Such a great experience from start to finish. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly and helpful, nothing felt too much trouble. The setting is beautiful with a view that really makes the stay feel special. Food was delicious too, a lovely bonus on top of everything else. If you're looking for a place that ticks all the boxes, this is it!

Had a wonderful stay here and honestly couldn't fault it. The staff were attentive and genuinely warm, you could tell they actually enjoyed what they do. The views were stunning, the kind you stop and stare at every time you pass a window. And the food? Really good. Fresh, flavorful, and well worth staying in for. If you’re looking for a self contained retreat experience, this property is awesome. Having its own private beach is a plus for that. It’s an older property but beautifully maintained.

If you want to venture off the property, though, that’s a different story. It’s isolated, miles removed from the Kuta Beach scene. In my eye, that’s not necessarily a bad thing, mind you. I found Kuta Beach to be overrun with locals on the weekend and largely deserted during the week. Didn’t like the aggressiveness of the hawkers either. So I was content to stay at the Novotel and relax most of the time.

The area was quite and peaceful, rooms were well maintained and spacious however found lack in cleanliness when it came to mosquito and insects in the common pool and private pool.
Spotted a number of lizards at the lobby and dining restaurant, really unexpected at a 4 star resort.
A few fused lights and broken tile in Private pool.
Had found ants in the sugar pouches provided in room to make tea.

Checkin without explanation of the facilities. Poor breakfast food quality. Housekeeping not properly organized. Asked for preparing the day bed during checkin, in evening still not done. We checked in with 2 adults and 2 kids. Found 2 shower towels in the room only. Kids of other guests using the pool in normal clothes and washed off their make up from kids club face painting in the pool, needed to remind the pool staff the proper pool rules. Second day our room was not made up, asked reception to make up, 3 hours later still not made up.

We used this hotel on our way back from north lombok 2 days prior our return flight. At the end we used the Pullman facilities and restaurant next door instead as we felt of much better quality and service.

Nice rooms and great service. The property is quite far out of town so you need to take a car at IDR50k each way to get into Kuta.
The main down side was the pool layout, you could not have any sunbeds by the pool as pool was raised up on all sides. Bit of a strange design which made it hard to just relax by the pool which was a shame.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Novotel! We were hesitating between a resort and staying right in Kuta, but I am glad we chose the resort. It gave us a nice and quiet place to hang out that was a needed contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff were very helpful and nice! Huge shout out to: Leha, Erna, Ong, Sam (who gave the market tour), Rich man, and Ariana! I miss you guys!

Beautiful ethnic design and innovative layout of the rooms and private and semi private villas with individual pools. Great for families.
Staff were helpful and very friendly. Food was good, delicious breakfast buffet.
Above ground pool was beautiful and had a lovely view but not great for swimming, only accessible by steps.
Beach was beautiful but annoying to be constantly approached by street sellers.
We walked to the nearby hill with stunning views of both the ocean and the Madalika racetrack. Very annoying
listening to the sounds from the race track.
Hills and beach beside the racetrack was shockingly littered with plastics and general garbage.

We love this property it’s our third time here but it doesn’t seem as good as it used to be. Both our sinks were clogged and the stoppers were dirty. The restaurant has gotten super pricey and the service charge is twice other hotels. Breakfast was good but very limited in choice and quantity. For the price we hope for better.

My stay at Novotel was last minute, due to travel issues between Jakarta and Bali. I wish I would have spent my entire time at Novotel. The beach was amazing and staff incredible. The worst chain hotel I ever stayed! We booked this hotel at first because we thought it was a safe choice, as it is part of the Novotel hotel chain. Turns out that this was the worst experience we could’ve imagine. The room smelled like mold, the room really could use a renovation, and the breakfast food was not good. The hotel is very old and I am surprised it is still on business. Please do not stay there! Waste of money.

Fantastic location, not “overbuilt”, it works nicely with the local environment and doesn’t overpower it.

Nice beach front hotel with good breeze. Walking distance to a perfect spot to watch sunset. The sand is more pebble type and not as smooth as those found in gili islands.
Breakfast is good and breeze bar serve some good happy hour cocktails. Watch out for the flies though. It is just irritating you have to fight your meals with flies. Management should have installed those electric flies buster at the restaurant.

As for the rooms, they are ok and the only complains is there is no lift if you got 3rd floor room. Not suitable for those who have issue climbing stairs.

Now the biggest minus point if you stay at Novotel, you get screwed if you dont have your own transport. There are no gojek or taxi. Only private cars. They charged a return trip from hotel to Kuta Lombok for 90k rupiah. It is only less than 3km one way and you can imagine the amount you rake up at the end of stay. Hotel should have provide shuttle service like those at Novotel Benoa Bali.

Overall i still find Novotel the best hotel at Kuta and it is only the transport which is the biggest sore for visitors.

This hotel was one of a kind. From our travels in Indonesia this was our favourite hotel. Rooms and public areas were lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very good with lots of choice.

Wonderful Relaxing and Peacful

The facilities are clean and well maintained. There is wifi over the entire facility. It even reaches to the beach. The staff is very accommodating and was ready to help meet any needs we had. The beds were comfortable, although the pillows were a bit too fluffy.
They offer motorcycle rentals and snorkling, both of which I would recommend.
The breakfast buffet has something for everyone and is good quality. The restaurant for lunch and dinner has a good variety of asian and western cuisines and the chef is willing to change or make something specific that the guests request.
We were celebrating our anniversary and the hotel gave us a celebratory cake to our room.
This place is very family friendly and offers different activities for kids. The beach is private, quiet and peaceful. They offer cabanas for you to relax in which is a nice getaway from the sun and has a spectacular view.
The location of the hotel is very far from anything else around and a motorcycle or hired driver is necessary for exploring other areas on the island. In fact, I would recommend doing this as the entire island is very beautiful.

Very comfortable stay at Novotel

We enjoyed our stay in the Novotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the place has a very nice atmosphere and is very suitable for families with children. The layout of the area bordering the beach is set-up such that children will easily make contact and you have good overview as a parent. Our son had plenty of friends to play with. Breakfast is very extensive with a wide range of choices. We didn’t notice in any way that (north) Lombok was hit by a severe earthquake. The roads on the island are very good, and with little traffic transport is convenient. From the Novotel it is easy to make tours to any location, we made a nice snorkeling trip. We expect we will return here another time!

This hotel is a disgrace to the novotel brand

The rooms are average. They charge a lot more compared to most hotels in Lombok. Most of the rooms are very far from the beach. The food is below average. The beach is below average and they have done very little to improve the beach. You cannot see the ocean from most of the rooms, facilities and restaurants. They have marked up the price on everything, including water. They charge 30k for a 2 litre bottle of water. There is very little to do and see nearby. The surrounding area are mostly construction sites for new hotels, and you have to get a car to go to the nearest town. Do yourself a favor and avoid Kuta beach in lombok. Prefer Senggigi or any of the other beaches . This is by far the worst hotel that i have stayed in my 10 day bali & lombok trip, and most of them are priced way less than this.

We had a wonderful 8 days holiday in this amazing resort. The service by all staff was first class. They all smiled and did whatever they could to make our holiday perfect. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Not being a very good sleeper we were moved and upgraded to a quieter room after the first night. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with beautifully clean bathrooms. The choice of food at the breakfast bar was fabulous catering for all tastes. The manager was always visible and available and checking to see if he could do anything for us. The beach areas were kept spotlessly clean with plenty of seating areas and sunbeds. Swimming pools were clean and in keeping with the character of the resort. Activities on site and visits around Lombok were well planned and could be arranged on an individual basis. We were treated as 'special' guests at all times. When it was sadly time to leave the kitchen staff made up lunch boxes exactly to our requests - plus a little bit more. Laundry service was excellent. We really felt as if we had made friends, particularly with the staff in reception and the 'beach boys'. We had an amazing time and cannot wait to return. Thanks to everyone for making our stay perfect. It was a real team effort.

Nice hotel but noisy and unclean beaches

Offered a lovely upgrade for a good discount so the room was great. Food and service both good. However large groups were allowed to use a microphone for activities all weekend beginning before 7am.
Beach is full of rubbish just either side of the hotel but tidy out the front, as is the town. Beach water contaminated by river runoff from monsoon rain. This may be different in the dry season. Local villagers very aggressive making for an uncomfortable and irritating stay.

Our stay in the Novotel Kuta was exceptional. Lovely, clean, beautiful rooms, breakfast fabulous and a clean beach .
However the pillows on our bed were a little high but when looking closely the pillow cases were too small for the pillows so I took mine off!
The beach is nice but the water too smirky to snorkel in. There are lots of activities if you want to be occupied. The spa is great and discount offered to on line members . Only $3.50 by Novotel car to get back to the center of town.
Highly recommended ! Thanks Ashley for going out of your way for us.

Our initial room smelt stale and mothlike, the staff were helpful in moving rooms for us but the second room also had issues, bathroom smelt of sewerage. Again this was attended to. Food was very disappointing and the location requires taxis in and out of Lombok. Beach is stunning but we found this resort expensive and disappointing overall

It's a beautiful hotel but

It's a beautiful hotel with beautiful villas. There was an issue with our air conditining on our first day. They immediately repaired it and sent an apology letter. Staff were all very polite.

However, because we were there on low season, buffets everyday and night activities were cancelled which was disappointing as we were looking forward to it. Also, if we pay for a private beach, we expect privacy but we were disturbed by sellers trying to sell us souvenirs and wouldn't go away even after we declined.

I would suggest that the hotel should provide shuttle to the restaurants and shops outside at night, if your buffet and night market is already cancelled.

All in all, the experience wasn't great as I could have done this in any other hotel. There was nothing special for the price we paid.

Restaurant service suffers from trainee staff lacking English. Food often delayed for 45 minutes or more at busy dinner time.

Area set to change with 3 new hotels to be built nearby in next few years. Novotel will probably be refurbished as part of this shake up.

Disappointed. More like 3-stars resort.

This gonna be a long review, as I stayed for a week (6 nights), and I utterly disappointed with my stay. It was flagged as 4 stars resort, but honestly it doesn't felt like 4 stars, more like 3 stars.

Cons:
Everything is subpar. The hair dryer is not working, toilet smelled nasty, sink was clogged. The housekeeping didn't clean the room completely. Bottled water was not replenished. There was yellow stains on the duvet cover. (Room #309). The staffs can't communicate in English well. The outside gents (nearby the pool) was nasty and smelly as well. The fruits given on the beach was bad (or almost bad). The foods were ridiculously, ridiculously expensive (5X than Pekan Kuta's food places). One fried rice = a day scooter rental (Rupiah 100K) ! This is an isolated place, so maybe that's why they charged crazily, but come on, 3X is acceptable, but 5X ? Checkout took about 20 minutes to complete, and I booked for airport transfer at 2:00PM, the van came 20 minutes late (so no purpose of early booking then). Super isolated from everything else (other than Segar Beach) - you need to rent scooter to move around.

Pros:
The beach view (room #309), the room decor, private beach, fast internet, free activities carried around all day, the pool, isolated so super private.

I don't enjoy my stay. Sorry for the long review, but for the price paid, it was not worth it. Not sure of other Novotel's chain, but I will not choose this resort anymore.

GOOD THINGS
The room was modern and clean, with all type of facilities.
The breakfast buffet was outstanding. One of the best breakfast buffets that I have ever seen. The quality of the food was also very good.
The service was ok, but for being this type of hotel the customer service should be better.
The hotel had a lot of facilities: swimming pool, activities, volleyball court, table tennis and much more.
There is a nice path near the hotel where you can climb a mountain and see views.
BAD THINGS
The beach is quite good but YOU CANNOT SWIM IN THE AFTERNOON(from arount 1 pm) as the tide is low and there are seaweeds and coral.
The hotel is near Kuta but is isolated. If you want to go to a restaurant or bar outside of the hotel you need a taxi or rent a motorbike. This means that you will have to spend money in their facilities
The prices of the food and drinks are twice as the other restaurants and bars in kuta or bali. (for example the cocktails were 100 RP and in most of the places the price was 50 RP). However, I must admit that the food was always delicious and the quality was better.
The hotel can leave you the snorkeling glasses but after one hour of use, you have to pay a ridiculous amount of money.
The price of the taxis and rent a motorbike was also more expensive than the ones in kuta
Having said that, the prices are still cheap comparing to the western world.
I will come back again.

Lovely Lombok

It is tempting to stay in the hotel grounds, with the pools, kids club, spa and beach, but do take the opportunity to venture out. Lombok is beautiful.

Booked superior room however on arrival we were shown villa upgrade for only minimal more dollars . Own pool and private and beautiful. Food and drink at hotel expensive cf town which is 5 mins away via scooter. Staff super friendly and helpful and great enviromment

Lovely location and decor; lacking in fuctionality

air con didn't work very well in either of our rooms (we upgraded during our stay).

the food at the restaurants on site is overpriced and not very well prepared. we were overall very unsatisfied w/ the food and would advise guests to venture off the property to find better local food.

the fitness center was in terrible condition with old, dated machines and some that did not work, along with no air con working in the work out room. we had hoped to comfortably work out during our stay and could not because the room was sweltering in heat and there were not enough functioning machines to accommodate us both.

the hotel is clean and the staff is very helpful and accommodating. we were well tended to, and we enjoyed the look and feel of the hotel, but the overall functionality of it was lacking. there are lots of activities on site and at the beach. the private beach area is also beautiful and relaxing with lots of lounge chairs, bungalows and bean bags for guests to rest on.

Great hotel, relaxing on the beah

Stayed for 7 days in Kuta, this is by far the best hotel in the area, all the staff are great, very friendly, very helpful, the bar at the front overlooking the beach was great for lunch or evening drinks, we met with Herman, a private driver at the front of the hotel and did 2 separate day tours with him, one to the waterfalls, some shopping, a local sarong/waving factory and the second day to a private snorkeling tour that included a magnificent beach front lunch of barbecued fish, 2 different reefs, one of which is little known and was by far the best and most spectacular - speak with Herman for more info. Aside from that, surfed at Grupuk which is only 15 minutes away by scooter, all in all a great holiday and a great place to stay.

Tired and not great

My wife, 6 year old child and I stayed for 9 nights over the new year festive period. We now wished we made an alternate choice of hotel.

This platform is not the place to vent but I have taken up numerous issues with the GM via Novotel. As is usual for him, he has provided a lengthy explanation of what will be done. He has a hugely challenging job and I wish the resort and its management well.

Recommend for everyone and your mom

My husband and I stayed here just one night, but wish we could stay longer. Four star accommodations, beautiful beach front property with breathtaking views and perfect sunsets. We noticed tons of activities for the whole family, enjoyed entertaining live music at dinner, but the secluded location made this place great. Best place to lounge at the beach, wish we could have taken advantage of more amenities like the tours and cultural aspects.

7 day break

My husband and I stayed at the Novotel Lombok so he could access the nearby surf spot and I could relax. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The good and drinks were overpriced considering what you pay in nearby Kuta but the included buffet breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Some of our requests were either forgotten or most likely lost in translation as I don't think English is understood as well as in Bali. We were impressed with our extended check-out due to my husband falling ill before we had to leave.

The resort itself is great. Set on a private beach it has all you need in the resort. Kuta itself is quiet but perfect for a complete chillout. A little more expensive due to being a Novotel but this represents great service in a beautiful setting

Better places to stay in Lombok

We only stayed one night before flying out having come from a beautiful villa on the other side of the island. We chose The Novotel because it was close to the airport. Overall it was just ok. I didn't like this part of Lombok (it was dirty, dry and barren and there was rubbish everywhere.) The hotel itself was pretty run down and the food etc was expensive for what it was. It wasn't terrible and maybe we were spoiled at the other location. But we won't be back. There was no information in the room about where we could eat so we were left to wander around with hungry kids trying to find a restaurant. They also overcharged us for the room and I'm still waiting for it to be reversed. Lombok is a beautiful place to visit but there are definitely better places to stay.

Overall, better than what we had in mind for a 'Novotel' which we thought would be a resort full of family and very noisy.
We had a villa and it was very comfortable, few bad smell coming out of the shower...Lombok is an Island and the hotel is not responsible for that!
Breakfast was not good, dinner at the bar 'a la carte' was good.
Cocktail were good, wine list could be improve vs all the international guests they have.
One very bad thing: The Spa. 2 therapists in Peak season so no availability to have a treatment and the spa staff were not really in a mood to find a solution for us.

Great Hotel, friendly and great for families.

We stayed here on the last part of our honeymoon tour of Indonesia. We were greeted by very friendly staff and complementary wine and fruit (plus a heart shape of flower petals on the bed). The hotel is great, it looks fantastic, really captures the spirit of Lombok and is nice and clean. There is also plenty to do here, boats, volleyball and best of all, wild monkey feeding!

The only downsides are that the bar and restaurant are expensive compared to Indonesia (UK prices) and we didn't really like the fact that the donkeys were kept standing in the sun all day without water (although these seems to be a problem with Indonesia as a whole from our experience).

We had a great time and the staff just made it that extra bit special!

Employees were friendly and service was okay but not proactive. The bathroom showed a fair amount of mold. Towels were not in good condition, the bathroom door did not close fully. Swimming pools were nice.

Superb location and ambiance

Relaxing stay and really a get away location from all daily hectic routine.
The first step into the compound you can really feel the relaxing atmosphere which will automatically put yourself in a very calm and peaceful mode. Perfect place to rejuvenate your energy. Fantastic.

Beachfront hotel but hotel is very run down

I'm sure in its day about 20 years ago this was a nice hotel it has been let go and in need of a lot of up keep. Public restrooms filthy. Staff very nice, only one restaurant operating while we was there for four nights so eating the same food over & over again became boring. Nothing within walking distance .

High expectations - big disappointment!

At this hotel, you won't have fun! The room was okay, but not up-to-date. Everything seemed 20 years old and the shower drain was blocked throughout the stay. The safe was quite disgusting and too small for a tablet. Also, it only worked after trying several times (the door needed to be in a very specific position to close).
Everything (taxi service, breakfast, dinner) was extremely overpriced and poor quality at the same time. Initially, we planned to rent a scooter from the hotel, but after inspecting those, we were rather concerned about our safety. Plan B was to get a scooter from Kuta, however, people told us not to rent one from a 'competitor' as it's not unlikely that people would remove the scooter at night and cause us trouble (as a pay back).
Last but not least, the beach quality goes beyond a joke. You get nice hammocks/relaxing beds in the beach area, but you can't go into the water as it's covered by plastic rubbish. Also, there are local kids everywhere trying to sell you stuff you don't need. They are so persistant that they wake you up to offer a bracelet.
I would recommend to stay anywhere else than at Novotel. You safe so much money and you'll be less frustrated.

Nice resort with beautiful beach view

We had a wonderful experience in the resort staying in a family villa facing the beach. The villa has a coffee machine, big bath tub (2 persons) facing a TV, shower place and toilet. There is a jacuzzi in front of the villa. We like the view as we can watch sunset in the evening. Very convenient for us to go to the beach. The kids can play beach volley ball, ping pong and basket ball. Hotel staff are friendly.

Not what it should have been...

On paper the Novotel is fantastic and the amenities are great. However, I was left with a very bitter feeling when I was extorted by the hotel driver. I also found that many staff members were not as welcoming or accommodating as I would have expected. Some of the guys in the beach hut kept pestering us for money. I also had to make several requests multiple times before anyone would act on them (i.e. room service, borrowing a pen, etc.).
