Unfortunately I have no good review to post for this place. My room has had no air conditioning functioning. Also I have been waiting for a paid breakfast I have never received due to poor staff capacity.

Truly a magical place surrounded by rainforest but easy access right on the main road. I met the owner briefly and she had it built from the ground up to be a serene but fun jungle retreat. I didn’t have dinner there and I left too early for breakfast, but dinner was being served in the open air dining room and it looked fantastic. There is a bar as well. The lighted pathways meander this way and that to secluded rooms. The jungle was alive at night with what sounded like hundreds of birds calling to each other. As I sat on my patio listening to the downpour, I felt as if I was in Paradise.

Couldn’t have asked for a better place to start our Dominica adventure. Samantha gave ussuch great advice on our touring and our plans for our visit even though we weren’t staying long with them. So accommodating getting us where we needed to go. The river tubing right across the road was a great experience. the restaurant upstairs was lovely, and the food was terrific with enough choice. The drivers Nigel and Reggie that we had or super tour guides and answered all our questions. The showers are a little lacking in terms of warm water, but it is an Eco Lodge. Everything else makes up for it. We would stay there again.

We arrived late into the evening. We were picked up by the hotel, but there was confusion as to who we should pay. This was due to poor communication. No bottled water or milk in the room on arrival either. No proper explanation as to how to work the AC. Shabby inside with electrics and tap in en suite in need of attention. Breakfast was very nice, but this property is overpriced for what you get.

Would definitely visit again. It looked beautiful. Prices are same as you would expect in US. The staff is very nice and helpful. The food is good. We did not have the opportunity to walk the grounds due to me slipping and cutting my ankle. Beware of wet tile on patios.

This is in an idyllic forest setting. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fun and tasty. There is parking outside and across the road. WiFi is great. It's the opposite of quiet but the noises are rainforest sounds and cattle, which is restful in a different way.
The rooms are pretty basic and a little tired but have everything you need. It's convenient for the airport and river but there is no hiking near to the property.

Horrible experience at Hibiscus Valley

Hotels.com or Hibiscus Valley booked the wrong room. When I arrived a 1 room shack with no bathroom or A/C was waiting for me. I reserved and paid for a room with 3 beds and air conditioning and a bathroom. My CC was refunded because the correct room was not available. And I left.

We stayed at Hibiscus Valley Inn for 9 days in a Semi-Deluxe Room (#11). It was a wonderful experience. The room was great, the surrounding of a tropical garden was delightful. The staff (Shine, Linda, Coffee, Omahry, and Nigel) were very friendly and more than helpful.
Hibiscus Valley Inn is only 20 minutes (by car/taxi) from the airport in Marigot. The staff can organize tours to different highlights of Dominica. For a longer stay, we still recommend to rent a car to explore the island more independently.
Altogether we were very satisfied with our stay at Hibiscus Valley Inn and we are looking forward to return.

Beautiful location in the middle of the rainforest. To wake every morning to the sounds of the rainforest was divine…. The hammock got very well used!

The property is close to Douglas Charles airport, which is great, but it is extremely isolated if you don’t have your own car. It wasn’t easy to persuade tours to pick up here as most operated from Roseau on the other side of the island.

The staff are extremely hard working and very kind

The only problem with my stay is that I requested pick up from the airport when I arrived in Dominica. I supplied all my details by email and this was confirmed. Unfortunately it didn’t happen though, which is very disconcerting when landing in a country very different to your own when it is dark.

I had to resort to using a local taxi, which to say was terrifying is probably an understatement! Think curvy mountain roads at speed and overtaking on blind bends. Driver laughed at me when I asked him to slow down

Unfortunately this did not create a good first impression, but it was more than made up for by the rest of my stay which was exceptional!

Particular love to the 2 Hibiscus dogs who are gorgeous!

A small kettle in each room would be appreciated. As the property is so isolated it isn’t a case of walking somewhere to get a hot drink once breakfast is over. Also, either leaving some cool water out during the day for guests to top up water bottles or providing bottled water would be a good touch- not easy to obtain water with no car.

This place is genuinely a quaint rustic piece of paradise. The grounds are beautifully preserved by a delightful force of experts…. Special shout out to Auggie…. The meals are lovingly and expertly prepared by Sunshine, Rita, Nigel and Omahry….. and companionship is granted by Ginger and Spice…. It felt like home

What a hidden gem. Welcoming staff, lovely rooms, excellent food, & close to the river for a dip (they offer tubing trips too). Fairly close to the airport so easy to get a ride if you don't rent a car.

What a funky quaint place to stay. It was very rustic but comfortable. The staff was very friendly. Food was good and enjoyed meeting the other people staying there. There are six bungalows and set breakfast and dinner times. You eat what they have cooked for the meal. We liked it. They do accommodate for special food needs. We stayed there one night before we went to the airport. Very reasonable.

It's rustic and reasonably priced. However it iwas very difficult to get in touch with the property as I planned my stay. Additionally, I feel as if the owner is maladapted to dealing with minority races. She was extremely unhelpful when we asked for an international wall socket attatchment. She flat out said they have nothing like that here and can't help. We were in the wash room returning a wash basin as I had hand washed delicate clothing the night before at my cottage after returning very laye from a hike. The next morning in the process of returing the wash tools she came down to the wash room to tell us we ought not to be there and disappointing. The staff on the orher hand was amazing, friendly and helpful.

Comfortable and relaxing. Rooms are very clean despite the natural setting being immersed in garden and surrounded by jungle. Food and drinks at the on site restaurant were excellent. Offers tours including river tubing directly from the hotel which was a lot of fun and suitable for young kids. If you have a car it is less than 15 minutes to several tourist sites, adjacent towns, and airport. Great staff and a really positive vibe. My family and i really enjoyed our stay.

What a great relaxing stay at Hibiscus Inn!! The staff was wonderful, the food delicious and the setting was just what I wanted - quiet and private! I would rent a car next time since getting around the island is limited but I walked to the ocean, had waterfall and whale watching tours booked through the hotel's Eco-tours company, or tubed the river across the street every day!! Lots to do!! Thank you Hibiscus - Nora, Nigel, Omari, Rita and Karen!

This is absolutely the perfect place to stay in Dominica. First, the property is beautiful...in the jungle! Second, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful...seeet people! And thirdly, the dinners and drinks in the on site restaurant and bar are the very best I’ve had ever. Caribbean cuisine at its finest...and the best part? Very inexpensive! You’d pay three times the amount for that kind of quality in the US.

What a gem!

I loved my stay at Hibiscus Valley Inn! It has everything I wanted in a vacation in Dominica: he setting, the wonderful meals, the tours that were offered. The staff is thoughtful and kind, and as many other reviewers have commented, Nigel is an incredible chef. I stayed in a cabin, which was basic as I expected but very comfortable. I usually like to travel independently and don't tend to book tours, but driving in Dominica is not for the faint of heart, and the guides we met were just wonderful. We did things I would have never done by myself, like a hike into the woods where we cooked lunch on an open fire by the river. Other highlights were Titou Gorge, Indian River, Kalinago Barana Aute and Emerald Pool. Hibiscus Valley Inn makes it very easy to explore the island, and at the same time has none of the 'corporate' feel that you get in resorts. It's a family-run business, using local guides and growing much of its own food right on site - it's one of those places that is so hard to come by, and I would warmly recommend it.

I loved the location! Each bungalow is surrounded by lush tropical gardens. The sound of the river in the distance was delightful while relaxing on the porch.
Other than that, the place is poorly kept. It’s in high need of renovations and maintenance. Firstly the numbers on their website and Expedia’s site are wrong. We were finally able to arrange a pick up by the hotel but the driver was unrecognizable and drunk (We almost took another taxi). The room we paid for was not the one given to us. The room had cracks in every corner which let through all the insects in (we had spiders, crickets, walking sticks
Wood beetles). It was not a pleasure to have these insects crawl on us at night. The bungalows should be completely sealed and treated. Our face basin was blocked so it was a disaster to use. They finally fixed it the day before we were leaving. The bed was as hard as wood! It was horrible as we would toss and turn throughout the night and wake up with sores. The staff was kind enough to put two small mattresses to ease the pain. Breakfast was very deceiving; 1 waffle machine for everyone so it took forever, Broken toaster, and only a very small portion of eggs, Cold coffee that we had to pump ourselves. Nothing else ! Dinner was very good. It’s set menu so we didn’t always eat there. No local drinks only water and alcohol. A real bummer for this type of hotel. Overall we enjoyed our excursions but not the hotel. Luckily the staff was kind to ease the disappointment.

The first time I went to this Inn I loved it. This time they were understaffed, bad tempered and charged for items they didn't the first time. I like smaller meals and I got them but was still charged for full meals. An the first time I wasn't charged for breakfasts and was this time. I also had trouble several times on getting meals on time. Also as a single women traveling by myself this time was very uncomfortable with men who worked at the Inn.
