Hotel was super old. We had ondol rooms with four mats. There was hair between the mats. Blankets had duvet covers but no sheets for the mats. The hallways were filthy and th balconies were falling apart. Thankfully we were stuck there only one night. I won’t stay here again.

Good sides: it’s right in front of the ski slopes, which is amazing! Lots of eateries nearby, in the Tower Plaza. Discount for rental and ski pass. Staff very helpful, speaks good English!
considerations: Chalet restaurant doesn’t have many options, it’s overpriced. Room temperature very slow adjustable, either too warm or too chilly. Rain shower doesn’t work. Swimming pool closed. WiFi had problems. Shuttle bus doesn’t follow the schedule and leave the guests behind. Very stressful to sort it out.

The room is quite new. Instead of carpeting, there is floor heating in the room, which is great. But there is no coffee (neither instant coffee or capsule coffee machine) and I found two drain flies in the bathroom!!!

Nice room, friendly staff. For the life of me, I never figured out how to work the bedside lamps or keep the bathroom light on. Maybe this is more about me than the room?! This hotel is best for people skiing at the resort. I had a meeting to attend at Alpensia. My options for transit were either a $12 cab ride or a brisk walk (maybe 1.6 km or so). The breakfast buffet is priced as one might expect at a resort, but there were a lot of options and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There is a convenience store off the lobby, which is nice for snacks.

Great for a skiing break

Right next to the slopes with good views over the ski area. An easy drive from Incheon/Seoul. Take the highway SE from the airport, then Highway 50 across the country. Free parking outside. Ski hire and lift tickets available just outside. English speaking staff were very helpful. I’d stay again.

- overpriced for a mere 3* standard of the room.
- terrible \"plastic\" bed sheets that caused static sizzling noises whenever turning around in bed at night...
- Due to floor heating even at night 25°C in the room, which cannot be regulated (\"It is winter - there is no air condition\") other than opening the window....
- the bright flood lights on the slopes are on until mid night, brightly illuminating the rooms, too, so you need to have the curtains shut, despite the beautiful view onto the slopes.
- The atmosphere in the entrance hall is more like on a station

Hotel Staffs, location, and room were excellent since I didn’t rent a car. Ski lifts and rental area were 3 minutes away by 9 years old boy’s walking speed.

Everything was walking distances and hotel staffs were very nice.
Public sauna, gift shop, convenient store, cosmetic gift store, and bakery on lobby level also a plus.

Hotel restaurant Doraji is KOREAN authentic food and Chalets is western food.

Breakfast buffet was good also.

Overall, my son(9) and I enjoyed staying here.

The hotel is pretty big but not much facilities. Most of the facilities like gym, swimming pool, etc wlll need to pay. The ski place is outside the resort so convenient. Advise to gst the gift card for discount at many places. There’s Christmas lighting for picture taking and is very beautiful

Stayed at the Dragon Valley. Lucky to have corner room on top floor with perfect views (2 side windows) overlooking the ski slopes, although it seems view from most of the other rooms are pretty bad. All other friends got bad rooms or apartments far away (5min drive away!)

Literally right next to ski slop so is very convenient and accessible.
Room is spacious and clean.
Good space and they even have a cctv channel to view ski slopes conditions/ crowd etc.
across the hotel (just a min walk) is a nice beef bbq place. Good quality beef.
A number of eateries around the hotel and we took a bus from myeongdong to the resort.
We had snow for 2/3 days we were there

It was a great stay there at the Dragon Valley Hotel.

One thing I did not like about it was the fact that the room was not cleaned up when I got back from my trip to nearby moutain at 2:00 pm.

I asked for cleaning up at 03:30 pm and the room was all cleaned up at 04:30.

it would have been better, if the room had been cleaned up in the morning.

Other than that, everything was perfect.

Beautiful Ski Resort with fantastic facilities!

The front staff was so friendly and helpful to us. We checked in early and yet they upgraded us to a brand new renovated suite ! So wonderful ! the heating was from the floor so it felt very comfortable, the suite is very clean and new ! They are preparing for the 2018 winter olympics. the ski slopes was just outside the hotel, it seemed that this hotel is the closest to the Ski house , where you'll get all your tickets and ski rental equipment. There's also a office for assistance for english speaking guests, who helped us get information. We enjoyed our stay very much ! Will return again !

Had 2 nights stay at the resort. Front desk staff not very friendly. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. No complaint.
There was limited choice for restaurants. Only 1 restaurant was open to guest for dinner on 30 Nov till 2 Dec.

Ski slopes were fantastic . Overall it was a nice resort for winter and ski.

Overall it's a comfortable stay in a resort. There was enough food & convenient stores. There isn't much to do do we went for facial, gondola & snowboarding. Rental of gear for snowboarding was easy. The gondola ride up to sightsee Dragon Peak was beautiful. We wanted to go to the Coffee Street at Anmok Beach (40mins ride) but ended up having to book the whole bus because we were the only ones going...so it was kinda expensive.

My second stay this year. Yongpyong resort is the biggest ski resort in Korea, so it is best for skiiing. Since this time, i went in late Nov, only 5 slopes were open out of about 16 slopes. Last feb, all the slopes are open and i love the long gondola slope.
Food options are good but this time, not all restaurants were opened becoz it is offpeak season. The front desk and concierge were understaffed. But dragon valley hotel is clean and they have upgraded my room again. So, i would come and visit here again.

Excellent location, Paying for what you get

The hotel is located in a prime location of a 5 mins walk to the ticket counter and overseeing the green slope. Room is very clean and hot water is running well. Would consider this as the best location and best facilitated hotel in the area having to stay in a couple of different hotel at the same area before. You get what you pay for, excellent heating and hot water and comfortable bed with slippers provide to you so you won't have to wear the ski shoes up the room. A little pricey as you won't be spending too much time in the room so recommend this hotel if you are travelling with elderly whom don't ski so they can get the luxury of this room.

Very comfortable and convenient hotel. Right at the bottom of the ski slopes. Looks old from the outside but has been renovated inside. Receptionist welconing and spoke english. Plenty of food outlets and shops nearby as well as 2 restaurants and a coffee shop at the hotel. Hotel rooms would be around 25m2 not 59m2 as mentioned on the description.

Dragon valley is directly in front of the ski area. Floors are heated which gives the room a natural warmth unlike usual hotels who uses heaters making the air a bit dry. Several restaurants around the resort, got a bit boring after staying there for 2 days eating breakfast lunch and dinner at the same place. Bed was hard, great for a good night's rest.

The room is large enough for 2 people to stay with snowboarding equipment, can ski-in ski-out, very convenience. It also has lots of restaurants and supermarkets for foods. And there is a very closeby restaurant for eating premium Korean beef. Need to improve the heating system, it's sometime too hot in the room but couldn't turn it off. The other things need to improve is the shower room, installing shower curtain will prevent the water spillover to the floor.

Best location in Yongpyong Ski Resort

This hotel has the most convenient location in Yongpyong ski resort, facing the slopes and the main lifts / gondola. It has been renovated recently. The rooms are averagely sized and look modern. There's a fridge (with complementary water) but no kettle. The only drawback for us was that it was impossible to turn off the AC and this had a negative impact in the sleep quality. We arrived a couple of hours before the check-in time and the staff kindly allowed us to check in early.
We haven't tried breakfast but did have dinner at the hotel's restaurant. The prices are way above average but the quality was good and the portions generous. They offer both International and Korean menu options.
There's a ski locker at the ground floor to leave your gear during the night.
At the time of the check-in the staff give you several discount coupons that you can redeem when buying the lift pass (30%), renting gear / ski wear (30%), using the sauna, etc.
There's a convenience store in the same building, on the ground floor.

Hotel fine, but skiing for rich beginners only

Hotel is fine; but not at rack rate. Not worth more than say 100 USD a night.

Skiing is extortionately expensive, and massively discriminates against foreigners. Pretty much any S Korean credit card gets 40-50% off. There are no multi-day passes, so 5 days = 5 x 1 day price.... outrageous! £42 a day.

It charges like it's a premium alpine resort, but there are not many lifts or slopes at all. At half the price it would be reasonable.

Go here if you are a beginner, can't get to Japan, or have to ski in Korea, and don't mind being overcharged. Otherwise avoid.

Excellent location for skiing at Yongpyong. Breakfast excellent. Room was small and very hot (28 degrees) and we could not adjust thermostat and had hotel staff come in and insist to turn it back on after we turned it off. Was fine with the window open but seemed like a waste of electricity! Staff were friendly and helpful.

Convenient location from slopes

The drop off point of the shuttle bus from Incheon airport is around 10 minutes walk to the hotel (considering you'll be dragging your luggage outdoor and walking around parked cars). Remember to ask hotel reception for discounted vouchers for gondola / lift ride, I think check in staff should volunteerly providing if they see guest have skiing equipment. The safe inside my room wasn't functioning. There's a sauna at ground floor where you can use 50% discount voucher from hotel. Convenient walking distance from the slopes.

Yongpyong Getaway for skiing

The Dragon Valley Hotel is the ideal accommodation to ski in the Yongpyong ski arena. Within two minutes walk you are at ski slope. Yongpyong offers skiing for beginners, intermediate and experts. It's supposed to be the best option for expert skiers in the region. The Hotel has various restaurant options though they are a bit more expensive. There are some cheaper options just a few minutes walk away (incl. shopping options). With the hotel stay you get approx 30% discount on ski gear rental, lift tickets, breakfast, waterpark, sauna etc. The resort is very well connected with direct buses from Incheon Airport as well as Seoul city center (purple bus). Check the resort website for details. Wifi is free of charge and super fast.

Hotel is excellent for what it is intended - close proximity to the slopes. Rooms are small but functional and amenities are few and far between. However, the service was excellent, English levels were basic but enough to get by and the service was generally excellent.

The food was pretty mediocre, especially the breakfast buffet which was poor. The Korean restaurant served good food every time we ate there.

Overall, I thought the hotel was a perfect base for snowboarding with close proximity to all the slopes, restaraunts and rental shops.

The first room I got was very old and paint was peeling all over the place and it wasn't that great. The thermostat was broken so the heat stayed on all night causing it to be 30C in the room even with the window open. The first guy at the front desk I talked to suggested I open the window. The second day they finally upgraded me to a new room. The new room was much nicer but still was slightly out of date.
