoke began seeping into our room. The front desk informed us that adjacent rooms were vacant but offered to relocate us. Strangely, we observed lights turning on and off and heard toilets flushing in one of those rooms, suggesting possible unauthorized use—perhaps by staff during breaks. The air conditioning was ineffective and failed to cool the room properly. Smoking is widespread across the property, including the beach, pool, bars, and restaurant. Guests with asthma or smoke sensitivity should be cautious, as there are no designated non-smoking areas and the hotel does not clearly advertise its smoking-friendly status. The main restaurant offers a decent variety of food, though it can become repetitive. Cleanliness was inconsistent—glassware and utensils often appeared dirty, and flies were present around the buffet. Many guests were visibly ill and lacked basic hygiene, which was concerning. Despite these drawbacks, the beach and pier are beautiful, and the food is enjoyable. Recommended only if you're comfortable with a smoking environment and can overlook some cleanliness concerns.

I travel a lot and I mean a lot! I am struggling to think of an occasion when I have stayed in a worse hotel. Alarm bells starting ringing when we were met by the ‘airport transfer’ which was offered and arranged by the hotel. It was a small saloon car and in a poor, dirty condition. On arrival at the hotel the driver demanded the €50 payment in cash. The hotel had made know mention of this and left me assuming it was the same system as hotels worldwide that offer an airport transfer - it goes into your bill. To rub salt into the wound, the usual transfer company I use (and which I booked for the return to the airport) uses large, modern, clean cars and the price was 25% less.
On arrival at the hotel, we were told the room was ready but we need to wait for a shuttle to take us to the room as it was separate to the hotel. For some amazing reason, a hotel that has rooms requiring a shuttle for this reason only has one available buggy - so if it’s busy elsewhere you have to wait or hike up the hill in the heat. We were offered a free drink of our choice at the lobby whilst we waited, however when we got the bar to order orange juice we were told only water was free. We asked later at reception why they told us a drink of our choice but only water was offered - they could not answer. Not going well so far and it didnt get any better. They didn’t care and it was disgustingly dirty especially in the restaurant. Awful!!

We were in the upper level residents on the road, apt 4. Amazing view and large 1 bdrm apt but bed was very hard in bedroom and it was loud at night with cars going by late with their stereos booming. Our pool had no chairs around it and there was no cork screw etc and if you needed something other than a shuttle you had no service too far away. Food was decent. We booked for 2 days and paid a lot and had breakfast incuded and really for what we paid all meals and drinks should be included as we were 3kms from all restaurants and stores so taxi was necessary as very big hill to and from our accommodation. Silan in the dining area was wonderful to us but beyond her the other staff did not seem very interested in us as english speaking Canadians. 3 star rating but the beach is amazing and swimming ideal!

After booking we confirmed they would pick us up at the airport but on arrival were told they don't do airport shuttle so had to arrange a cab. There were plenty so that was fine. Checking in was good, the receptionist was welcoming and assured us a 1 pm checkout and breakfast buffet till 11.
Next day, they cleared breakfast at 10:15 even though the front desk confirmed it went to 11am just a few mins before and the wait staff were not very nice about it and at 11:50a we got a call telling us we needed to leave soon. The bathroom sink leaked on to the floor, it was not very clean, the shower didn’t drain, the bedroom AC didn’t work well and had a red filter replacement light on. We left after one night and went to the Marriott. It cost a bit more but was worth it for us. The hotel was rated high on Expedia and we were supposed to get “VIP Gold member perks” that did not happen. My brother stayed in the room across the way and it was a little nicer but they booked for 3 nights so maybe they prioritized their booking. Expedia should do better about vetting properties and validating that what they claim is up to par. We work hard and save up money and vacation time and trust that the recommendations are accurate.

The hotel itself is really nice. The room is spacious and view to the sea is amazing (you can see the sunrise from your balcony). The pool is nice and big, good beach, spa is also great with services for a very affordable price massages were very good, the gym is huge and loads of machines to use. Alright customer service from the staff too. What I didn’t like was the fact that we traveled at the end of the season (mid-end October) which meant that the hotel activities were not happening anymore which was really annoying as we were looking forward to do yoga, aqua sports, pilates, etc. The food at the hotel was also not good, we went for half board and found both the breakfast and dinner very poor - food didn’t have great quality, not a lot of options (apart from the salad station) and worst thing was that, if you arrived towards the end (e.g in the last 30-45 min of the buffet times) there were a lot of options missing/run out and they wouldn’t add it back which was really frustrating. The hotel was really quiet as we went at the very end of summer which was good to relax, however it would have been nice to have more activities available for us as it’s advertised on the hotel description. Good value for money tho!

First time in Bodrum

We had a wonderful time touring Turkey, we booked the last 4 days of our trip in this hotel, we wanted to relax and rest after seeing so many historical sites.
The staff are fantastic, from check in at the front desk to everyone who works in the restaurants and bars, they are an excellent team, cant fault anyone.
The waiting staff in the restaurant are so hard working, Ehmet in the main restaurant and during the day in the snack bar looked after us incredibly well,also a mention to Taner, fantastic guys.
Some of the tourists are extremely rude, these young people are working their socks off, we witnessed a group of very rude guests, the young waiters were visibly upset, but carried on in such a professional manner.

I am widely travelled individual with a good exposure to hotels ranging from very upmarket to the basic ones . The hospitality industry is all about good service , I reckon I haven’t come across such a rude and pathetic and lazy staff who have frustrated expression that also filters down through gritty teeth and verbal spat. I was shocked that how ignorant is the management . There were many flaws but the general attitude of staff was beyond compare . Poor amenities , negligible response to your repeated request, very limited dining options, poor toiletries , run down and Torn curtains and below standard air conditioning are a few to name . A five pound deposit of an extra room key which was never given back was ridiculous . I suggest and I wish I could have been able to convey this to higher authorities . Never would I recommend this place , where the staff pulls of ur coffee while you are drinking and any query is addressed with a slap of brochure on ur face . As I said , this is my experience after an extensive travel of years .
The location and the breakfast spread are the only two areas which were satisfactory .

we stayed at salmakis for 2 weeks and could not have been happier! we got the cheapest room which is a little shabby but VERY clean! next time we come we will definitely get an upgraded room. the service, all the waiters and bar tenders are amazing.

we did all inclusive and the food was just excellent. really we had the best time here. the resort is beautiful and large. please know that there a lot of stairs involved though but it’s great to work off all the great food!!!

we never got bored during our two weeks. stay here absolutely!!!!!

Very disappointing stay. On the plus side the location and view are fantastic, on the negative side the property is shabby and dilapidated. The key disappointment is the staff who, with a few exceptions, were surly and lacking in interest to any customers making this effectively a self-service hotel as, for example, you have to hunt around for your own cutlery, crockery and clear your own table before serving yourself the luke-warm (albeit still very tasty) food.

Great location if you want to visit the markets ( be prepared to negotiate) could get a taxi boat from there to centre which takes 10 mins. Or can walk which takes 20/25 mins.

I stayed at Salmakis in 2017 and 2019. The quality of the service, facility, cleanliness and food has significantly deteriorated. The staff are unprofessional and have bad attitude. Food is not good. The meat is very hard to eat. They put the dame grilled fish for 5 days. Overall, I will not stay there again. Not recommend.

Nightly street parties ruined an otherwise lovely hotel.

We stayed from Friday to Sunday in the residence hotel rooms which are larger and higher up the hill than the main compound. It has a beautiful view, and comes stocked with towels, some drinks and snacks.

The issues started around 1am when a group of people parked their cars and blasted music about 100-200 meters away. The room is incapable of stopping any sound, and the music continued until 5am. We called the front desk 7 times that night, and police didn't arrive until my wife yelled at the front desk over the phone. The manager the next morning was also quite apathetic; simply stating we weren't the first couple to have the problem.

Don't stay in the two-bedroom residence rooms because you will not sleep through the night.

BAIT AND SWITCH. We reserved an all inclusive room but their definition of all inclusive is free breakfast. The hotel also falsely advertised for the location in downtown area. LIE AGAIN. The hotel is miles away from nearest restaurant.

The hotel staff also had arrogance and not at all helpful in calling Expedia for clarification. We had no means to call Expedia.

This was one of our worst choices of hotel ever.

I had never stayed in an all inclusive place before. but it seemed like your typical all inclusive place. The amenities are decent. The food was extensive and decent. The service was hit and miss with people like the night manager Mehmet and his assistant Melek providing excellent service with a smiles and some great waiters by the pool restaurant, to a young guy who drove me to my room on cobblestone (it felt like I was racing again, trying my best to stay in the cart), a couple of unhappy young people with my tips (I tip well and I’m not sure anyone else did at the resort) and one late night guy in the lobby bar who took so long to do a hard drink (freshly squeezed oj that I gave up. The “beach” area looks fantastic. The views are incredible. Facilities/rooms clean but dated and I say this with gratitude for my kind upgrade to a full sea view room) All other clients be it groups of young people or families looked pretty happy there. Great value I would think for Bodrum.

We really enjoyed our stay and everything was pleasant and nice, the rooms are airy and the balcony is big. The beach was very nice and all the staff were friendly but sometimes English was a barrier. As I understand Bodrum is very popular among Turkish people for vacation so the staff do not deal with foreigners very often. The plus about the resort is you can get a boat within 2 min walk from the beach and get to Marina were there is the local bazar and restaurants and were everyone hangs out.

I especially want to thank our server Ersin, who really took care of us for every meal and was super friendly. He made our trip very especial. The hotel should take care of their good staff like him.

but I do have couple of suggestions. The bathroom in the hotel rooms need upgrades as they tend to be a bit old especially the shower heads. There was no Iron provided so we had to ask for it and as typical with all inclusive packages the food is a hot or miss. Some days good and some days mediocre. We would have loved to see more seafood options and more local Turkish cuisine but unfortunately that was not the case.

But again we really enjoyed our stay!

The check in was horrible. I requested two twin beds and I get to the room and it’s one double bed. The comforter covers on both beds were clearly not washed from the last quests. The maids just remade the beds! Disgusting! The refrigerator was barely giving any cold air and our view was into a tree...
the only goid thing from this horrible experience was the manage upgraded us to a better room. It was still very outdated with the ugliest couch filled with stains and cigarette holes, but it at least was bigger and clean sheets!
The buffet food was very ok.. sub standard. I heard the spa was great, but I didn’t go...
I don’t think I’d Reccomend this hotel... definitely not for the price...

My syay was good except i had an incident with a bar tender. I didnt have all inclusive and thr first day i got there and order drink i gave him what i thought was my room number he comes running to veach asking me about my room number i pulled put key and i had gave him 122 instead 120 which look like 122 he was upset 😡 and took off for simple mistake made me feel uncomfortable on my first day arriving.. The drink was gross 😝 the alcohol they use no bueno.

This is not a 5* resort and everyone who says it is has not been to a 5* resort.
We had booked another hotel which flooded and Expedia failed to inform us in time off this issue, we were then stuck with very few 5star resorts to pick from with the same listed amenities and standards we expected. When we arrived the hotel we could tell straight away this was not a 5* property, it was dated and tired and the reception looked like a messy motel desk. The lift up to our suite was tiny and resembled that of a London council estate. When we arrived the room again we noticed the tired decor, the fridge was falling apart, the arm chairs were worn out and weathered. The en-suite was awful, hair in the drains and an awful smell coming out of the bathroom. The sheets in the beds were ripped and stains on the bed (I took photos for my complaint). It was awful! I called down to complain about the sheets and I was told it’s fine they are clean and old. The sheets were changed eventually to stain free sheets but not rip-free! Sheets are not supposed to be torn in a 5*resort. I asked for a dressing gown and after a lot of chasing up I got a bathrobe which had a strange black tar like substance with hairs stuck in it (pictures taken). Hospitality were rude and thought I was being difficult when I called and complained about this. The food was a nightmare, only one resturant, the second resturant by the pool wasn’t a resturant, it was a seating area serving the same food from the buffet....

Nice resort for families of which we have no children. Being our first all inclusive type accommodation we were surprised at the family entertainment on offer which went on until 11pm. Not great for those early nights as it’s incredibly loud, especially annoying when we paid for a sea view but this was worse for sound than the garden view. The hotel next door was an adults only, much nicer restaurant and lounging arrangement. We will be booking that next time.

NOT 5 STARTS IN A MILLION YEARS-3 STARS AT MOST

THIS HOTEL SHOULD BE RATED 3 STARS MAXIMUM. Step into 1990, that's what the place looks like. Lobby is dark at night, like they're trying to save on electricity. Our bed had sand, like it was not cleaned or sheets were not changed (disgusting). Bathtub had hair (not cleaned). Door key card not working, had to call technicians. Key card used to turn on lights not working either, light would turn off randomly, sometimes every 30 seconds (this was not resolved). SMELLS LIKE AN ASHTRAY (smoking rooms are next to non-smoking rooms so you smell the cigarettes everywhere. The button on the wall to flush the bathroom would get stuck, you had to go back into the bathroom to stop the water from running. The table lamp in the room had no with, was broken. You have to walk about 1/2 mile to get anywhere within the resort, all of it up and down stairs. At first they put us in a tiny room that had a baby crib left inside (we have no kids). The two front desk women were very rude, did not address our concerns or seemed to care. We checked out early and booked a different hotel in the area (it took very long to get them to refund us 1 night). If you have a nice resort in mind, this is not it and the 5 star rating is a fraud. There is no way this place is even 4 stars. There were issues from a to z and the cleanliness issues were disgusting, especially laying down to sleep and realizing the bed was FULL OF SAND. Bodrum is a beautiful place but this hotel almost ruined it for us.

Nice resort with a great location in Bodrum

I stayed for a long weekend in late winter. Overall the hotel was very comfortable and clean, and service was very good. The decor is very attractive and modern. Wifi service was good. The breakfast buffet included a large selection, and was very well prepared. The pool and beach areas seemed nice, but due to the time of year I did not make use of them. The location is convenient. It's a 20 minute walk to the marina, or a short taxi ride. The only negative part of the experience was that there was a slight smell of tobacco smoke when I entered the room.

Our stay in Bodrum, Turkey

The Salmakis Resort is a beautiful facility, especially as you come into the main reception area. We were there for 6 nights and taxis were easy to request (and fast getting to us) and very inexpensive. Since we were on the Bed and Breakfast plan, we only ate the breakfast meal there. But, that was enough - something for everyone. We used the main outdoor swimming pools only three of the days because we were out on excursions, tours, etc. on the other days. We loved the small patio balcony that looked over the bay. Each night we could see the lights on the opposite shore. This resort was probably a perfect location for us.

Do yourself a favor and Stay Away!

Terrible costumer service, rude staff, zero morals, zero maintenance whatsoever, cheap on everything, extremely dirty. Common areas are extremely dirty, the staff are amazingly rude. When we called for housekeeping or water they never got back to us and totally ignored us.

We stayed at residence apartments (room #4). I tried calling the hotel, emailing them several times before our arrival to let them know that we will be 4 people (apartment has 1 king bed and two single beds) nobody got back to me. When we were checking in we were honest about number of people in our party and they said this room is for 3 people and they are going to charge us 50 euros extra for each night for the one addition person . We had no other choices since everywhere else were booked out and stayed the first night. They simply took advantage of the situation and seize the opportunity to rip us off.The day after the other two people decided to leave, the front desk refused to refund us though and they called us liars and said they don't believe that the other two people have left (even though we called them and checked out).
Do yourself a favor and don't ruin your happy vacation. Stay away!

This Hotel : FUN , JOY & Non Stop entertainments

After long search we land up me & my bestie choosing SALMAKIS HOTEL & RESORTS. It was the BEST decision we have ever made in a trip , we stayed for a full 8 days and still cant get enough of the Hotel HUGE facilities and non-stop activities.

The best part was the entertainment team (This team is on Fire :) ) always arranging best evening outing plans and taking us to the most FUN places in Bodrum ( Beach parties , concerts , Boat parties , Clubs ...etc) Askin and Erman and Zuzu are my SUPER STARS and if i ever come back it will be just to hangout with them again.

The Hotel facilities are beyond amazing (Especially Good Pool & Gym ) and main restaurant was serving different themed buffet everyday (Breakfast , Lunch , dinner) so delicious.

Am so Happy and this experience will last in my memory forever.

Great stay!

Great stay at Salmakis! It's a wonderful choice if you would like to have beach and pool but also be close to the city center. There is a very convenient water taxi that takes you right into the city where there are shops and restaurants. The entertainment team at the hotel is great for keeping guests having fun!

Great stay. Nice spa facility and they offer good massages. Nice quiet indoor pool and jacuzzi. The main shops are 10 minutes walk or you can get a taxi which is ordered from the hotel and it arrives in minutes. Breakfast was nice and healthy with a good selection(some days better than others) but that's my preference. Either way I think it's a great hotel and would enjoy coming back. Staff are very friendly and ready to assist you.

Beautiful Resort For the Sun Loving

Had a good time here. It’s great for relaxing, tanning and swimming. Rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed. Be aware that getting anywhere on the resort is a long trek. The beach is beautiful as is the pool, and there is a long popular sunbathing pier that juts out into the sea. The resort is one of three on the beach. There was entertainment nightly at one of the hotels, and open to all. Getting to the city is quaint and somewhat romantic. For 7TL you take a five minute ferry ride across the harbor. Dining on site is large convention-like. Buffet and all you can eat. If you're a gregarious extrovert this is your kind of place, a good value and run efficiently. It is not romantic if that's what you're looking for. Reminds me of eating at an amusement park dining hall with better food. Service in the dining area is some of the best I've encountered, fast, responsive, and solicitous. Service at the front desk is unprofessional. Guests are greeted, well not exactly greeted. Let's say dealt with. Not rude, but certainly not welcoming. You get answers if you ask. This place is huge and you'd think reception would, give some guidance on getting around. The staff of the lobby bar was usually hanging around with the front desk staff surfing the net, and flirting. And there was confusion at the lobby bar about simple drink orders like gin and tonic. Finally, don't leave valuables out. There is a safe in the room. Use it. We left the hotel missing $200.

Weekend break

Person on reception was unfriendly and slow but others were really nice and friendly. Great service in the main restaurant. Just not enougth staff for amount of people they are serving. On the other hand atbthe day restaurant too much staff doing nothing and not knowing what to do-might be due to start of the season. At the check out there was mistake with the bill (charged twice for buffet) and it took 20 mins to rectify the error because they only had one staff on reception and he had to deal with other clients at the same time.

I had a horrible time. I went here with a small bit of inheritance money from my grandfather because I was feeling very ill and needed some rest. I chose to spend a bit more on this hotel as I thought I'd get better quality and the rest I needed as I have M E . I couldn't have been more wrong. The hotel did not even give me the garden room I paid for and ignored my request for a quiet room. When they eventually moved me it was next to a store room where staff would come late night and early morning clattering bottles and waking me up. I complained again and the operations manager said he would meet me the next morning to change my room. He didn't eve turn up. the reception staff claimed to know nothing about it and just proceeded t serve every other customer completely ignoring me. When they saw I was becoming stressed and upset as I'd had hardly any sleep since my flight 2 days ago the man at the reception was actually smirking and laughing. The manager then lied to me a second time saying he would give me some kind of discount or compensation and again just didn't turn up. They made t very clear they couldn't care less I was having a horrible time and not sleeping. I think some of it was sexism I doubt very much they would've treated a man this way. This is how they treat their ill guests. Do not stay here if you are a woman, if you are ill or if you are from uk. When I finally after 3 days of catching up on sleep make it to the pool there was some kind of drilling

Not bad, but wouldn't stay there again.

The hotel is quite beautiful and well located (7 min ferry ride to the city centre, with the ferries being conveniently located by the beach). However we had a problem with the airconditioner in our room and had to remind the hotel 3 times to get it fixed. Also, i'm a vegetarian but the hotel wasn't very accomodating in giving us any vegetarian food. While some of the staff went out of their way to help us, some were downright rude. Definitely wouldn't stay there again.
