The hotel has no parking and sits in a restricted access zone with electronic bollards which if the staff advised customers in advance it would cause much less stress. Plus one car parking garage is 400metres but over old cobbled streets wheres another is 300metres with flat well maintained surfaces ( for luggage transport)
The hotel is in an excellent central and quiet street . The staff were in general very helpful and the hotel internally and rooms were very modern and comfortable.
Breakfast is somewhat limited and depends what time of the morning you wish to eat.
We enjoyed our stay.

The staff was absolutely superb. Josey checked us in late in the evening. He had lots of recommendations and information. The hotel stored our luggage the next day so we were able to explore Avignon. Room was very small, but newly renovated. All in all a great place to stay for a night. Walking distance to restaurants, great cafes, the market and historic sites. While the location is great to explore the old part of Avignon by foot, it is not easy to get to for an UBER or Taxi.

This hotel was very central to Avignon so we could use it as a good homebase while exploring the town. The room worked for four of us to sleep comfortably. We also had air conditioning which was a relief after traveling and staying in places that did not have air conditioning. The front desk was very friendly and responsive whenever we had questions. Would recommend and would stay here again.

Being in the walls of a medieval town parking and locating the hotel was always going to be difficult.The owner(I assume) was incredibly polite and helpful.As other reviewers have mentioned the property is being renovated so some of the features mentioned in the listing were not available which was disappointing.Unfortunately not a good night sleep as our room was immediately next to a road which seemed to have a lot of activity through the night.

Friendly helpful staff. Hotel is undergoing renovations so it is a little unfinished - suite needs more furniture such as a lounge & Coffee table, and more mirrors. Mini bar was empty. However this did not detract from our stay. There is a supermarket just around the corner and lots of restaurants within a few minutes walk. Location was great. Central to everything.

They were under construction on the floor where I was staying and just outside my room. There was no mention of being under construction when I booked it. At 7am I could hear people outside in the hall cussing the work. At 8am the work started. The room was very nice and clean but I checked after just one day. When I asked the manager for a refund he said no and “well your room was clean”

Everything about this hotel was top rate! Spotlessly clean, super friendly and responsive staff, location, price, and amenities in the room. Yes, the room was small, but when I travel I don't really expect to spend all that much time besides sleeping in my room. It is meant as a small, affordable hotel and not a luxury hotel and it far exceeds this goal. I highly recommend it.

One of the rooms we booked had several flying bugs. The receptionist went into the room to check the condition. Despite our objection of not applying insecticide to kill the bugs, she sprayed it right away when she saw them flying in the bathroom. We travelled with children and had concerned about the effects on kids. The family who supposed to stay in the room moved to another hotel and had not received any response from the hotel owner/management after a week. Very disappointed.

The AC did not seemed to work but it was not hot enough to make it necessary plus one can open the window (although sometimes you might hear a couple loud people in the middle of the night).

Hotel Medieval is in the heart of Avignon. It's on a quiet street which is excellent for sleeping. 1 block away there is a square with lots of restaurants. It's an easy and close walk to all the sights of Avignon ie Palais du Papes was about a 4-5 min walk. The size of the room was fantastic, especially for France. We looked over a quaint coutyard. We would definitely stay there again! We highly recommend Hotel Medieval.

Hidden gem right in the center

I loved this place! The staff was super friendly, offering suggestions on places to go as well as speaking slow French when I practiced my own (but always being ready to switch into English). The room was great and very quiet--the AC worked great and the bed was comfortable. I added an extra night because I liked it as a base for Provence and I would definitely go back.

Nice local hotel (and not part of a big chain!)

A well located hotel, very convenient, very close to the town centre and all its amenities. Charming yet simple, the hotel and its breakfast will please all, families, couples and businessmen/women. Very good value for money, the only drawback would be the few minutes walk between the car park and the hotel although to be honest, you get a hefty 20% discount on the « palais des papes » car park which makes it one of the best place to stay.

Started out great. Fantastic location. Nice hosts. Huge room.

However, upon checking in, we discovered that because my family booked rooms separately we had accidentally booked 3 rooms for 2 nights, instead of 2 rooms for 2 nights. This meant I had accidentally paid an extra 200+ Euros. I was upset to realize my mistake. The hosts said they would try to list the room again, and if they could book it, I would not have to pay for it. Even though I know it might not happen, I appreciated the offer greatly. The next day they told me they had booked the extra room, so I wouldn't have to pay for it! I was overjoyed because I could really use some of that wasted money back! I reminded them that I'd booked thru expedia & preparid, so a refund would have to go that way. However, despite confirming with them when I checked out. And having paid all the extra city taxes/fees to make sure I was fully paid up with them(no offer to waive). It's been 3 wks since & no reund.

Additionally, one morning the bathroom smelled like something had died in the wall or sewage had spilled. I couldn't be in the long enough to brush my teeth or shower. I went downstairs and they sent a maid up. She sniffed around. Told me everything smelled normal. She sprayed some \"air freshner\" as if that would solve it. Maybe a building that old has some issues, maybe it's \"normal\" to smell like death. But making it seeem like I was imagining it was insulting. Luckily it was resolved by the time I came back.

Unfortunately the value for money isn’t there. Hotel staff are excellent, however cleanliness and the condition reminds me of a run down Hostel.
It is disappointing for a EU hotel to be in this condition.

This is a nice little hotel very close to the Pope's Palace. We walked everywhere and there were plenty of good eating places nearby. The staff was extremely helpful making recommendations and booking a day tour. One thing to keep in mind: there is no elevator, so if you have trouble with stairs it might not be a good choice for you. We are elderly and the staff carried our suitcases to the third floor for us. We would happily stay here again on our next visit.

A very convenient area...just steps away from the Palais des Papas, the main attraction in Avignon. There is no elevator, so for those where that may be an issue request a first floor room. There are plenty of excellent cafes and restaurants to choose from in the nearby streets.
