We enjoyed our one night stay. Accommodations and service were awesome. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was incredible. The bed, however was extremely uncomfortable. I wouldn't want to spend two nights in that bed.

Expedia / Hotel error - not good.

On arrival, Parc Hotel told us that Expedia failed to pass on our booking. We were relocated to Metropole nearby. Very unpleasant to arrive at hotel reception and receive blank looks. Staff did their best but Parc was full so we had to go elsewhere. Who's error was it?

Hotel has great location, but is significantly over-priced for quality of establishment. Bedroom furniture is stained, armchairs are threadbare, breakfast buffet does not exist. We were only offered viennoiserie because bread had not arrived - it was 08:45.

Amazing hotel in beautiful quiet place

Amazing hotel in beautiful quiet place with big trees and nice park. We enjoyed this place. Very helpful staff. We have received Geneva card in hotel and used public transport. The stop is located very close to hotel.

Hotel description

The hotel is situated in a beautiful park, and easy to find, however the description of the \"garden view\" for room 107 had was tenuous.
what view we had was the tops of trees, a tennis court and the parking lot at the back of the hotel.
This was the only weak point of an otherwise enjoyable stay.
The hotel I believe should be more descriptive regarding its \"views\"

I have stayed at many hotels , all over the world, and this hotel exceeded expectations. From the grounds, view, to the over the top friendly staff, it was the most comfortable and pleasurable stay that I have experienced anywhere. To end what would have been a perfect stay was the hotels so called breakfast. When's family and I arrived to the dining area it was mostly closed but with a table of assorted breads, cheese, baked beans ? , and cereal. The hostess did offer to make an omelette but all refused except for one of us. There were five of us that only had a couple coupe of croissants, juice and milk. When we checked out of her hotel we were charged 29 euros each for the breakfast they consisted of a croissant and a glass of milk. Never was it pontes out to us that the so called breakfast was so much money.

Lovely old chateau in park with views of the lake and walking distance to town. However the City of Geneva now owns it and the public areas are run down. Our suite was marvelous and didn't match the reception area and restaurant. 5* for room and 3* for the rest of the hotel. It's more of a wedding/conference center with rooms. We could stay there again only because the suite was lovely and the walk into town along the lake was lovely

Calm and quiet!

A lovely looking hotel from the photos when booking. What I didn't know was that the hotel only has 7 rooms! This makes it exceptionally calm and quiet and a very restful place to be. Especially as it has a wonderful garden and lawn and a beautiful view of the lake.

The room was clean but unfortunately someone had eaten half of the chocolate tablet that was in the minibar. The hotel is in the parc by the lake obviously which makes it the perfect place for a quiet night sleep.

Raggedly Hotel In Lovely Setting

The Hotel des Eaux-Vives must have been lovely in its day; however, now the hotel is dated, in that the furnishings have not been updated in a while. The cost of the room is not on pair with the mix-match furniture. The bed was comfortable but the room - far from lavish. As with some of the other reviews, there was no one there to greet us, either at the car park in front or at the front desk. We had to ring for someone and then it took some time for them to respond. The interior of the lobby has not been painted in sometime and there was evidence of mix-match wall repairs behind the front desk. One redeeming factor was the setting in which the hotel was located - in a park. There was little if no noise and that one factor made the stay worthwhile.

Very good hotel

Overall my stay of two nights was very pleasant. The staff if welcoming and helpful; dinner on the terrace with a view of the lake was delightful and delicious and the waitstaff were just attentive enough; the surrounding parks were beautiful. My only hesitation is the breakfast, which could be better. That being said they were happy to accommodate my gluten intolerance and buy gluten free bread. My guess is that a room on the lake side is quieter since there is a sort of road and parking lot at the back. The view from the terrace and the lakeside rooms is wonderful.

The dreadful for this Hotel is SUB ZERO,this is the best brand for refrigerator in North America,but for the Hotel ..........!

Amazing hotel on Geneva Lake

Very small and nice, excellent room quality & equipment.
But you should mind that it is not a big 5*****, it's a very small 5***** - no swimming pools, gym etc.
But for us - we prefer to stay here again, to enjoy the wonderful parc, where the hotel is actually located, silence and nature all around.
And of course Lac Leman (Geneva Lake) is in 3 minutes walk (and some rooms have direct view on the lake).

Surprised with 5 star rating

As this was a 5 star hotel we had certain expectations. When we arrived there was no one on the front desk just a small typed message (only in French) telling us to ring a phone ext if desk was unattended. Once we found someone to check us in we were shown to our room but no offer made to help us with our bags. The room was nicely decorated and clean but very small- when I walked around my side of the bed, I only am 5'4\", I had to duck to avoid a roof beam (all 7 of the hotel rooms are in the roof). When we went to check out the girl on the desk didn't know what to do so had to ring for help. I asked for a receipt for the city tax but she said I didn't need one? Hope I don't get charged twice.

Beautiful kitchen, yet disappointing and expensive food!
Super expensive extra child bed charges and for an awful bed!
We got insulted by a Swiss woman outside, when warming our car!
It was okay, but poor value. We will try somewhere else next year.

Unique and reasonably priced option in Geneva

The hotel is beautifully situated in a historic building and stunning park. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. Being that it is located in the \"garret\" of the chateau, there are sloping ceilings and generally cramped quarters. (The suites seem more spacious but are more than twice the price of a standard room) Also, the beds seem pretty old and tired. While it does not meet expectations for a 5 start hotel, it is a very unique and charming place to stay and excellent value for it's price. I would definitely recommend it to others (as long as you are not claustrophobic).

delightful combination destination

the combination of hotel restauartnt and formal gardens was delightful and adfforded us a number of options.
The food was excellent and not too expensive.the terraces added to the ambience of the stay by allowing us to either enjoy the warm weather,to relax,or to enjoy an aperitif.
As there were only 7 rooms for accomodation the majority of guests were occasional diners.
It appears to be aregualr place for peopel to eat and talk.
our room was very welll equiped but far too noisy.
The 'garden rooms' are not suitable to any degree os peace and quiet and spolied some of our time there.

Seul bémol pour le buffet du petit déjeuner où manquait pain blanc qui après demande fut cuit et apporté à table. Autre manquement, aucune pince à disposition pour se servir des croissants et des pains au chocolat. Fromages et charcuteries dans un frigo avec porte vitrée, un peu démodé à notre époque.

Wir übernachteten am letzten heissen August Weekend. Leider war die AC defekt, was wir aber erst beim Einschlafen bemerkten bei 26°. Es hat uns niemand vorher informiert. So öffneten wir die beiden Dachfenster. Leider spielte aber eine Hochzeitsgesellschaft bis um 00.30 h sehr laute Musik. An Schlaf vorher war nicht zu denken. Wir waren eher enttäuscht. Was wirklich idyllisch ist, der wunderschöne Park und die Lage nähe zum See.
