Poor experience during my stay.
1) no free parking provided to hotel guests
2) the hotel is very unconsiderate towards hotel guest’s experience when hosting adhoc events. All parking lots were taken by event guests and we were told by front desk to pay RM30 for VIP parking, or to park alongside main road (when in the first place we already paid for guest parking). Front desk told us the VIP parking/ valet is managed by external partners and they do not communicate.
3) soft furnitures inside our room had smells of vomit and weird stains. Eww
Only good side - there’s some food places opposite the hotel.

Overall Disappointed.

The hotel staff were helpful and the check in was quick. The rooms were comfortable and clean and towels changed daily. Variety of eateries near the hotel which was good. Had to pay minimum amount for parking ,which was not explained properly by the hotel staff that the room card has to be validated daily to enjoy this one time payment. Would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Basic essential like bed mattress is a must

Check in and sadly had a room with broken collapsed bed mattress. Not able to sleep on the first night. As for a room transfer early the next day for a decent bed mattress and was being upgraded to top floor room. Thankfully, was able to make up no sleep.

Club suite says \"shower or bath\" AND \"deep relaxing bath\". Its unclear if this is in the suite (private) or shared. Doesn't matter, they closed the deep relaxing bath \"for covid\"(?) And forgot to remove the description and photo from their listing. Major disappoint.

Room was worn - signs of age or damage, mirrors had blistering, etc. Fridge in first room was stocked better than 2nd (with bath), and no clear idea of what \"free items\" were in the fridge.

Buffet was usual disappoint, but i hate all buffets so it might be good if you like warm, pre-cooked food made in large batches.

Hotel staff was friendly but no speedy checkout and things moved slowly.

Room TV remote was a replacement with buttons that didn't work (i.e. HDMI and they had exposed the hdmi connectors).

I opted for the $10us (50 ringgit) snacks and drinks and it was one brand of beer (carlsberg) and one red and white wine. Snacks weren't much. I'd recommend Grab food and 7-11 instead.

Overall a little disappointing for the price/hotel star rating but there was a narrow bath with lots of hot water, and japanese TV.

The hotel is clean but a little old. Otherwise, it was a pleasant environment. The breads and pastries served at breakfast were not crisply fresh. Local foods were good. The shuttle service to Sunway City should be restored.

Requested for twin room at booking but given king bed. What if we were not a couple?When checking with receptionist she did not seem to understand. No twin room but was offerred an extra bed!!! Arm chair in room had stains. Bedroom slippers too thin & slippery on non carpeted areas of room.

We’ve stAyed in this hotel many times. It’s looking very very tired and no atmosphere now after Covid. Seems like no maintenance has been carried out.
We have move room because the aircond was not working. This an executive club room. The executive club lounge was joke. We got there half an hour after opening time. There were six used tables all wth plates and tissues left an not tidied up. There was no staff attending the guest and the snacks were bad and cold and uninviting pity sorry state of affairs.
In the second room the curtains fell to the floor when we opened it. Two maintenance staff turned up with a ladder, looked disinterested and said there isn’t any spare parts available and suggested we move to yet another room! We said this was unacceptable. The chamber maid who had come to clean the room said those men don’t know what they’re doing. She said it had happen before and started collecting the curtain roller runners all over the floor and fixed it!! So much for maintenance staff eh?

Finally back to KL

The friendliness was wonderful. The hotel in many areas looked good and like before but rooms needed more care after the pandemic. My room had wall paper coming loose and possible moisture impact in the room and bathroom. The impact of the pandemic showed in the hotels we stayed in and some were even closed.

2 Single equals a King

Was shocked to find out that my king size bed which was booked was not available upon checking in as they said that the hotel is full. But they still did go thru the extra mile to try to get me my King size bed. The only thing is that the bed is make up of 2 super single bed. Hence a line in between which can be kind of uncomfortable. Room attend delivering the towel is slow in response.

This policy of servicing the room on alternate days is not good. It is also up to the guest to request the service. On one day we ran out toilet paper in the middle of the night. When the room was serviced no bath towels and face towel were left. Disappointing, and excuse was the pandemic and shortage of staff. More like bad planning and hotel admin.

It is a convenient spot to be. I however learnt to not make bookings through Expedia when one is plagued with travel woes. The hotel despite repeated earlier emails updating our journey, were not willing to accommodate an extra day out of the missed 2 earlier days. The reason its because it is a third party booking. So the lesson is not to use Expedia. The check in service was dull and not inviting. At least, we are grateful that we had a room at midnight. It would have been good if the accommodation was given as we travel across such time difference with children and with so many delays/cancellations. I will not go back to this hotel for it's lack of service and humanity. I had moved to Empire Hotel nearby that is more accommodating and even gave us a discount on our extra days over their discounted amount. We appreciate their humanity and hospitality. Thank you. This hotel and Expedia is a bad option for us this time sadly.

Western style property. Friendly and responsive staff. Unfortunately, the initial room assigned to us was in bad shape. Water damage on the ceiling in the bathroom. Leak. Worn out countertops that badly need replacing. We were promised another room on the same floor. Waited 2 hours plus and had to call front desk again. Assigned a room 2 floors above. No porter to help move. No compensation for our inconvenience. Rather disappointing, considering we had an excellent experience one week prior.

This is a Western-style hotel that is built and maintained to North American standards. The staff were very polite, accommodating and prompt in responding to our needs. We had a flooded shower during our stay, but maintenance and housekeeping personnel fixed it and cleaned up the mess in a jiffy.
We will definitely stay here again.

The service was pleasant but the hotel is really a bit dated. The only worrying thing was they put us together with the other hotel guests on the Cover-19 quarantine floor. We had asked them about it but they denied it although we later confirmed with one of the hotel personnel that it was a Cover-19 Quarantine floor. Although those quarantined were not allowed to leave their rooms during the quarantine period, it was quite worrying and unpleasant to see all the plastic bags of food hanging on those doors and there were chairs placed outside of those rooms with bags of food left on the chairs (presumably for the Covid-19 quarantined occupants to collect into their rooms as they were not allowed to leave their rooms). We did informed the reception but no action was taken to change us to a different floor.

The hotel is not well maintained. Looks old and smells like it too. The room had a small LCD TV which was fine but there was never a clear channel for us to watch. I was looking forward to having my bath time but was utterly disappointed. Water from the main tap was yellow in colour. Looks gross. Thankfully the water from the shower head was clear and so we resulted in a quick shower.

The hotel lobby and rooms are outdated but still nice enough to be enjoyed.

The pillows are horrible as they are very hard and thick.

Hotel lobby looks nothing like the picture. The hotel is dated and although they have refurbished some of the rooms (and charging more for them) overall the hotel is the same. The beds and pillows are fantastic! The bathroom had 1 bath towel for 2 pax. I called for bath mats, extra bath towel, hand towel and face towel and waited for 1 hour before I had to race back to the hospital next door (the only reason I stay at the Dorsett Grand. I didn't return to the hotel until 11pm and couldn't be bothered waiting another hour (or probably more) for towels. Needless to say both of us had to manage our night and morning ablutions with the 1 bath towel! Despite the proximity to the hospital, there are lots of other hotels in the area, yes they will require transport but I will be looking into staying at one of those in future!

This is my second time staying here because I do love the location and facilities. However this time I got the old wing which is slightly run down. But they did clean the room well so I'm ok. If they can perhaps upkeep it a little to keep up with the new wing, that will be better.

Rate quite reasonable and location with botanical environment. Selection of local Malaysia dishes easily available within walking distant opposite the hotel. Easy and fast get grab system. Sunway shopping mall within less than 5 minutes using grab.

Toiletries provided are of poor quality for a 5 Stars hotel. The bath gel and shampoo are of same clear gel soap. The difference is the packaging wordings.

Asked for a room change and the customer service said she'll send someone to my room for the new room key. Waited for half and hour no one came so went down to lobby for the new key and the receptionist doesn't seem to know that I asked for a room change. She gave the room I requested for to someone else. Arranged another room for me but it's not a different level. I had to go back to my old room to collect my luggage and move to the new floor by myself.

Room smelled like moth balls and there was a loud mechanical sound outside my room. AC was also loud (I had to turn it off). Paint peeling in bathroom from tiles that had been painted. Grout in sink peeling. Bed was comfortable and Chinese restaurant was not bad but other than that, nothing to recommend it.

1) The covered carpark is quite far from the hotel itself like 3minutes walk from the hotel itself. In the night, is quite dangerous to walk alone

2) The condition of the room we get is so so. Bathroom door quite hard to close completely. Book 2 room and upon arrival, only 1 room have 1 bath towel, another room have no bath towel at all.

3) I book the deluxe room and i remember i saw the room have bathtub. But upon arrival, the staff told me no more room with bathtub which is quite dissapointing. If the bathtub room is so limited, pls dont put it in the room ad since there are high chance we didnt get 1.

4) The breakfast selection is quite poor. All the juice feels like its from cordial and didnt even have the egg counter.

If i were to book the hotel at full price, i wouldnt choose this hotel.
