A big hotel close to the airport

This is a huge hotel, somewhat dated. The room is big near a shopping complex and very close to the airport. Not a bad choice if you want to stay close to the airport.

My overnight stay at this property was true eye opener. The hotel is touted as one of the largest in Asia, and I have to agree. It is well maintained and near some interesting shopping venues. The gym was handy and well equipped. The buffet dinner is a good value with a wide variety of international dishes. My only criticism was the black mold growing in the shower stall. A little bleach should solve that problem. Xiamen is such a welcome relief from the other crowded cities in China.

Hi,
For the first time with booking a hotel with hotels.com the hotel were advising that they were not aware of my booking. Which in most scenarios would not be such an issue. As i was in Xiamen China the language barrier was not that great. They could not fond my booking on their system and as a result i had to call Hotels.com and get them to resend my booking to the hotel. This process took in total an hour, which after 16 hours of travel and having lost my luggage added to the frustration.

Convenient hotel nearby Xiamen airport

Xianglu is close to the airport and therefore convenient.
The hotel is large and has restaurants, but
not much to do outside the hotel.
You can see the airplanes landing directly above the hotel, so it could get a little noisy outside,
but it's quiet in the room.
The room is spacious.

Very enjoyable experience

Our stay at this was great. The only set back was the hotel is located right under the airliner landing flight path of the local airport. The jet noiseness could be irritating. The breakfast menu was fantastic with great variety. The security was extremely tight due to a incoming meeting of world leaders. Everyone is under a watchful eye of local authorities. A new shopping mall was just openned right across the hotel is a plus. The food court in the mall has great selection of local taste.

Language barrier was horrible!

Even with a translator the staff couldn't understand our request. We were stopped there for an extended layover and paid for the room (for the whole night) just to use the facilities (shower, pool, gym, nap etc...) and the front seat refused to let us check out that night (to catch our flight). They insisted that check out was at ...pm the next day! We just ended up leaving to catch our flight (obviously!)
The facilities don't match the pictures and have strict access rules (MUST wear a swimming cap that you HAVE TO BUY).
I will not be returning and don't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice hotel. Staff isn't helpful.

Nice hotel. Beds were comfy. Shower was nice. Front desk staff wasn't helpful. I understand there's a language barrier, but if they can ask for my passport & acouple other things in English & also provide a map of Xiamen, they should be able to show me where the hotel is located on said map

STAY AWAY!

What a disaster, stay away!!! Rooms are very badly ventilated and because of this the humidity can only go into the fabrics. Everything is damp and uncomfortable, airconditioning does not work very well. Total fail!!!

Two days of nightmare

Absolutely horrible experiences which I never would think back... Two days of friendly neighbor(both sides) banging, scolding children, big laughs, yelling until 2 am... When I went to the front desk to complain, all I get is a \"we are an event-oriented hotel and our guests are just a little too excited, we ensure they will be quiet in no time, we are a 5 star hotel.
I don't even talk about the fake 4 star hotel anymore... If you would like somewhere loud with no change room policy, please stay there!

Good local style hotel near Xiamen Airport

Good hotel and good value, near the airport as well. Unfortunately the hotel staff are more local Chinese oriented as they originally refused my check-in due to \"no reservation\". As it turned out, they kept on checking reservation under my Chinese name, instead of the English one which is what I used to book at Hotels.com!

Brand new hotel so its still in good shape. Lots of petty rules distracted from the overall experience - for example they wouldn't allow me to take a cup of coffee (even a paper cup) from the lounge to my room.

Big hotel big room but run down condition

Air conditioning system was broken. Water for shower was hot even i switch the mixer to the coldest possible, broken shower water mixer. Was given a room change. Service is good. Helped with taxi booking. Location is near airport. Overall is a average hotel with low maintenance of its facility. Better hotel elsewhere for the price

Typical Hotel in China

No problems, the staff are semi-english speaking but I had enough mandarin to get by - food is good but pricey for Chinese standards.
No room service and some confusion over reception & operator function - In short fine for stay if you have some experience of China prior but you may struggle as a newcomer to get what you want

The buffet dishes were very dirty. I thought it was just a one time thing but every night I had to sift through the glasses to find a clean one. The food was also cold every night. The hotel air conditioning must have been broken and the room ac was blowing hot air. It only seemed to work during certain times of the day. Its just very uncomfortable when you wake up sweating and cant go back to sleep.
I will not stay at this hotel again.

Great location

ok generally, but encountered some problems at the check in counter. The staff did not have any information on my booking though I have received the confirmation on my phone. They could not read the information in English on my hand phone and took a while to sort it out. As I had a lunch appointment, I was held up unnecessarily. I checked later to find out the problem but was only told that the hotel did not deal with Hotels.com directly but with a third party. Need to improve on this.

チェックインの時に人民元で300元が必要になりますので、現金かカードを用意しておかなければなりません。
ATMがフロントの横にありましたので、助かりました。その際、フロントの方々が親身に対応してくださいました。
建物も部屋も大きく、綺麗で、快適でした。

部屋は広く快適に過ごせた。(Superior Room)
ただ、周辺に施設がほとんど無く、食事するのも難儀する。
英語はほぼ通じない。
中国語が出来ないと長期滞在はきついかもしれない。

有点失望，设施旧了。房间很多，到电梯口要七拐八拐，担心如果发生火灾怎么办。游泳池所在那层黑呼呼的，连灯都舍不得开，一帮熊孩子吵得乱轰轰的。

Wir sind sehr spät in der Nacht im Hotel eingetroffen. Das Hotel an sich war völlig unübersichtlich und das Personal unfreundlich. Wir mussten extrem lange für das Check-in warten und dann wurde uns auch noch ein Zimmer gegeben, welches schon besetzt war...

공항에서 택시로 4km정도 되고 뒤에 커다란 마트가 있어서 괜찮아요
