Wave Resort is a vibrant family beach destination offering enchanting all-inclusive facilities on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. Stretching across nearly 44, 000 sq m, the resort is located 5.
5 km north of Pomorie and a 15-minute drive from Bourgas Airport. Nearby, Lake Pomorie, a preserved natural habitat for rare birds and species, is a coastal lagoon famous for its healing mud.
Via Pontica, Europe's second-largest avian migratory route, passes over the lake. The resort offers 24-hour all-inclusive services.
The main buffet restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Three à la carte restaurants serve traditional Bulgarian, Mediterranean, and Far Asian cuisines four times a week during dinner.

We had to wait about 5 minutes to find someone on staff to ask them to find the front desk person. The room was a little quirky due to the design of the hotel looking like a wave making the room shape oddly laid out. Our coffee maker did not work and the room as well.

The resort was super nice. I proposed to my fiancé there. Only thing I wasn’t a fan of was I was told they would switch my room to a better room with a view when we got to this room it was smaller and the view was okay. They did resolve the issue though when I called letting them know I wasn’t comfortable in the room once they switch the room I actually paid for was perfect and way better view even though it was on a lower floor. Still would recommend other then that just learn from me and don’t listen to them when they say we have a better room.

That said, I did notice that the rates are a bit higher compared to similar hotels in the area. While the experience was excellent, the pricing might make it less accessible for frequent stays.

I had looked forward to staying at The Wave since it opened a few years back. I often come to this area and usually stay at a nearby hotel. I chose The Wave for my anniversary stay to see what it was like. The hotel is beautiful. The staff was lovely and the room was very comfortable. Upon checkin when I mentioned my anniversary we were immediately upgraded. This hotel is the most expensive in the area with the most expensive resort fee. In October, there is not much to offer that this fee covers. We were told that the outdoor pool was open but when we went there the chairs were not set up, cushions were not on furniture snd the umbrellas were scattered. Parking is valet only for an additional $55. The parking area is a dirt and gravel lot next to the hotel. At this price point you must do better. This hotel has been there long enough for it to be paved. Overall I was happy that I went but in the future I will stay at the 2 neighboring hotels which are also beautiful, are less expensive and have a lower resort fee.

We had a very nice, mid-September post-season stay. The hotel and the local area were fairly quiet, even on Saturday morning. Room was nice, however I will say the property is quite expensive. It was not near capacity so the rate felt excessive. For the price, everything should be working and maintained just a little better - only 1 of 2 TVs turned on, the Chromecast would not work/spotty wifi, and the balcony door was very difficult to lock, clearly needing to be repaired. We called about the door, but it wasn't repaired, we just learned how to jiggle the handle to eventually get it into a locking position. You are paying for a beautiful view and convenience, but I have stayed at high-end luxury resorts in the Carribbean for less. It is the Jersey shore after all, even if it is a little elevated for the area. But if you go, you will likely have a great time.

We loved the Wave, we wished it had a kids play area. We were told it was no longer available although it shows it’s available online. Everything else was great, staff, food, drinks at the Bar. Super accessible to the beach, no issues getting in and out; staff had beach chairs and umbrellas ready at 8:45am! Overall we recommend it 100%!

The shower that turns into a tub
We stayed in room 413 which they knew was a problem with the bathroom. If you take a shower, it doesn’t go down the drain it floods the entire bathroom. I was standing in ankle deep water when I came out. I complained to the desk they already knew this was a problem room and still gave it to me. I stayed there for two days. I was very unhappy that I had to get out mop up the bathroom floor so I could get to the hairdryer leave the bathroom to dry my hair outside. I had to use every towel in the place to mop the floor up. I saw the general manager the next day. She told me they were gonna call an engineer to see what could be done and she’s lying because that hotel was built in 2019 and they know that room is a problem and still have not taken care of it. I came down there because I am under cancer treatments and didn’t need any stress in my life and I had it every time I took a shower. I did see the manager before I left. She gave me compensation on my resort fee, but I can guarantee you the room is not fixed since they haven’t fixed it since 2019 and will not fix it and anytime soon. Be prepared to have a flood in your bathroom every time you take a shower. Also had trouble getting into the room. The door would not open. Unfortunately, my stay coincided with a storm so we didn’t get to enjoy the beach. However, for a luxury hotel, it did not feel very luxurious. There were cracked tiles in the lobby, parking was $55 and there was even tax on top of that - that was a ridiculous fee on top of an already expensive stay. The website implies a large gym but it was a very small gym with a very limited number of machines. The staff was courteous but I didn’t feel like anyone went out of their way. I asked for water and was told it would be brought to my room and it never came. Overall, the experience was fine but for the price of this hotel, I expected much more than ‘fine’.

The hotel is a great location and the rooms are excellent and clean. We had a balcony overlooking the ocean, stunning. The service was mediocre and we had to take the luggage to our rooms ourselves. They didn’t have a breakfast on premises other than bagels, which seems silly to me. They recommend a breakfast place that took over and hour wait. Sometimes there was no one at the front desk.
Housekeeping was nice but unprofessional. There was no do not disturb signs in the room and housekeeping knocked loudly at 9am. We asked them to come later. After 2 reminders directly with the staff, someone came at 4:15. Small things overall but I expected better. I’d probably stay at a more full service hotel next time.
