As a fan of Leica cameras, a trip to Wetzlar to see the Leica museum was a bucket list item of mine. Staying in the Ernst Leitz hotel, was amazing! It was very clean with a lot of character. The room itself was very spacious and the staff was very accommodating. In my opinion, photographers MUST visit the museum, and stay at this hotel.

This was the best hotel so far during our two-week trip to various cities in Germany. My friends and I were photography fans so we tried staying at this hotel which located within the Leica global headquarters campus. There was a Leica museum right across. The hotel though is remotely located away from downtown Wetzlar but one can take a taxi from the Wetzlar train station for an average of 15 euros. The hotel can also call a taxi for you if you want to go to downtown.

It's beautiful and modern with a nice check-in staff. One complaint is that I needed the hotel to call a taxi for me to pick me up in town and bring me back to the hotel and the person on the phone at the hotel refused. I'm sorry, but this is a simple and valid request but they couldn't bother to get me a taxi to bring me back! When a guest asks for something legal, you do it. Full stop.

Quiet, minimalistic, clean

Hotel design was clean and minimalistic. Love the photographs used as part of the decor. Facility is clean and staff is nice. The hotel provided sparkling water as a welcoming gift. It’s located within Leitz-Park with a restaurant and cafe attached and nearby. The museum, gallery and camera stores are within less than 10 minutes walk. You’ll definitely enjoy this place if you enjoy photography work. There’s public transportation to town center, which takes about 20 minutes, but you may also take a long walk. I’d recommend it!

Only if you are a Leica lover

I don’t usually review anything bad but this one is something I have to comment. This hotel would have to be the worst “premium” hotel I’ve stayed in my 25 years of weekly travel globally.

Upon checking in we were just given our key cards with no info on restaurant opening hours, no room service, wifi, their supposed no room make up/cleaning bcos of covid, and there’s nothing in the room including paper pad and a pen. We were told off pretty rudely about availability of dinner when checking in that we either go eat now or after 8pm.

Second night we went back to hotel for dinner and we’re only told the restaurant wasn’t opened. It’s 7.30pm on Sat and we had to go all the way to the old town for food. We can’t even get a cup of coffee at the hotel .

When responded by the hotel manager about our issues she said it’s part of covid hence no room cleaning . But hey at least we should know when booking or checking in. The tone of the email were not very sincere either.

Upon checking out i walked by the cleaner cleaning or polishing the floor. I apologised that I needed to walk by and she clearly showed me a very agitated look

I feel a sense of discrimination at this hotel or arrogance . Certainly not a place I’ll return only bcos unless I’m a Leica lover.

On the bright side the food and restaurant service were great . The waitresses at the restaurant are the only thing that made me feel that I’m in a hotel throughout our stay

Nice clean Hotel in a cool modern area. Be aware the Hotel ist outside City Center and you need a Car for almost everything. Reception closes at 6pm on Weekends!

A very clean-cut design hotel, totally in the Leica-style.
All the functions you appreciate, as frequent traveler, is spot on. A good bar end restaurant, compensated for the ‘out of city’ location.
Personally I find the very ‘sterile’ design a little too sterile.

Snyggt och proffsigt hotell med stort hjärta

Allt perfekt, världens finaste atmosfär med det finaste hundmottagande vi erfarit. På rummet väntade två hundskålar och en liten tygpåse hundmat.

Men utöver det - trevlig och proffsig personal och en helt suverän frukostbuffé. Tesla-laddare runt hörnet gör det till ett mycket bra hotell vid roadtrips.

Det enda som inte var perfekt var att kuddarna var så fluffiga att de nästan blev platta när man lade ned huvudet - men sådant är ju en smaksak. Vi kommer att försöka övernatta här igen vid varje möjligt tillfälle, bästa hotellet på hela resan.

Dieses Mal war der Service an der Rezeption und im Restaurant schrecklich. Bei unseren Aufenthalten zuvor, war er deutlich besser. Unser Kühlschrank im Zimmer war nicht vorhanden, da er defekt war. Das größte Problem am Service war, dass sie nicht kommunizieren konnten und die Probleme nur sehr träge gelöst haben.

Es gab unmögliches im Oskar Restaurant : 1. keine Kartenzahlung vorübergehend möglich. 2. In der Getränkekarte steht Mineralwasser - es wird Tafelwasser serviert - aus Wassersprudler - trotz vorheriger Ansprache - würde man das Betrug nennen? 3. Weißwein Leitz steht in der Weinkarte aber gibt es nicht - sehr dumm für ein Konzept das darauf aufbaut. Frühstück ist gut und reichlich und bietet gute Abwechslung.

Sehr schöner Aufenthalt im Leitz-Park

Für die Besucher im Leitz-Park ist es ein perfekter Ort zur Übernachtung. Man kann gemütlich Museum und Ausstellungen direkt in 2 Gehminuten erreichen. Es gibt auch Rabatt im Museumshop für die Übernachtende. Sehr großzügiges Zimmer mit bequemem Bett. Das kontinentale Frühstück hat wirklich tolle große Auswahl. Sowohl Empfang als auch Personal im Restaurant waren sehr nett. Ich kann mir empfehlen und wir würden gerne wieder buchen.

Premier séjour super mais celui-ci désagréable

Bel hôtel au Leica/Leitz Park.
C’est mon deuxième séjour et le premier était excellent mais celui-ci beaucoup moins agréable.
Le réceptionniste m’a réservé le parking souterrain payant alors qu’il y avait de la place à l’extérieur puisque je suis arrivé le vendredi après-midi.
La bouteille d’eau plate est vendue 7,5€ et c’est inadmissible.
Le samedi soir, il y avait un mariage dans la salle de conférence. Pas dormi jusqu’à 3h du matin.
J’ai réservé une suite qui était au deuxième étage et malgré cet emplacement, j’ai pas pu dormir.

Hotel in Ordnung, Getränkeverfügbarkeit schlecht

Check Inn, Zimmer, Hotel, alles absolut ok. Dann bestellte ich eine Flasche Sekt von der Karte für immerhin gut 80,-. Leider nicht verfügbar. Dann bestellte ich einen Cremant für knapp 80,-. Auch ausverkauft. 2 Sekt/Schaumwein auf der Karte unter 100,-, beide ausverkauft. Die angebotene Alternative war Champagner für lag bei 199,-. Mehr als das doppelte. Der Barkeeper sah das anders, er kann nicht dazu, verkauft nur was es gibt, ich könne mich beim Management beschweren. Ich finde es unverschämt wenn der günstigste angebotene und verfügbare Sekt o.ä. bei 199,- beginnt, und dann die Art und Weise damit umzugehen. Schade, denn alles andere war einwandfrei.

Das Zimmer war groß und sauber, wirkte jedoch etwas leer und nicht so gemütlich, da der Eingangsbereich sehr groß und wenig ausgestattet war. Das Personal an der Rezeption sowie beim Frühstück war nicht unfreundlich, jedoch auch nicht sehr hilfsbereit. Das Frühstücksbuffet war eher quantitativ und nicht sehr qualitativ. Für eine Übernachtung zweckmäßig, würden wahrscheinlich aber nicht erneut dieses Hotel wählen.

Für so ein großes Hotel und mit der Kategorie, sollte es eigentlich einen Shuttlebus geben, welcher einige Male am Tag fährt. Die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel lassen nämlich zu wünschen übrig.

Ein tolles Hotel, gefühlte 5-Sterne! Schöne, große Zimmer, gute Klimaanlage. Sehr leckeres Frühstück mit viel Auswahl. Die beiden Kaffee-Automaten haben funktioniert. Die \"warmen\" Speisen waren auch heiß genug. Die Parkplätze gab es zu einem fairen Preis. Tolle Umgebung mit den Leitz/Leica-Museum.

Leider schlechter geworden.

Kein ZDF am Fernsehen, das Housekeeping eine Katastrophe, sonst alles okay inklusive eines fantastischen Frühstück.
Aber die Sterne müssen erst wieder erarbeitet werden, dank schlecht eingeschulten externe Mitarbeiter, die leider jegliche Hotelkenntnisse vermissen lassen

Virkelig flot værelse - ser nærmest nyt ud med lækkert stort badeværelse og lille tekøkken. Super dejligt hotel til en overnatning med familen. God opredning til børnene på en sovesofa. Hotellet er rent og pænt og interessant da det ligger i forbindelse med Leica World

Helt okej övernattning. Snabb incheckning. Stort fint rum med bekväma sängar. Fanns parkering på baksidan. Vi nyttjade inte frukosten då det kostar för mycket i Tyskland. Hundvänligt.

Zimmer sind zwar groß, wirken aber nackt. Kein Teppich o.ä.
Das Restaurant kann nicht bewertet werden da
man selbst als Hausgast keinen Tisch bekam.
Weder zum Abendessen, noch zum Frühstück.
Interessanterweise werden dann aber für 16 externe Personen Tische reserviert. Na prima, vielen Dank auch. Das Personal bemühte sich mit gebremstem Einsatz eine Lösung zu finden…ohne Erfolg.
Das Hotel liegt am Stadtrand. Drum herum ist fussläufig fast nix…
Nettes neues Hotel, aber für mich keine Option mehr.

Poor Customer Listening

The hotel looks good.
However, the staff is not willing to listen the customer when issues happen.
Especially, the internet connection was so unstable, that I had to reconnect several times during the video calls I had.
The answer from the hotel is that this is their 'normal behaviour', this is it.

Sehr schön augestattete, große Zimmer. Die Ausstattung war neuwertig. Den Punktabzug beim Personal habe ich vorgenommen, da das Zimmermädchen um 8.30 die Tür geöffnet hat, obwohl wir im Raum waren und noch deutlich Zeit zum Checkout hatten.
