The Rocks is a hidden gem, a plethora of flowering and fruiting plants, whimsical touches, a glow worm grotto and very engaging staff.
If anything wasn't in your chalet, there was a common cooking and laundry area. Not only did we use some things, we shared some of our extras. So much better then thowing some things in the rubbish!

Area is interesting, they have their own cave and big garden.
Overall area has a lot of attractions.
The host is nice and friendly. Parking can be tricky, but totally fine.

This place is a hidden gem! Upon arrival we got a personal tour of the property, its facilities and our suite from one of the owners. The suite itself was large with everything imaginable you could want (even. Bluetooth Speaker).

You can tell that the owners thought of every little detail that would make your stay wonderful. The owner saw that we were two woman traveling together and asked if we would want a second bed. We did and within minutes he had another bed set up, even got another side table and lamp. They provided an BBQ for our use and when I asked him if I could get a brush to clean the grill after using it and he promptly told me no need for cleaning a grill when you are on holidays, so he showed me where they kept clean grills you could swap out the dirty one with. Another great thing they had was you could watch Netflix on the TV without having to sign in to your own account which was a first I have ever come across in my travels. The other owner also gave us great recommendations for what to see and do in the area. Both the husband and wife were amazing hosts and I would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful spot if you are visiting the area.

Lovely B&B, the hostess is very nice and welcoming, brought us to the B&B itself, explained everything about the place to us. The B&B itself was a large, well-equipped apartment, clean, with everything you need for a few days' stay. The surrounding yard was wonderful, there is an outdoor bath in the yard. In the summer it is great to take a bath in it. A seating area in the grass above a small stream. Barbecue. We loved the place very much!

This was the most amazing place we've stayed in so far in NZ, and one of my favorites in the world. The place was so very clean, had all the nice touches and everything (and more) that we needed. I was sad we were only staying one night. Leanne, the owner, spent alot of time answering all my questions and gave us the perfect plan for the short amount of time we had there. We would have missed Pu Pu Springs if it wasn't for her!! Not to miss! Very nicely located close to the town center. Lots to do here. The garden outside our room was spectacular, and so very private. The room had so many nice little touches. If we ever come back to NZ, we will plan many more nights at The Rocks Chalet. BEST place we've stayed in NZ so far. Thanks Leanne and Lloyd!

Outstanding! This was our favorite stay and the best value over 24 days on the South Island. The unit is really spacious and thoughtfully well stocked. The attention to detail and the care invested in providing a great experience is evident. The outdoor space and tub are a gem, along with the glow worm dell. The owners are very kind and should give lessons on hospitality. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. Pro tip - booking on their website is cheaper.

A unique property about as close to the Tasman area as you can get. My room was more like a cabin, with its own parking and even an outdoor bathtub and barbeque area. The room was large and comfortable, with a kitchenette and small fridge. There is also a public cooking area and laundry facility.

Also nearby, your own private glowworm cave, although I didn't get a chance to check it out.

The staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel easy to find and check-in was easy. You pretty much have to have a car here but this is true of most of the area.

I had a great stay, even through I was only there a short time.

We had an amazing stay thanks to the incredible owner. They have truly thought of everything to make your stay wonderful. I especially enjoyed the large tub outside with bubble bath and insect repelling candles. Each hut is private due to trees surrounding them. In addition there is a glow worm cave on their property!

Lovely little cabins tucked into unusual looking rocks. Very quiet, peaceful and secluded. We stayed 3 nights and everything was wonderful. LeAnn and her husband were very accessible and quickly handled any need. We loved the outside tub and covered porch. The cabin was spacious and comfortable. Highly recommend when in Takaka!

From arriving to leaving everything was first class.
Host was so knowledgeable and gave us great ideas where to visit.
Cleanest place we have ever stayed. The bed was very comfortable and the chalet was very well equipped.

Nice but a bit gloomy

Very comfortable, tidy and clean. Private and an easy walk into Takaka. Only negative was the poor lighting. Nice that the chalet was set in bush but it also meant that it was dark and gloomy in the cloudy days that we had. And the indoor lights were not sufficient. We had to use our phone torches to read by at night. Otherwise a nice place to stay.
