This was a great place to stay. The room was spacious and was connected to a small dining and living room. René and Marianne were friendly hosts and breakfasts was plentiful, delicious, farm-to-table, and varied daily. One day we had to leave early for a kayak trip in Abel Tasman and they went out of their way to provide easy to take foods at 0600! We didn’t expect that. After a long day, they had homemade cookies for us, too. Fresh fruit and tea and coffee always available. You have to taste the fruit!
We didn’t do our research and didn’t realize the distance and the road from Abel Tasman would be that challenging. So once you are at the B&B enjoy the surrounding area and the amenities provided by the B&B and the hospitality given by René and Marianne. The aviary is a treat to see.
If you are expecting a pristine resort, this isn’t for you. This is a working farm with down-to-earth owners.
Sign to Golden Caves needs to be repainted is my only suggestion.
