The front desk staff were borderline rude.
We booked two rooms at same rate and one was twice the size of the other…
Both rooms had leaking shower pans that caused water to floor. Front desk staff informed but neglected to send anyone to fix it until it happened again the next day.
Rooms blistering hot, but if you open the window you get cigarette smoke from the courtyard in your room all night.

Only good features were the location (amazing) and breakfast (also amazing)

Having booked a room for two adults, it was rather embarrassing as a same sex couple to be asked at check in if we had booked two rooms.

We interacted with staff on 3 occasions, check in, check out and a query re the gym. Each time I was treated as with indifference.

The room was ok, rather on the small side for the price point in Berlin as a superior booking. I did not think the photo in room of a topless woman surrounded by suited men was appropriate.

A Wonderful Berlin Hotel

Can't beat the location; on the Ku'damm and close to the U-bahn, with excellent dining and shopping options all around.

The first word that comes to mind when thinking about Hotel Zoo Berlin is \"swanky.\" The hotel is modern; the rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The hotel entrance and lobby are lovely and welcoming. A perfect place to land after a long day of being out and about in Berlin!

It was a lovely hotel. The area is amazing. Touristy enough but calm. If you want to be where all the tourist attractions are, do not stay here. But if you want to see more German people and still be close to tourist things and be in a nice area, definitely recommend. The room was pretty big with a comfortable bed. The tv was not a smart tv and the Roku didn’t fit so it was annoying at night. The service was not great, asked for a few things multiple times before getting done and the lobby people were not very keen on helping. But it wasn’t bad. Overall a good stay, I would probably stay there again.

i have to complain about a unfair check-in treatment to us. I booked two superior rooms for our two couples. When we arrived around 2 pm for check-in, there were two ladies at the front desk. The taller lady said there is only one room available and we have to come back later to check in for the second room. I agreed to check in the first room. But when we entered the room, we found out the room has two separate twin beds. We called the front desk and asked to change to a queen bed room. The front desk said we can switch to the next door room that has a queen bed, and told us to stay there and they will deliver the room key to us. But a few minutes later, two white male customers came and said they just checked in and got this room. We were confused about that they were behind us in the check-in queue and how come they got the room. We asked the front desk lady and she did not give us any explanation and told us there is no room available. Later another front desk lady somehow found a second room for us. I and my wife still stayed in the two separate twin beds during our entire vacation in Berlin.

My room was smaller than in my previous stays, darker (only one window) and had a bit of an odor. Room 228. I was probably the worst room I had after staying at Hotel Zoo 4 times. Not awful but a lower standard than before.

The only thing i would say is no personal touch at checkout, all they asked was if i had anything from the mini bar, not how was your stay and i stayed for 2 nights!, infact, the girl checking me out was too busy talking to the other two guys (one reception, one who shows you to your room), shame as the hotel itself was lovely.

It's a beautifully decorated building with luxury rooms, a brilliant bar and breakfast, approachable and helpful staff and the best lounge for relaxing in. Also, an ideal base for discovering Berlin away from the usual overly tourist areas.

The hotel is pretty. But on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays there’s a lot of club noises and if you are a light sleeper like I am, it is not ideal. Overall, this hotel is a nice place but the hundred euros a night extra that they charge as a security fee is not ideal in addition to one of the highest taxes I have experience in Europe.

Style may have given way to practicality in some aspect e.g the cups in the room were pretty useless and the power points next to the bed were difficult to access. I would say that whilst we liked the look and feel of the bar the staff were not in the least customer focused. Very disappointing.

We were upgraded to a better room but the room ended up not having any air conditioning and no engineer on duty. Suffered for a night leaving the windows open to cool the room down and my son got bitten by mosquitoes. Not a great start but the staff sorted it out the next day by giving us a further upgrade and the room was fabulous. We enjoyed the rest of the stay very much. Would recommend!

A beautiful hotel in a great area. Being on the West side of the Tiergarten it is off the tourist route but is still right in the heart of things. It is well served for U and S Bahn stations, shops, cafes and bars and you can definitely eat and drink in places along with the locals and be the only tourists there. The hotel itself is really nicely designed. The bar is separately run and is a real hotspot on Saturday nights with a DJ playing. We were lucky and squeezed onto a table in between bookings but I would definitely recommend booking if staying at the weekend, even of you are only looking to have one drink. We didn't use the restaurant at all as had not booked breakfast or meals but there was so much choice both locally and elsewhere that we just didn't need to use it. We did have some room service though and it was tasty and not too expensive. For us, this was a special occasion hotel so we are unlikely to stay here in the future but it is really great, could design and lovely staff so never say never...

Unfriendly staff combined with terrible manager. Room amenities are low quality, They do not supply even cotton pads.they have only maison margiela towels. VIP benefit is only soft drinks. Room were dirty. There were no sign about information related Grace Bar. If someone organize a private event, you should inform your hotel guests! I was too tired and want to dine in Grace ; but there were private event without any infos. There is also no written information; breakfast is 42,5 Euro per person. Stay away this scam.

I’m too sexy for your business.. this should be the title of this hotel. Yes it’s clean but if you want excellent service hmm nope not here. They say the first impression & last impression stick with you & my checkin and checkout fell extra short of anything good. At checkin the bellhop who took my bags stood over the receptionist to know all my private business & how much I was paying. At checkout the same thing happened but this time I asked the man to kindly step away so I could pay my bill with some privacy. Then when the receptionist asked how my long stay was (I stayed at the hotel for almost 3 weeks) I mentioned that it was frustrating that the hotel made it extra hard for guests to spontaneously get a table at the hotel restaurant & that it would be amazing if they could always have one or two tables always available to guests who wanted to be spontaneous about their dinner plans. Well when I mentioned this the other receptionist who had nothing to do with our conversation jumped right in & started shouting at me loudly “well you should have a plan & make a reservation those are the rules & you should be more organized”. I asked her if this was how they treated all their customers or only the ones that are not celebrities or models. She again shouted at me in a very nasty tone to plan more.
On the up side it’s literally right in the middle of everything in the west, so if you like shopping hustle & bustle & daily parties in the lobby it’s a great location. 3 stars.

The location of the hotel is great for exploring Berlin. Right in the heart of the main shopping district.
The rooms are nice, however, beware, at the weekends, the hotel essentially turns into a nightclub.
It seems that the hotel is more preoccupied with the restaurant and bar attracting weekend crowds that the hotel.
Do not have a roll overlooking the internal courtyard, as the noise from the bar penetrates the rooms.
Service at the bar is poor, but front desk staff are friendly.

I really like this hotel, the location is perfect for getting the most out of a Christmas trip to Berlin. The hotel is beautiful on the inside and the rooms are top notch.

It's a shame that there is a heavy security presence inside the hotel near the lifts in the evening, because of a ctivity happening at the hotel bar. It's very disconcerting to try and get to your room and having to go past bouncers to get there.

Also disappointed that no room rates included breakfast, which had been offered in the past. Breakfast was not offered or even mentioned upon check-in so we had breakfast outside the hotel every day.

Loved that they allowed late checkin since we came in super late. Shower was awesome. Bed very nice. Loved the coffee machines. Dining was expensive so we ate other places. It was good though. A Top Berlin Hotel

Posh hotel with great staff and awesome rooms. Def a place for the cool kids to be seen and stay. Front desk staff is on point and very accomidating. Also a great central location, especially if doing busniess. Very close to all the bahns and plenty of bus stops.

Only critique is they are a little too strict with enterance into the bar, especially if you are a guest at the hotel. I was denied enterance because I wasnt dressed nice enough, which would be fine is I had come from outside, but as a paying guest they should have let me in. Also, note that if you have a courtyard facing room, some sound from the bar will leak through the windows.

Oh boy…

Unexperienced, sometimes clumsy/sloppy staff…often with way too much attitude…
The hotel seems to live a schizophrenic life where the hotel part is given considerably less service and attention than the bar/restaurant section which gets rather wild in the evenings and spills out into the ”living-room”…an ill-fitting name for the sorry excuse for a ”lobby”.
We found no place for hotel guests to sit in peace for a while in the public areas.
We perceived the bar security personnel (sometimes three of them) positioned right in front of the elevators to be very pushy…we had to maneuver around them to access the elevator area and sometimes they directed us which elevator to use.
All in all a wannabe 5-star establishment that falls well short of any such ambitions.

It’s an ok hotel if you are paying the discounted rate we paid but if you are to pay full price, it’s not worth it. The rooms are nice enough and the bed is comfortable. The shower is great. However, the receptionist that welcomed us was unfriendly and needlessly argumentative and the rooftop bar is overpriced and a little pretentious and you have to take the lift all the way down to use the bathroom. The restaurant staff were lovely and very helpful however. The first time I stayed there was far better mainly because the welcome we received this time around left bit of a sour taste in my mouth. Won’t be coming back.

Positives - veryvnice lobby and panoramic room had big windows with a nice view. Service was good.

Negatives - room was just Ok, more 3/4 star, definitely not 5 star. Very small bathroom with uncomfortable shower in bath, worn out furnishing and finishes, towel had a big hole in it, coffer maker (nice) but without any creamer. Room was quite stuffy and did not smell/feel fresh. Just a general sense of bad room design/chain hotel. So it’s smallish things but we expected something bit more special given the price and other reviews. We did not look forward to going to our room at end of long day out, which is never a good sign.

Hotel Zoo is a lovely place to stay. It is decorated really well and feels luxurious. There are nice little touches in the room, like free bottled water and zoo themed sweets. The restaurant is really good, although it is expensive, but totally worth it for a treat. You need to book because it is very popular with locals too. The only disappointing part was the bar which is outsourced and extremely busy so it was impossible to go in there after dinner.
