We liked everything in this hotel, it was a very pleasant stay. Comfortable beds, spacious room, sparkling clean. Very pleasant staff, cheap parking nearby. We normally don't take hotel breakfasts, but were tired and took one to try. It was the right decision: fresh, tasty food, balanced choices. Overall excellent experience.

Yes, the room was clean. However, there was a stale smell of smoke in the room that the staff did take care of. The staff were excellen - helpful, pleasant and extremely professional. The breakfast was also excellent- a real pleasure I would say. The hotel is also in a really good location, situated as it is right on the edge of the historical centre with everything within walking distance.

Location was excellent. Everything was very clean and tidy. Staff were polite. Spacious room. Great value. Tea and coffee in room was a bonus, however, there was only fruit teas no breakfast tea. Breakfast choice was excellent with a fully stocked Nespresso coffee machine. The only thing missing in the property is a lounge bar, where you could just relax with a drink, without leaving the lovely Aircon environment.

What a find!

The hotel itself was great. The rooms are large and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. We were worried about the area when we arrived as it looked run down. Once we explored it was only a short walk to the main areas with lots of attractions and restaurants and the local cafes etc were good. We even found a Michelin star restaurant across the road…. Magoga restaurant is fantastic. Probably the best meal we’ve ever had!

Room was not as big as described a king. We were there for 2 nights. There was coffee, tea, sugar and 2 sachets of milk which we used on rhe first day. When we asked for more milk we were told by reception there was none! Whilst the hotel was clean the lifts were quite old and really need decotating. When we arrived dissappointed with the street where hotel situated. We got parking which was part of parking with the sister hotel Secotel Alfonso X111. Breakfast was also shared with Alfonso X111 dining area which is obviously the smater hotel! Breakfast was reasonable and the staff were really very good, polite and welcoming. Carlos 111 was fine for 2 nights but would not have liked to stay longer in this hotel. Price was very reasonable. Would recommend this hotel for a short stay.

Great spot in Cartagena

This was in a nice location for both a tourist and business traveler. It felt like a high value. There is an excellent restaurant on the same block in the main boulevard plus many coffee and croissant cafes. The hotel staff was friendly. Public spaces felt a bit sparse and dated, but the rooms had a recent update and were probably more photogenic than comfortable, but still nice. There was a thoughtful amount of storage for clothing and other items in our dual twin bed room. The street that this hotel is on is a bit dark but not dangerous. Getting a cab was simple in front of their connected sister hotel on the opposite street.

This is a lovely hotel in very good condition and my room was excellent. Reception staff, Francisco, Loli, Andrés and Jose were all very helpful.
A good 20 minute walk got you to the seafront but there are many interesting places to see before you get there. The museums and castles are all cheap to visit with much information in English but not always. The only thing the hotel lacked was a bar for the evenings but there are many options not far away.
I would stay in this hotel again. Oops, nearly forgot, breakfast is also very good with a wide choice available.

Great location and value for money

This hotel is easily accessible by road with parking at the hotel or nearby if full.
The hotel has a simplistic designer style with all the amenities that you would get in a hotel with a higher grade but without the high price.
The location is excellent for sightseeing, being a short walk from the old town.
The staff are very friendly and helpful giving lots of useful information.

Who knew?

This is an amazing value hotel. It appears to promise little BUT has been fully and extensively refurbished to a high standard. Everything was brand new and kept very clean. Bed very comfortable; shower excellent; super breakfast; reception very helpful. Well frequented by younger Spanish professionals. Location in the older part of town only 10 minute walk from main shopping streets. Recommend to anyone.

The hotel is fairly close to the station so convenient when arriving. Initially appears a little further from the main centre but once you get your bearing it’s not far at all. The hotel, itself, is a straightforward facility about which I have no complaints. Nice staff too.

The hotel Carlos III was a short 5 minute walk from Cartagena railway station and about a 15minute walk from the centre of Cartagena and the Roman Ampitheatre. The hotel staff Jose, Andres and Isabel were extremely welcoming and helpful concerning local restaurants and the provision of a map to navigate to the main museums and attractions. Check in and check out were quickly executed. The rooms were spacious and well equipped with every facility to make a comfortable stay including a kettle for tea and coffee. The bathroom was again well stocked and had a warm rain shower. The location was quiet and located just off the Av Alfonso XIII -a busy main road with restaurants, bars and shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would choose this hotel again when visiting Cartagena.

We enjoyed our stay in Cartegena, nice comfortable hotel with good amenities and staff. A tip, the entrance to the Roman Theatre is in the square opposite the town hall. Don't do as we did and walk all the way around it looking for an entrance and wasting over an hour.

Although the first impression (access to the hotel) is not remarkable, later it was only better. Room was very clean, the aircon worked very well. Bathroom in an immaculate condition, a fridge and a kettle for coffee/tea was provided. Very good breakfast. The only disadvantage - quite slow WiFi.

Stayed here whilst my friend was in the nearby hospital. Staff were all excellent and helpful and rooms were modern, clean & comfortable. It was a good base for getting around. Parking can be difficult with street parking a short walk away.

The only downside was that they don't have parking, We went to a near by public parking and paid 16 Euros. The city is very nice. I would definitely recommend this place to stay in Cartagena.

I didn't want to go home!

Very pleased with this hotel. Large bedroom with comfortable beds. Service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is about 10 minutes brisk walk from the main tourist sites and about 10 minutes also from the RENE railway station. Lots of paces to eat nearby catering for all budgets - from high class restaurants to inexpensive bars. I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Sercotel Carlos III.
