Stayed one night while visiting Mont St Michel. Hotel was very nice, room a good size and very clean. Staff was very congenial and allowed us to check in early. Breakfast in the morning was very good. Hotel is close to visitor center if you area catching a tour to the Mont and right on the road leading to the island if you are planning to walk. Lovely stay.

Great location, very friendly staff, and a delicious breakfast. Our only complaint was the property does not have AC and it was a very warm spell, but they did provide a fan which helped.

The location is splendid, it’s one of several hotels in the small village at the end of the bridge to the island, and there are several good restaurants to choose from.

Great location, clean hotel. Breakfast was good and there were walkable restaurants. The room lacked a curtain for the door to the porch and also lacked a locking screen so the door could be left open. There is no AC which was only a problem mid-day; however, with no screen we didn't want to just leave the door open to let the cool air in. Getting in to park was a bit of a nuisance, our navigation didn't realize the route had been changed.

Room was the absolute worst. Room 211 is about 3/4 of a room where you can’t hardly squeeze between the wall and the bed.
It was not the room I reserved. I should have made a fuss but we arrived late and wanted to get to Mt St michel.

Close to St Michels. Short free shuttle bus away with shuttle running every 10 mins. Would recommend not staying in a hotel on island itself. Would be to hard to carry or wheel luggage from shuttle the final distance and the up step cobble stone road to hotel!

Even though the building seems to be old, the room is clean with updated bathroom. The window doesn’t have screen so when it’s opened at night, bugs can get in. Hotel doesn’t have air conditioning but when we stayed, the weather was cool. The only thing we didn’t like is the floor that has steps at entry of every room. It was inconvenient to hand carry the luggage to our room by stairs as the hotel does not have an elevator. Staffs are nice.

This is a wonderful hotel. It’s basic but this is made up for the fact by the lovel staff .

The continental breakfast is adequate and if we bent our necks we had a wonderful view of the mont.

Le Relais Du Roy is a very nice place to stay when visiting Mont St Michel. Although it is very basic, akin to an older Motel 6 in the US, we found the room to be clean, the receptionists exceptionally friendly, and the breakfast buffet bountiful and delicious. The location can't be beat, as it's only a 30 minute walk to Mont St Michel, or under 10 minutes by free shuttle, which were running until 11 pm in May. There are 3 restaurants in La Caserne for dinner, all within walking distance of the hotel, so it's imperative to make a reservation if you don't want to dine on Mont St Michel. (We chose to dine at Le Pre Sale and the food was delicious.)
I would highly recommend staying at Le Relais du Roy when visiting Mont St Michel.

My kids and I stayed here for 2 nights. The room was spacious and comfortable. It’s close to everything so once you park your car, you can walk or shuttle. The staff were so friendly, and the restaurant on site is amazing.

This is the closest hotel to Mont St Michel, so that you can easily walk to the tidal abbey. The room was clean, the dining and bar area were attractive, the surrounding areas were interesting. You need a pass code to enter the community, so that was exclusive. The hotel is on the older side, but it served our purpose.

Very close to Mont St Michel. Free shuttle takes you right to it and back, and you can get a view of it from the little balcony. Three hotels owned by the same company, and they have 3 restaurants that serve as well. We walked to the one with more Asian food that we wanted, but were refused because it was full after just opening 45 minutes earlier for dinner. That was a bit frustrating, but it is the way France works for meals. ; (

Perfectly adequate chain hotel. Location is amazing. You can look out of your window and see the Mont. Arrival with the parking gate is an absolute disaster. They are meant to email you a code and they didn't. Anyway, that's all in the past now. Breakfast was good. When we went (July 2021) most of the restaurants were closed. We walked over to the Mont for the evening and most places there closed early too (probably a covid thing).

The hotel is perfectly located to gain quick access to the Abbey of Mont Saint Michel. The bus stop to the Abbey is just outside the door. The hotel provides comfortable three star accommodations, although I would rate the restaurant four stars for the excellent food and service. An excellent choice for the price and high level of service.

Very nice hotel extremely convenient to Mont Saint Michel. We could see the mont from our hotel but I went ahead and rode the free shuttle bus out on the causeway to take pictures at sunset. The first tour buses arrived before we woke up but we still missed the real crowds.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is within 30-40 min walking distance to the island (or an easy 5 min ride on the shuttle). As opposed to being on the island, you have amazing long-distance views of mont st michel. Perfect for that early morning or sunset picture!

We also loved the restaurant - completely unexpected, but this a fine dining establishment with excellent value.

Well first off we made the mistake of not checking our emails before driving in to MSM because we were stopped by a gate with no code... turns out it was in an email from the night before we arrived. We pulled our car into the visitor parking where everyone parks outside the town and lugged our stuff down the hill to the hotel about a half mile walk. (Once you park you pay for 24hrs so their was no point for us to move the car closer and pay at the meter and the hotel) front desk lady was nice and helpful. Rooms were a little dated, but it comes with the charm of the area. Great location to watch the sunrise and walking over the MSM. Also trolley stops out front if walking isn’t your thing. Only complaint was no A/C and no screen to leave the window/door open at night, so the room was a little stuffy as we stayed during the summer- it wasn’t overly hot just stuffy and not able to open a window for breeze.

Abusive treatment by receptionist

The receptionist is rude and incompetent. She yells at guests and complains about other staff members. I chose this hotel for the location and don't expect much of the staff. I want to check in and out quickly which is part of the reason I book on line. Instead, I was treated to a screaming fit (perhaps because the hotel is disorganized and has staffing shortages.) Hotel management should put this person on leave....

Doesn't \"have a record\" of hotels.com bookings!

The hotel lost our booking and almost denied us our room. We wasted an hour and a half over two days arguing to \"convince\" them to give us the room we had paid for through hotels.com. One of the ladies was completely overwhelmed but at least tried to help. The other one yelled at us and insulted us. Hotels.com should delist this hotel.

Convenient to Mont Saint Michel

Very nice room recently remodeled. Staff welcoming and kind. Had family room for us with two teenage boys and it worked very well.Very clean. Unusual layout of room, but it’s an older property. Stayed during the heatwave and be aware, there is no air conditioning in this hotel and many others nearby. This made for a hot night but we could open the window and get a little breeze off of the bay. Very convenient to the shuttle to quickly go to mont saint michel -very close Spur of the moment went to the island after dinner and had a gorgeous evening-ethereal -walking on the beach and exploring the ramparts because the sun sets so late. Sunset unbelievable. Can’t beat being so close. Breakfast (continental) available for reasonable fee on site which allowed for early start the next morning to tour the Abbey. Were allowed to keep our car parked in the lot while we explored the abbey for no extra charge even though we had checked out. Very nice and convenient. Be aware of need for code to get into the parking area. We called for it the day before and had no problem getting in. Overall had a wonderful time.

Dated hotel next to the river which also means bugs at night. Since there is no air conditioning, you either had to keep the windows open or suffer the heat. Get used to flys when you eat or when you are walking about.
Room was kept to the minimum and the toilet needs cleaning.

Nice older hotel but well maintained, lack of elevators makes it hard with luggage otherwise close to Mont Saint Michel. It was difficult to get an entry code for the area to park our car without an working French phone as parking is reserved to hotels on the 'strip'. I recommend in asking for an entry code ahead of arrival.

Read about the parking! (I failed too). Thank goodness I had my phone to call the hotel when reaching the area gate. The location was of course good, but I think the condition of the room we had was less than I was expecting, even though I was expecting it to be not great. The room was dated and very worn, but it also just felt very moldy/musty in the room. We were in room up a flight of stairs and on the far south end. The bed was not very comfortable. The staff was nice for check in. We did not eat at the hotel. Also, while the hotel was super close we had to walk to the abbey at 9am because the free shuttle was already full of people since this hotel is the last stop before it.

Nice staff and the location is close to Mont Saint Michel. However, expect that the entire building is old and the same can be expected inside the rooms. Beds were too soft, my butt just sunk into the mattress. Also note that rooms and halls will smell like cows since there are cows and sheep nearby, but this isn’t something the hotel can control.

The location here is key. But we were driving and I was also concerned about parking - only to find that we were told (rudely) to park at the hotel next door. And even there it was limited with few spaces left. You also need a gate access code to access the hotel area in Beauvoir - something entirely unclear and resulting in being yelled at by a young park employee while standing confused at the barrier. If these things had been clearer in advance, it would have been much better overall. [One non-hotel related useful hint for people going to see Mont St. Michel in the evening - it's surrounded by tidal marshlands and bug spray is worthwhile.]
