This is a beautiful property but aimed more at business travelers there for a conference than for individuals. The restaurants are pricey and there are no microwave ovens in the rooms or anywhere that I could find.

A beautiful lodge and nature experience. Food was excellent- great smashburgers and BLT. There is so much to do! Zip lining, sightseeing, nature walks, family fun or a romantic getaway. I went solo and felt truly cared for!

Skamania Lodge is a wonderful, family-friendly resort with plenty of activities for both kids and adults. The property is clean, well-maintained, and offers a relaxing environment surrounded by beautiful scenery. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, whether you’re looking for adventure or just a peaceful getaway. The food is also very good, which makes the overall experience even better. Highly recommend for a fun and comfortable stay!

We had a great experience. The lodge was clean, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the amenities were great. The spa was wonderful and the zip lining and sky bridge were fun experiences that we would recommend. The only negative I could say was that we could hear our neighbors which woke us up very early one morning but that could be because we had a connecting door in our room. Without the door, it would most likely have not been so loud.

We will definitely visit again!

The treehouse was very dusty, I found a dead bug in the window by the \"tent-bed\". Because the treehouse has a microwave, it seems important that the room is equipped with small plates and silverware, which was not the case.

Amamos pasar nuestras vacaciones de primavera en Skamania Lodge. Las instalaciones estan muy bien mantenidas, el lobby precioso con una vista increíble,la habitación estuvo muy bien, tal vez un poco pequeña pero limpia, con buenas camas y todo lo necesario para sentirse como en casa. El spa estuvo maravilloso, en especial el hot tub exterior, realmente relajante y hermoso. Disfrutamos del restaurant, la comida y la atencion estuvieron muy bien. El staff del hotel siempre muy amable y preocupados de los huéspedes. Viajamos con nuestro perrito y el lugar es muy pet friendly. Un lugar perfecto para una escapada relajante y todo lo que necesitas para desconectarte a solo 30 min de la ciudad. Repetiría sin duda!

For some reason somebody decided to keep dirty pillows by our door, room 130.
The check in person was not nice either.
Highly disappointed that Sue from restaurant was harassed out of Scamania hotel by not given her enough hours. She is VETERAN and was a very good employee. Shame on the management!

Everything was just about perfect. The views were breathtaking. Waking up to the sunrise through my eyelids was magical. The overall vibe of the architecture promotes relaxation and blending with the natural surroundings. The staff were great. The cocktails were incredible. The dinner was good, with very fresh vegetables. The hot tub was beautiful and nice to have one that is adults only. My only complaints would be there is no vegan hot breakfast option, not even hashbrowns. Not having that in an upscale stay is ridiculous. They can certainly afford to offer Just Egg, Violife, and Beyond/Impossible products for the prices they charge. With these replacements, there's no need for hiring special talent as they cook and taste exactly the same. The other complaint would be the jets are broken in the hot tub. They are loose and whirl around in circles hosing you in the face if you get within a few feet of them. Luckily, there were some spots to sit that were far enough away from them and we got up early enough in the morning that we were able to soak before anyone made the mistake of turning them on.

Beautiful hotel, very clean, kind staff members, and lots of amenities to enjoy with the family. I absolutely loved the location overlooking at the Columbia River.

I was granted early check in, which made a difference for me in wanting to come back in the future. My kids loved the big pool and green yard with plenty of space to play soccer or simply run around.

The views are fantastic. However, the staff left something to be desired. It took an hour and 20 minutes to check in, I got sent to multiple rooms and none of the keys worked and finally had to wait for a maintenance guy with a master key to let me in and then wait in my room for another hour for a maintenance guy to come and finally get me a working key and my fireplace wasn’t working having paid extra for a room with a fireplace. So that required a different maintenance engineer visit to get that going. You’ve gotta walk a long way with your luggage from the parking area up and down a hill with minimal lighting in the middle of the night to get to the lodge with no signs. Even during the daytime, nobody offers to help help you with your bags or provide any help or service without you seeking it out. The spa was great though, clean, good massage, great hot tub and sauna.

My husband and I love Skamania Lodge! We got married here, so it's a very special place for us and we enjoy visiting from time to time. This was our first time going to the Waterleaf Spa for massages and it was one of the best massages of my life! The outdoor hot tub is glorious, too. The lobby and grounds are beautiful, the pool, spa, and fitness center amenities are very nice, and it's a peaceful environment with excellent staff. We always enjoy our stays here.

Pros: All around really nice staff , the indoor pool was really a hit with my kids! The food was good and had reasonable pricing considering there isn’t much else nearby to eat. The gym was also really nice! And they allow dogs! The building and location is beautiful and very kid friendly. I love the toy box outside in the grass area and the scavenger hunt that is offered near the coffee bar.

Cons: I thought it was weird that they regularly don’t put out enough coffee at the coffee bar. The $15 per night parking fee was also unexpected and seems like a business tactic to keep their room prices artificially lower. And the double beds are really tight for families with small children that are sharing.

Overall though i think the pros outweighed the cons, so we would definitely consider coming back.

We liked the comfortable room and the plushy Sasquatch in it. The view was not good though.
The food in the restaurant was actually really amazing, but the service was terrible. One of the servers composed we ordered lattes with our food that she would have to walk down the hall to get them, and she was really busy. We said no problem; we can go without. Then she came back and said she would go ahead and do it to make us happy and get a good tip, so we thanked her.
But then she never brought them…. Weird!
Our other server was sort of rude too, which is surprising and unusual for a high-end resort.
We enjoyed the guy singing by the big windows in the evening, and we liked the outdoor fireplace.
We were annoyed that they charged us $25 to park there. It is a huge lot, and we paid over $400 for 2 rooms, so forcing us to pay for parking was a blatant money grab because the lodge is in the middle of nowhere, so you have to drive there, and there is nowhere else to park. I’ve never had a remote lodge charge me to park, anywhere in the world, and I stay in lodges everywhere all the time. Pretty lame and just that cost you a star in my rating.

We had a truly wonderful experience at Skamania Lodge. We stayed in the treehouse, and it was absolutely beautiful—very nice, cozy, and such a unique experience. We loved it.

The restaurant service was excellent, and everyone we encountered was friendly and welcoming. The ladies at the gift shop were especially kind and helpful and did a great job.

The spa and swimming pool area were also a highlight. LauraBeth, who works in that area, was incredibly kind, gentle, and helpful. She took the time to help me find directions and made the experience feel very welcoming.

One of the biggest highlights of our stay was the zip line experience. The entire staff—from the front desk to the zip line team—was absolutely amazing. A special thank you to Tucker and Adrianna, who were outstanding. They were professional, kind, and incredibly supportive, guiding us step-by-step and making us feel comfortable throughout all seven zip lines.

The zip line experience itself was truly exceptional and far beyond expectations. It’s nothing like you imagine until you’re there. We highly recommend everyone try it—it was thrilling, well organized, and unforgettable.

Skamania Lodge truly goes above and beyond. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this experience to others.

My husband and I travel to a new place in Washington every year to visit on our birthdays and anniversary, which are all in January. This year was my turn to pick a place. My husband was elated and so surprised. Everyone was friendly, the food was tasty, and the Lodge is squeaky clean! The grounds are beautiful! There was an issue with the Riverview I was looking forward to but the room had a hot water issue, so we were given a forest view with a fireplace. (We had our choice to keep the riverview) It was toasty warm. The only thing I would say is that the bed could have been a little more comfortable, as my husbands back and my hips were achy each morning. We would definitely come back to Skamania Lodge! Thank you!

The property is amazing and the food at both restaurants is excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I had some additional requests and they delivered in record time. I mistakenly ordered something on the menu that ended up having an allergen in it and they replaced the meal with something different and don’t even charge for either. I went on to spend the additional on their great cocktails. The out door hot tub and River views from the hotel are 5 star. This is our new favorite local getaway spot.

The room was clean & the TV and cable were adequate. Overall though the bed was old the mattress springs were poking out of the side of the mattress and the blanket in closet was in tatters. The air conditioning was noisy when it cycled, the water pressure in the shower was dismal you felt like it took several rinses to get soap out of your hair. At the Cascade restaurant there most prestigious of the eateries on premise we stood for over 5 minutes waiting for the hostess took a future reservation and entered it in the computer again we were the only ones in line and it was certainly not busy at the lunch hour. The waiter likewise was not very solicitous and again there was hardly any patrons in the Restaurant at the time. Let me also say we booked through Expedia there was no mention that our booking would not include resort fees and parking fees of $15 per night something that Skamania just added to there charges as of June 2025. Also resort fee was $18.75 per night also extra on top of Expedia charges. We ordered room service something you weren’t allowed to order the night before. Food arrived in all to go utensils such as paper cup for the oatmeal and paper cups for coffee and no salt n pepper or ketchups for eggs. Overall a very average stay and that’s not a very high compliment for such an old established prestigious and pricey property. Personnel were nice but overall very average

Appreciated the setting overlooking the Columbia river. Grounds have some nice features like outdoor gas fireplaces and fire pits. Indoor main lobby with fireplace is surprisingly small for a centerpiece though. Rooms are spacious enough, but come with some quirks. Upstairs rooms are intolerably hot in the winter, apparently only due to heat rising from rooms below. Beware if you use an in-room fireplace since relieving the heat produced can only be done by opening the window to the frigid outdoors. Even with the thermostat off and air handler shut off the blower wouldn’t stop unless the gfci plug was tripped. Shower drain was plugged. Bed wasn’t that comfortable.

Other quirks of the hotel include staff taking away courtesy items like hot chocolate at 2 pm (who does that?) - I mean the whole drink table in the lobby is cleared?! Was also surprised with a $16.20 nightly parking fee not disclosed on reservation (particularly since parking is abundant in the winter) and was charged more than thr $15/nt that was stated to another guest checking in at the same time.

Overall OK for a place to stay a couple of
days while exploring the Columbia Gorge area, but wouldn’t stay here again, and certainly not at the prices I’ve seen for summer stays. Overpriced for what it is. For the same or less I can have a mediocre lodge stay in a National Park with a better setting.

Not as advertised. Rooms are NOT sound proof, coffee was terrible, carpets are thread bare on stairs and landings. Views were incredible, but many windows had failed glass that hampered the view. Reservation system for the restaurants was managed poorly by what appeared to be teenagers until the night of NYE. Even then we were seated 30 minutes late. Pool area was filled with running, yelling kids making it unusable with no adult hours. Food was overpriced and poorly cooked - even the breakfast buffet had cold scrambled eggs and mushy berries. Saving grace was a very comfortable bed and the spa services were AMAZING!

We had a wonderful stay and truly enjoyed our time here. The interior is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, the room was very comfortable, and the mattress was excellent — we slept great. The view was absolutely stunning and added so much to the overall experience. The pool area was also fantastic and very relaxing.
The only small note is that there was quite a bit of dog hair in the room, which we noticed during our stay. Other than that, everything was great and we would definitely come back

The property is beautiful, the location great, and we visit Skamania Lodge often. We had a great time in our last visit, but were a bit disappointed by a few cost-cutting/revenue-enhancing measures that we noticed, compared to our prior visit (about a year ago): guests are now charged for parking ($15); the avocado toast we usually have for breakfast is smaller and has less avocado; there was a table with bagels and lox; and we have the impression that the coffee station now closes earlier. None of this is a big deal, and we understand that costs in general have been increasing, but at the same time hope that the measures will stop at that.
