Again, the common area of the property was very nice for a hostel. But I found the restaurant to be a bit expensive for the hostel.

A youth hostel in a convenient location, walkable distance to supermarket and public transpot. Affordable daily parking make it a good choice for road trip. The room is clean and spacious.
However the kitchen is really basic, only comes with a kettle and 2 microwaves.

Better than many hotels, out of its league for a hostel. Staff does room cleanings every day, fresh sheets and towels, spacious shower and comfy bedding. The room itself was warm and very spacious for two, with a double closet, mirrors, desk and hairdryer. There’s also a menu provided for the pub downstairs that you can order takeaway from, and great breakfast options!
Only thing to note was no shampoo/conditioner is provided

We were quite worried before coming here because of some negative reviews we had read — people mentioned it was dirty or that the staff were unfriendly, and we were also a bit concerned that the place might attract some rough guests.

But maybe we were lucky — during our four-night stay as a family of four, there were many other families staying as well. In the evenings, lots of kids were playing table tennis and board games, creating such a lively and friendly atmosphere.

The rooms are simple, yes, but clean and comfortable. Every night we went downstairs to play games and enjoy delicious food together. The staff at the pub on the ground floor were especially kind and made us feel truly welcome — they really added to our experience.

In most hotels, our family usually ends up staring at our phones or iPads after dinner, but here we spent real quality time together — it was wonderful. Our kids still talk about Via Amsterdam and say they want to go back!

There is one small downside: when lying in bed, you can hear a low humming sound from what seems like the ventilation or boiler system in the hallway. It might bother light sleepers. I used earplugs and slept fine.

Other than that, everything was great. Highly recommended for families who want a fun, social, and friendly place to stay.

Meh. Was happy to move elsewhere.

Wanted to extend my stay for 1 more night. They had plenty of beds / rooms available, but said I had to leave and come back at 3 PM. Not sure if this is just an attempt at generating additional profit from fees, or employee incompetence.
Speaking of employees: employees at this location could use training in better customer service. Definitely have plenty of better experiences with most other places. Happily left and took my business elsewhere, and saved some money, too !

Second time staying here. I would stay here again however I think there needs to be a reminder to some guests about quiet hours. I had to tell people in my dorm to be quiet very late at night and told another to take a phone call outside. I think a reminder on sharing rooms and rules to guests would be great as it did effect my sleep where as before I had lovely guests who were considerate of others in the room. This is nothing to do with the hostel though as it’s such a lovely place to stay! I love everything about it and feels like a home from home when I stay. There’s always people around and the staff are always willing to help. 10/10 place to stay!

Lots of space just to chill out like several lounge areas, cafe & bar area and outdoor seating.
5 minutes to metro and Diemen Zuid train station.
Dorm, clean, spacious and comfortable. Bathroom and toilets were clean everyday.
Bunk has USB port, electrical socket, comfortable duvet and pillows.

Negatives:
Bed has plastic/rubber cover and it get hot and sweaty.
The locker is good sized, but annoying has it requires a padlock with a solid bar to lock properly

Was a nice stay. Beds were fine. Staff friendly. I wish they would clean they bathroom just very basic like mopping the floor a little each day as it was horrible after 8 people (in my room for example) shower and then step on the floor with no drainage system it’s soaking wet then when people walk in there with shoes on because it’s so wet then it gets very dirty. And I had to ask for more toilet paper as it ran out and the toilet stopped working (luckily on my last night) and we were told to either stay in the room and use the communal toilets or can change rooms. Enough space for lots of luggage in the rooms and provide lockers.

When attempting to check in for 1500 which we’d paid for, we were told the room wasn’t quite ready and we would have a short wait. That wait turned into nearly 30 minutes and the staff member who was dealing with us left for the day without telling his colleagues about us. Other staff were helpful as ever and the hostel itself was good, twin room on our own for the price we payed was nice and the lobby was really nice and modern.

The property was cold in the respect it was vinyl flooring everywhere. My room had no coffee or tea making facilities. I asked and paid for a double bedroom. It had two single beds made up a singles pushed together. One of the beds had lots of shortish black hairs all in it, im blonde. The common room was constantly dirty and no teaspoons available. I was informed i could make coffee there but not told i had to purchase the ingredients. The coffee made at the bar was not good and in my personal opinion it was expensive. I paid on an app i had to download for a load of washing. The app topped up my account again, BE AWARE OF THIS. My washing was not clean and to get my credit back it costs me an admin fee.
This place is definitely bettet described as a hostel and NOT A HOTEL.

Very clean room and the staff is really kind. Via is a great hotel for young people and young adult. We slept in the room above the smoking area, It was really noisy… we have heard people late in the night and very early in the morning, they put some music very loud too. At last, the curtains in the room didn’t block out the light well, so we woke up really early — on top of the noise.

I like how close this was to the metro station, it made it easy to commute back and forth to central Amsterdam. I stayed in 3 hostels and this was the cleanest and offered the most amenities. When I come back to Amsterdam, I will most likely book here! Thank you :)

Loved staying here! You get a little plug socket by your bed with usb plugs which is fantastic! The staff were super friendly & the vibe of the whole place is chill. Didn’t realise they had two separate buildings either! Would’ve loved if the bathroom&toilets were cleaned each day as I saw the same marks as when I had arrived. I ended up cleaning it myself as I carried my own cleaning products, but if I hadn’t, this would’ve been nice!
Overall, a great stay, lovely lockers to hold my bags & ones to hold after check out. Loved staying there!

Our family of 6 stayed in a private room with 3 bunkbeds and a bathrooms. It fit our needs great. The shower is very small and tight for an average human. We thought the breakfast buffet was a bit too expensive. We also were surprised they wouldn’t be flexible on letting us check out 1 hour later. They want $30 per half hour. Other than that, they were busy and friendly and people were everywhere.

Absolutely brilliant place! We stayed there as a family of 6 and my kids loved it. Huge room and lovely and clean.
Well located near the metro to get in and out of the centre.
At night we sat and had a drink at the bar and the kids played on the air hockey machine.
All the staff were very helpful and friendly.

A good option to stay if on a budget. The linens were clean and the bed was comfortable. The lobby has a good atmosphere with activities and friendly staff. I opted to buy the buffet breakfast my first morning and was very disappointed at its quality for the price of over 12 euros. I would recommend going to the grocery store nearby to get a superior value for breakfast.

First of all, the name of this property is completely inappropriate. Conventionally logic dictates that \"Hotel\" means you get basic facilities like towels and a cup of tea/coffee. This place is actually a \"Hostel\" and should be named as such - maybe you can call it \"Via Hotel Hostel\" if you insist the word \"Hotel\" is part of our brand name.
Anyways, I was inconvenienced by the fact that no towels were provided and were asked to pay 8Euros to buy fresh towels incase I didnt have one. Luckily I had brought my own towel, but since I had to leave early morning next day, I had to shower in the night and manage the towel drying situation. Also no tea/ coffee in the room meant I stop by at a services and further waste 20 mins of my time. All in all, a bad experience, stay away if you are looking for a hotel. Don't go by the name.

I got switched rooms mid way trough my when I was out in Amsterdam central. They put everything in some bin bags and just passed it back to me when I went to the other room.
It took them around half an hour to switch me to the other room and all they could offer me was a free breakfast on top of that I was leaving the next day and I had to repack everything

All it takes is for one guest to make a false accusation. They can say you are smoking for example if you don’t even smoke and management will kick you out even in thr middle of the night and not refund you. They may also offer to send you to another more expensive room at your own expense. Seems s bit shady. This place may be inexpensive but one never knows if they can stay. Spend the extra and go somewhere else.

This was an ok hostel. The amenities and vibe are pretty cool! The price is great! pretty darn clean. After that it starts to fall apart. The beds are stiff and it was soooo hot (also bit of a heatwave while I was there). The shower temperature fluctuates between cool and hot. The staff was friendly but couldn't help me with a package I had being delivered (asked them to call me and I'll come down to collect but that was too much for them).
I also became ill there. Requested to move my booking to a private room (happy to pay additional) so I don't get my roommates sick or bother them. They wouldn't allow the switch in reservation and it was a terrible night for everyone there.
If you're looking for price and vibe, this is a good place.
If you're looking for quality, try The Student Hotel.

Good, but know before U go.

Via is a good place, good professional staff... just be ready for large student groups. But then again kid happy chaos is way better than drunken football / party hooligans more typical of Amsterdam hostels. The location is pretty remote in the middle of a corporate Park and a long walk to services and rail stops. It's very car centric.
