Deben mejorar varios aspectos. Desde que encendíamos el aire acondicionado, comenzaba a salir agua del techo y terminaba acumulándose en el piso de la habitación. Llamamos varias veces al lobby, pero nunca contestaron. Luego fuimos personalmente a Atención al Cliente, donde nos dijeron que enviarían a alguien para solucionar el problema, pero esa persona nunca llegó.

Además, los tragos como la piña colada y otros cócteles se servían muy aguados, aparentemente porque la máquina no funcionaba correctamente. También había muchos mosquitos dentro de la habitación, lo que hizo la estancia menos cómoda.

Las almohadas y la cama eran muy incómodas; parecía que uno estaba durmiendo en el piso. Definitivamente deberían reemplazarlas por unas de mejor calidad para brindar un descanso más agradable.

Fuera de esos inconvenientes, el hotel es pequeño, pero bonito y tranquilo. La comida es buena y el entretenimiento también. Los shows fueron excelentes y nos divertimos mucho.

Quiero destacar especialmente a dos bartenders: un señor que trabaja en el bar de la piscina y una señora del bar del lobby. Ambos fueron sumamente amables, atentos y profesionales. Se nota que disfrutan lo que hacen y lograron que nuestra estadía fuera mucho más agradable.

A pesar de las incomodidades mencionadas, pasamos un buen tiempo y disfrutamos de la experiencia en general.

I recently stayed at Playa Bachata in Puerto Plata, and overall it was a fun, family-friendly experience. The resort has a lively atmosphere with plenty of activities, but there are definitely a few things I’d recommend keeping in mind if you’re planning a trip.The beach is long and beautiful, with palm trees that give natural shade. It’s perfect for walks, though some areas can be rocky, so water shoes help. The pools are great — some are quieter for relaxing, while others are full of games and music.The buffet had a good variety, especially fresh fruit and local dishes. The themed restaurants were a nice change, and drinks were easy to get with bars spread around the property. My tip: don’t expect gourmet dining, but you’ll always find something tasty.

One thing to note: during our stay, we lost power for a while. It wasn’t a huge issue, but it’s something to be aware of — especially if you’re traveling with kids or rely on Wi-Fi. Visito este resort frecuente, y siempre mantienen los mismos estándares, esta vez lo único que pude notar fue la comida no tuvieron muchas variedades, la luz se fue unas cuantas veces y duró al menos 5 o 10 minutos para entrar, supongo que fueron problemas con la planta. Pero después todo bien como siempre!!! Me gustaría que mejoraran y fueran como antes con el menú que habían muchísimas más variedades.

This is a basic resort that you definitely get what you paid for. With only one pool in the resort for all the guests you can expect to find a lot of dirt, hair and other items floating. Our AC in the room also leaked water all over our luggage and got a lot of items wet. It took maintenance over 2 hours to get our room to attempt to fix the AC (which he did not) and instead just poured more dirty water over clothes we had drying on a chair. When we requested to speak to a manager no manager was available at night time, when we asked about possibly getting the clothes washed or dried, we were given many ifs and unknowns. The entertainment was actually pretty good but the food was just okay with at night time having no real options or variety. The beach was clean though and was overall nice. We will definitely not be back though, definitely not worth it.

Room and location of my room was excellent, hotel size for a family trip with kids was amazing. But as soon as we walked in, they offered a 90 min breakfast to get to know the next door hotel, that was a lie, they did give us breakfast but then consumed my entire morning trying to convince us to buy a luxury package. That was my only full day in the hotel, and they would not let us leave until I got aggravated, left at 12:30 to grab my kids and ended up eating a cold lunch and lost my entire morning. Dinner, I booked a reservation to a restaurant, location was provided incorrectly and I arrived 10 min late. Also, I ordered a beef steak that did not taste like that, I was not eating meat, just tried it and left my entire dinner, my food was salty. Food had flavor but salt over powered their meals, at to buffet as well. Fruits and salad were good. Drinks were watered down I felt. No real activity other than a basic hotel. I don't think I would come again. You can see the cruise ship leave in the afternoon from the beach.

This was our second stay at this resort since 2023. Our first visit was with family, and this time it was just my boyfriend and me. Once again, we had a great experience. The property is clean, well-maintained, and offers comfortable accommodations.The buffet was average (3/5), but I highly recommend making reservations at the specialty restaurants as soon as you arrive. Both the Italian and Steakhouse restaurants were very good (4/5) and provided a much better dining experience.
During our stay, the resort was renovating some of the restaurant and snack bar areas, with completion expected by the end of June. The upgrades looked great and should be a nice addition for future guests.
The beach was decent, with plenty of lounge chairs available throughout the day. The water conditions were surprisingly good considering storms were affecting Florida and parts of the Atlantic. The resort also offers several activities, including pool games, excursions, complimentary kayaking, and on-site jet ski and ATV rentals. There were nightly family-friendly shows as well as live music at the bar.
What stood out most was the exceptional staff. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. Special thanks to Gisselle for the wonderful facials and massages, Daniel for baggage assistance, Meille for the beautiful braids, Luis for keeping the pool area in excellent condition, Bulin for helping with presentations and restaurant reservations, and Ydalmy for her excellent buffet serv

At the from desk "almost" everybody was friendly, food is good, entertainment 👎, no wifi in rooms so if you want to make a phone call you must go to the lobby, there's no service at the beach side, etc etc....will I go back there? Definitely not!! The beach is very nice and good for children 👌just make sure yourself reservation specify with detail yourself room....I ask for ocean view, I didn't get , they wanted to charge $160 extra to give it to me. Nobody was responsible for anything, especially Expedia.

Most of the Staff are so Rude. Room are so unconfortable and bed are so old that make your body hurt all over when get up. I tried cancelling One night and was back and for saying since reservation was made with Expedia they need to cancel. Contacted Expedia few times and Expeedia said they need property approval. From all Resorts I have visited in DR, I want to give this one a trial, and this was the Worst ever ever ever resort I have visited. Dont really recommended. They are very options on Puerto Plata. On top of that, electricity went off few times and it looks they dont have a generator to provide electricity in case there is a black out.

Nice Budget resort. I found out later that the resort is part of part of the senator hotel umbrella and is right next to the playa bachata resort. If I would have known I might alhave stayed there instead. The views are nicer, the property is better maintained there. Nevertheless, I had a good time at playabachata especially for the price, which was about nearly half the price the senator hotel for the days I booked.The service was good, but the activities could be better and scheduling for things like the optional restaurant reservations could be better. There was however a buffet available 3 times a fay with a nice selection of food.

My experience at Playa Bachata was extremely disappointing. The rooms were mediocre, poorly maintained, and there was no Wi-Fi in the rooms—only in the lobby. The daily activities lacked creativity, making the resort feel repetitive and boring.

While some staff members were friendly, others were extremely rude and unprofessional. Service at the restaurants was also very poor. Staff struggled to keep up with basic drink service, and there were multiple times I finished my meal without ever receiving water or beverages.

The food quality was terrible and nearly identical every single day. The biggest issue, however, was cleanliness. I personally saw three cockroaches crawling around the buffet food area and have photo evidence of it. That alone made the experience unacceptable.

The specialty restaurants were also misleading. I made a reservation for the Italian restaurant only to be served essentially the same pasta available at the lunch buffet.

Overall, this resort did not meet even basic expectations for cleanliness, food quality, or customer service. I would strongly recommend avoiding Playa Bachata and choosing another resort for your vacation.

The first room we had smelled moldy and unclean staff at the counter offered to change the room for a better one for exchange of an $80.00 fee. That room was 1105 which had air conditioning problems it took them four days with the promise to send some one to resolve the issue and no one showed up after speaking with a supervisor on the fourth night we were change to another room again Room # 1335 which was in better condition only to be engrossed with a cockroach walking across our table at the buffet I made a formal complaint at the resort and with all do respect we are very disappointed and we want a refund of our stay at this resort

We stayed here during the last week of April 2026 with our two kids, and unfortunately, our experience was terrible. I’ve been to the Dominican Republic several times before, and people are usually kind and friendly, but that was not the case at Playa Bachata Resort.
The staff was consistently rude and lacked basic manners. One morning during breakfast, we said “good morning” to a waitress, and she didn’t even smile or respond. During dinner, we kept saying “thank you” whenever something was brought to our table, and again, not even a single smile or polite response.
When we asked to speak with a manager, it turned out to be the same person who had been taking care of us. We also tried speaking with the hotel management, but nothing improved.
I would not recommend this place at all. Even if a resort isn’t perfect, good customer service can make you want to come back or recommend it to friends. Unfortunately, Playa Bachata Resort was not that kind of place.

The room itself was very basic, but serviceable, and not our primary focus for the week. The layout of the resort is very nice, grounds are well kept, facilities in good condition overall. There's a really nice beach that we used quite a bit, and we spent most of our remaining time at the pool. The food at the steakhouse and Italian restaurants was excellent. The buffet was good, basically local cuisine and not catered to American or European travelers, but we are comfortable with this....all inclusive incentivizes us to try a lot of things without penalty, and we love acquiring new tastes at new places.
We had a lot of fun here, the staff was great and we made some friends (Andres), and this will go on our list of places to return.

There wasn’t much to do in general other than the pool and go to the beach. Unfortunately, it rained a few of the days that we were there so during those times we had to go inside and be bored. There wasn’t a huge variety of foods and restaurants. A couple of restaurants need a reservations, but they were so small that they filled out fast. Also, the toilet paper in the rooms were awful. They were very thin and broke easily.

Sitting in the airport, waiting for my flight to leave Puerto Plata airport. This was a very good trip. The resort has numerous buildings dotted around the property. They all have 8 units each in them. The buildings are all a bit dated but functional. Our room was clean and cleaned every day. The electrical outlets were sparse. And all outlets except the bathroom were only 2 pole. The food was great. 2 ala carte restraints, but you have to make reservations for those. The breakfast lunch and dinner buffets were also very good and varied some every day. A couple of different snack areas also. Drinks are good and unlimited. Beach is great, depending on what time you go, you may have to spend time hunting down chairs. Same with the pool. Excellent entertainment. Nightly shows are very good with very talented performers.

The resort is well staffed, and the people are very kind and helpful. It is kept very clean however, the food choices are poor. The advertise restaurant is not in a building, but alfresco dining, which requires a reservation, which takes hours in a line to wait for. The rooms are uncomfortable. The mattresses are not hygienically covered in a full mattress cover the television has terrible reception. There are no amenities no gym. There is one pool and it is overcrowded the beach, chairs, and pool chairs need repair and replacement. The drinks are delicious and the resort is safe. The beach is not great for swimming. There are many reefs on Rocky ground. The housekeeping service is excellent. They come every day and do a very good job. The gardening grounds are lovely. There is entertainment every night but it’s a little bit corny. I wish they would just have great Spanish music with a wonderful dancing vibe every night instead of lip syncing rock ‘n’ roll shows.

I went because my 91yrs old mom wanted me to take her on her birthday, she loves the pool but was not able to use it because they only have the steel ladders on the sides no descending steps like most pools. I asked if there was another and why but they only have one. She did not enjoy her stay.

Our room was clean but very dated and needed maintenance. A 3 ft long light fixture in the bathroom fell down in our bathroom, 2 feet away from me! After that I was afraid to even use the bathroom. Hot water was non existent, out of 7 days we had lukewarm water only 1 day. Wifi is terrible, dont plan on connecting. Food was ok, not great. We did go to the senator for habachi and that was a fun experience.The beach was excellent, plenty of shade and chairs.Pool chairs were always reserved by 8am. The bar service was excellent, no complaints 👌. Entertainment was decent, after a few drinks it was excellent! The omelet station was very tasty for breakfast.

The room was clean the only issues we had was the tv was super static so you could hardly see and there was lots of hair in the shower, staff were super friendly and you could tell they are very happy and genuine folk, the food was good probably one of the best buffets I’ve been to in a while the meat was a little overcooked though. I’m not picky by any means I’m just giving this review for other people.
