Excellent hotel with very good rooms, quiet location on the edge of a large park. Plenty of parking and off beaten track so secure in that respect. Nice restaurant with varied menu choices; breakfast excellent. Staff welcoming and very helpful. I would definitely use this again in preference to others closer to or in the town but really need car to access.

I loved the drive up to the building, loads of ground and there's even it's own church. The staff were warm and welcoming when I checked in.
The double room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was spotless.

There room was cold so I had to move to another one. There was a poor odour in the rooms.Breakfast was average and there were not bathrobes or slippers. When asked if I could have a dental kit I was told there is a charge, where as in other hotels this is given complementary.

The hotel was a lovely building with friendly staff and set in a stunning location.

Disliked being given a room overlooking a rubbish dump outside the bedroom window. We complained and moved to a first floor room overlooking fields , sheep and a large pond. Lovely. We had to pay £10/day extra for this.
Photo on web site misleading as entrance to Hotel at rear ( no grand entry drive as the photo suggests) Dining in school hall like dining room. Food good.

A lovely location with wood/lake walks directly adjacent to the hotel. The room was compact, but clean and well equipped with welcome gifts of water and biscuits. Bed good, shower reasonable, but TV a little small for the room size. Food in the evening and at breakfast was very good. All staff were ultra helpful, attentive and polite. Overall recommended.

This hotel is set in this most beautiful setting, close to Stanton Park. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful in themselves, but the backdrop of the Park makes this hotel outstanding in my opinion. The location is why I chose this hotel.

My room was small but adequate, the staff were courteous and helpful; the food was good and the atmosphere generally was very relaxing; will return.

Communication from certain staff members was very unprofessional receiving a lot of sarcasm and a lack of respect as a paying customer after booking for three nights. Took 40 minutes for our meal to come first night, many empty glasses out on the patio from the night before, the smell in our room we moved into the last night was awful, and room was 35 minutes late to be cleaned. Asked for a response to answer the lack of professionalism and after four days yet to receive one from the reception manager who was out right rude. Will not be spending a penny more at this hotel and wouldn’t recommend.

Hotel staff great. Hotel room great.

Breakfast however was buffet style i didnt complain but should have.
0830 ish went to breakfast.
Bacon cooked crispy but luke warm sat on the side.sausages cold beans cold eggs greasy fried and cold mushrooms cold. Hash brown cold fresh toms grilled but cold.

£12.50 if i was in a mellow mood should of asked for money back.

Restaurant meal was poor and a foul smell in the room.
Breakfast was not satisfactory for the cost.
Service was ok but our guests were escorted to ensure a payment, not normal hotel behaviour.
Will never use again for our international guests.

It looked good on the website but disappointing execution at the premises. It’s been designed by someone without any knowledge of how a hotel works. The reception entrance is at the back if the house where you’d expected entrance to be. The bar in the conservatory lacked any atmosphere, all draught beers were off, and the design was flat and uninteresting. However the staff were trying their best and were friendly too. The grounds provided a nice place to walk.

not enough staff let it down. we were there for a reunion and the staff that were their performed very well . Only one staff member was on after 10pm and they had to book people in, take room service and do the bar. We waited along time to served at the bar which was disappointing but not the members fault.

Disappointing.

A few disappointing points. I had to change rooms due to a wasps nest and there being 6 wasps in my room. This was changed instantly. The first room I stayed in had a big chip to the bath enamel and there was rust in it. The decor is tired. The second room looked like it had had a refurb but the attention to detail was not there such as the fact that the drain on the shower is ineffective and the result was the bathroom flooded. The flush handle on the toilet is fitted upside down and you hev to swivel it to flush. There was also no hairdryer in the room. The hotel was lock at 11pm and I was not able to get back in due to there being no bell where the bell should have been. I had to telephone the hotel as there was nobody on reception when I banged on the door. When I was eventually let in there was a fake apology but it is like the lady was not bothered that I had been locked out. Nobody had told me that the door is locked at night and when I asked if that was the case I was told that it was sometimes the case.

This property was absolutely charming. We only stayed one night as it was where we stopped on the way back to the airport. The room had everything we needed: fridge, tea, sleeper sofa. The land behind the property had sheep and was a great walk after dinner. There is even a beautiful church (St. Leonard’s) next door that we walked around.

Such a shame. This used to be a lovely hotel. Property location and surrounding garden and lake are so beautiful. The hotel needs a chunk of money invested into it to do up the interior to match. The entrance has been renovated but looks cheaply done and looks weird that it doesn’t match throughout. Friendly staff.

A very lovely nights sleep. The bed was nice and comfortable. The ensuite also came with a great big bath, which was lovely after a long cold day driving. Ideal as a stop over when traveling far. Toiletries available - but you'll have to bring your own bubble bath.

When we arrived there was nobody at reception and we waited quite some time. I booked the superior double room which had a king size bed but our room was clearly not that, the bed was standard and we complained to reception who offered to show us other rooms but we were tired and didn't want to change again. Bar area was dirty, newly fitted bathroom not properly finished or cleaned and the whole property looked generally tired.

The location is exceptional albeit accessed by a busy roads due to the business parks.
There is no noise from this busy road.
The property has had significant renovations whilst retaining the old areas of the Hotel.
Standard Room is very small so for two people this would be a challenge.

Expected to be staying in a country house style hotel to be met by scaffolding in the 60's style entrance foyer, the stairwell to the room stacked with boxes of ethernet cable, disused fridges, and assorted old furniture. Got a 6:30am alarm call on Saturday morning that should have been for someone else. Very noisy corridor with cleaners trolleys outside the room that had to be moved to get past. Would never stay there again.

Ok stay, we would go again!

Hotel is in a nice position in a country park, we were just stopping on our way back from a holiday to break the journey up but it had nice surroundings. Hotel is undergoing work so the entrance is a building site and the lift was out of action so we had to walk up three flights of stairs with a baby and our luggage which was a bit of a pain. However the lady on reception was friendly and she apologised.
The room was comfortable and large with a seating area, the bathroom was very clean but the room could have had a more thorough hoover and dust. The bed was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. Just as a warning, the walls are thin as we could hear someone going to the toilet, we were lucky though as the people in the adjoining rooms were quiet so it didn't affect our stay.
We were unable to eat at the restaurant as it was fully booked so I would suggest booking a table!
Overall we would stay here again as we slept well and the price wasn't bad, hopefully will get to see the refurbishment.
