Property was amazing. Staff was kind enough to accommodate my request for a private onsen room. Which I should have booked initially but didn't realize was an option. Shuttle bus stop at the front door will take you to various ski resorts in the area. Staff is excellent, helpful, kind. Restaurant is great! Had use of a ski locker as well. Full locker, not just a place to hang skus and poles.

Water noise from the bathroom, unbearable difficulty sleeping. Unable to use the hotel bar or kitchen after 9pm, very strict on the time, at breakfast you were told at 9-50 that you needed to leave at 10, only seemed to apply to non Japanese customers, they stayed for as long as they wanted. Other than that staff were friendly.

I usually love a Marriot however please be aware that if you are going anywhere outside the hotel transport is terrible & the Marriot Courtesy Bus will only take you to two places either the Train Station or the Bus interchange .
What was an excellent stay was a disaster when leaving as we had to walk 700 metres to our departure transport .( Not the Hotels problem)however they could have offered to help .
Apparently this is the hotels policy and I wish this was more clear as I wouldn’t have spent $10k to be treated this poorly when leaving in a massive Snow storm dragging luggage up the road ankle deep .

Very poor experience at the hotel for a ski trip. Hotel has no transfer to the slopes and you are reliant on the infrequent local buses. Staff not particularly helpful with regards to anything (transport, restaurants etcetc). Nearly spoilt our trip to Japan. I wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel for a ski trip (get something closer to the slopes). Very disappointing from a Marriot.

We loved our stay at the Hakuba Marriott! It had a great gym, the in room onsen was perfect after a day on the slopes and the staff were so friendly. It was walkable to the main drag and provides a shuttle to the ski resorts right out front. It was nice to come back and enjoy a drink at the bar after dinner. We cannot wait to stay here again!

This hotel might be great in the winter, but these green months really make you wonder if it deserves the high marks. The hotel restaurant has a limited menu and portions are less than filling. The “apple pie”consists of uncooked sliced apples, a scoop of ice cream and a toffee cracker. The front desk wanted to be helpful but no one could tell me about what was open in town, the hiking trails in the area, or where I could rent a bike. I know it’s summer, but this was an expensive stay at a shell of a hotel.

The bathroom floor has a ceramic peace which is very slippery. I fell down 2 times on my back and I started bleeding. The room was very small. Also they made us pay extra taxes which we didn’t know about. The view of the room was on the trash back yard. Not going there again.

Check in was very slow. So was check out. Room is very clean and they upgraded us to room with hot bath which is much needed. Lots of people in public hot bath after skiing. It’s very expensive we paid 75,000 yen for one night with hot bath. The second night we paid 60,000 yen without hot bath.
The price us without breakfast.

Wonderful convenient property. However must have more washing machine and commercial powerful dryer as this is ski hotel and EVERYONE wants to dry clothes/gloves/scarf/socks overnight ready for more ski in the morning so big fights over 3 dryers every night!

My family of 4 (2ad,2ch) stayed at this hotel mid January for our Ski Trip. The room was spotless and had everything we needed in it. The kids (and adults!) loved the outdoor bath and we did this each night - very relaxing and most nights we seemed to have it to ourselves (the mens anyway). The hotel does a 'free-flow' couple of hours with free drinks and snacks if you don't have your room cleaned that day - we also took advantage of this! We ate twice in the restaurant which was nice, but never had Breakfast (a bit too pricey for me). The hotel is really well located if you drive, and if you don't then its also well positioned on a bunch of different local shuttle routes right to your door! Mastering the shuttle system in Hakuba is a must! Also, if you let the hotel know your arrival from either the Bus or Train station they will pick you up and drop you off in their courtesy shuttle. The staff were friendly and the services was excellent. NOTE that you could not easily walk to the ski jump as there is a river in the way, so shuttles are a must. Very well located for the eating places in Echoland. Vending machines for non-alcoholic AND alcoholic drinks. Ski locker room which left our ski gear warm and dry each morning. We felt this hotel was a great base of operations for Hakuba.

Lovely hotel in Hakuba

Really enjoyed the hotel. Especially the room with your own Onsen tub. That was fantastic every day and morning before going out to the slopes.

The hotel staff all friendly and helpful but truth is this hotel is difficult to get to the Happo One ski lifts. And the staff really not knowledgable in daily ski conditions or transportation options. They print out a report and can pass you a shuttle schedule but that’s not really helpful. If you ski target is Hakuba 47 your good the shuttle is right out the door. If it Happo one we found ourselves walking 25 minutes. It was just easier. So wish the staff had more insights and skills on the skiing conditions, recommendations and transportation system.

The food is ok and expected. Room service menus really limited I think there is a missed opportunity for them to put a chef on this property.

But all in all I loved this hotel and would certainly stay again.

The property has the Onsen options.. privately in the rooms ( we opted for this) as well as a pubic Onsen. Staff however need to be be more informed of the shuttle bus and ski slopes options.
Seems very limited with this knowledge. Shuttle bus runs was also in limited we have had to catch a taxi several times which was about $20 per trip.

Amazing hotel with excellent facilities. Love the onsen and the size of the room. Beds and futons were very comfortable. However, staff needs more training. When I checked in, I was given a key for an occupied room and had to go to front desk to get another room. Didn’t get an apology from the reception but got an apology from a nice staff from HK who also offered us some drinks and snacks. Room service was very quick though. Hopefully with more training, staff can improve otherwise this hotel is more than perfect!

The hotel is nice. It's clean and our room had a private Onsen in the room, which was very nice and relaxing after a day out skiing.
The food and breakfast served are ok.
It feels oberpriced for what you get.
You have to tell the reception every day if you want your room cleaned. Quite annoying considering you pay over 500USD per night.

Great place to stay.

Great location with a stroll to the main street of Echoland with bars, cafes, restaurants, and equipment hire. Shuttle service from the hotel operates from 9am to 5pm, and the ski shuttles stop right outside the hotel. Breakfast is good, but the hotel evening meals are at a restaurant price for a café type of food - just go for a walk down the street instead. Great place to stay though.

Awesome hotel! The staff were amazing and went above and beyond for us. We missed the last ski shuttle one day and they offered to provide us a lift to the mountain free of charge.

It's in a great location in Echoland with lots of restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walk. It has a free shuttle right out the front of the hotel that takes you to/from Happo-One and Hakuba47 mountains.

The breakfast buffet was delicious, and the onsen is an absolute dream after a full day of skiing. Couldn't recommend this place enough!

Tranquil and neat hotel

It is a very nice hotel, located at a very quiet part of Hakuba. Hotel and various skiing resorts provide regular shuttle to train station and ski resorts so it's very convenient for us. Walking distance (< 1km) to restaurants and convenient store.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast spread is good, with good selection of both Western and Japanese. Do check out the onsen eggs, which are essentially the half boiled eggs in Malaysia.
On premise onsens are nice, and good introduction to onsen experience for first timers.
They have daily 3 to 4 hours of free flow of alcohols if you don't need them to make your room, which is a nice incentive and nifty surprise.

All in all, we are very happy with the hotel and our stays with them. Would come back again.

Very clean and comfortable hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, amazing breakfast and awesome chef at Lavarock restaurant, dry room with individual lockers for sky/snow gear. When you don’t need room service for that day, you receive a voucher for a free flow drinks within the hotel. It also has the best Olsen in Hakuba! Will definitely stay again at the same hotel!!!

The rooms were big and has a tatami area that can sleep at least two other people. Love it that they give an option for you to clean your own room with free drinks in the lounge from 3-6pm free flow.
Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a ski room conveniently located to store your equipments.
Love the onsen which has an outdoor bath as well. Super during winter.

4/5 stars for 4 hotel.

The good:
- Outstanding service from staff, quite friendly
- Happy Hour aka \"Happy Free Flow\" 3-6pm daily. Vouchers given for this if you forgo room service for the day (advance notification required).
- Clean rooms
- Variety for buffet breakfast^
- Pick up from train station or bus station (advance notice required and a phone call when you've arrived)
- Separate climate control in individual rooms
- Can purchase lift tickets from reception for highly discounted rate
- Local shuttle from outside hotel
- Modern lobby and restaurant
- Short walk into local area for restaurants (if you don't want to eat there/wait for a taxi/figure out local buses).

The not so good:
- Very firm beds, may suit some. However staff rectified with an additional mattress which was appreciated
- Rooms outdated
- Email communication. Only received replies to a small percentage of emails, and generally not within 24hrs (though within maybe 48hours once).
- Shuttle services for ski-fields often very cramped, 1-2/hour (max) only in morning (to resorts) or back from resorts (afternoon).

The hotel was great. Restaurant was great. My only complaint with the hotel that there is no sign for the hotel in English - only for the bar/restaurant. However, I have a ton of complaints about this reservation with the Hotels.com app. Somebody needs to tell Hotels.com that most car GPS systems in Japan use phone numbers to enter the destination - not names or addresses. The phone number listed with the hotel was not correct and it took us to a location in the middle of Nagano instead of the correct location which is in a ski resort area about 90 minutes from Nagano. But that brings up the question of why this place even showed up in a search for places in Nagano. We had a number of problems with hotel listings for the 10 days we were in Japan. Many more than China, Hong Kong, Macau, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, or any of the other 100+ times I've used the Hotels.com app. Whoever is responsible for Japan should be fired.

Great hotel with a bit strange room style

Location is convenient to most of \"Hakuba\" ski resorts. Nicely renovated lobby and restaurant. Dinner was good with reasonable price. However, I still do not really understand why the hotel keeps its semi-Japanese and semi-Western room style; beds with tatami-mat area. May be just to save the renovation cost ... but it looks very strage.

予約時にはペット可として予約。
エクスペディアから予約も、結局、かなりの割増請求となった。

しかもチェックアウト時
間違った内容の請求を支払いを受けそうになった。他の部屋と間違えらた。

アップグレードをすすめられてかなりの割高。

朝食も夏なのにエアコンがあまり効いていなくて暑い。

この時期、大型バス団体客も受け入れている。

マリオットのクオリティを求めるには、あまりにも費用対効果が低くすぎる。

良かった点→館内はとても清潔でした。至る所にアルコールが置いてあります。ディナーのテーブルにはマスク入れがあり、置くところに困りませんでした。

悪かった点→口コミが良かったので宿泊したのですがコロナということもあり、サービスが雑に見えました。こんな時期に来てくれてありがとうという対応ではありませんでした。
コピーは取れませんでしたが、客室でもマスクをするっていうチェックマークがあり引きました。
こんなんだったら、家でマスクなしで過ごした方がマシ…。

二度目はないですね。
