I was extremely and positively surprised of how nice and close to everything the hotel is
i had some doubts because of some reviews…. But honestly they might have changed management, because it’s outstanding.
Hotel is literally 10 steps from teatro Juárez.
Our room has a balcony to a nice alley.

Charming and historic with an amazing serenity. Not ideal for people with a lot of luggage and/or no car. The hotel is located in the center on a pedestrian only road and does not have elevators. Highly recommended for this area. Very luxurious feeling for its character and age.

My original assigned room for 4 people was much too small so I asked if they had a more spacious room. They immediately, switched us to a much bigger room, no questions asked, no extra charge. In addition, my flight back home was at 9:30pm, hotel checkout is 1pm. I asked if we could keep the room past the checkout time so that we could keep our luggage there and so we could rest before heading to the airport at 7pm. They offered to extend my hotel stay an extra day AND at half the price of my original daily rate (which was already a great deal). I happily took up on their offer. Because of their courtesy my family and me enjoyed an extra morning and afternoon in the City as we left the hotel at 7pm (as opposed to 1pm).

Not at all what it says it is.

The rug needed to be completely changed big time. The towels had holes & were very tattered. No Air Conditioning at all, Just the noisiest fans ever. Couldn't sleep. girls who cleaned were very nice. The guys in the front of hotel need to be a bit more talkative, smile. Needs a BIT re-vamping to say the least. Only Best thing was great location.

hotel located very near to Teatro Juarez and restaurant area & plazas. Fairly maintained, reception desk staff amiable; you climb stairs to get to rooms. Sound of Church bells wake you up early around 6:30; Shower hot water unavailable early, for hot shower 13:00hrs best time. We had to call several times for 2nd towel plus extra blanket due to cold nites

Terribles pillows and beds, bath's door can't be closed, hard access to rooms. One star hotel with the price of a 4 star. The only good thing is the ubication, 50 meters to Teatro Juárez. The street is usually closed, so you have to carry on baggages walking a lot. One of the worstest hotels ever.

Boutique hotel close to everything

The hotel is close to everything. In the centro. We had room 29 which was a lot more quiet than rooms in front. But 2 floors up, no elevator. Good exercise but tiring after walking all day. I would ask for the same room just because it was quiet. Rooms need updating and TLC. The pillows are awful. Pricey for what it offers. Restaurant next door has amazing pasta and pizza. Overall, good.

Superb Location, But Old And Dark

A great location, very hard to get to. Despite website suggestion, they have no parking. Have to use municipal parking 4 blocks away and it aint cheap. For the hotel, you need to do steps - 31 to get from check in to 1st floor. The building was built in 1684 and it was the old counting house. Built like a bank. We had an inside room which was blessedly quiet, but no windows. Lighting was far below average - reading was quite difficult. The whole place (including our room) is full of vintage Catholic imagery, if you're into that type thing. The king bed was comfortable, but pillows were like rocks. The vent in the bathroom consisted of an 18\" diameter hole in the wall above the shower - brrrr! We had lukewarm water for 1st morning's shower, then hot the 2nd - with more guests - weird.

You won't be disappointed by this charming older hotel. It's about 50 years old, but is clean and suitable. The location to all the activities in the old Centro district is a huge convenience. The price is right. We wouldn't want to spend a lot of money on a room, when we are there so little of the time. The building is from 1685 where they made coins/money for centuries before remodeling it into a hotel. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They helped give us directions when needed to find places in town, including where to change money for the best rates. They found and brought me a fan to the room for added comfort. They went above and beyond in finding and arranging an early-morning taxi to the airport upon our departure. It was old colonial and comfortable. Even comfortable bed and pillows. There is no elevator, but great exercise going up and down the stairs. They will help you with your luggage if needed. Wi-Fi was provided, but it worked better out in the open foyers with lots of comfortable seating. Great for gathering or visiting if you're traveling with a group. We will definitely stay there again! Guanajuato is a very charming, \"magical\" city established by the Spaniards in the mid-1500s. Lots to see and do.

A charming, central inn

Guanajuato is very crowded and noisy during the Cervantino festival. My husband and I had a room near the front of the Hostal, and could hear revelry from the streets until quite late. My son and my brother shared a room at the back, and were much less aware of the noise level. The location is terrific, otherwise: mere steps away from the Juarez Theatre, and an easy walk to most sites of interest in the Historic Center. The hotel is charmingly appointed and decorated. Guanajuato is a delightful city, and often overlooked by American tourists.

Unique Hotal, Great Location, Helpful Staff

This is no-frills hotel which offers a comfortable bed and decent-sized room. It is not a sterile cookie-cutter hotel; the building is unique and interesting. Great for vacationers. The best thing about it is its location, It is a 5 to 10 minute walk from most of Guanajuato's main tourist attractions, not much longer to the rest. The staff was freindly and helpful. One possible issue: The hotel is across the street from a rock bar which play amplified music very late, so if you like to go to bed early, you should request a room in the rear of the building. I would happliy stay here again.

We were very pleased with location,very central in historical part.Was supprised at the size of the room.Cleanlyness was super.Personnel at front desk very cooperative (even though there was a communication barrier because of the language.There were only 2 problems we found(not serious) one was the time we got our room(4pm) and also ther was no place for breakfast at the hotel .The majority of restaurants only open at 9am )

ここのセイフティボックスは壊れたただの金属の箱です。南京錠を持っていてもチェイン鍵を持っていても使用不可です。部屋は女中部屋のような狭さで、スーツケースは開くことはできません。トイレは座ると洗面台が体に当たります。前の道路には車は通れません。タクシーやウーバーを使用するときは７０-100mぐらい歩かないといけません。立地条件は最高でスタッフは殆ど英語は話せませんが親切でした。
