There was no one in the office to check us in, just a note on the door with a number to call. The maintenance man came to check us in, but couldn't find our reservation. The bathroom tile was cracked, but things seemed pretty clean.

When I checked into my room, I noticed that the DIRECTV did not work in my room. I contacted the front desk and they had maintenance come up and look at it. An effort was made to fix it. The guy was cool but couldn’t figure it out. I asked if they could return the following day to correct it while I was away and they never did during my 3 day stay. The heat/AC unit also did not work correctly. The heat function did not work. They had a space heater in the room, which I had to use because it was cooler weather. I could see light coming from around the door due too a bad seal. It also made the traffic noise fairly loud since it was next to the highway. I had to checkout early on my last day and found the office door was locked and the light off so I had to return my room key in a drop box and wasn’t able to speak about my experience with them. So unfortunately they also weren’t given the opportunity to make it right with me. Overall, I think the staff I interacted with were nice but I probably won’t return because the motel needs work. If you just want a cheap room, then this is your jam.

Hair dryers are no longer available in the room. We had to go get towels for the room. Shower had no hot water. Had to put on the new roll of toilet paper when we first got there. We have stayed here before and had a good experience. This time was a deal breaker. Maybe it changed hands? We won't go back again.

We have stayed here last summer and it was great. My only issue was the mattress in our room was a little too hard for mine and my husband's comfort. The owner and her family are super nice and sweet. Rooms are clean and plenty big that your not banging around against walls and the showers have hot water and great pressure! Already booked our room for next years week long county fair!

The woman who checked me in was very nice, and friendly. The Budget Inn met up to my standards considering I was in town just for a few days for my son’s homecoming at his University. The only thing I didn’t like about the area is that it was really difficult to get an Uber. I booked this place because it was 5 minutes away from my son’s college. I would stay again but this time book a rental

The room was VERY clean, but there was no alarm clock and the TV remote needed a battery as per the notice on the screen. Also there basically almost nothing to watch on the tv other than commercials, hardly any real channels to watch any programs of interest. All we got was NOT AVAILABLE, channel after channel.

Property was very clean. Bed was comfortable. No chair or table with chairs in the room except an office type chair at the desk that the TV was on but there was a whole corner of the room with nothing in it. I do not like sitting on the bed as it hurts my neck and back and if I were to sit in the chair at the desk then no one would be able to watch TV. Also the bathroom door did not shut. The coffee pot was on top of the fridge and there was no where to plug it in so I had to move it over to the night stand every morning to make coffee. These were just minor inconveniences but the room was very comfortable. Enjoyed our stay.

Nice stay for the price

What a fantastic little place. It doesn’t look like anything special from the outside, but it was very nice in the rooms. A very sweet lady checked us in, offered us waters, and even had little Tulip cookies for the Tulip Time Festival in Pella. Super sweet and kind and made us feel welcome. Bed was comfortable and the stay worked out great.

Only complaint was the overwhelming fragrance smell when we first got to the room - might be a cleaner or detergent. I am sensitive to smells and get migraines so we left for dinner and had to leave the window open and return with our own cinnamon air freshener (helps mask). My husband could smell it so but wasn’t super bothered by it, but this was the only thing I would improve.

Amazing location about a 5 minute drive to the university. The team here, does a very detailed clean of the rooms. It has been updated. WiFi is a little spotty on the end room. Only complaint I have is the shower head is not attached to the wall. This was our second stay here and they didn’t fix it in almost a year.

But the rooms are clean, the beds are nice and there is great water pressure.

Would have stayed a third time but they have jumped the prices a bit more than I like for a no extras stay.

Not So Good

I book the room and got confirmation for the reservation 20 minutes before I arrived, yet when I got there I was told that someone had just rented that room a few minute before I got there and had \" beat me to it\". I had requested a quiet room with a comfortable bed, which the hostess confirmed my preferences when I checked in. The bed was very comfortable, but the room was facing the very busy highway that ran very close to the hotel, so I could hear all of the very loud traffic noises during the entire one night stay. When I checked out the same hostess, whom had given my reserved room to someone else and had confirmed my preference of having a quiet room, asked how my stay was. I told her about the traffic noise and she said I should have told her and she would have moved me to an upstairs room. Blah

SIMPLE room with king bed, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, refrig with freezer on top, (I could of probably put half gal ice cream & something else in it, good size), recliner, 2 end tables with lights,& outlets, good hot water, good lighting, Good size tv with many channels to watch. There are a couple of cubbies but no dressers, hanging area but no hangers, but i didnt need any of those. had a ground floor room. Stayed 2 days. Only complaint I really had was kinda noisy, as main hwy close. But the gal was VERY accommodating, when i mentioned it, she got a fan for me & I slept Good!! Price was good! Lots of construction people staying, but she assurd that it is very safe, has cameras all around. Close to (right next to)gas/convience store, in town lots of restraunts, walmart, etc. I would definitely stay there again!! Because of the awesome service!!👍

Nice People but Average Stay

I would consider this stay average. When we got to the motel, the man at the counter had to contact someone and have me talk to them via speaker phone. Apparently, our booking was canceled by them because of an issue with the suite that we had booked. She tried calling but indicated that the call would not go through. I repeated the number on the booking and it was the correct number. They booked us a different (standard room) at the normal price of that room instead. I kind of feel like we should have gotten a discount due to the inconvenience. We also had to wait until the desk person showed up to check us in as she was at an appointment and there was no one else there to assist. We were given the room key but needed to wait to complete the check in. Once the desk person came in, she did not have us in the system as having a room and we had to start from scratch. We finally completed the check in. The room itself was fine, just your normal small room which was comfortable enough and clean. The outside was a bit cluttered with what looked like old carpeting, some furniture and some mattresses off to the side. This could of been from our original booked room that had the issue but I do not know. The coffee cups and toilet paper were not replenished when the room was cleaned. We ran out of toilet paper and it took approx. 5 minutes for the person at the front desk to find us a roll. No coffee cups and office still locked at 7:30 am.

The owners are lovely people who are extremely accommodating. I appreciate the work they've put into this building to make things cleaner than before (stayed here before they took ownership) and update the facility as much as one can with a building of this age. Don't expect the frills of a newly built chain location and you won't be disappointed. This is exactly what you need for a shower and sleep.
