It's comfortable and the design is amazing. It feels really welcoming. We got an upgraded room with a big window. The staff is very nice and helpful. They really did the best to make our stay great. Really appreciated that the wifi was good since I had to work during my stay! Very nice staff! This hotel offered excellent value for money. The room was spacious, tidy, and very comfortable. Strange hotel! The bathroom door was completely see through with a weird window blind to put over it if you wanted privacy. The beds were hard and the stairs/lift system was weird. Only saving grace was the breakfast! Also wasn’t particularly quiet at night. Wouldnt recommend.

Room was clean and comfortable. Service. It's a busy street, and I had a room with balcony overlooking it, but with the doors closed I wasn't disturbed by the traffic miss at all. Only one complaint, and it's a small one: the lighting seemed a bit harsh. The street itself is lovely, with lots of coffee shops around, frequented mostly by Vietnamese people rather than tourists. 5-6 minutes walk to the nearest convenience store. Same with the nearest functioning ATM. Staff were very nice and helpful.

The Royal Palace Hotel is a very charming place to stay, located in the perfect place for tourist, lots of restaurants and shopping. The staff are always smiling and willing to help no matter what you want or need. The rooms are very clean with comfortable beds. The buffet breakfast is very good. There are stairs to climb to get to the floor where the elevator is but there is always a bell person to help. We have stayed there twice now and I would definitely stay again.

These hotel is in a great location ! Easy walk to lake and great shops , restaurants and train street .
Air conditioning was good , breakfast area was small but nice food and omelettes etc made to order .
Room decor was a bit tired but not a problem as you are only crashing out for the night . Ordered a private driver to an from the airport (which is a 45min drive) for $18 US, well worth it !

We stayed in the room with a balcony which was lovely as we could sit out and see Hanoi. Staff at reception were very helpful and friendly. Good location just next to the lake for the night markets and lots of coffee shops/restaurants nearby. The breakfast had vegan Pho which was GREAT and I think the restaurant also had loads of great vegetarian/vegan options, we would definitely have eaten lunch there if we’d stayed another night.

This summer, I spent a wonderful break in Hanoi. Then I located this hotel, and I noticed that the general environment of the hotel on this street is excellent, as is the service. We reserved a balcony room with a nice view, and the decorating is Royal-style, so our initial impression was really positive. And the most notable aspect of this restaurant is its service. We were here for the first time, so the staff –Mimi and Jim gently introduced us to some of the greatest buys and recommendations in Hanoi, including where to eat and where to go.

I recently stayed at this hotel after booking through Hotels.com, and I feel compelled to warn others that the listing is completely misleading.

The photographs and descriptions presented online bear little resemblance to the actual condition of the hotel. The images appear heavily edited, giving the impression of a modern, well-maintained four-star property. In reality, the hotel is in a poor and neglected state.

The room I was given was entirely substandard. It was not properly cleaned, with visible signs of dirt and general lack of upkeep. The furnishings were old and worn, and the windows were rusted and even broken in places. The bathroom was particularly disappointing — the toilet flush did not work properly, the rain shower was non-functional, and the handheld shower had extremely low water pressure, making it barely usable.

Breakfast was equally unacceptable. There was a very limited selection, with basic items missing — no butter was available, and the jam provided appeared old and of very poor quality, resembling little more than sugar. This falls far below even basic expectations, let alone those of a hotel claiming a four-star luxury rating.

Another major issue is accessibility: the lift is only available from the second floor, which is highly inconvenient and completely inappropriate for a hotel advertised at this level.

Most comfortable mattress we've had in over 2 months of travel in SE Asia! Slept well. 10-15 minute walk to many attractions, shopping, restaurants, etc. Staff is superior with good English skills. Also have travel consultants that arranged tour to Halong Bay for us while the hotel changed our reservation without penalty to accommodate dates. Also secured train tickets for our next stop so we didn't have to find others or arrange everything ourselves. We recommend this place and would stay again.

Pros: The hotel was clean and the staff were super friendly and willing to accommodate your needs. The hotel is also in a prime location with easy walks to multiple locations, restaurants, parks, and activities.

Cons: The bed was rock hard, and felt like it had springs trying to poke out of it. It was comparable to sleeping on a carpeted floor. Breakfast was also very small and didn't have very many options.

Overall: I think this is a great place to stay, because if you traveled a long distance (USA) like we did, you won't be spending a ton of time in your room or eating at the hotel anyway. You will be out seeing the sites and eating the food and nearby restaurants, cafes, and food stalls. The staff were some of the friendliest people we met in Vietnam. Every time we walked in the door they greeted us with a smile and helped us with anything we needed. The rooms were clean and were always made up when we came back from our adventures.

A great hotel with a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. My room was spotless and nicely arranged, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were polite and attentive throughout my stay. I appreciated how smooth everything was from check-in to check-out. The location also made it easy to explore the surrounding neighborhood. Overall I had a wonderful stay and would recommend this hotel.

Would never book this hotel again. Those with mobility issues would have problems, even with the elevator. It doesn’t stop at floor level. You always have to go up a flight or down a flight of stairs to get to your room. Very noisy - street noise and within the building. Our room did not even face the street and that night’s sleep was the worst of our two week trip.
