White towels had brown stains on them. It would have been nice to have clean towels on our second morning but no such luck. The light switch didn’t work, but i was able to turn on the light with the base. The ice machine worked on Friday night but not on Saturday. The rooms were dirty, looked like someone either had blood on their hands or hair dye on the door frame in the bathroom, the “smell” was extremely over powering and like it was trying to cover something up. The bed “frame” was a metal platform that creaked and clanked when moving on it. The cleaning staff on Saturday morning were VERY loud. The 3 times i went to the desk, I only saw one person. I picked this motel for location and i knew it wasn’t going to be 5 stars, but it really was a dump.

This property had several issues: (a) carpets in hallways were dirty and had a \"distinct odor\"; (b) room was on 2nd floor with no elevator which is/was difficult for a person with mobility issues; (c) when I got to the hotel there was a woman on the first floor sitting halfway out of a window smoking a cigarette and she had a dog that was not on a leash who immediately ran up to me; (d) having previously stayed in a Motel 6 this is probably the worst property I have ever stayed at in their chain.

Front desk was friendly but didn't know how to cancel or refund the stay. The room was filthy and disgusting. I took multiple time stamped pictures of everything. Shower had built up orange scum on the walls, toilet seat and rim was wiped but that was it. Hair and dirt in every dresser drawer. Coffee stains a food stuck to the floors. Chair had food stuck on the seat. Looked like someone sneezed on the tv screen and it dripped down. Luggage rack was moldy.

Ok...absolutely no frills...no shampoo, conditioner. Room WAS clean, but tiny. ONLY 2 tiny bars of soap. No bar. No restaurant. No coffee/tea in any area. Nothing that was advertised. BUT...we were there to only sleep for one night after a show at the Indian Ranch. Of note, there is a restaurant called Blackstone that was EXCELLENT and close by. Downtown Putnam was very nice and close.

I arrived to an extremely run down facility. Only one front door worked. I was the told that the type of room i reserved was not available. When i got to the room I was in shock. There was no carpet at all, and no curtain, only a roller shade. There was absolutely nothing that was welcoming about the room( no art on the walls, no lamps other than the ceiling lights. No alarm clock) i tried to turn on the TV to find that it would not turn on, as the batteries were held into the remote with Duct Tape. I tried to plug in my phone to find that there seemed to be only 2 outlets in the room, and one had no faceplate on it, and only one plug in it worked. I have to say that the woman at the front desk went out of her way to help and make me feel welcome, but the condition of this property was AWFUL. To top it off, i was promised a continental breakfast, and was told upon arrival that there wasnt even coffee. UNBELIEVABLE to charge 138 for this. I have photos and a video.and will be calling the CT department of health if i do not hear back.

I *like* Motel 6. I stay here every time I am in its area. It isn't \"grand\", it isn't \"fancy\"... and it isn't expensive. But the sheets are clean, the room is spacious, WITH an desk, and good air-conditioning and heat. The staff are friendly and helpful. Good TV.

The restaurant, snack bar and coffe/tea in lobby were not available. The hallways and room had a strong smell of cigarette smoke. Only about half of the lights in the room worked. The windows open but do not have screens so you can not leave them open. The face clothes in the bathroom were stained. The shower curtain does not keep the water from getting out of the shower so the bathroom floor requires multiple towels. When I contacted the property to address the issues and try to come to a resolve the manager/owner was extremely rude and unprofessional. He got very confrontational and defensive which leads me to believe that he is well aware of the issues but would rather turn a blind eye.

Not many tv stations so watching tv isn’t easy. The building with the 1 king bed smelled like cigarettes the whole time. There is no dining here at all. Also the rooms are very small if you plan to share a 1 king size bed don’t expect to have much room in the room. The bed takes up most the space.

Got what I paid for.

Labeled as no smoking everywhere but the smell was really overwhelming, tv legs were broken and leaning against the wall. Speaking of TV there was no ability to watch TV as it needed to be connected to wifi which was non existent @ 9pm. Again since there was no TV I had to hear everything in the room above to drown the noise. I honestly can't be mad it's what I get for paying for the cheapest place.

We only stayed one night, but it was nice.
Pros:
Clean.
Easy check in.
Room was already cool when we walked in. Air conditioner was excellent.

Con’s:
Bed was very hard, but it was a strange mattress ; can’t place what kind it was
The hallway smelled so smoky. The carpets in the hallway could stand being shampooed to combat the smell. (I will point out that our room did not smell of smoke at all)
They advertised morning coffee, but I didn’t see any.
There were four of us in the room but not enough towels. The front desk clerk was very quick about getting extra when I went to ask.

This is kind of crazy, but we couldn’t tell which light switch operated which light. It was hard to avoid turning on the overhead light early in the morning because I wasn’t sure which was for the alcove.
I’d like to see a table lamp in there instead of only overhead ones.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay there and everyone was very nice.

I am not typically someone who leaves negative feedback, however, my experience with this Motel 6 was unacceptable. The reviews below do not accurately reflect the property. I would not have stayed here otherwise. I understand with Motel 6 - it is a budget friendly chain with not a lot of frills. I am okay with that. I have stayed at other Motel 6's with no issue. The first issue is that our smoke free room was completely infiltrated by the deep smoke odor coming from the hallway. It was inescapable and could not be rectified by switching to another room. Additionally, we just felt unsafe. We were approached/accosted by a woman who seemed high in the parking lot. Aesthetically, the property is unkept and run down. At that point, we made the decision to book a new room at another property entirely. A refund request has also not be honored due to us leaving without speaking to the desk. It was not a situation that could be resolved other than by leaving entirely. As noted, I do not like to leave poor reviews, but I feel compelled in this case as our experience was truly unacceptable.

Pleasant stay at one of the nicer Motel 6 properties we've visited. This is an upscale 1970s motel more recently added to the Motel 6 chain. It retains unusually comfortable beds and is located on a large and quiet property. There are some signs of wear here & there. It's a smoke-free facility but a slight smoky odor remains in the hallway probably from the carpet. Great little fridge with freezer and microwave. Good wifi. Plentiful and convenient parking. Quick, courteous check-in. We were pleased overall with this hotel and would stay here again.

The front desk folks were great with service and very nice. Needed an iron and ironing board, and staff delivered to my door. Room was clean and had all basics that i needed except for shampoo. I asked front desk to message housekeeping about vacuuming the bathroom air vent. Perfect location for accessing my events and for convenience. Cannot believe that the room heater was turned off when I checked in. Room temp was 52 degrees when we arrived at 8pm, and it took until 1am before it finally reached the set point of 68. Likewise, the baseboard heater in the bathrooms are not hooked up.
I asked for a different room, but conditions were identical, heater was off, and the bathroom heater was fake.

No idea how people give this such great reviews. Like did we stay at the same place?

Got there at 11pm exhausted ready to shower and bed. Floor was sticky at entry and the light switch near the door did nothing. Once I turned the room lights on using my phone flashlight I saw a sign on the entry light switch saying not to touch.

Shower was super tiny (no tub as stated in description) and zero toiletries available (also stated there would be).

Bed was actually super comfy too bad between a dog barking a few rooms down and the drunks in the hall it wasn’t quite till 2 am.

Go to check out and grab coffee. Surprise no coffee. The pot was broken.

All and all it was a motel but for the price I paid I expected at least what was advertised

Went to get in our room the exterior door to the vestibule was not secure, The people who seem to \"live\" there were in and out all night long through the unsecured door that they have propped open by flipping the lock latch in the downward position,The vestibule we entered through smelled like pot our room smelled like pot I went to go plug my phone in a wall outlet to find a dirty plastic cup behind the nightstand, we ended up in a room next to the staircase and again the people who \"live\" there were up and down stomping up and down the stairs all night

The hotel is VERY dated. Prob the most uncomfortable bed I've ever paid money to sleep on. Rather than keep the place up, they've filled the pool in and put pavers over it, so it was quite obv. Really run down, but everything else in the area was booked. But it was clean and safe.

Not the worst motel I’ve stayed in, but not much better than the worst. The staff was kind and attentive, but that is where the positives end unfortunately. The hallways reeked of smoke, weed and mildew and the air quality in the room was musty. There was mold and dirt in every corner & edge, floor and ceiling, the shower curtain was filthy, the inside of the mini fridge was filthy and the bathroom door barely closed. The towels were tissue thin and some also stained/dirty. There was no lamp in the room, just overhead lighting making it very difficult to share a room as a family with young kids going to bed earlier than us. No bath tub either, which doesn’t work with small kids. The beds were acceptable, overall the room was adequate for a person traveling alone who just needs a spot to sleep or maybe a couple, but disappointing for a family considering the nicer establishments we’ve stayed in at the same price point. I certainly wouldn’t book again with the family, nor would I recommend it.
