From start to finish, excellent customer service. Checked in at sunset, incredible sunset view from our room overlooking Lake Suwa.
The check in process was thorough and explained to great detail.
The food was regional, healthy and tasty.

Fantastic stay. Room overlooking the lake was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and always happy to help. The included bus tour of the shrines was a lovely bonus. The option of the included meals was fantastic and the meals we had over our stay were outstanding. Would recommend.

The hotel is well located at lake front, although our room was on the lower floor and the view was a bit blocked by the fence outside the windows. The staff were extremely helpful and the one served us could speak English. The food was good.The private bath (fee required) inside the public bath has half glass walls so not so private except exclusive use of the facility .Given the price we paid included a free tour of the shrines, we considered it's value for money.

Only this hotel offer free coach tour for visiting all 4 Suwa Taisha shrines. very blessed.
We enjoyed welcome drink before dinner.
Hotspring bath with sauna room, very relaxing.
they provid not only japanese yukata roves but also pajamas.
Dinner and breakfast were so beautiful and delicious, and they served me a special vegetarian meal. many thanks to the kitchen staff.
I strongly recommend to stay lake view room.

Visited for a trip around Lake Suwa and oh boy, this hotel is something special, I had the private onsen in the room and it was one of the most relaxing part of my trip in Japan. They also offered public a onsen for hotel guests and you can also book that to have that one private. Over all can't recommend this hotel enough, staff was friendly and breakfast was excellent if you want a taste of a traditional Japanese meal. There is also a bike rental right across the street next to Lake Suwa. Bike trip all around the lake is maybe around 4 hours or less.

10/10 Swore I saw a Shrine Maiden with green hair walking around.

I recommend to reserve the private onsen and the shuttle around thr city with at least a month of anticipation. We got to use the onsen just once and there wasn't any place for the shuttle.

Amazingly beautiful, high-end onsen hotel. Staff are politely formal and provide excellent service in all aspects. My room had a wonderful view of Lake Suwa & all possible amenities. Breakfast was delicious & serves with elegance.

The staff treated us like royalty. They anticipated our needs and satisfied all of our demands. The hot spring rice, hot, hot hot, and the Japanese breakfast was magnificent. They offered a tour of the four grand shrines,and did an amazing job of explaining everything to us. There was not a vacancy for days on end, and now we can understand why thank you.

Retreat to calm you down

The accommodation was better than expected. The internal balcony made the room more usable and it felt larger than we expected. It was lovely to sit on the balcony to unwind and look at the view.
The private dining experience (i think this is standard for those choosing the 1/2 board option) was a highlight. Course after course delughted us. The wait staff were excellent, very attentive and explained things well to us. Their patience was amazing, given our poor to non existent Japanese.
It is styled as a health retreat with menus chosen to be healthy and it has facilities such as the very pleasant onsen.
highly recommend a stay here.

Magical place for Your Name fans

This was my first Ryokan experience, and it was incredible.

Shinkai used Lake Suwa as the inspiration for Tomorrow in Your Name. As a huge fan of the film, I wanted to visit Suwa to see the place for myself, and wanted to do it while staying at a Ryokan. Shinyu offered a room with a lake view, so it sounded perfect.

Every staff member was incredibly friendly. For English speakers, they have all the important information in English and most of the staff spoke English well enough to be able to help you out. Don't worry if you don't speak Japanese!

Top tip: if you speak \"tourist level\" Japanese like me, at dinner, just use English. They have English menus with descriptions of the food and an English speaking staff member will attend to you. I didn't do this, and the staff member passionately explained the origins of the appetisers. I understood almost none of it, and felt very guilty afterwards for letting him speak!

After a lovely dinner and relaxing soak in the Onsen, I watched Your Name in front of the lake view. If that sounds perfect to you, do yourself a favour and go!

On the way out, I mentioned to a lovely staff member that I came because of Your Name, and she recommended visiting Tateishi Koen before I left. If you're reading this: thank you so much for being thoughtful and recommending that. It was nothing more or less, than a breathtaking view.

Lovely locations as it’s right where the lake Suwa is, just walk across the road and it’s the lane. And there is a bicycle rental at the lake so it’s perfect place to stay and rent a bicycle for the day to cycle around the lake. 16km to complete a full perimeter of the late. It’s a MUST do, lovely.

Like - Professional and courteous and attentive staff. Great Food. Good Onsen. The nearby Clasuwa restaurant was fabulously good. Numerous things to do and see around the lake, and there were thousands of migrating ducks and other birds on the lake.
Didn't like - No Lake view as advertised, room otherwise fine, but was in the center of the building. View was 2/3 adjoining wing wall and 1/3 parking lot

Very friendly and accommodating staff, cozy establishment with great food. Private reservation onsen is available albeit the price being slightly on the higher side. Has free shuttles to the station making it very accessible.

Opposite the hotel is the kamisuwa lake side park with free foot baths. Number of close by restaurants which are of very good quality as well for lunch.

Very good hotel and amazing service

Great stay overall, staff were absolutely amazing and so was the food and private onsen.
The only minus is that our room did not have a shower which was very inconvenient if you don’t fancy to have a shower in the public bathroom on the different floor.

The trip felt very exlcusive and private throughout. We were able to get a booking for a private onsen as I have tattoos. The dinner hall is a setting where guests are in their individual rooms. The bathroom and toilet were a little outdated but overall it was an enjoyable experience.

Not sure if there is any shuttle bus can be arranged from the train station to the hotel, we have chosen to walk to the hotel from Kami-Suwa station and it took us 15-20mins. We need to pass through a flyover and walk along narrow pedestrian paths which is not easy when you carry bulky luggages. We have stayed in the President suite in the hotel with private onsen, the room is very big, neat and tidy. As we checked in late, we have enjoyed a wonderful dinner in our suite and the private onsen. The breakfast was also excellent. The hotel staff are helpful with smile always, and they arranged us a free shuttle bus to the train station when we left to the train station. Overall it was excellent, however, the check out time is too early at 10a.m and costs applied for later check out.

家族6人で二つ部屋を取りました。

スタッフはかなり丁寧に食事や貸切風呂の使い方など、説明してくれました。
食事も美味しかったです、朝食の生卵のお代わりがあると最高です。
客室はヘアアイロンがあって、髪の毛はいつもパサつきの私にとってはとても良かったです。
諏訪湖の景色も観れて満足でした。

ただし、大浴場に二人くらいしか入れない浴槽があって、50代位の女性二人は1時間以上ほど、占領してました。
どういうお風呂が気になって、やっと翌日の朝に体験できました。
長時間のご利用をご遠慮などのお知らせがあると、多くの方にも体験できると感じました。

一泊で利用させて頂きました。チェックインとチェックアウト時は終始丁寧な対応でホッとしました。チェックアウト時に荷物を郵送しようとしたら、すぐに段ボールとガムテープを準備頂き大変助かりました。その際に対応頂いた若い女性はとても丁寧な対応で、最高の休暇になりました。フロントが混んでいたところ、サッと飛んできた姿が印象的でした。教育されていてできるものなのか、その方の持って生まれた思考や性格なのかもしれませんが、とにかく私は感謝しています。
客室の露天風呂は綺麗に管理しており、何度も入ってしまいました。湖も綺麗でした。
料理は夜朝共に絶品です。日本酒を飲みすぎてしまいました。また利用させて頂きます。

館内に入った瞬間、スタッフさん笑顔と落着きのあるロビーでまず癒されました。
5階の洋室の部屋に泊まったのですが、水墨画の様にプリントされたカーテンから諏訪湖が一望出来、風流でした。
お食事も個室になっており、おしゃれな空間で、食事もとても美味しく、お漬物ビッフェも綺麗に配置されとても素敵でした。
諏訪大社の拝観バスは、説明も楽しく、無料なのにクオリティが高かったです。バスが、しんゆさんを通過する際、スタッフの方が外で手を振ってくださり、気持ちがほっこりしました。ただ、同じスタッフさん達がニコニコと早朝から夜遅くまで働いていたのが、働き過ぎでは？と心配になりました。
また、是非利用したいと思います。

予約するのが遅く値段も高くなってしまって仕方がなかったのですが、部屋も広く快適に泊まれスタッフの皆さんのご対応も丁寧でいい滞在となりました。
冷蔵庫には水のみでビールや軽食は2階の自販機購入となり少し手間でした。
大浴場は広くタイルが綺麗で気持ち良いお風呂でした。

Vi boede på 3. sal, lige ved siden af staff-room/cleaningroom og der var så meget larm fra kl 6 om morgenen, at vi ikke kunne sove.
Værelset lugtede massivt af fisk, tror det er pga sivtæpper på gulvet, aå vi måtte have aircon kørende 24/7 på maks 20 gr.
Der blev ikke fjernet brugte håndklæder og ekstra skrald, som stod pænt i en pose ved siden af meget lille - og hver fag overfyldt skraldespand.
Man kan ikke spise aftensmad på deres restaurant, medmindre man har forudbestilt.
Tilgængelig var personale utroligt søde og hjælpsomme

L'hotel è stupendo, curato in ogni dettaglio. La colazione è un esperienza, la consiglio se vi piace il salato al risveglio. Unica pecca il bagno era veramente piccolo e non c'era la doccia (stanza stanza standard), ma credo sia caratteristica di alcuni hotel in Giappone, gli Onsen compensano questa mancanza. Per quanto abbiamo avuto modo di vedere è un hotel di classe alta scelto per lo più dai locali, quindi rispetta le usanze.

お部屋も食事も、スタッフの皆さんの心遣いにも大満足です。ただひとつ感じたのは、お風呂の浴槽に入る段差が高めなので、もう一段増やしていただけると脚に難のある者にはありがたい、ということです。

諏訪大社の4社を3時間で回る無料バスがあるので選びました。運転手兼ガイドの方の説明がわかりやすく、レンタカーでは丸1日、バスと電車では2日かかる観光を楽しめました。
部屋とお風呂は普通でしたが、朝食も素晴らしかったです。

Great location that just next to the lake Suwa. Luckily we can enjoy the Sakura on the riverside through the window of our room.
The service for breakfast and dinner is good and thanks for the recommendation of the staff, Yu, for going to see the Sakura in a castle park nearby. That’s amazing.

Traditionelles Zimmer hat keine Dusche im Zimmer. Nur Waschbecken und Toilette. Geht so nicht ganz klar aus der Beschreibung hervor.
Hier sollte man dann zB für dzt. 2.000 Yen 40min einen privaten Onsen buchen.

Excellent stay at Lake Suwa

The location of hotel is right in front of Lake Suwa Park, the like shore is just across the road. A very relaxing vibe in this area.
Staffs at carpark and concierge are very friendly and helpful.
The interior environment of common area and room is stylish, new and clean. I stayed in lake view room with excellent view of Lake Suwa.
Onsen is relatively basic and simple.
Dinner and breakfast are good but not very outstanding. Selection of sake is disappointing for an onsen hotel in the city of Suwa, I did expect much bigger range of sake selection with so many famous sake kura in Suwa and Nagano.

駐車場の方もフロントの方も常に笑顔で丁寧に対応していただき、大変快適に過ごすことが出来た。部屋から花火を楽しめたのも良かった。
食事の際、案内やお料理の説明は丁寧になさるお若い女性スタッフが、音が出る程勢いよく配膳するので驚いた。また、全品食べ終わらないうちに空いている食器を次々と下げていき、次のお料理をどんどん運んで来られる。急き立てられている様でゆっくり食事を楽しむ事が出来なかった。お料理の味も見た目も良いのに残念だった。
