Hit issues with the queen bed being two uneven twins pushed together on frames too thick to really form a single bed.

Also sink in room had a problem where it was hard to get purely cold water, and the hot was mineral water with a hint of sulfur. Uncomfy to drink.

Its a collection of 3-4 floor buildings clustered together at the corner of 2 streets; along with its restaurant.
In the heart of downtown and very walkable- close to tour bus stop #6 & #11 and Hallgrimskirkja.
I had booked a studio with a kitchenette for a week There is no microwave, toaster or saucepan, which US tourists may expect.
Breakfast is healthy with varied protein options.
Rooms are cleaned daily unless you dont want to.
24 hr front desk and very helpful. Everyone could speak English.
They have a fixed rate taxi service they can arrange for you for airport drop off / pick up.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

The location was the Best! Easy walking to many tourist sites, shopping and food. The staff was friendly and helpful when we needed to store our luggage and they got us a taxi when we needed one. The rooms were very nice and clean and we had a small kitchen (which we didn’t use) but would be great if traveling with small children. Would recommend this Hotel

The breakfast was excellent offering hams, cheeses, cereals, eggs, fruit, yogurts and much more.

All the staff were very helpful and got us a taxi in our last day to take us to our ship.

I would recommend this hotel for its location, very central to everything you might want to visit in Reykjavik.

This hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to restaurants, shopping and entertainments. The breakfast was good, but they didn't offer any hot food. You could make cold cut sandwiches, have pastry, cheese, boiled eggs, etc. We had a one-bedroom suite and there was plenty of room for our one week stay.

Here are the things we didn't like. Our suite had a balcony that was at street level next to a parking lot on the back of the building. We had no privacy and somewhat felt unsafe when the window was open. The only window in the suite was the one by the balcony and we needed to keep the curtains open to get some daylight. We asked for a queen bed, and they moved two single beds next to each other, and the edges of the beds were hard, and we had to stay in the middle. We had two blankets designed for single beds and not one big one for a queen bed. The furniture was old and ran down and the couch did not look clean.

There were virtually no amenities. The shower had shampoo, but it was the same soap used for hand wash in the sink. There were no conditioners or lotions. This was our first time to visit Iceland and perhaps that's the standard in this country.

However, the location and staff made the stay acceptable. Next time I will try to find another hotel on the same street, hoping they have better accommodations.

The hotel was easy to find and they upgraded me to an apartment rather than a single room. The breakfast was lovely and a great advantage for this location because visiting Iceland can be expensive, so having breakfast included was a fabulous perk. I rented a car so I needed to park, but they did not have any availability on site so they gave me good advice for street parking as well as a nearby garage that I could easily pay with an app. It was the perfect place to stay downtown because it was close to everything and very walkable. If I get back to Reykjavik, I would absolutely stay again.

This hotel was in an amazing location. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and the breakfast spread was good, great for fuelling up in the morning with a nice selection of items from pastries to cereal & yogurts.

The room was a bit frustrating as we booked a double bed and ended up with a twin room, and although they were pushed together, the gap between them meant my partner and I couldn’t sleep, cuddle etc. i would’ve preferred just a double bed as anticipated getting on our booking. The room also didn’t have enough outlets, or were in very inconvenient positions, and the safe in the room had no batteries so we couldn’t leave any belongings locked away.

The room also had a bit of a smell, but can only anticipate that it was due to the sulphur caused by the hot water etc.

Overall, great stay. Comfy beds, amazing location, and liked the setup of the place. Would stay here again.

We arrived earlier than check in time and our room was ready which was brilliant. Not only that we got upgraded to an apartment for no extra fee! The apartment had a spacious and clean bathroom with hair and body wash provided. The kitchen had all the utensils you could think of. The room was clean and the beds were ridiculously comfortable.
Breakfast in the morning was our of this world!
Juice, tea and coffee, pastries, cheese & ham with some salad too. Plus a yoghurt and cereal bar with nuts and honey etc. Absolutely brilliant.
The breakfast sitting area was quite small for all the guests (maybe a suggestion for the staff to sit guests at tables instead? It looked like 1 person was taking a table for 4 at times).

All that said, 100% recommend to stay as a stop in Reykjavik. If I could give 10 start I would. Staff were very helpful and welcoming at all times.

Certainly I have stayed in some pretty seedy Hotels around the world during my lifetime. On a scale of 1-10 Hotel Fron rates as a 6 in my opinion.

The Hotel has sadly become a little “Old and Tired” and whilst clean and fairly comfortable, overall the only great thing is it’s convenient location and it’s budget rates.

The continental cold style Breakfast provided by the independent restaurant next door to the hotels guests, was fine enough with cold sliced commercial style meats and cheese slices etc

The coffee however was dispensed from press down vacuum style coffee jugs and I think just a quality instant coffee.

There was a small selection of fresh fruit, muesli a toaster etc.

Again on a scale of 1-10 a 7 at best.

Sadly. the charisma of one of the receptionists was like that of an Icelandic codfish. He clearly did not like interaction with any member of the general public. He is in the wrong job I think.

Returning to the rooms. “Very Basic” and the tiny bathroom only had Body gel dispensers,towels and a hair dryer. Nothing else what so ever.

Our room looked out to a back street. Our room had no net curtains so all of the neighboring properties could see into our room when our curtains were open.

The said was true of our being able to look into some of the neighboring buildings windows too.

Whilst sleeping in our bed, a wooden framed canvas picture crashed down onto our beds headboard and jammed itself between the headboard and the wall.

This hotel is located in the center of all stores and restaurants in Reykjavik. Everything we needed was in walking distance.

Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a hotel, which was amazing! The space was clean and very comfortable. The staff was kind and very welcoming.

I stood for a wknd solo trip at Hotel Fron. The rooms lighting wasnt that great. The bathroom was extremely small with no sink space at all. The staff was very very nice. However, upon leaving, I asked the hotel staff how to go about ordering a cab to the airport; which was ordered for me by the hotel. Upon arrival at the airport, I was charged $160 for a 45 min car ride. Of course I paid it but I felt completely robbed and overcharged.

Loved our stay here! The breakfast was amazing!!! And the location couldn't better!! The room was spacious and had more space than we needed. It was so nice to have a couch to relax in after walking the sitting. Parking is limited, so if you'd like to reserve a spot, reach out ahead of your stay to ensure you have one if you have a car. I loved not having to worry about finding a spot on the street. We were on the 2nd floor overlooking the street and the room was very quiet and the view was fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel!!!

I started out by booking the room for an extra night ahead of our actual scheduled arrival. We were scheduled to land at Reykjavik at 6:00 am of Saturday, so I booked as if we were staying Friday night as well to allow us immediate access to the room. The extra night was confirmed and ready for us when we did get there. We were given a room in a separate building in the back. The room was small, but very clean and nice and warm. This was all we needed, as except for sleeping we were never in the room. There is a complimentary breakfast every morning from 6:30 to 10:00 which is a huge perk as we were leaving very early every morning for our excursions. The hotel is located directly on the main shopping street and is a perfect location for exploring with many of the main attractions within walking distance. If you are booking tours, specify bus stop 6 as it is much closer to Hotel Fron than the tour company default of #14. Overall I highly recommend Hotel Fron and would stay there again if I return to Iceland.

Stayed here for one night in early December. It is an ideal location for a tourist. Right in the heart of Reykjavik. Walk to everything \"touristy.\" They included a breakfast in a nice attached restaurant/bar. Very convenient and good quality. There are multiple buildings comprising this hotel. Ours was attached at the back, so you go outside and walk to a separate entrance nearby. You can access this building without going thru the lobby. The room was nice - we had a one bedroom and an attached living space, a sleeper sofa with a small kitchen. Thats worked well for us. All in all, a lot to like about this property. I'd give it 4.5 stars. The staff and lobby was not as polished as the Hotel Alda, down the street, but on nearly equal footing overall.

The room was clean and good size. It feels like walking into IKEA, basic and austere. It’s interesting that the hot water comes directly from the volcanic hot springs. Therefore the hot water has a strong liver of sulphurs odour. The cold water comes from the mountain and we were able to wash off the odour. The hotel is situated in the middle of downtown across from a bar. So Friday and Saturday nights are a little bit noisy with bar goers and the thumping of the music.

MMy lone concern that led to that rating was the state of the room. I wasn’t 100% confident the room had been changed over. I found a few different long hairs in the bed and a towel in a curious placement in the bathroom. It gave me the creeps and I found a way to sleep without moving. Obviously I should’ve spoken up about it, but I didn’t. It actually took me five days to open my case because I was creeped out in case something got in there.

Wow! What an incredible location around all the shops and Rsinbiw street, the church and the lake where we walked a couple blocks to watch the northern lights reflect on the water! Hotel also has a restaurant along the street with amazing lamb soup, and your breakfast in there is included as well. Wonderful spread for breakfast. They also have parking right there, it’s tricky to find so contact the hotel!

I did not regret choosing Hotel Fron for my stay in Reykjavik. The location of the hotel is great, you can basically walk for the main landmarks. There are two bus stop #6 & #14 that are about 5 minutes walk where you can meet for tour and airport transfer.There are many restaurants , bar to go to. The hotel look pretty cute, nothing fancy but perfect. The staffs at this hotel are nice. I would highly recommended this hotel.
