Stayed here while in Montreal for work and had a great experience. The motel was quit and relaxing. I especially loved the beautiful location by the lake.
Over all was a pleasant experience.

Only downside was the cleanliness.

This property was very dirty. It had no lighting outside that worked. It was dark and creepy. No safety locks on door inside. But...the bed was very comfortable. And I did get a good night sleep after 16 hrs on the road.

It's an old, family-ran motel. Pretty dated but it was great for an overnight stay. Bed was comfy, unit is clean, water pressure is good. My room had a kitchenette with basic amenities but we didn't really use it. The staff are nice and friendly and the views are beautiful! It was a relaxing stay.

The owner met me close to midnight and insisted i park on the grass which was snow covered. I was driving a 26' Uhaul towing a trailer with a car and knew this was a bad idea but he absolutely insisted and kept saying \"no problem\". Well it was a problem and for stuck. 3 hours the next morning the 3 of us and a local tried to dig out, removing the car, trailer and buying kitty litter in the process. The owner and his wife were extremity helpful I will admit, they were relentless in their efforts to help fix their mistake including not charging me for the one night stay. On the other hand $500 for a tow truck to help pluck the uhaul and trailer out was obscene and not worth the hassle which also cost me to lose my next motel non refundable reservation of $180. The towels smelled funny but other then that it wasn't a bad room, just don't park where it isn't paved regardless of what the owner tells you

it is right beside the lake. hotel was very old. Heater was not good but good thing is that staff give us portable heater but we still feel cold. Nothing special or unique. Its like you get what you pay for. $90 for one night is good enough to get sleep and ready for next day travel.

Location is great. A family run property and the owners are cordial and welcoming. Planned to stay for one night but than my car broke and had to stay for 3 nights. Owners were so cordial that he even offered a discount on my last night stay plus extended my checkout time. It’s a waterfront property. Rooms are clean and spacious.

If we were not stuck for a room we would never have stayed here. Room carpet was old and dirty. There were hairs from previous people on toilet and in bed. Light switch for bathroom was actually inside shower curtain when shower was in use. Showed with light in bathroom off. Would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Felt unsure about this property upon arrival as all the lights were off when we arrived. When we got to our room, we did not feel comfortable staying the night. Dirty, dark and overall creepy. We didn’t even unpack, we went to return our key, get our money back and leave for another hotel but the person at the counter had already locked up, turned lights off and left.

Such a beautiful location I must say!!! We were doing late check-in (around 2AM) but he made sure we have access after check-in hours.
Room was so beautiful, with mirror on the ceiling, we indeed got a beautiful picture.
Right outside the motel, their is a lake which was so beautiful in the morning, even though we stayed only for 1 night but it was a great stay.

Beautiful view, easy access. Good pricing. This isn't the Ritz-Carleton, but a good spot to lay one's head down for the night. A fresh coat of paint wouldn't hurt, but then again, you don't notice this while sleeping. Staff were friendly.

Motel Rive du Lac provided beautiful scenery with the lake nearby. The location was excellent with a nearby metro, restuarants and public parks. The motel itself is a little dated but kept in good shape. Would reccomend to future travellers intrested in the area.

It's an ok budget place to stop for the night.

The room was clean, the kitchenette cupboards were a bit lacking cleanliness but over all, it was ok. The lakeside is nice with 1 picnic table but the moise of the morning traffic took a bit of the magic away. The is a grocery shop at walking distance. The bedside lamps didn't seem to work but other than that, it's an ok place to stop for the night.

A little bit okay, a little bit not, great view

Staff lovely and helpful upgraded us to a 'better' room (although we'd paid extra already for two beds). 'Better included cost to the water and a kitchenette that was straight out of the 50s, but with less oven burners (just one of four).

Cobwebs in every corner but sit conditioning solid, if loud. Terrible musty smell initially in room, left door open during rainstorm and it aired out.

No cover on window in bathroom, so anyone going for a walk around the property can see right in. Not too bad of you close the shower curtain, but in the shower... You're plein aire.

Right next to the water, which is stunning.

Parking a bit odd and limited, but works if the first pression that arrives figures out to park on a severe angle.

Across the street from a grocery store, easy to get to off the highway.

The beds... Well if you're heavy like me, not great but my partner thought they were wonderful.

Mirrored panel ceilings...

Stains on walls. Needs paint job.

Lots of TV channels, we were able to watch hockey in French which was great.

Every time we flushed the toilet there was a terrible elephant sound for a good 30 seconds.

4 of of 5 plugs /lights didn't work. Was told at the front desk the next morning to fiddle with them a bit next time.

I wouldn't stay here for the price again.. I paid double what it's worth, although it's about on par with everything else in this area.

My boyfriend and I stopped overnight when travelling to Ontario with our two cats. We chose this motel because it was on route, pet friendly and a good price. The man who checked us in was very pleasant and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. My only complaint was that the room smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke, which is something I find very bothersome. I wouldn't stay here again for that reason alone, but if that is not something that bothers you then this place is a good deal.

Our flight landed at 2am and we checked in at 3am. It was so late. The website said check in was only until 10pm. The staff actually stayed awake and let us in at 3am. He was very nice and went out of his way for us. The hotel room was really nice, especially for a motel. We were pleasantly surprised with the condition and cleanilness. The next morning, we realized the motel is waterfront! We were literally right at the water's edge. Really neat! We'd definitely stay here again if passing through.

Good place to spend a night, kitchen very outdated, I would not use stove or oven. Exhaust fan in bathroom extremely loud and didn't do much in removing air from shower. The night I was there was cool required heat which was noisy, had to turn it off to sleep! Overall very dated and needs many updates.

My wife has asthma and needs to be completely away from the smell of tobacco smoke. Although, the hotel is now nonsmoking and it had been refurbished, the A/C unit must have not been replaced and it stank of smoke.

It is a family owned business. The people are very nice. It seems a little creepy from the outside, but inside is large, clean and well maintained. The bathtub/shower has an uncovered window in it which is also a little creepy. The bed was bouncy and kept waking me up, and the air conditioner needs to be replaced. But for a place to lay your head for the night, the price is very good

Nice location-jumping distance to the water. Down side of being next to the water is the black flies (billions of them). You must always shut the front door/car door behind you quickly or else they swarm into your space. Room was far too cold for my liking; I don't think the heating worked even when turned up to max. But, it was much cleaner than I expected and the amenities were sufficient. Wifi works great. Overall, not a honeymoon resort, but decent enough for a one-night stop-over. You get what you pay for.
