Very quiet and peaceful area. Amazing views on the nature from our bedroom. Nice hotel and room. Comfortable beds. Great breakfast (good choice). Nice swimming-pool. Friendly staff. It would have been nice to have a kettle in the bedroom for tea and coffee. Also the -2 floor (under the swimming-pool) was leaking and the ceiling there needed to be fixed and needed a little paint.

A lovely hotel situated in the middle of a rural area so driving is a must. Indoor and outdoor pools, sauna and treatment rooms available.

Food was good but repetitive so most days we had breakfast then spent of the day out and had dinner before going back to the hotel.

However even after booking the Spa there was no staff there to facilitate and we were not able to use this. The room shower leaked. Not often staff at reception to help. Dinner was not good and very overpriced for what it was. The hotel is in need of upkeep.

Very nice recent room, great view on the pool and mountains - in a remote area. The small spa section is nice, but jacuzzi still out of service. Breakfast varied depending on number of guests staying, but was good both days. Very friendly staff. Gym equipment very minimal. Would stay again

This is a lovely hotel with a beautiful view and pool. The rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is a little isolated and you do have to drive to get to restaurants, beaches, town, but not very far. There is a restaurant and a bar and you get a fridge in your room.

From the moment you drive up the long driveway to Enigma, your first thoughts are that it’s a stunning hotel, an architect’s delight, with amazing views over the countryside. However there were some flaws of the hotel we noticed soon after entering the lobby.

The hotel has so much potential to be more and do better than it was. Let me explain:

No one was on the front desk at check in time and we were waiting for 10 minutes or so for someone to come greet us. The gentleman who did greet us was friendly and welcoming, however we found the whole service quite slow. There’s potential here to improve.

The bedroom itself was large, with a good sized King Bed and a balcony with a view over the countryside. Some furnishings were a little dated and rusty however. There is potential to improve here.

We visited the outdoor pool for the afternoon and this was nice, however the jacuzzi was closed and the pool itself seemed like it needed some better upkeep eg the pool ladder wasn’t properly secured and seemed broken. There’s potential to improve it here.

We had a complimentary spa pass (via Expedia VIP Rewards), but this wasn’t offered to us at check in, so we didn’t see the spa.

Breakfast the next morning was underwhelming to say the least. There was fruit, cereals, a few bits of charcuterie and cooked food to choose from, but the food itself lacked flavour. Also the coffee was undrinkable.

All in all, this hotel has plenty of potential to be something greater than it is already.

Our room really needed some tlc.
The air conditioning was controlled by reception which we were unaware off until chatting to some other guests. The air con is stuck on 23 degrees... to say it was hot was an understatement!

Secondly, our electricity kept going off in our room, after seeing the receptionist opening the electricity mains cupboard to turn it back on and off. We just saved ourself the hassle of doing it ourselves

Relaxing stay with a stunning view

Hotel is designish and with beautiful view. Spa area with sauna, swimming pool and jacuzzi. Unfortunately, jacuzzi was pretty dirty. Room very spacious with huge windows and a balcony. Such a pity that windows were dusty but the view was amazing nevertheless. Tasty breakfast with a view, cosmetics from Rituals, nice service, free parking. Very very relaxing! Loved it!

Shambles - poorly managed!!!

Had problems both locking and unlocking the room every day, causing us to repeatedly go up and down to reception. We could not lock the room, neither could they!!! We asked them to move us whilst we were out for dinner, they failed to do so, and left our door open with our belongings inside!!! Whilst staff were pleasant, they could not help, and at no time did anyone from the management of the hotel appear despite asking to see the manager on 3 occasions

Great decor, not so great service

The hotel itself is very nicely decorated, modern and updated fixtures. We did go in an off-season so it was too cold to enter the pool, but the exterior was well-maintained. The breakfast was also delicious. Where the stay felt short was the service--during check in, they forgot to give me the code to enter the room and then I had to go back upstairs to ask for the way to get into the room. I was told I could use my code or a key (but I was given neither) and then was looked at like I was the one who was misunderstanding the situation. During check-out, the credit card machine was not working and when I asked to pay with dollars, I had to wait an additional 15-20 minutes for someone to ask someone to then go and ask someone else. Once I was given the confirmation that I could pay in dollars, I was then being charged 50 dollars over what I was supposed to pay for the room as 'conversion fees' when the issue was their machine not my payment method. Lastly, when we went to use their indoor pool, all the windows were very dirty and had white dust so you couldn't really enjoy the view outside. It just was not the warmest of receptions--other than these service issues, our room was very nice, very comfortable and relaxing and the breakfast is fantastic!

A jem with picturesque view

The place is located perfectly not too far from the amazing beaches of South Portugal and yet isolated and very harmony and quiet. went running in morning in the beautiful trails nearby. The stuff was very professional and the bar at the pool is great, with the most perfect view of woods. My wife had a great massage and breakfast was a 5 stars with fresh juice and homwmade products. We shall definitely book again!

Great suites but eat outside the hotel

The suites are amazing, really spacious with beautiful views. The restaurant and bar area could do with a redesign though as there is little atmosphere, the food itself is also not great. The fish and meat were delicious but the vegetable sides were hugely overcooked and clearly from the freezer.

Breakfast was very good. Pool was ok- water quite warm and nice.

Unfortunately, the room wasn't soundproof as advertised. Also, as advertised there was supposed to be a spa service included and a free drink. Spa service turned out to be just access to pool/sauna/Turkish bath; while free drink for two was a standard bottle of water in the room... quite misleading..

Overall, was a nice stay but nothing special for this price

Hotel medonho e com péssima manutenção. Vidros guarda-corpos das varandas fissurados, puxador da porta do quarto solto, lâmpada da casa de banho fundida e um balde no corredor a amparar gotas de água do ar condicionado. Foi-nos dito que a \"welcome drink\" era... água no quarto... Absurdo.
A cama é confortável, o quarto espaçoso e vista simpática.

Et hotel som på billederne så helt fantastisk ud, og vi glædede os til en overnatning i 4stjernet luksus, men ak og ve - det er nogle dage siden dette hotel har været flot. Det virkede i den grad træt og synede af mangel på vedligehold
En tjener som iflg eget udsagn var ny i job, hvilket også er helt okay, men så spørg en kollega om hjælp når man er usikker på det engelske, vi missede noget af bestillingen da hun ikke forstod os.

Venlig personale, rent værelse og smuk udsigt og stille. Stedet har dog set bedre tider. Lyset var ikke behageligt på badeværelset eller værelset, morgenmaden var kedelig, man kunne ikke tænde vandhanen uden at det sprøjtede ud på hele badeværelset. Generelt var hotellet slidt og manglede kvalitet. Levede ikke op til forventningerne fra billederne online.

Vor Kurzem wütete ein Waldbrand im umebenden Naturschutzgebiet und um das Hotel herum.
An wenigen Stellen ist auch das Hoel betroffen.
Man ist sehr bemüht, einen normalen Ablauf zu schaffen aber es hapert noch ein wenig.
Alle sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und nett.
Wenn man das Hotel als Ausgangspunkt für die verschiedenen schönen Strände der Umgebung nutzt, ist es durchaus einen gute Adresse. Spaziergänge oder wandern in der nahen Umgebung sind aber nicht schön.
Da das Feuer wohl sehr schnell kam und ging, bleibt zu hoffen, dass sich viele Bäume in absehbarer Zeit erholen werden.

Wat een fantastische plek! Schitterend uitzicht, heerlijk zwembad, prima kamers, lekker afgelegen maar toch dichtbij allerlei mooie strandjes. Topplek!
Speciale dank aan de receptionist die zelfs een beetje nederlands spreekt. We voelden ons meteen thuis.

Helaas eerder weg gemoeten ivm bosbranden, waardoor de omgeving wel even zal moeten herstellen. Maar we komen er vast terug.

Överlag är vi nöjda med vår upplevelse. Frukosten var kanonbra och mycket bra service. Det fanns tyvärr inte så mycket att använda i gymmet och vi såg några kackerlackor på hotellets allmänna utrymme. Städningen var bra förutom att det var ganska mycket svartmögel i badrummet och specifikt i duschen.

Mehr Schein als Schein. 4 Sterne - niemals !

Wahrscheinlich bedingt durch die Corona-Krise werden viele dringend notwendigen Renovierungsarbeiten aufgeschoben - kurz gesagt die Bude ist an allen Ecken und Enden runtergerockt und teilweise sogar gefährlich (Bsp. Pool-Umrandung). Die Möbel auf dem Balkon waren so verrostet und schmutzig, dass man definitiv nicht darauf sitzen wollte. Das Reinigungspersonal wurde offenbar auch entlassen - überall ist Vogelscheisse, Staub und Dreck. An vielen Ecken hat man das Gefühl auf einer verlassenen Baustelle zu sein.
Das Personal an der Rezeption ist nicht gut geschult und wenig motiviert. Das Essen leider alles andere als 4-Sterne Niveau.
Und für 150 Euro die Nacht gibt`s dann nicht mal eine Flasche Wasser auf dem Zimmer - \"Water-Hotel\".
Definitiv keine Empfehlung.

O hotel em si é bonito, quer a nível de arquitetura, quer de decoração interior, simples mas muito agradável.
Do staff nada a apontar, todos muito simpáticos e prestáveis.
O pequeno almoço tem variedade e também é agradável. O sumo era mesmo de laranja natural e estava ótimo!
Já quanto ao jantar um pequeno reparo: a sobremesa era composta por uma fatia de bolo de chocolate, outra de pudim e a terceira de cheesecake. Nenhuma parecia de confecção caseira e pareceu-nos que valeria mais apostar numa sobremesa típica alentejana.
Para um hotel que tem Spa na designação, este teria que ser realmente um Spa. O jacuzzi não estava a funcionar e a água não estava limpa, bem como o duche frio junto à sauna que não tinha água nem havia possibilidade de encher. Sauna e banho turco fracos e mal isolados, quase não faziam efeito. Piscina média.
O ginásio fraco e uma das poucas máquinas que havia estava estragada.
Ponto negativo em todo o hotel, a falta de manutenção. A ideia com que se fica é que depois de construído, o que se estragou, assim ficou. No quarto havia pedaços de madeira partidos na porta do frigorífico e na cabeceira da cama, ambos feitos neste material. Na sauna pr exemplo a mesma coisa, bocados de madeira partidos.
Tivesse manutenção e seria de facto um 4 estrelas.

Sehr ruhig gelegenes Hotel. Rund herum ist einfach gar nichts.

Zimmer mit Seeblick - naja.. Wasserloch wäre die richtige Bezeichnung.

Personal wirkt gelangweilt und nicht wirklich bemüht. Essen ist wie fast in jedem Hotel in Portugal überteuert für das was geliefert wird.

In unserem Urlaub mit Abstand das schlechteste Hotel was Service, Essen, Gemütlichkeit etc betrifft.

Hotel grundsätzlich in Ordnung, aber es fehlt an Herzlichkeit und Liebe zum Detail. Das Frühstück war das schlechteste auf unserer Reise. Lieblos und es dauerte Ewigkeiten, bis Tische abgeräumt wurden. Überall waren kleinere Makel zu entdecken: Lampen, die nicht funktionierten, gesplitterte Balkonscheiben, Rost und Co. Auch wenn die Lage sehr schön und vor allem abgeschieden war, werden wir nicht wiederkommen.

Sehr ruhig gelegene Unterkunft, super zum Entspannen, um weiter weg zu fahren benötigt man ein Auto. Frühstück war gut, Abendessen ging so, es gab allerdings keine Möglichkeiten in der Nähe etwas zu essen.
