We had a wonderful stay at Miyajima Villa. The hotel perfectly combines modern comfort with traditional Japanese charm, and the atmosphere on Miyajima made the experience especially memorable. The staff were warm and attentive, and everything was thoughtfully arranged to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Miyajima.

The hotel is fantastic. Location is ideal, steps away from the ferry terminal and a short walk from the shore across from the O-torii gate. Staff is always helpful and courteous, the room was wonderful, with a view of the harbor. There is a bar that serves good food next to the lobby, and a great bakery for breakfast. The one thing we would recommend the hotel to modify is the following: There is a nice formal restaurant in the basement level that is supposed to be really good, and every sign and reference to it mention it closes at 9pm. However, last entry is at 7pm, and this is not mentioned anywhere until you actually get to the restaurant. We got there at 7:40pm, so for us it was too late, and we were unable to enjoy the restaurant. We will have to do it next time! And by the way, we would definitely stay at Miyajima Villa Hotel again. Highly recommend.

Perfectly located across the road from the Ferry (no issue with noise). Nice sized rooms, perhaps in need of a little refresh (room door did not seal very well, large gaps around the edge and bottom which meant could hear corridor noise). Buffet style dinner and breakfast was amazing, so tasty & such a good variety. Really enjoyed that the ingredients were locally sourced. Would absolutely stay here again!

The location of the hotel was convenient. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had two room, one room had a massage chair and the other, the beds reclined with a push of a button. There laundry room was clean and the washer and dryer worked great. The pastries from the bakery were fresh and delicious. The staff were wonderful! They were kind, helpful and sooo nice. When we left the owner walked us to the door and stood there waving and watching us till we arrived to the entrance of the port, he bowed at us and waved one final time. I highly recommend staying here.

The hotel was really close to the Ferry Terminal and we were able to drop our bags and head off quickly to see the sites. Restaurants close early on the island so eat around 5-6pm. Staying overnight lets you go up the ropeway at 9am before the day crowds hit (they are substantial). We went over on the JR Ferry and came back on the fast boat to the Hiroshima Peace Park. The Ropeway is excellent. Hotel breakfast is very good.

Location: it's a few steps from the ferry/boat ports, so you don't have to lug your bags through the island. All the sensational things to see on Miyajima are in walking distance.

Food: I only had breakfast, but people seemed to like the cocktail bar too. Breakfast wasn't complex: half continental, half Japanese, all fresh and good. I appreciated the salads every morning.

Extras: the cheapest coin laundry I ever seen in Japan. Free drinks (including 10+ types of coffee/tea, soft drinks) and ice cream in the lobby.

Rooms: much bigger than the Japanese average, with a fantastic bathroom and an enourmous bed. I personally didn't like the pillows, but that was survivable.

Staff: the best thing in all these good things: everyone was always 100% helpful and kind.

If you come to Miyajima (and you really should), this is the hotel to stay.

The hotel is very conveniently located, just to the left of the ferry exit. The staff are very friendly and all speak English. The rooms are very clean, and the hot spring baths are a real treat! There's a small bar on the first floor, as well as a lounge for guests to use, offering a variety of free drinks, coffee, tea, and even ice cream. There's also a restaurant on the basement floor, offering a buffet-style Japanese and Western breakfast and dinner, with a wide variety and delicious food. I'd definitely stay here again if I had the chance. Highly recommended!

The staff rarely speak English. It’s very hard to communicate with them. They gave us a room next to the elevator. It’s very noise early in the morning and late in the evening. I spoke with them 2x about the noise。They didn’t do anything about it. The breakfast selection is very limited compared to other hotels given the same price.

Check in at 3pm but you can rest at the lounge area for drinks and ice cream. Walking to the Torri gate takes about 10-12min but lots of interesting shops to browse thru. The magnificent Torri gate is definitely worth seeing and you can go out at low tide.
The miyajima JR ferry terminal is just across the hotel which made access easy.
Dinner at hotel was buffet style , not say plenty food options but most items are done well. Same about breakfast too.
You will not regret taking a room facing the ocean. Pay that bit more. Hospitality at hotel is excellent.

After battling crowds in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima, Miyajima and the Hotel Miyajima Villa were just what the doctor ordered. So much that as soon as we checked in for a two-night stay, we extended by an additional night.

Ideally located just steps from the ferry and a short walk to the island's attractions, the hotel is immaculate, comfortable and staffed by very helpful, courteous staff. The buffet breakfast got each day off to a good start and our afternoon soaks in the top floor onsen were a great way to get rid of the kinks.

It's a high end hotel with an onzen, and a 1 minute walk from the ferry terminal. The high room prices reflect this. Hikes on the island are really great, and the Itsukushima Jinja Otorii (Grand Torii Gate) makes for a great photo opportunity. The wild but very tame deer are cute but of course certain foolish/ignorant tourists insist on feeding them even though it is forbidden (and moreover bad for the deer).

Everything about this stay was excellent. The hotel and rooms were nicely appointed with amenities and the food (bar, restaurant, and bakery) was all excellent. The onsen was fantastic, very well maintained and clean. Additionally, the location right next to the ferry and just minutes from the main shopping arcade was perfect. Itsukushima shrine and Mt Misen should not be missed! We wanted a few quiet days in between the big cities, and this hotel is the one to stay at!

Very close to the ferry when you arrive. The staff are lovely and helpful, however, the rooms are a bit strange. Our queen room with Mountain View didn’t have a window (other than the one in the bathroom), and the view was of shrubs outside, not mountains. Maybe because we were on the second floor…
Breakfast buffet was very plain for the price you pay for this hotel, if you have to pay extra for the breakfast, I strongly suggest you skip it, it’s not worth the price.
It’s a decent hotel but I don’t think it’s good value for money.

Given that it was raining when we arrived we were glad the hotel was right by the ferry station. Rooms were very comfortable. We booked dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Both were buffets, but the selection was very good and it felt like a choose your own kaiseki. The service was also excellent, the front desk helped us make a restaurant reservation for the next day. The onsen is as pictured, with separate sides for men and women. Outfits were provided that you could wear to the onsen.

The location is ideal as it is directly across the street from the ferry. The shopping street and the famous Itsukushima Shrine is just a short walk away.
I stayed in a room that had the bed in an upstairs loft. Things to consider if you book this room are the stairs are pretty steep and it’s not a small flight of stairs. The shower is separate from the toilet. The shower opens up to the hallway In the room, there is no separate area to change in privacy.
I loved the bed, I think the mattress was on the floor or only slightly lifted off the floor but is was very comfy.
I did eat at the buffet for dinner one evening and I didn’t enjoy it for the price however it did include Beer, wine and some spirits so if you are a drinker then it may be worth it.
Other than the buffet you really can’t go wrong with this hotel. The staff there are the best and I look forward to going back!!

Hotel Miyajima Villa is a well located hotel just across the street from the ferry landing. The room I had was interesting. It was on the top floor and was a loft room. I found it fun but would recommend other rooms to anyone who has a problem climbing a steep staircase/ladder to the bed level.
The staff is excellent. There is a little bakery in the lobby that sells delicious bread. The restaurant is in the basement but is excellent.
On the topmost floor there is an onset bath that looks out over Hiroshima Bay. It is an artificial onset but the water is very soothing to the skin.

Dinner options seem to be limited on the island but if you love oysters you’re in for a treat! Nice Place But Nothing to Do After Hours

Hotel convenielty located directly across from ferry pier and a short walk to everywhere in town. Room more than adequate and loved free tea/coffee room service with lots of comfortable seating both inside and outside. Disappointed there was no live music during our stay but pleasant piped in background music made place conducive to relaxing and chatting. Robe and blankets provided for outside evening sitting.

Rooms large enough and clean but bathroom/shower areas a little cramped but adequate.

Onsite onsen fabulous perk and loved it.

Did not have onsite breakfast or dinner but enjoyed the bakery every morning with coffee and bar with lite kitchen service more than acceptable and prices reasonable.

Only two restaurants in town open for dinner made things tight and food was just ok. Place rolls up the carpet after 5pm and becomes a ghost town. If we did it again would only spend 0ne night on Miyajima instead of two and add a night to Hiroshima or other where more is happening and hotels cheaper with more to offer inside and out.

All good except the food. Make sure you get dinner somewhere else and don’t go to the buffet! We should have checked the price beforehand and looked at the food available as it cost a fortune for what it was and was terrible. The write up makes it sound like there is a top chef at the hotel - this is not the case. (note - there is not much choice for food in the evening on Miyajima as it caters to day trippers!).

Miyajima Villa was stunning. We had such a wonderful stay. So much care has gone into making guests feel comfortable and at home. Beautiful, relaxing and a right next to the ferry. Lovely hotel on Miyajima island just opposite the ferry terminal. Newly renovated and spacious room for Japanese standard. We were pleasantly surprised as the rate included dinner and breakfast, both excellent buffet with a wide variety of food. Dinner with unlimited alcohol including whisky. The scenic onsen was lovely and not to be missed. Oh and do try the in room massage chair! All in all an excellent hotel and would love to come back.

Japanese style done with European flair.

An ordinary hotel from the outside but inside is a different story. Beautiful rooms and with a great of thought put into the details in the room, including a massage chair! However it is on the higher end of the scale for cost and the 3pm earliest check in needs to be improved on especially as it’s a 10 am check out. Also a little bit of English language skills by the staff would have been appreciated, even if it’s was just an information card.

Great hotel

Wonderful hotel, incredible attention to detail and spotlessly clean. Had a water view room very spacious. Booked half board breakfast and dinner were great. Dinner free flow sake, wine and beer. Onsen in the TOP floor has great views of the water and opens at 05:00 for a nice soak before breakfast. Hotel has a bakery in reception offering lovely fresh foods.

New hotel, nice.

Sea view room is different from picture. Blocked by tree and a lot of traffic.

Buffet is just so so.

Overall, nice stay. Very comfortable and new! Nice and attentive staff!!! Recommend!

Enjoyable stay in Miyajima

located just next to the pier, clean, room a bit small as we have 4 people staying in one room, average quality of Onsen, helpful and friendly staff. The hotel will be reopening in Sep2017 due to renovation.

Comfortable stay on this little treasure island

We have visited Miyajima with friends and got a room in this hotel really last minute. What was pleasing is that the staff made an to make sure that the traditional Japanese food was adopted somwhat to a wstern taste. The hotel is really close to the pier which is a plus and somewhat away from the busy high street. Grat experience overal.
