The breakfast was aweful and late it daid 6am but the staff could not be bothered to actually do it. The bread and cereal was weeks old stale. The rooms were filty the bedding filthy. Would NEVER stay there again it was so gross i checked out a day early cause i could not stomach it. Just let them keep the money and went else where.

Suprised that all the towels had yellow stains , they should use bleach or send them out. Breakfast eggs were cold in the server. Boxelder bugs during early March, a nuisance. Tv remote - off switch turned on the tv and on switch turned it off. Interesting.

This was by far the most horrible dirty and awful customer service hotel we’ve ever had to stay at. EVERYTHING was filthy! They moved us to a second room and it was led filthy but stunk like stale dirty sheets. I pulled all the covers off the bed to make sure they were at least clean and the manager on duty ridiculed me. I also told him that we just wanted our money back and we’d stay somewhere else, he refused. We stayed in the room a very short night and left immediately the next morning to family. We had to come back that night for our second and last night, new manager on duty. There was no toilet paper, no conditioner and the towels were not replaced. I called the front desk, 2 hours later he brought them. They towels were yellowed and dingy, my kids were bawling because of how filthy this place was. At 2am the people in the room next door were beating the cramp out of each other and screaming. I called front desk, this went on for 1 1/2 hours. I called the front desk and told them we’re calling the cops if something wasn’t done immediately. About 15 min later the room next door became quiet so who knows what happened to those vile people. We put all our belongings in trash bags because I’m honestly scared to death what we could possibly bring home from this disgusting place. I want my money back. I am livid we were basically financially forced to stay here.

Before you evaluate this property, please pause to consider two things 1) Choices in the Area 2) cost and value. If you do that, you wil find that it’s a great options. It’s not the newest property but for the price, it’s immaculate. I’d stay again since if I stayed at the Abbey it would be 4x or more. I spoke with the general manager who was committed to me having a good stay. What’s better than that?

Questionable black stain on the sheet, could have easily have seen bed bugs being in there. On my way out I saw a cockroach on the wall. Awful 🙅

Call lack of heat throughout the whole building. No, heat at all in the pool area. But the pool was hot and then again, there was lack of personnel. The breakfast area was not open. Microwave didn't work in room. The door is stuck against the plores. The lambshades were all worn out the places lacking maintenance, something fearless.

The outer door to enter where our room was located did not lock behind you even though the sign indicated that you needed a room key to enter. The toilet was unstable and moved when you used. (we are not large people) The microwave in the room smelled so bad we didn't feel safe using it. (microwave was also unplugged) The towels in the bathroom were tiny and threadbare. The towels in the pool area were also tiny and threadbare. Not a good experience at all.

Its in poor condition. Stained linens, dirty couch, broken lamp shades, torn curtain the bathtub was cracked. Outside there were people drinking and partying. The tv wasnt working we had to fix it. The ice machine wasnt hardly working. The breakfast was cold eggs nothing else other then waffles you make yourself. Im not normally a picky person but this was bad.

Check in was okay then it was all downhill from there. I could tell at check in it was going to be on of those stays. Man at front desk gave me 2 keys in the little folder which you could clearly tell was used from a prior visit or visits. Really? Okay you want to recycle the keys that’s fine but give me a new key folder. Then to the room. Booked for 4 people. Get to the room and one towel. Okay so back to front desk and now another person I deal with. I ask for towels. He says what room, I tell him and tell him there was 1 set of towels and we needed more. Gives me attitude like why we needed towels? Really? The entire trip was like this. They had 1 roll of toilet paper and for 4 people for 2 days we naturally ran out. So back to front desk and same man with same questions. What room? Why do we need it? Are you kidding me? Towels in pool weren’t there. Had to ask and got the same attitude for those? Room was not clean at all. Marks from spills on the walls. Cobwebs in the corners. Just generally not clean at all. Hallways were 100 degrees. Only thing positive was AC in room worked and water was hot and cold. That’s it. Breakfast options were ridiculous. Milk in a non working fridge. We skipped on that. For a Baymont Suites it should be ashamed to be called that. Was absolutely worst experience at a hotel ever.

The room i was given ,the shiwer was not installed properly, the drain pipe came up through the floor, there were patched holes in the shower. Only half a roll of toilet paper, the airconditio er barely worked, took it 8 hrs to cool the room enough to sleep on 1st night, 3rd day left ac on high arrived back to room at 5 and took till midnight to cool enough to sleep.

The properties are probably 30 to 40 years old and could use an update. But it's clean bed. Some of the things are a little rusted in the bathroom and some of the floor mats are little stained but clean. Price is probably the best in the area and that's probably the reason I chose. Plus it's next to one of the best restaurants in the area too

We selected this property because it was listed as “Pet Friendly.” When I went to pre check in, it explicitly stated that it was in fact NOT pet friendly. This significantly impacted our weekend plans. The pool was extremely dirty. Our room was not clean. The ice machine was not working and they did not have enough towels for our family. We booked this hotel expecting a clean, no-smoking stay, but what we got was disgusting. The first room reeked of cigarettes, despite being non-smoking. The sheers on the windows were shredded, the room was filthy, and the air was musty. The front desk clerk moved us to another room, but it was just as nasty—again reeking of smoke once we turned on the A/C.

The bed had EIGHT layers of mattress covers, clearly trying to hide huge brown and yellow stains. It was disturbing and unhygienic. To make things worse, the swimming pool was green and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in ages.

When I returned to the front desk to express my concerns, the man told me not to complain where others could hear, and instructed me to go around to the back. Then he eavesdropped on my call with Hotels.com and butted in. Instead of helping us, he told us to leave the hotel!

We were left with nowhere to stay for two nights but our car, and we had traveled all the way from Arizona. This was absolutely unacceptable and traumatic. The hotel was unsanitary, the staff unprofessional, and the treatment we received was outrageous.

We deserve a full refund. Avoid Baymont in Harvard, IL at all costs!

The room was clean. The light between beds did not turn on, it was unplugged. The toilet was clogged and didn’t flush well. Not enough towels for 3 guests. Nobody at the desk. Chipmunk running around the indoor pool. Ice machine broken. Parking lot with gravel, debris, huge hole from some kind of half done electrical project. Outside doors have a key card reader for security but the doors were unlocked. The staff was helpful. The biggest issue was the intense pungent body odor of one of the staff. The man passed in the hall and I had to hold my breath because the stench was so strong. I don’t know if he had a medical problem or was opposed to bathing, but I pitied him because he seemed unaware of how offensive the foul penetrating odor permeated the air. It still stank after he exited the hallway. I hope someone can gently encourage him to learn and practice normal hygiene. Someone in contact with the public should bathe and wash his clothes on a regular basis. I really feel sorry for the guy since he seemed unaware just how strong he stank and was oblivious to how that affects guests.

We got the suite and the hot tub had not been cleaned from previous people. It had hair and other things on the bottom. They did not have enough shampoo and conditioner, our key didn't work after 10am. The security system is not there. Anyone can get into the hotel even without the key card. We asked for extra pillows for my son as they didn't have any for the pull out bed. The ac did not work.
The positive is the windows open all the way up, and the room we were I. Had a balcony off the pool. Btw. The water in the pool was way to cold.

It was ok, but you can't compare this Baymont hotel to the one in Rockford IL, it's totally 2 different hotels. Harvard could use a cleaning service and bleach to at least make the towels look a little whiter! You can also put air freshener in the hallways so it can smell a little better.

My guest room was very clean with modern amenities. I appreciated the shampoo dispenser in place of the tiny bottles. Super fast Wi-Fi. Very comfortable bed. It was a pleasant surprise to have a refrigerator. The free breakfast is a plus and was better than I was expecting: waffle maker, scrambled eggs, English muffins and spread, yogurt, cereal, orange juice, and coffee.

The only real negatives were the non-functioning (always unlocked) exterior electronic door locks when entering the hallways from the parking lot, and the lack of lighting in the hallway on the second floor (the lights in the middle of the hallway were all turned off or not operational).

The manager on duty was rude and uncaring. We had people next door who were shouting and swearing and sounded intoxicated. And the man threw his phone at his female partner. She was crying. We didn’t feel safe and the manager/desk clerk refused to move us to another room. He said “I talked to him and he said he’d be quiet”. I went back to my room and the shouting continued. I went back to the manager and he finally agreed to move us after I insisted. We did not feel safe, but as we were moving, the manager said “he wouldn’t have hurt you.” The manager also said to me “haven’t you ever stayed at a motel before?” I replied that I had stayed at hotels all over the world and never experienced this. He kind of huffed and said “really?” I replied really. We will never stay at this hotel again!

The room was adequate. One of the key cards did not work. We were told breakfast was until 10am, but we went down at 9:00 and it had been pretty much cleaned out, scrambled eggs all gone, no toaster, just a toaster oven, dirty coffee cups scattered about, tables not cleaned off, yogurt gone, not left to choose from. My kids left without eating and we had to buy some things from Walmart for breakfast. No elevator to second floor, so dragging luggage up stairs. Dirty wet floor mats by doors. When we checked out there was no one by the desk, a sign to ring zero on the phone, tried that many times, waited around 5 minutes and repeated, someone came who did not speak English. Construction on the road outside. Not enough towels for the number of guests in our room. Room was reasonably clean, just a bit spartan. The AC unit was loud and making a throbbing repeating sound all night long that made sleep very difficult.

Nice easy access to Highway. Great restaurant next door to hotel. Beds were comfortable. In room refrigerator was quiet. That's about it. Did not explore the indoor pool area, but it looked clean. Had to ring for check in service. Breakfast area where the coffee is located wasn't clean at the time of check in. Room window was fogged due to double pane seal leak. TV was small. Power went out for an hour overnight. Breakfast was bland. No fresh fruit. English muffins were dry and hard, white bread and plain bagels. The juice machine wasn't cooling, so the apple juice was very warm. Plates were styrofoam. The exterior entrance doors on two sides of the building did not lock, you did not need your key to enter the building. Hallways had damp odor to them.

The property is very dated and rundown. It looks as if the hotel owner tried to make repairs on his own. It felt very cheap. As far as reusing the sleeves that they put the door cards into very cheap and rough, toilet paper. Dirty entry rugs. Towels were yellowed. I asked for a new one and they brought me back another yellow (stained) one. The free breakfast was absolutely horrendous. The only thing they had was two bins full of powdered, scrambled eggs with water floating in it. Along with a pitcher of warm milk. I assumed it to be from a mixture. The coffee was absolutely horrible. Cigarette burns in the carpet. The deadbolt on my door did not work. Both access doors are used to set card needed for entry. They were both broken so the place was not secure. The TV remote battery cover was broken and kept falling off. The lower panel on the air conditioner was taped on and kept falling off.

Lorilane

Upon entering our non-smoking room, we were greeted with an overwhelming smell of stale cigarettes. There were cigarette burns all over the bath tub, the towels were musty and full of yellowish stains, there was someone’s used bandaid in the dresser, the vents were covered in black lint, the hair dryer was coated in dirt from not being cleaned. The blankets, pillows, and sheets were ALL dirty with stains, one pillow looked like it was drug across the floor by a dirty shoe, as it had black dirt stains. The “secure doors” that require a key card, were never secured and anyone could walk into the building. There was a group of men slamming Coronas in the parking lot, with empty bottles everywhere. And there was a pile of pee stained mattresses welcoming us as we were directed to walk into through the back side door. Absolutely abominable. Do yourself a favor, spend an extra $100 and go one town over and you won’t have to park next to a truck riddled with bullet holes.
