We stayed in cottage 308. It was very private and quiet. It's perfect for relaxing. The grounds are beautiful. This hotel is near the best restaurants in Briare. Great location.

Hotel was fine. Food was excellent as were the staff. Unfortunately the cottage (9) was very “tired”, and shower was a hand held shower head in bath without even a fixing to hold it onto wall - definitely needs bringing out of the 80’s. On positive note was it quiet.

This hotel is very convenient for Briare train station with excellent trains into Paris daily.
The staff are very welcoming and attentive.
Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable.
The hotel grounds are lovely, with lots of parkland and trees.

Vert Nice stay at the Domaine de roches. The staff was friendly end the cottages were very nice too. The pool was also nice, but it was a bit uncomfortable to go from the cottages to the pool and back.

Domaine des Roches: OK but not fabulous

The hotel is nice but appeared a bit run down compared to some years ago when I stayed there. We stayed overnight Sunday to Monday and unfortunately the restaurant was closed leaving us with limited dinner options in Briare town itself. No tea / coffee making facilities in the room. The breakfast buffet was also not as extensive as I remembered it from earlier years. Both the hotel and Briare town were surprisingly quiet given we visited in peak season.

This hotel is very nice, friendly staff and comfortable room. The food is good and reasonably priced, BUT they just made it too fancy, lots of cream and foam and different items together that did not necessarily blend. The portions were big. It was as if they were trying to get into the higher echelons of nouvelle cuisine but it ended up being too much and too rich. We only had three course but you could have had five, probably followed by indigestion all night!

Charming nice hotel with beautiful garden!

Family of four persons, we have been accomodated in two cottages in the garden, each one with one bedroom, spacious living rooom with dayly zone, fully equiped kitchen and dining table with an access to a cosy backyard with another table and chairs.
The surrounding is extremely beautiful, huge garden with lakes, ducks, many trees, tenis court, table tennis, art exibition. The main hotel is not too big - about 13 rooms and 12-13 cottages along the garden almost in the forest so that the place is very quiet and excellent for recreation. The hotel offers also a swimming pool, sauna and hammam.
Very nice and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast with tipical french goodies in a nice and cosy salon.

Nous avons séjourné au domaine des roches. La chambre était bien mais a besoin d’un bon rafraîchissement. En fait c’est l’établissement qui aurait besoin d’un bon rafraîchissement. Le petit déjeuner était correct mais le prix est un peu excessif par rapport aux prestations…

Belle chambre spacieuse avec petite terrasse, Personnel de l’accueil très chaleureux et accueillant. Les serveuses du restaurant peu souriantes (le soir), elles devraient sourire un peu plus…elles ne sont pas pour autant désagréable. le spa est quand à lui intéressant mais la piscine devrait être nettoyée (à cause des insectes) plus souvent : je voulais me détendre en fin de journée de travail. Le sauna, lui ne fonctionnait pas à la période où je suis venu (je n’ai pas compris le mot a l’entrée). Le petit-déjeuner est pour le coup super.

Un peu déçu pour 2 raisons : les chambres du château sont annoncées avec vue sur le parc sauf pour la nôtre, la N°16 qui est la plus petite et dont la vue est surtout celle du toit en tôle de la piscine. Le hamman ne marchait pas mais cela avait été annoncé. Le sauna semblait marcher, à mon arrivée j'annonce que je veux en profiter et une heure après, quand j'y suis allé, il ne fonctionnait pas. Prévenue, la direction l'a mis en marche mais il fallait une heure pour qu'il soit en température. En positif, calme et insonorisation, qualité du restaurant, dîner et petit déjeuner.

Délicieux restaurant au service impeccable. Les gîtes sont agréables et fonctionnels, le parc est très beau. Nous étions venues entre copines lors d’une étape de la Loire à vélo, nous sommes venus cette fois en famille. Nous avons apprécié la grande piscine couverte à chaque visite.

Nous faisions une étape sur le chemin du retour et voulions nous arrêter dans un hôtel offrant calme et soins corporels. Raté à part la piscine aucun soins disponible. La chambre est jolie mais demande un rafraîchissement, peinture s'ecaillant, et un ménage plus approfondi. Sinon il y a un beau parc permettant de se balader.

Séjour prévu pour se reposer et je suis totalement satisfaite, endroit très calme, paisible, la piscine était bien chauffée, sauna et hammam agréable, petite salle de sport sympa. Déçu par le confort comparé à la prestance

Très bel hôtel, mais dont le confort n’est pas au rendez vous. Il fait froid dans les chambres, un lit King size d’aspect mais composé de deux matelas pas très confortable.
Le SPA en supplément payant, mais la piscine « chauffée » ne permet pas d’y entrer agréablement, le SPA pas assez chaud, en revanche le Hammam agréable.
Très bon petit déjeuner.

Should be an excellent small hotel

Great location in a nice park. Unfortunately the hotel has serious maintenance problems. We had to move rooms 3 times due to these. The staff were excellent and handled our problems extremely well and professionally.
Food was very imaginative but do not expect large portions.

Le site en lui-même est magnifique et bien situé, mais deux ans après notre premier séjour qui nous avait beaucoup plu, nous avons trouvé cette fois l’établissement décevant. Le carrelage des toilettes et de la salle de bain de la chambre étaient sales, peut-être un oubli du service de ménage mais impardonnable pour un établissement qui affiche ce standing. Nous avions prévu les maillots de bain mais vu l’état de la chambre, nous avons craint que la piscine ne soit un nid à microbes, donc pas de baignade. D’ailleurs dans l’ensemble, le lieu est vieillissant et semble ne plus être entretenu convenablement (tapis en mauvais état, traces sur les portes et sur les murs, arbres non entretenus dans le parc)… Le petit-déjeuner est très complet et fourni, buffet à volonté (sucré et salé), mais les viennoiseries et les pâtisseries sont industrielles. Le personnel est poli et professionnel dans l’ensemble mais peu souriant, et même plutôt morose. La crise du Covid est passée par là, bien sûr, tenir l’établissement ouvert pendant cette période a dû être difficile et demander des sacrifices, mais il faut réagir rapidement si vous voulez garder vos clients !

Notre halte pour une nuit en allant aux festivité franco écossaises annuelles d'Aubigny sur nères, une bonne adresse à noter avec un bon rapport qualité prix pour l'hôtellerie et le restaurant, un beau cadre très agréable. Bon accueil et service parfait.

Excellent séjour, l'accueil était professionnel et sympathique. La chambre très agréable (et climatisée), le parc est magnifique. Nous avons pu profiter de la piscine et des transats dans le parc. Petit bémol sur la piscine, la véranda qui la couvre ne s'ouvre pas assez, la chaleur y régnant n'est supportable que dans l'eau. La salle de sport idem, et n'est pas climatisée, par ces températures elle est donc inutilisable.
