Modern hotel lobby and they have a cute neighborhood cat who's often wandering the grounds. Staff was helpful. Fantastic views and breakfast buffet facing the church. We enjoyed the views from all the windows, so beautiful!

The carpeting could be updated and our room + bathroom was cramped for three. If you're mostly resting for the night this will work.

Arrived here after exploring the peninsula for the day. Pretty spot up high. Nice simple room and comfortable beds. Good shower and very nice breakfast. We ate at skippers. Delicious burgers. From here we headed south toward thingvellir national park the next day.

The reception/bar staff were very helpful and kind.
If I was being extremely picky, the only thing that was missing in the room was a fridge. I had my milk, yoghurt & medication to keep cold but other than that. Absolutely ideal place to stay and amazing views.

Very Nice location. Very good staff. Special mention about Maria at the desk. Helped us a lot move our second night reservation to another Foss. Btw I didn't realize booking with Foss hotel chains has this distinct advantage that if your plans change they transfer you to a new location based on availability. Very large rooms. Good amenities. Parking right in front of building. Overall highly recommend this Foss hotel.

I had a trip in Iceland, and had chosen fosshotel at other location as well. They had good reputation and they also upgraded me which we were quite delighted until we saw blood on the toliet cover. I think the staff just forgot to clean it….

Besides it, the breakfast is not comparable with the one at Reykjavik.

We checked in to Fosshotel Stykkishólmur late around 11 pm, and couldn’t find anything to eat around the area. We asked the front desk staff if their kitchen could make us pizzas. They were able to make us pizzas even though their kitchen closed at 9. I’m so grateful for that since we were traveling with kids. The hotel was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Also appreciated having lots of USB chargers around the room. We were there for the night only and didn’t use any extra amenities at the hotel, so cannot comment on that. We would definitely consider staying at this hotel if we travel to Stykkisholmur again.

Odd bathroom layout but OK stay.

Friendly and comfortable. Equivalent to a Hampton Inn (USA)…. The bathroom setup was odd — the shower soaked the entire floor despite the “door” being closed but there was nothing to stop the water from soaking the floor.

Fosshotel's property is in a great location and is easy walking distance to everything in Stykkisholmur. The onsite restaurant was great for breakfast and even helped us make pack lunches to take with us when we left for the day. The staff was friendly and helpful

Front desk folks are so nice! Room (a triple) was large and beds were good. Carpeting shows signs of wear and past visitors and some mold in the shower. Hotel has a great location, a restaurant on site and a bartender.

Lovely place.

Returned to visit Stykkisholmur 30 years after first visit. Was lucky with the lovely weather. Still a lovely place to visit, and the Fosshotel was excellent. Very nice hotel and very goopd friendly staff.

Good place to eat, not a real good night's sleep!!

The hotel is very nice, BUT the bedding was horrible!
The beds were 2 twin beds NOT locked together, and on a wood floor. At 66, and 300lbs, how do you think that worked!!!
The beds of course split apart the first time I even thought about rolling over.
There also was NO SHEETS. They have this sandpaper rough bed cover, (VERY ITCHY), and of course \"NO top sheet\". Just this very heavy comforter.
All in all, nice hotel as long as you \"don't\" want to get a good night's sleep..
Oh, asked the girl at the front counter, which way was North, so I could see the lights, she said, and I quote, \"I don't know\"
Say what!!! Course this was the same girl who put someone my size on a twin bed... Not sure I'd have her working customer service!!!! The cleaning staff had NO clue what I meant by NO SHEETS... Not sure where they get their staff...

Rooms were nice and clean and parking was easy, but parking spots are very tight (hello door ding on our rental car). We took the Ferry over and didn't get there until 9:30 so were disappointed there were no dining options (hotel restaurant closed by the time we checked in) and local restaurants were still open and the only grocery store had already closed. We were able to get ice from the bar and a couple snacks.
