Love thos hotel in the quiet town of Debrecen. The staff were helpful. The room we booked was a family suite, very reasonably priced. 2 rooms, a sleeping area, and living room type area. Two balconies as well. Breakfast was buffet. Lots of great options.

Amazing!

We had. Great experience as a family. Beautiful spa with a warm pool (long enough to swim laps), jacuzzi, sauna, etc. Kids area with slide and other games which kept them distracted for a few hours and to top it off, an amazing breakfast! Fresh strawberry smoothies, pancakes and a great continental selection.

The coffee in the room is extra charge, first time I see something like that. Garage parking is extra paid 10€ / night. I found a broken chair in the room. Everything else was fine, clean, quiet, great breakfast.

Great BUT, I'd love to take away half a star because when I checked in my key card did network and I had to go back down to have them reset it, and my room faced the back which was technically almost right above the trash (in NO way there should be trash under any hotel room window of this caliber, so that was very dissapointing

Underwhelming experience due to the lack of hospitality mindset and initiative among the staff. Some staff members have shown very poor attitude and zero pro-activeness. The hotel is trying to do too many things at the same time and the quality is missed all over. One prime example is breakfast with four types of honey but no basic food items 40 min before closing time. They do not deliver a 5 star experience, 3 star at best, 4 stars with the physical facilities. We stayed for 6 days and not one staff member asked how our stay has been.
The location is wonderful with the surrounding parks. Good connections to the rest of the city, and good parking.

The hotel is nice. But the main reason I booked it, because I wanted to use its wellness facilities. But all the wellness facilities, including pools, jacuzzi, sauna, close at 8 pm only on the weekends! During the week they are open till 10 pm. After sightseeing the whole day and I was so much looking forward to the hot pools, but they were closed at 8pm on Saturday.This way the hotel is way overpriced! I strongly suggest to the managements to have the wellness open till 10 pm specially on weekends!!!!

Nice hotel but more 3* than 5*.

This is a good hotel which I thought was more of a 3* hotel than the 5* it claims to be.
My room was good, large and clean with a balcony, however, there was a lack of charging points.
The minibar was well stocked.
The restaurant was nice without being exceptional and I chose to eat out after I’d tried it twice.
It’s situated across from a park with nice walks.
I would recommend this hotel but don’t expect the little touches which would elevate it to a 4* or 5*

Convenient hotel to tram stop and hospital

Hotel Divinus was very close to the tram stop and Debrecen Hospital. The 25 m pool was wonderful and deserted. It's about a 20-30 minute walk to downtown along a beautiful street. I felt very safe in this area.

The property is locating in the heart of the “big forest”. The air quality is excellent. Unfortunately the wellness center closed at 8 o’clock. The pillow quality is pretty poor, from a five-star hotel I would expect feather pillows and blankets.

Had everything I needed

The room was nice and big with a massive bed! Overall the room had everything I needed - the only thing I missed was having a bath tub but that wasn't a deal breaker as the shower was nice and big. The hotel is situated right next to a massive park which was lovely to go for a morning run around and I'd imagine it is lovely to spend time in during the summer months. The zoo and the stadium is close by and the town centre is an easy 25 minute walking away so overal a good location. I was very happy with my stay.

No taxi waiting in airport as arranged. No kettle for coffee in the room. Room cleaned once in 3 days. Coffee ordered in room arrived cold. Few hours over stay on day of departure was 5600 reception wants to charge 12600 & when they discovered I know the price they changed it to 5600& said it was a mistake

Nice hotel, great spa, no wireless internet

Hotel Divinus is a modern hotel north of downtown Debrecen adjacent to a large park. Its location is not central, but the park's vicinity makes it a great spot for relaxation.
Check-in and check-out were easy, and the staff was always courteous and attentive. We had to pay extra for parking in the garage.
The cleanliness and condition of the hotel were good, but we ran into problems regarding services.
First, the wifi signal was basically non-existent in our room. At this age having no internet in the room is simply unacceptable. Second, the hotel chose to put some custom made liquid soap dispenser in the shower, which was not refilled after the first day of stay, so we had to use liquid hand soap in the shower on the second day.
Considering these two very annoying issues, I was contemplating giving only 2 stars for service quality, however I decided to raise that score to 3 stars due to the delightful pools the hotel offers in its wellness center.

The hotel has an overall very nice appearance, the pool and fitness room were great, but the floor in my room was a bit dirty (with cheese doodles from the previous guest under the desk) and the drain the bathroom shower did not work and had to be fixed (which they promptly did after I called).

Very Nice Hotel in Debrecen

This is one of the very nice hotels in Debrecen! It's right across the street from a stop on the local bus line, grocery store and a few restaurants. By bus, it's only about a 10 ride to the downtown area of Debrecen. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of choices and is very good, nice bar, most front desk staff speak english, and there is a very convenient and secure parking garage.

The hotel was fantastic except the bed in the room not proper double bed. Again very hard, flat, low. Could have been better, certainly not what you expect of a 5 * hotel. Rest was great, good breakfast, staff very courteous, helpful.

Nice hotel but some disappointing aspects.

I have stayed at the Divinus two years before and had the same experience. It is a nice hotel but my concerns were with the air conditioning. It was hot the days I stayed and the room was not comfortable even with the window open it was stuffy and could not be comfortable. I informed the front desk about it being so hot and they said they would look into it but they never did because the room was still warm. It is a nice hotel but I think when I come there next I will look at the other hotels in the area.

Positive: front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, breakfast bufe is delicious, location is beautiful and convenient to many sites

Negatives: room had few towels and no tissues. Later we discovered a tiny box of 3 tissues - is this a joke? TV did not work. When we called the front desk, they sent a technician to repair the TV. He spent an hour in our room fixing the TV. He did fix it eventually, but instead of moving us to another room with a functioning TV we were there for an hour staring at the technician and trying to decide how to occupy ourselves. After this fiasco we discovered that our towel warmer did not work, but did not report it as we did not want to spend another hour in the company of a repair man. Closet in the room is missing a key, so we cannot close the door. The door keeps opening and blocking the hallway. Shower did not have any soap in the soap dispenser. There was a number af small annoying problems that just made it hard to justify the five strat rating. You do not expect a five star hotel to let thongs go like this.

Very comfortable hotel next to the Great Forest.

Had a very pleasant stay in the hotel. It's closer to the Great Forest and the University of Debrecen than it is to the Town Center, but it's in a very pleasing location. Plus it is on a tram line that is just a few minutes from the Town Center.

I stayed for 5 nights in November. The hotel was clean and access to the spa and gym was a nice addition. I wouldn't call it a 5* hotel though, certainly not luxury but good quality accomodation nonetheless. As an English speaker I also found it quite difficult to communicate with staff and didn't find the reception staff particularly friendly or helpful. The food was a bit dissapointing too.

Good option for a business trip

Stayed for 2 nights on business in August. The service was good and breakfast is comprehensive. Only down side is that the room seemed a little dark for my taste given all the dark wood furniture. Would recommend for a short stay. It's easy to get the tram from outside the hotel into the centre of town by purchasing tickets from the store opposite.

Breakfast is ordinary continental breakfast, nothing different from any 3 stars hotel in Hungary. Positive: get great help with the parking, nice and clean room and bathroom. Good location. Can't say anything about the spa as I spent only one night in the hotel and was not interested in trying it.

City break - visiting friends in Debrecen

Really nice place to stay. Very close to the Aquaticum Spa resort and about a 20 minute walk into town. There is a tram stop outside though, so we often got the tram home.

Room was clean and nicely decorated. I slept very will in the bed which was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was a nice size too.

Facilities at the hotel were of a high standard and the Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi and Steam Room were also very good.

Breakfast was terrific, and the chef made an omelette for me every morning right in from of me in the dining area/restaurant. A great selection of cereal, hot food (bacon & sausages) and fruit too.

We ate there one night and found the variety of choice on the menu excellent, and the presentation and quality were excellent.

A terrific hotel, though probably not quite luxurious enough for 5 star. It wasn't expensive though and good value for money in m opinion.

Overnight stay in a city not previously visited.

Hotel and facilities what you would expect of a 5 star hotel.
Staff were disappointing, but very much in line with the lack of service spirit in most places in Hungary.
When we arrived there were three staff members at the reception desk, peering at the computer screen and it was at least a minute before our presence was acknowledged and the checking in process started.
All rather similar to our experience in shops in Hungary. Service staff will be chatting and ignoring customers.
