Everything about the hotel was quite good except that my room was extremely small and opened upon an inner air shaft, whereas other single rooms had exterior views. There was no natural light at all. I think the hotel should make this more clear during the booking process.

First off, if you don't get the breakfast option. You should know there is no coffee in the room. Secondly, there was no hot water for me to take a shower on my first morning. Thirdly, there was renovations, and wood being sawed in half for hours during the day in the room. 4thly, the best was soft and not firm. 5th. the room was located #423 right by the service maintenance room... always slamming door and making noise.. When I brough up to the staff that there was no coffee or no hot water to take a shower. They did not even offer complimentary night or coffee or breakfast or anything... The hotel is well located. The lobby feels nice and \"french\" but don't fooled. This is terrible.

The hotel is beautiful and in a very nice neighborhood. The only parking is at public lots but there are 4 lots within a block of the hotel. The hotel is within walking distance to Casa Batlló but a taxi is recommended for La Sagrada Familia.

We had a very comfortable room - the bed and pillows were amazing and we slept so well. Lovely staff and all very clean. The breakfast was excellent. We loved all the art around the hotel and it was great to have a small swimming pool on the roof top to dip in to. Only thing missing for me was tea or coffee making facilities in the bedroom. Great location in a safe neighbourhood. The metro is an 8 minute walk and there was a bus stop right outside too so good for public transport.

We had a nice large attached balcony to our room which was really nice. The hotel has a lot of restaurants and bakeries walking distance. We loved Mama Babka around the corner. It has amazing pastries and excellent lattes. One small negative - our room faces the street. We could hear people walking home in the middle of the night from their festivities. The next night, I used my travel noise machine and heard nothing.

The staff were super nice & very accommodating. We were greeted with smiles & all of our questions were taken care of even though we did not speak the language. The girls at reception printed off maps for us & showed us how to get to where we wanted to go to meet up with our friends. Our luggage was stored safely until we were ready to leave for the airport which was such a great help to us given we were not flying home till very late this evening. Thank you to Dominico & all the desk staff for looking after us so well. We will definitely be recommending the Hotel Astoria to any friends who decide to visit Barcelona...

Overall good. Good location if you want to walk and explore the city. Also close to a metro stop, which I did not use. Staff is a bit cold and unfriendly. I asked the to call a taxi for me so i can attend a scheduled tour. After 20 minutes of waiting and two times asking if it would be faster to just walk to a taxi stand, I walked to a taxi stand and was immediately on my way. They were more concerned that they would be charged a cancelation fee than helping me. In the end, the taxi stand is only a block away and it all worked out...although I was 30 minutes late for my tour. The breakfast staff was very friendly.

Concierge staff weren’t particularly friendly. The room had cobwebs on the ceiling and there was still someone else’s shaved hair in the sink. The doors have warped so you have to slam them shut. Strange smell in the bathroom. Environmentally the toilet doesn’t appear to have a half flush and the bath tap would run while the shower head was running.

Our family room at Hotel Astoria was the best we've ever stayed in. Great layout - 2 single beds in one part (why don't more hotels offer single beds in family rooms?), a queen (or maybe king) size bed in another room, loads of storage, a beautiful bathroom with 2 sinks (such a good idea) and White Company toiletries, a mini-fridge and a safe, and a terrace with table and chairs.The beds were so comfy it was a struggle to wake up! WiFi good enough to keep the teen happy. The one downside about the room was the soundproofing from outside in the main bedroom - the street noise was quite loud even on the 7th floor. Didn't stop us sleeping though (those lovely beds). The housekeeping staff were very friendly, the staff on reception were a little more reserved (friendly enough, but less forthcoming). The hotel is very beautiful and smells amazing - very refreshing to come back to after a long day. The pool on the roof is more of a plunge pool than a kid's area, great for couples or teens though. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, there's lots of food and drink places nearby. Close to Diagonal metro stop and loads of buses. We really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is located in a lovely part of the city that is a bit away from busy touristy areas. It is located very close to a subway, which makes visiting various city sites very easy. It is a walkable distance to several Michelin star rated restaurants. The hotel impeccably clean, and quiet, and the front desk staff is polite and helpful. The building is historic, and houses a small gallery of cartoonist Ricard Opisso, which adds to its charm.
The only drawback was the \"pool,\" which was the size of a large hot tub. It is located on the hotel roof, which is a cute spot for gathering but crowded. The \"gym\" was also very bare bones - essentially a small bike and treadmill in a tiny glass enclosed room.
Overall, I would highly recommend it!
