I waited to submit my review in case the hotel could fix our issues, but they did not. I do not recommend booking here. I booked this hotel for the hot tub and pool and beach front access. the pictures on the site looked nice, and the first two pictures of the stairs shown looked very short. It was very long and at a very high angle, making it very hard to go up and down. My room was very hot, the manager said “we don’t advertise ac”, i have been to hotels without ac during summer and it was never an issue. the pool and hot tub were closed and i was not sent any notice about that, i would have cancelled my booking. They also said the pool would be done by the 10th, when i arrived on the 12th, it was still closed. finally when just the hot tub opened on the 13th, we got in, and it was not in the best shape. Then getting out of the hot tub, i grabbed the railing and it was COMPLETELY loose. It swung about a 2 feet, causing me to almost fall. our room had multiple bugs in it, stains and a lot of patched up walls, and exposed wiring. We tried to talk to the manager and she was very elusive. Finally when we did speak with her, she said “well you stayed”, we had complained on the 13th, and were told she would be there in the morning, she was not. we went the next day and she said she said she would be giving us a 50% refund. we’ve been reaching out over and over and i got the email which says only 10%-15%. I don’t recommend booking here. If you have any problems manager won’t help

OCEAN VIEW RIGHT FROM OUR BALCONY ON SECOND FLOOR!
We’ve stayed here many times however right now, in all honesty, I think there are safety concerns with not being able to easily get into your room with new electronic entry (had to ask for help all three days we were there) along with the stairs are dangerous, some roped off….hot water goes out on you when you’re in the shower without warning from hotel management….the carpets are disgusting filthy dirty…I know it will be good when finished but I’d close at least the section (bldg) we stayed in, Room 230, until totally renovated.

Hotel staff had to keep apologizing and did try to help us as soon as we called when something was wrong but you really shouldn’t have to do that when you are trying to relax and vacation.

The beach view is as great. It’s such an awesome location and it’s a bummer they don’t put more efforts into maintaining the property and cleaning it better. I would say the cleanliness of the room was the biggest bummer. Also if I didn’t have my fiance with me I wouldn’t have felt safe/comfortable as a woman there. I’m glad we brought our own sheets and pillows or else we would not have slept in the beds. Like I said the view and location is amazing and we made due with what we had. We had a good time but we won’t be back to this specific hotel. I would read reviews next time and the reviews were accurate.

The building is kinda old and outdated. It’s on the beach with about a million steps down to the beach. Parking is tight but there is an overflow lot across the street. It’s ok for a one night stay but not a beach vacation. Unless we missed it there is also no hair dryer. The pool was being worked on and said it would be open two days prior but it wasn’t and the hot tub closed at 8:45 so I didn’t get to use it

It was awful. We didn’t stay. We got there, went into our room and started looking for a different place. We found one a hour later, left and didn’t look back. I felt like bugs were jump on my legs. The stair up to the rooms were not good either. It didn’t even look like the pictures shown. We felt very unsafe with our 8yr old in those conditions.

For a beach hotel, the tub, tile floor, and visible carpets were free of sand. The hotel has some wear, such as on the baseboards, but the place is a great beach getaway! Currently, the beach access requires 131 outdoor stairs, but there are multiple platforms to stop and pause while others pass close by if needed. The little coffee maker brewed nice and hot for each cup we made upon return to the room. Beautiful ocean view. So glad to discover that the building we were in this time had an elevator!

Our room had a two person hot tub in it, so we didn't use the hotel pool or hot tub.

As a whole, we had an excellent time and thought that the value for the room was excellent.

The property is older and could probably use some updating, but with updating, I think it will lose some of its charm and likely, all of it's value. It will become just another generic, expensive property on the coast.

All in all, the room was clean, comfortable, way bigger than we expected, and the ocean view was spectacular.

I loved the set up and the way the cottage was set up but it shoudve been cleaner and is in desperate need of an upgrade/makeover...it was dusty had crumbs left in the kitchen and the utensils were dirty 😔🙄😕 🙂‍↔️ I recommend bringing your own covers and pillows plus sprucing the place up before you get comfortable in there.

I left a water bottle in the room and didn't realize it until we were an hour down the road. The hotel either kept it or threw it away. I am back home, cleaned out the car, not here. I know I left it at the hotel, it was left on the table near the large windows, and I'm disappointed they didn't let me know they had it. I was going to send money to have it shipped home to me, but the hotel staff did not want to help me. I had to text 3 times to finally get a response that they threw it away. Or kept it. Oh and neither window opened in the main room. Both were broken.

I didn't like the fact that it listed to be a kitchenette, yet the stove did not work properly the refrigerator was not working at all and all the groceries we just had bought was ruined the first day we got there. There was animal urine smell all over the place and visible. They put white mini blinds in They put white mini blinds in the bedroom right under a bright light. We had a great stay that we even extended one more day! We stayed in the king room with a jetted tub since there was a deal on it and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better place. We will be coming back for sure. Unfortunately the pool and hot tub was out of order but the view made up for it. The only thing I would say probably is definitely bring your own pillows. Those were horrible pillows lol

First of all the view of the ocean was amazing! That's what you're paying for!

But, the room was very disappointing. First off, we could not get into our room. The lock was not working. When I called the front desk, he said that I would need to come and get a key that they were old locks and they were having problems with them sticking. If that were the case, why he didn't give us a key in the first place. But we were lucky that a staff member was out, and about and ask if we were having problems and came and helped us get the door open.
The room was filthy!
Dust & dirt in the corners of the rooms. The blinds, the furniture, the gas stove would not work and was full of dust, all over it.
The windows were very dirty inside and out. Windowsills look like they haven't been cleaned in months.
The furniture was very old and very uncomfortable.
The carpet had stains all over it.
The jetted tub was nice and worked well, but had cracks and was very old looking.
In the bathroom, the tub grip bar was broke off completely.
The kitchenette was very sparsely equipped. 2 forks, 2 spoons, 1 little 1 big. 1 wine glass, no glasses for like iced tea or anything. Just one very short little glass.
The bed.It was very uncomfortable hard, as a rock! I managed about three hours of sleep, in it.
There were no extra blankets. There were four pillows on the king size bed.But none of them fit, they were very mismatched.
When the neighbors were using their jetted tubs, it was very, very loud.

Wasn’t the best. I expected flooring to be solid floors as pictured and it was the old carpeted rooms smelling misty and old. The bathroom door would stay closed and was in need of replaced the grout was falling apart on the bathroom with an old 70’s tile job and. The Heaters were disgustingly with rust. The bedding was stained and old and they were not comfortable even for one night. I would spend the extra 10 for a different hotel. Just my 2 cents.

Our room was so filthy. There were crumbs and gunk everywhere and liquid splatter running down a wall. The shower had pink water stains in the tub. The staff opened our door multiple times when we were in our room and each time said they went to the wrong room. But it is unacceptable not to knock and just open the door. At that point, I did not feel comfortable telling the staff that our room was a disaster and unsanitary. Our bed and bed sheets had no issues thankfully but it was clear the room had not been deep cleaned in ages.

The people at the front desk were friendly but one guy gave us the wrong info re: the shuttle. We had to call and then filled him in afterwards. The room was pretty dirty. Debris on the floor, around the edges and in the tub. The window latch was broken so we couldn’t open it. The windows were very dirty, we couldn’t see the ocean. The wooden stairs were uneven and felt rickety. We were excited to stay here by the pictures on line but we’d likely never go back.

We mainly were there to sleep, were out during the day. We were feeling like something was biting us while we slept. Took sheets off didnt find anything. The morning we were leaving I noticed black things on the bed and they looked like fleas. The second night was terrible when we got people upstairs. They were stomping all night till like 4am. Everytime it sounded like the floor was going to break. Anyway besides that the view was beautiful, the pool was warm and the hot tub was the best. We got a room with jacuzzi and didnt even use it. Maybe next time. O also forgot to mention the pillows sucked they were flat and pillow cases didnt even fit the pillows. The pillows were so nasty I had to put a shirt over them. Maybe they can get some new ones.

I stayed as a single traveler and was looking forward to a nice stay at the coast. I ended up leaving a day early.
Pros; The staff were all extremely friendly.
Cons; although housekeeping does the best that they can do, what they are dealing with is a very run down hotel.
The carpet was FILTHY. This place is pet friendly and there were large dark spots everywhere. The bathtub was very old and discolored and constantly leaked, although it did look like they had cleaned it to the best of their ability. The walls were so thin I heard people speaking at regular conversation levels. The bathroom window did not lock but they had put a small piece of PVC pipe in it. The fireplace wasn’t working so maintenance got it hooked up and burning for me. They said that the previous guests asked for the gas to be turned off. They said not to leave the slider open because the exhaust from the fireplace would get sucked in. I left for a few hours and came back it smelled like gas in the room so I turned the gas off. The sliding door did not lock. Anyone with balconies next to you could easily hop over the railing onto the rooftop and hop on to your balcony and let themselves in. There is no interior lock on the front door for safety just the deadbolt that I’m sure the staff have a code for. I leaned the luggage stand against it and I put the table and chairs against the slider for peace of mind. I left early because I started getting uncomfortable there and just wanted to go home.

Great view! That is foremost the best attribute to our stay at Seahorse Oceanfront Lodge. The room was large and mostly as described. It is definitely outdated, but well taken care of and clean.
The pool, looked really nice, but sadly is a cold plunge experience; which was a disappointment.
The lodge proximity to everything was perfect for all the experiences we wanted to do.
Staff were friendly and helpful.

Microwave sparkling and making loud noise, door wouldn’t stay closed, pool and spa really need some cosmetic help, especially if they are the main selling point of renting the room. Staff at check in/out, great-no issues, the room however, was not clean. The shower had dirt and hair, the kitchenette had food all over, even on the utensils in the drawers. The window was open when we arrived, there was no screen on the window, and the room was cold. We turned on the heater that did not work, and they give you a paper thin blanket, so we were cold the majority of the night, while having moths literally flying in our faces, assuming from the open window. Will not be returning.

The room advertised fireplace heating. On arrival it had a sign stating out of service! I had to sleep fully clothed under the covers in order to be warm enough. The next morning they gave me a couple more blankets and said a maintenance person would check on the fireplace. That person didn’t show. There was mold all over in the shower stall. The valves in the bath wouldn’t close all the way leaving it leaking all the time. The spout wasn’t even sealed to the shower wall and the tub was stained from the constant leak. The bathroom window panes were broke and taped together. Kitchenette area has Formica broken off. The laminate floors were falling apart. The table in the room has been carved in by people. You could see daylight shine in around the closed door. The ceiling was poorly patched from a previous leak. The nice oven view was hindered by the picture window they never bother to clean! Terrible! Don’t stay there!!!

We arrived an hour after check in time only to be told that they were behind on housekeeping and they’d let us know when it was ready.
We decided to head to the outlets, about 6:15 still no call or text to let us know it was ready so I decided to call and they let us know we could come now.
Rooms are comfortable, front staff is nice. No complaints there. The rooms aren’t super clean and there was a slight smell to one side of the room. Countertops had salt or powdery stuff on it. Bathroom and beds were clean and beds shockingly comfortable.

Very old and outdated and very dirty. The tub was so dirty I actually wore my flip flops. Had to go get towels and then had to ask for a bag for the ice bucket that was also filthy.
Extremely over priced and would not recommend.

The new owners are in the process of updating the property.
We really like room 304, it has a separate bedroom, with the comfyest mattress that is awesome.
It has a small kitchen area with a two burner stove and small refrigerator with a tiny sink!
The balcony is awesome and has thee best views.
Could not get the TV to work, one staff stopped on his way home and he couldn’t get it to work either!
It really does need updated, huge stain in living room area, caulking on jetted tub looks like a two year old did it and I had to clean the hairdryer before I would even touch it, and please for the love of God clean the dang blinds, they are wood slated blinds and are caked with dust but at least this time there wasn’t a pancake in the microwave when we opened it to use it like last time we stayed there !!!
I don’t think we will stay here again 😒.

Arrived at 4:30 and was told the room was not ready. Offered another "just the same" room. I agreed. It was not the same. Booked a single BR with a king bed and fireplace. What I got was a single BR with 2 queen beds and no fireplace. After a four hour drive and hauling our suitcases and bags to the room, (we are in our 70's) we decided to stay. After check in I found hole in the bathroom door, a half done ceiling patch and picture windows you could barely see through due to paint over spray on the outside. In the kitchenette, we got 1 fork, 1 spoon, 2 butter knives and two 10 inch butcher knives. There were 2 wine glasses but only 1 juice glass and 1 plastic cup. Went to the office for silverware and was given 2 plastic forks. Coffee was good (pods) but that was about it. Overall the property was just poorly maintained. I realize it is an older property but some things are preventable.

Horrible place to stay. First they tell us late check in due to needing to clean rooms. Staff all walk around property doing nothing and all have cigs in their mouths. Finally got to room and it was filthy! Dishes were dirty, my daughter got bed bug bites, broken door and window. Dusty fans and dust everywhere. Staff were beyond rude. I tried to talk to them about it and all they said was “ok” and wouldn’t even make eye contact. At one point, the toilet clogged and they made me come to the desk to get my own plunger to fix the toilet. Wouldn’t even bring the plunger to the room. Towels had giant rips and holes in them. Will try to attach pictures. Pool was completely flooded over pool deck and was ice cold. Not to mention it was filthy dirty. Beyond rude staff and dirty place with bed bugs. Will NEVER go back. So sad I wasted my hard earned money on a shiy hole like this.

After reading the reviews, I was indecisive about whether I should go or eat the cost, but to my surprise, they are under the new management of Frank Hotels. The beds were dated, but very bouncy. The electric you could tell could use an upgrade, as the air fryer I brought with me, as well as the Keurig in the room, made the light above the kitchenette dim every time there was a load on the system.

The Hot Tub was fantastic, though, for having a chlorine sensitivity, not having access to the hot tub except through the pool was harrowing for me.

Those stairs to the beach, though, are no joke!

All in all, except for parking, it was a great experience.

Only two things were Even remotely acceptable.
The amazing and the staff. Brandy was understanding magnificent and informative.
This place needs a lot more help in the housekeeping and in the maintenance and it would be magnificent. The rooms are so outdated and trashed.

Their cleaning staff quit in the middle of their shift so they had someone else clean. We were missing trash bags, towels, found sunflower seeds by the bed, hair in the shower, old used soap bar, the jet tubs jet didn’t work, which was the main reason we rented this one, and the door took 10 tries to get unlocked because the door wasn’t aligned well from what I could guess was a door kicked down. The view was beautiful but the yard was full of cigarette butts.

The kitchen was nice, but not as stocked as before.
The windows, only one opened and my husband had to close it the mechanism that broke.
Mentioned all of this to the lady at the desk he was nice and appreciated that I told her. We have another trip planned in August for the same room. You do need to bring your own kitchen towels they don't have any 🙂
