Resort is a steep 400m up a hill to reception and a further distance uphill to some of the villas. We were lucky to stay in Studio 2. Our room was beautiful and not many steps to the restaurant or pool. Staff were very nice and accommodating and have a free shuttle into and from town. If you don’t have general fitness I recommend you contact the resort when booking accommodation.

Stayed here with my partner for two nights while visiting El Nido. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and very helpful throughout our stay.

The hotel has beautiful views, though it’s located at the top of a very steep hill. A shuttle is provided, which is helpful since taxis and tricycles can’t access the property directly.

Our only issue was the noise at night. Our room was closest to the road, and we could hear tricycles, barking dogs, and vendor carts. Light sleepers may want to bring earplugs.

Overall, a great stay with excellent service and stunning views.

The hotel was amazing. We stayed in Studio 2 and the view was incredible. The room and facilities were brilliant. The staff were really friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to help. The view and location is amazing. The hotel is set on the hillside, but they offer free lifts up and down from the main road which was really helpful.

Beautiful Villas on the hillside of Corong-Corong Beach (a bit of a hike up a steep driveway but nothing one of the tricycles or scooters cant get up). I stayed in Joglo 1 which was a beautifully decorated and themed room overlooking the hills and ocean. Its a large room, well working AC, beautiful balcony and over all an amazing place to stay that I would love to visit again.

The staff were amazing, extremely knowledgeable and helpful and assisted in whatever way they could. A brief but detailed welcome and tour of the room gave me all the information i needed to be comfortable.

Don’t judge a place by its reception area! Karuna ended up being one of our absolute favorite honeymoon stays. We had a slight check-in mix-up (we were given villa J1 instead of the higher J2 we booked via Expedia), but J1 was still beautiful with a gorgeous view.

The room was spacious and well-laid out. Because of the open, tropical bathroom design, you might get visits from harmless little frogs or lizards. We actually befriended a tiny frog on our shower floor! If you’re squeamish, the staff will happily come remove them for you.

The amenities are top-notch. The infinity pool offers spectacular views, and their WhatsApp messaging system made communication seamless.

Don't skip the onsite restaurant—they serve some of the best pizza we've ever had in the Philippines, and room service is free! Just make sure you ask what the wait time will be for room service as sometimes it was 15 minutes and other times it was over 1 hour wait. Breakfast was included and freshly made to order which was amazing every morning.

Location-wise, it's a peaceful retreat outside downtown. They offer a free scheduled shuttle to town, or they’ll drive you to the base of the hill to grab a local trike.

Pro-Tip: For a change of scenery, take the shuttle to the bottom of the hill and walk to Sunset Lion Restaurant for an amazing dinner view.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely return!

Staff and service were amazing. Incredibly responsive. Pool and restaurant were wonderful. We spent much time there. We enjoyed the free shuttle into town. breakfast was delicious and they brought to our room and balcony for no charge. Our villa was amazing however we did have trouble with the air conditioning. The villa is an Indonesian style so we are not clear if the design does not allow for proper cooling (bathroom is outdoors) or if it was a faulty aircon. Staff tried daily to make us more comfortable and brought in several fans. The location is a bit away from el nido town and up a steep hill. This allowed for beautiful stunning views and sunsets but required a ride up and down the hill. This was our favourite hotel and all things in, we would stay here again.

What a wonderful stay we had in the Jaglo 1 Villa. From the check-in to the checkout, everything was absolutely wonderful. The Philippines spirit of hospitality is very apparent and the staff goes out of their way to make their guests very happy.

I would highly recommend staying here for anybody visiting El Nido. Be aware it is on a mountain side so very hilly. If you cannot walk comfortably up hills and down hills, you will struggle to stay at this property.

Everything about our stay was amazing. We stayed in Joglo 2, a beautiful unique villa with a wrap around porch overlooking the ocean. The villas are perched on a hill with spectacular views and gorgeous sunsets. You could also catch the beautiful sunsets from the infinity pool and the restaurant. The restaurant was wonderful with many choices. The staff was very attentive (Wilma and Jade in particular). We also had wonderful massages at the spa. In short we loved it !

The only less nice thing is that the bathroom is outdoors so lots of bugs and reptiles got in the bathroom and sometimes the room (we found a frog inside).

The AC was blasting, when you are butt naked getting a massage you want the room to be a nice temperature. Other than that, a 10 out of 10. We loved the geckos and their sounds!

I can't say anything bad about Karuna El Nido Villas. They cater to relaxation. Beautiful infinity pool, excellent massages, great food, and excellent single loungers and double canopy loungers around the pool. Most importantly was the staff attitude. They were extremely professional and flexible. They were fun, cheery, and naturally interacted with guests gracefully. They were so sweet to say the least. You can't ask for better treatment. I would not hesitate to return in the future.

The view and staff 10/10. Amazing view from room and pool. Unfortunately was my room close to the road below and the noise made it hard to sleep.
I wish that it should be informed when booking the room that it’s close to the road. Their was no possibility to change the room. Staff was excellent, super nice and service minded.

I had pre-booked a hotel pick up and informed my flight details. Unfortunately was my flight delayed.
The hotel didn’t check the arrival and the car waited 1 hour and left. The hotel charged me for the pick up anyway…

We are a family of 4, we stayed at Studio 3 for 3 days. From pickup on day 1 to end of our stay, we were treated so well....the staff were so attentive, courteous, and professional! Big thank you to the restaurant staff led by manager Raymond, the sweet ladies Wilma, Jane, Cyra took care of us to make sure our dining experience was flawless. Food was delicious and very pretty presentation! Ellen at front reception was charming and professional. Thank you also to drivers who made sure we were picked up and dropped off on time at airport.

The resort is exceptional and stunning, the view is breathtaking, the attention to detail in the studio and resort is impeccable to ensure aesthetically has the Bali inspired theme is there and guests are pampered and comfortable. I will recommend to my friends and family and would come back in heartbeat!

Karuna has breathtaking views, simply beautiful. Dining in their restaurant is an experience itself, the food is delicious, the staff is very friendly and attentive, a wonderful reminder of how proud I am to be of Filipino heritage. The service is very professional and prompt. The pathways have an inline since it’s located in the mountain so if you are unable to physically walk up and down it may not be suitable but if you have no physical limitations then look no further, this place will be amazing!

A mountain side resort with stunning views! The location is close to the town center and nearby tourist attractions. The nearest beach (Vanilla Beach) is around 10-15 minutes from the property. We had a great time in Karuna because of the staff and their hospitality.

We woke up on the final day with no water. No one could shower and we had a flight to catch.

Also the walkways are way to steep with no handrails. To get to restaurant you must climb approximately 20 steep steps. Completely unsafe, especially for a senior citizen!

While the property is outside of town, they are beyond accommodating with transportation into and out of town, including the airport pick up. It is up the hill but there are some shops and restaurants that are a short walking distance from the hotel, including a great yoga studio. the rooms and pool have stunning views, breakfast is included and food is pretty good!

Karuna is the most mind blowing place we’ve ever been. The grounds have to be the most beautiful place on the entire island of Palawan, with insane views of the entire Corong Corong area from the comfort of the infinity pool and restaurant. But the otherworldly views are still second to the unbeatable service. Staff are all insanely kind, helpful, with incredible English skills and they don’t let you lift a finger. We stayed in one of the Lumbung rooms and it was clean, stocked with great amenities, perfectly air conditioned, and all with amazing views atop the hill. Van drivers are constantly helping move guests around, restaurant food is actually like 5 star dining (I say that as someone who lives in Southern California and likes to eat at nice restaurants) and the entire stretch of town / beach down below the resort is just steps away. Also - while here we coordinated island hopping tours, massages, nacpan beach private van rides, and more all by simply messaging the front desk or popping in - they coordinated everything for us making it all so easy.

The walk up and down to/from town below is steep but super doable and for the younger fit folks it’s a nice way to get some steps in. I have no doubt the attentive team will accommodate you to the best of their ability with van rides, etc. if needed (we took a ride a few times).

I mean it with all my heart when I say: this place is so incredibly special. Do yourself a favor and experience it for yourself! Mabuhay!

Karuna is exactly as described. They provided transport for our small children & pregnant mother from our apartment to the restaurant because the units are on a cliff. Prepare to do a lot of steps. But it is worth it. The views are spectacular. Staff are very accommodating. Food & drinks are excellent. You will not be disappointed.

Lovely hotel about 8 minutes via tricycle from El Nido town centre. Beautiful view from the restaurant, pool and the balconies from the rooms. The beds are extremely comfortable with really soft linen and our bathroom was huge with a lovely big bath tub and a fabulous balcony (Julong 2).
The hotel is built on a very steep hill, so if you have bad knees or mobility issues this wouldn't be suitable at all.
There are a few restaurants locally that are definitely worth going to, as El Nido town centre itself is very busy.
We took a private boat tour (Tour A) that was organised by the hotel that was fabulous and highly recommended.
The restaurant serves a good selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and happy hour runs from 4pm - 6pm by the pool.
The staff are lovely and the sunloungers are comfortable, although there aren't too many of them.
There is some building work going on at the moment so do enquire about this when booking, as it isn't due to finish until March 2025.
Overall a really lovey boutique hotel.

Our room was nice and cosy, although not very convenient with only 1 storage cabinet for a family of 4. The view is outstanding. The staff was polite and helpful, although with limited resources.
The hotel sits on a cliff side, so it's not very easy to access all the rooms by foot, there is a shuttle service.
Internet is unpredictable, we did not have a decent signal for most of our stay, which includes no TV either, since all the channels are through internet.
The restaurant has good food, but many items on the menu were not available during our stay.
The rooms are not serviced daily, we had to ask for house keeping.
Let's keep in mind that the area is not well developed, so we understand the struggle to keep up with modern tourism expectations. It is overall a good place to stay in the El Nido area, with downsides to consider as well.

We loved the view, the pool, happy hour cocktails and the food by the pool! The hourly drives to and from town, service and the daily cleans were greatly appreciated. The bath, shower and hammock outside with the view was a lovely surprise!!

Yes there is a hill, but for the lower studios (where our apartment was) it wasn’t an issue for us.

Although we loved the restaurant food during the day, breakfast could have been better (pancakes were great if you like them) and it was quite noisy relaxing by the pool due to construction of the new deck by the pool (hopefully it’s over soon!)

The Staff is amazing. The room we had was incredible. The view is the best you will find in El Nido. The restaurant is great also. It’s on the hill side so there are some uphill walking involved but they also offer vans to take you into town at a really great price. And they pick you up whenever you ask just WhatsApp them. Everything about our stay was absolutely exceptional and exceeded our expectations. The staff was amazing and couldn’t have been more helpful. They went above and beyond anything we would have ever imagined to make our stay enjoyable and incredibly memorable. They were very flexible and extremely friendly. They had very great recommendations and were very familiar with the town and the tours. The view was breathtaking, one of a kind. It was incredibly relaxing with the bathtub and rainfall outdoor shower. The resort was very clean and easy to access all of the amenities. The room was absolutely stunning. The resort was built with every detail in mind and was an incredible value. I would recommend this resort to anyone with family or just wanting a romantic getaway. The food was amazing and the pool was picture perfect. They were willing to accommodate our special diet, and their customer service was over the top. Offered a private secluded vacation with the convenience of town and all of the amenities. The value is absolutely amazing, you will never regret staying here. We are already planning our trip for next year.

The A frame loft (lumbung 2) was perfect for the 4 of us. It is one of the newer units.
Wifi, netflix, transportation service, food, in room massage ... just fantastic!

It does require a bit of effort to walk uphill. Good for cardio but may be a negative for some. Also , hand rails could be installed in certain areas to prevent accidental falls.

The villas are wonderful, spacious, and well decorated. The pool and restaurant are great with awesome views. Resort is located at the top of the hills and there's an ongoing road construction, but as long as you coordinate your arrival, they'll pick you up from the main road. Great stay overall.

Karuna has the most majestic views! It is perched on the side of the mountain. We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff are very attentive and helpful. They are very quick to assist with excursions and ride to town. They have an infinity pool that has a great view and a restaurant next to it. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Shower is outdoor overlooking the water. Inactive seniors, disabled and families with small children need caution because of uphill terrain and stairs. We didn’t have any issues as those situations didn’t apply to us. Special thank you to Ellen for all your help coordinating our rides and giving us information about the resort. Thank you Karuna for the wonderful time at your resort!

Karuna Villa made our first visit to El Nido a very pleasant vacation. Staff was super friendly and helpful with all our questions and needs. They were very responsive when requesting transportation to and from downtown El Nido or closer destinations. Our Joglo was roomy and comfortable enough for our family of 5. The view of the bay was amazing especially during sunsets. I would recommend staying in Joglo 2 since it is right in the middle of the main office and restaurant/pool. Karuna was a great place to stay and would recommend it for anyone visiting El Nido.
