The staff is very friendly, the location is great and within 17 mins of walking from Kyoto Station. The restaurant for breakfast is 1 min away from the entrance of the hotel. They provide you with great amenities as well.

Room: small and bed so uncomfortable… I saw how they clean the room between guests and tbh I felt it was not that hygienic.
Location: Great!
Staff: It was OK. The girl who welcomed us at the reception we felt like we were bothering her. She did not explain a lot.
Amenities: showers are clean and bathroom as well
We did laundry and set a timer to come back get our laundry. We were 4-5 minutes late and the staff removed our stuff from
the machine. We were a little bit shocked. I would understand a 30 min to 1h late but for such a short period of time we really didn’t appreciate it. The clothes were not even completely dry and we would have added time but couldn’t since they removed everything.
In general: It’s like a hostel.

Stayed here for 3 nights and it was great! Location was perfect, just 2 mins walk from the metro and quiet yet close to the city centre. Room was great, yes it was small but thoughtfully designed (I love the nightlight feature!) and the futon was extremely comfortable. Breakfast not bad and great value. Bathrooms were OK, showers were perfecty fine and well-maintained but I do wish the toilets came with a seat cleaning spray for hygiene (especially as they're shared). Would stay again!

If you’re going to stay in Kyoto this is a good choice. Good location & accommodating staff. Close enough to Kyoto station to walk and directly next to subway line and bus. Elevator if you have heavy luggage. Easy check in with machine. Nice lobby and shower rooms. The rooms are smaller but very cute.

I made a mistake when I booked in overlooking the fact that this hotel has the shared bathrooms. However, after check-in, I’ve also found other things not in the room. Such as no sink/toilet, no mini fridge, not even a garbage can. The only thing in the room is a bed. Thank God it has an electrical/USB socket in the room so at least I can charge my phone. My wife was dissappointed, to say the least, compared to other hotels we stayed in Tokyo and Osaka.

A bunk room was perfect for our family of four. The whole hotel was kept spotless during our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, and a late check-in (11pm) caused no problems. Our rate included a decent breakfast (western or Japanese style) at the friendly restaurant a few seconds from the hotel. Great location right next to Gojo subway station, and easily walkable from Kyoto station too.

Wow, I did not expect that a pocket hotel is better than other regular hotels. We got the room with 2 mattresses. I like how the washroom is being cleaned often and there r clean& comfortable pyjamas, disposable slippers and toothbrushes. I also like how the laundry is in the hotel and there are lots of tables and chairs in the lounge area. It is also close to the train station.

This is my second time at this hotel, and all I can say is how wonderful it is! Very convenient and affordable. I don’t like the small rooms, but that’s what a hostel hotel it’s all about. I recommend a lot if your just saying for a few days and don’t have many bags. Maybe as a start up hotel!

The room with twin beds does not have a lot of space to move around though two big luggages can be put under the beds. I think guests should have the option to request the round table to be removed from their room for a bit more space. Washrooms are on the same floor but showers are on a different floor. It feels more like a hostel.

For the price this was an amazing place to stay. I slept very well, the washroom and showers were clean. They clean the showers twice a day. Very good water pressure. Check in and check out was easy! Very close to the subway exit! A lot of amenities - towels, tooth brushes, shampoo, conditioner, slippers, pjs. There are also washer and dryers vending machines on the first floor.

It was very convient for transportation and walking and a stop away from main train station. It was quiet for the most part. Some of the tourists from abroad were rude, noisey and messy, yet the local people and staff were very kind and helpful. I got 2 extra nights as I was quite happy there. It’s also worth purchasing a breakfast ticket. Good location. Thank You for a nice stay.

Overall - good hotel for the price. The laundry room only had four machines and none of them did a sufficient job of drying the clothes, even after an extra 30 minutes of drying. We ended up hanging/draping our clean laundry around the room for a day to get them sufficiently dry.

Amazing stay, and with the price, nothing more could be left desired. The location is wonderful, there's a 7-Eleven right across the street for food if needed and its literally right next to Gojo Station which makes using the metro soo easy. The accommodations were perfectly adequate for what they were needed: resting and sleeping as we explored Kyoto. Will be back!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Pocket for several days while visiting Kyoto. It is located in such a convenient area (walkable distance to Nishiki and transit). The property itself is clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful! It is definitely worth staying here for the price! The only complaint I have come from the other foreigners/tourists. Please be respectful of the space especially when maintaining cleanliness as this is a shared space. Otherwise, I’d definitely recommend Pocket hotel!

This is an excellent place to stay when on a budget. Central location made it easy to get to many tourist spots. The Breakfast which was included was at a restaurant next door which gave 3 breakfast platter options (with no substitutions). We stayed in a “family” room for 4 people with bunk beds and futon beds which were quite comfortable.

Budget accommodation option - toilets and shower rooms are communal, however the whole property is spotlessly clean so no problem. Breakfast vouchers are provided for Yayoiken restaurant, a few steps away - 3 delicious breakfast options. Location is very convenient, right next to subway entrance and one stop from Kyoto station. Overall our stay was very comfortable, this hotel offers incredible value for money!

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the room and bathroom was. I didn't think that I would enjoy sharing a bathroom but they were constantly cleaning the bathrooms and it felt like I had a freshly cleaned bathroom to myself every time. The space is small but sufficient to store everything and just sleep for the night. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Coming in from Osaka, I *loved* that the train stop (Gojo) is literally just a couple meters away from the hotel. AND that there was Yoshinoya close by! And a few others like CocoIchi and a couple others that I forgot the name of, but they were delish options too.

Other than a long wait before checking (came too early), it was a easy process of checking in and then settling into the room. Being 165cm, it was quite spacious and comfy enough.

It was very nice that they offered in-house usage of clothing (one-size for all) which can be swapped out daily for a fresh set. And slippers! The orange oil/botanical extract shampoo/body soap was awesome to say the least. Great way to wake up to the scent. They did offer toothbrushes/q-tips in the restroom.

I will definitely want to stay there again, if/when I drop into Kyoto again.

The room/service was great. The room itself was very small and basic, with bathooms in the hallway outside and gendered shower rooms on other floors. We were mainly in our room at the end of the day/taking a break early afternoon, so this want much of an issue. Is right next to a subway entry, which is very convenient.
Would recommend for traveling on a budget.

The cabins are really small, but it is the way it is.
