Very modern hotel with plenty of parking available. It is very close to a lot of shops and some attractions in the area which was convenient.

The room itself was nice it was advertised as a non smoking room but it did have a smell of cigarettes when we arrived, staff did offer to swap rooms but we were not there for long so we just used a spray to mask the smell.

Decent room, ok sizewise for a party of two.
But no add’l bedding is available in the room such as extra pillow or blanket.
Lighting is a little weak, should have more lights to make the room brighter. Also, needs more hanger for the clothing rack.

Stayed one night at solest enroute to takachiho. Hits:
1. Cosy classy hotel with nice decor
2. Quiet and clean rooms with full amenities available
3. Breakfast is good value, small but good spread, recommend to add on if not available with your room (¥1500 for adults, ¥750 for children below 12)
4. Friendly staff to help with food recommendations. They have a list of restaurants on a card depending on your preferred cuisine, and even helped to make reservations on my behalf, which is a nice touch.

A few misses:
1. Check in is self service while the staff are available at the counter. Not very intuitive interface and had problems with breakfast payment, so ended up still had to go through the counter staff
2. Room tv is quite outdated. While it can connect to network and play simple apps like YouTube, it was extremely slow. Mine had wifi connectivity issues and had problems playing some videos. Netflix is not available.
3. Rooms are a little too dimly lit. Maybe I didn't manage to figure out where the switches are for all the lights

The hotel is beautiful but it does not have room service. Breakfast is basic. But I can understand the occupant rate is not always at the peak. Room is roomy and huge. As the hotel doesn't provide room service and the restaurant has to make reservation a few days before (limited slot), we have to drive out to eat. There is no restaurant that is walkable at 4degree temperature at night. And also, many restaurants closed by 7pm. You need to drive out to eat. And not many restaurants are child friendly. This hotel is very near to takachiho gorge and we love it cos it's our purpose to visit. It's just 5 mins drive away.

Overall, I highly recommend you to stay in Thai hotel. It's clean and service is good. Most of them speak English.

We loved this hotel. We stayed in the premium room on the ground floor and it was spacious and beautiful with a terrace. The kagura performance is a short walk away and highly recommended to book in advance. Hotel provides cushion for you to use while watching the performance. The Cambodian waiter at the hotel during dinner was very polite and friendly. The lady who checked us in was also very helpful she Even offered to go to our room to help us turn on the YouTube channel for our child was we could not figure out the remote buttons in Japanese. Parking onsite is easy and plenty. Short drive to the gorge. Do book dinner in advance as it’s not possible to add on during check in. We would love to come back soon.

This property was very nice and the staff were the best. Super helpful and really nice. If you are thinking about booking get the dinner its really good and the value is amazing. I had to book afterwards and I was lucky they were able to fit me in, just book it ahead of time you won't regret it. The only small critique is I wish they had laundry facilities.

This seems to be the newest and probably the best hotel accommodations in town. Convenient to see the Kagura show at the nearby shrine. I would recommend it to anyone. Try to get one of the larger rooms.

We visited the Takachiho gorge, which is amazing. The hotel is located at a walkable distance. Facilities are fine and staff friendly snd helpful. Breakfast is ok too.
The only problem we had was that the beds are really too narrow to accommodate two adults comfortably and hence wr slept poorly.

The service staff is very helpful. We bought wine and watermelon and asked if we can have wine opener and knife to cut but they offer to help us instead, the service staff even provided wine glass and put the cut watermelon on a platter with presentation. What excellent services. The hotel is very comfortable with good mountain view in the morning. Reasonable breakfast spread too.

A very comfortable hotel in a good location in Takachiho. Walking distance to everything in town including the Takachiho Shrine, the gorge, and the local market. Rooms are large compared to usual Japanese hotels and have storage space for luggage or clothes. Lighting is good.

Other breakfast options besides the full buffet would be welcome or even just coffee/tea in the restaurant. There is a nice patio in front for relaxing.

The property was more like a business hotel setting with a small room. If you're looking for Japanese experience, it's not a property for you. However, it was fairly new and clean, the staff was very friendly, and the service was awesome! Our reservation didn't include dinner or breakfast, but we were able to add breakfast for ¥1500 per person at the check in. We didn't add dinner because there were plenty of restaurants near the hotel to close from. The front desk staff provided us with a map of all restaurants in the area. The breakfast there was a buffet style with basic Japanese items such as rice, miso soup, grilled fish, natto, tofu, etc. Not too spectacular, but it was fair. One last thing - the hotel is not a walking distance from the gorge for average American people.

We found it is best to visit Takachiho Gorge after the day trippers have left. In summer you can see the gorge without the ubiquitous boats after 4.30pm.

Our stay was amazing. The staff did everything they could to accommodate us and ensure we were satisfied with everything. Out of all the staff, one stood out to us; he was the only one who spoke English and was always available to speak with us since we don’t know any Japanese. He was extremely helpful through our entire stay. The food at the restaurant was very tasteful and amazing as well.

It wants to be a fancy hotel with fancy rates. Yet the bathroom smelled disgusting (moldy smell) and i squished a bug on the sheets. It left a bloody mark. The underside of the duvet had spots and also a previously squished bug mark. I have photos.
I immediately moved all my luggage to the hard floor part by the entrance. I wanted to change to a different hotel but nothing was available at no notice within my price range.
I slept in my clothes, then bagged them and threw them away.

New and clean. Room size is decent for what I paid. Water pressure for shower is strong. Free WiFi works well, there is hair dryer, there is no water leakage to the floor from the shower booth (happens often in many hotels), there was a English speaking trainee who was kind and helpful. Ikezaki san at front desk was helpful for recommending restaurants for dinner.
Hotel is close to most of the tourist spots of Takachiho area, walking distance. (Nearby takachiho temple) I rented a car from Airport and that will probably be a better idea to come Takachiho as some famous spots are a bit far off and can’t walk from the city center. Famous takachiho Beef restaurant “Nagomi” is good for lunch, “Hidari-Uma” is a good izakaya with good food but no English menu. Both walking distance from this hotel. Local convince stores are around too.
Free-parking. Breakfast buffet at JPY 1,100++ per person and reservation required.

The hotel was great, and very comfortable. Services were fabulous and staff very nice. Local area is limited, and most restraunts close by 7pm or are sold out of premium food selection. Would recommend renting a car to get to hotel location, unless you are ok with a three plus hour bus ride or and expensive taxi.

Lovely SOLEst - Japanese Style Room

The Japanese Style Room (denoted as Mountain-facing) was only available at ground Floor. Though it was a little disappointing that there was no mountain-view, the room cleanliness, staff hospitality and quaint town inclusive of the distance to Takachiho Gorge more than made up for loss in view. It was a very pleasant 2-night stay!

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. The hotel is located in the town centre and very close to the tourist spots. It was brand new and just opened for a few weeks. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. Staff spoke limited English but were very friendly and always tried their best to help. The breakfast and dinner were average compared to other hotels.
