Hotel has some construction going on. Room had construction dust in corners, along baseboards, on door hinges. Room needed a thorough cleaning. Lighting was very inadequate and dim. No tissues in room.

I actually called what I thought was the front desk and asked if they had rooms with hot tubs in them and they said yes but they are all booked up but there’s a hot tub onsite! I even asked if it was a nice hot tub and they said it was! So I told person I was going to go book on hotels.com cuz I could get a better rate! So I did, checked into my room and first thing I did was get in my shorts and head down to hot tub and as I entered pool area no hot tub! I’m currently staying in an rv and am sick so I got this so I could relax and mellow out while being sick but nope! So yes I’ve done everything you probably are thinking why didn’t he do this well the answer is I did! I called before and did everything right and was told that maybe the next day they could make it right and comp me a room that I wanted! Yesh right! When I call back the second day the manager on duty hangs up on me because it’s to hard for her to just comp me a room and have me pay difference today! So here I am telling you this whole process they have is both BS and criminal to take a persons money then blame it on everyone else but yourself just to make a buck!

My room was very nice and clean. The only thing I didn't care for was constantly hearing slamming doors at night and early in the morning. And the heat registers in the room were quite loud when they would kick on and off.

Breakfast was poor only fresh fruit was oranges there was only eggs and sausage patties for a warm breakfast. The room was dirty. Found stuff by the beds left from previous people. The bathroom door like to stick closed and there was a large crack in it. The water pressure for the shower was horrible.The pool was not that warm and there was no hot tub. The sauna could only fit two people so if some else was In There you could not use it. Checked out a day early. Still had paid for the room but did not want to stay there any longer. Parking was good and good location for gas, food and shopping close by

The AmericInn was not a great place to stay. Our room looked as though it was still in a renovation process that had not been completed. Our room literally had blue painter's tape connecting a new piece of carpeting to an old one along with chunks of trim and other aspects that felt like we were staying in a room stuck between the old room and whatever the renovated room was supposed to look like. This hotel was cheap so I guess it was a bed to crash on but was not a place I would choose to stay again.

The young man at the desk wasn't very friendly-didn't appear customer like we interrupted him!
As far as the room-looks like it was going through a remodel as there was carpet tape on the floor and not very secure. The lighting was horrible!! Could not read in bed and light switch inconvenient!

The room was overpriced. The baseboard heaters were broken. There was 2 different carpet patterns held down by painters tape. The floorboard base boards were missing. The reading lamps by the bed were so high up i couldn't reach them standing by the bed. The bed frame was held together with tape. Breakfast was nice. The TV in the room was good. The bathroom mirror was nice too.

There was no air conditioning due to shutting them up for the winter by mid October. The room was extremely hot unless you opened a window, which only helped so much. The hot tub was closed. Nothing great for the price.

We didn't even go in... The outside looks like a dump! Paint peeling off the building, air conditioner covers all chipped and junky looking. Shame on you Hotels.com for even considering this dump on your site. AND...don't ask for a refund because you're screwed. This is the 2nd and last time we will be using Hotels.com. The first time was also a Wyndham property in Albequerque, NM. which was nothing more than a crack den. Really, we were offered drugs in their parking lot. The sheets had foot prints, the light fixtures were falling down. Stay away from Hotels.com AND any Wyndham property.

The morning after my stay, as I am taking off the sheets off the bed to get ready to check out. I saw that there was a giant nasty stain on the mattress, that covered more than 1/4 of the bed. If I would off seen this when I got there, I would have never stayed there. I did let the office know and I am expecting a call from the manager. I am never staying there again. Very disappointed!

I would never stay here again. I was charged double for my stay. When I brought it to the hotels attention they told me there was a glitch in the system, blamed Expedia and told me I would receive a refund. It’s been 3 days and I still have not received my money back. I paid 1000 for a 2 night stay when it should have been 500.

When I got there they tried to tell me that the check in time wasn’t til 3 when I had proof of it showing it would be 2. They closed the Hot tub, if I knew that I would have stayed somewhere else. When I booked I picked a double queen but the front desk only had it as a queen room with two adults so I was upset about that. The blankets were very thing, even tho we had the ac running it barely got cold in the room, the bathroom light was flickering. Overall would not recommend staying here. Overpriced.

A very nice property, located near restaurants, shopping, etc. Well appointed room, spacious with separated bath area. Comforable bed, excellent towels, comprehensive breakfast in a large area with adjacent sunny porch area for a windowed overview of the northern part of the city. Excellent staff and housekeeping made our stay very pleasant. I recommend this property.

Bad experience right from arriving. Desk person told us we were not supposed to have pets, even though it was listed on the site we reserved the room through. She made us feel like we were doing somethning wrong even though we explained it was listed on the site as a pet friendly hotel. They were also then going to charge us an extra $20 fee because we had are dog, and from this point if any buddy sneeks in a dog they will get charged a $250 fee. They said they remodeled, which basically was just an unprofessional repaint and added some new things on the walls. There is piant splattered on door frames and other stuff as well. They had dumpsters and garbage all over the parking lot from their remodel. The remodel was the reason supposedly for not allowing dogs anymore and the high price for the room. Rooms are small and very limited continental breakfast.

Luckily I had Orbitz rewards to save on this stay. However I was reminded at check in and check out how I used a third party and quite rudely at check out. We came for the hot tub which was not in use and seemed to be out for a while with no notice. The pool area was honestly kind of gross with stains all over I used it any way because I paid to stay there.

Tried to plug in our chargers for our cellphones and several of the outlets did not work as the connections were too loose. The light bulb in the lamp above the coffee maker was out.

Carpet was dusty around furniture/beds. Office chair in room had crumbs on it. Crumbs under night stand. Mens underwear under bench next to the wardrobe. Lipstick case under/next to bed. First I had a booked through Expedia here, expecting to pay when I get to the hotel, someone from the hotel called and HOUNDED, me for my method of payment. Why have the option to pay at the hotel, when that wasn’t the case, on top of that, the card I gave wasn’t the card I wanted to pay with, she charged the card full price before I even got to the hotel and even explained to her, you can have it on file, but this isn’t the one I’d like to pay with. Not a good experience before we even got there. Now check in was fine. I just was very disappointed in my room, compared to other Americans this hotel wasn’t as nice as others, not updated, old features, small tv, and the bed was horrendous, was not a comfortable stay. Also, the surrounding area doesn’t have a lot of choice for DoorDash or any thing like that, so be prepared to buy a lot of snacks. We won’t be staying here again, way too expensive for the quality. I’d rather drive from Duluth and spend the same amount of money. I stayed here 5-6 years ago for a funeral, and it was a very nice hotel, I guess standards haven’t been held.

The staff was very helpful. It would be nice to get the breakfast back as the over the counter stuff doesn't cut it.They should add a 2nd set of curtains to windows as the ones that close don't close all the way and allow for someone from the outside to peak in. very unnerving to say the least.

Only thing I did not like was it did not have a hot tub.

The room was great as was the rest of the hotel. I'm glad they served a hot breakfast. The other AmericInn we stayed at in Cloquet was not nearly as nice as this one. The room was big, clean, updated, and the bedding was a lot more comfortable.

Check-in was great, very nice older lady who gave restaurant recommendations, etc. From there, it was downhill. Room smelled musty and old, bathroom is tiny. Tried to swim at 8am Thursday morning when pool opened, only to be told it was closed for weekly cleaning and would be done about 9am. Came back down at 9am, and cleaning hadn't even started yet. With check-out at 11am, that meant no swimming, which is one of the only reasons I booked this place. Hello...I have a 4-year old! The lady argued with me that there is other times to swim, even though we were only there the one night. Breakfast = almost non-existent. You can ask for a muffin and fruit at the front desk. We walked next door and had a wonderful experience at Perkins! Would not stay at this outdated and overpriced hotel again.
