I enjoyed staying at Hotel Minatoya for the most part. The staff was nice and as helpful as they could be without speaking much English. The room was clean and not too small compared to some other Japanese hotels of a similar price. The first night I was there, I seemed to get a few mosquito bites, though I didn't see the mosquitos themselves. The front desk gave me a mosquito deterrent that actually didn't smell bad. The only real issue I had with this hotel was that it was kind of far from most of the food options. I suppose it's a trade off though because it's relatively close to the train station. I would consider staying there again.

It is a budget hotel (8100 yen for one night and breakfast is included) and is a good one. Free bicycle for rent (embedded with a lock), an indoor public bathroom with sauna that open until 1am, nice breakfast, close to JR (5mins walk) l, a few restaurants and convenience stores are within 5 min walking distant, a tidy room. Yes, the hotel and rooms (at least my room) are really quite old, but I would say it meets all my expectation for a budget hotel.

見えるところにコンビニがない。ロケーションは悪いが駅近いのでなんとかなるかな。居酒屋ばかりでアルコールが苦手な人は食事に行きたくても歩いていける所は少ない。浴衣は不便。袖が引っ掛かりお湯をこぼしてしまったり顔を洗って袖を濡らしたりと。ベンザガ冷たい。部屋に換気機能なし。お茶も毎日ティーパックをくれますが、緑茶のみなので一つはコーヒーか紅茶などにしてほしい。

バイクの旅ですが、大雨に見舞われてびしょ濡れの旅でした。が、ホテルに着いてびっくり。屋内の駐車場で、しかもコインランドリー付き。ホントに有り難かったです。決して新しいホテルでは有りませんが、きちんと掃除も行き届いており、スタッフの接客も気持ち良かったです！あまり期待をしていませんでいたが、見事に期待を裏切られました。
