Couldn't ask for a better location! So easy to get to city center for restaurants, shopping and river access. Parking garage was very convenient. Our room looked right out at the castle, the views, roof top patio did not disappoint. Breakfast as good and the staff were all so friendly and informative.

My room was cozy with an awesome view, and the staff were fantastic. Everybody was so nice and helpful! I had a car carrier that would not fit in the parking garage and they let me take it off and bring it up to their storage room until we left. If they didn’t let me do that I would’ve had a park 1.8 km away. We had a great time at the Christmas market, which is just below perfect location.

The hotel was very nice. A big surprise was the hotel is located by one of the Christmas Markets. The receptionist who checked us in recommended a great restaurant. Parking is in the public garage below the hotel which is super convenient and they give you a card to get a discount! The hotel has either a city view or castle view, we had the city view and could not have been more pleased! Super clean rooms. Breakfast staff always hopping and fixing drinks clearing tables. We bought a ticket and took the tram all the way up and then visited the castle on the way down. Amazing start to our Germany trip! Highly recommend! Tip: parking is on the North side of the building so one street back from the actual street address.

The location of this hotel is perfect. The parking garage fills up completely during the day with people visiting the castle so be prepared to wait for a spot if you arrive in the middle of the day. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and helped with recommendations for things to do and restaurants in the area. Room was very clean and the terrace has a great view of the city and the castle. The breakfast was OK. Great to have a complimentary meal during our trip but I'm not sure why a lot of these reviews are raving about it.

The receptionist at our check in was wonderful! She provided us with a map of Heidelberg and noted attractions for us. She is a great spokesperson for this town. My cappuccino at breakfast was the best I’ve had yet in Germany, and breakfast staff were amazing too. Our room is enormous and like a studio apartment, highly recommend.

Loved the proximity to the castle, shopping, and dining. The staff members were very helpful in recommending how to get to the train station. Our room layout (room #20) was a little strange and could be improved - the television is far from the bed and there is only one chair to sit on for television viewing - I think some re-arranging could make the room layout more functional. The shower drain was slow and the shower temperature would fluctuate greatly when other rooms would use their water. Otherwise, the room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the view out of our window. The breakfasts were delicious. It would be nice to be able to pour our own coffee/tea since it was sometimes difficult to find someone to take our coffee/tea order. Overall, wonderful stay!

My wife and I stayed here for 2 days October 2024. Perfectly located Right in the middle of the old town. Great hotel with decent breakfast, Personnel was very friendly and useful. Parking at the garage was easy and affordable as they offer a great discount for hotel customers. Park in the garage first and then check-in... it will be easier :-)

The property is located on top of a parking garage. Bus stop right outside. We stayed in room 20. Large area for luggage but small bathroom and shower. It is not as updated as some other hotels but was always clean and the staff were very courteous and knowledgeable about things to do in the area. Comfy pillows and blankets. Best of our trip so far. The view alone from the rooftop is worth 10 stars for this place. Sitting on the rooftop eating gelato and macaroons to end the day was amazing. Also, being able to look out and open my window overlooking the cathedral side of town was amazing as well. If I ever make it back to Heidelberg, I can't imagine staying amywhere else. There were some stairs we had to carry baggage up, so be aware, but well worth it!

The hotel is located at a prominent bus stop and requires an elevator ride to the 7th floor. We had the two-bedroom apartment with a HUGE terrace that was beneath the ruins of Heidelberg Castle. Located just a few blocks from the Altstadt pedestrian area, the hotel is a splendid spot for dining and shopping as well as sightseeing.

The hotel is perfectly located right under the castle and conveniently close to everything. It is small like real European places. The staff was helpful and kind and the breakfast buffet was well stock, no one leave hungry.

Booked the 2 bedroom apartment. Was more like 2 separate rooms connected by a hallway. Bathrooms were small. Veranda was actually a common area. Rooms were hot with only a small fan. Based on the photos, I thought I was getting something much nicer. On a good note, the location was tremendous, and the customer service was excellent!

Unforgettable stay at this hotel in Heidelberg. I cannot rave about this place enough! Such a charming, homey room and the breakfast and service was lovely. Every staff member I came into contact with made me feel so welcome and I will always remember them. Room has everything you need and mine had a beautiful view of the city. It’s not fancy but it’s the perfect place if you want to be central to the old town!

Our family had a great stay at the Hotel am Schloss. The 2 queen bedrooms opened onto a private balcony that had an incredible view over all of Heidelberg. It was perfect and we enjoyed wine and cheese on the patio one lovely evening. The room was clean and roomy which was what we were looking for. Although it was dated and needed some maintenance it didn't bother us. The location is perfect for walking everywhere and felt very safe and comfortable.
The only disappointing part was the breakfast. We gave a time for breakfast of 9 am the day before and when we came down at 9 there were no tables available. We were told to come back in 15-30 mins and came back at 9:30 and still had to wait. The breakfast area is too small and cannot accommodate all the guests. I am sure this is hard for a hotel to plan but maybe some warning that sometimes there is a wait and then we probably would have taken an earlier time.
