The woman at check in didn’t look up from what she was doing despite that I was standing three feet away. I had to finally ask her if I was in the right place for check in.

The room was very clean. The twin beds are smaller than a regular twin bed - think more the size of a cot. The bathroom was super clean but super tiny. There was good water pressure in the shower and plenty of hot water.

The tv had only … maybe 4 channels - one being the shopping channel. The remote didn’t work.

The breakfast was mediocre. Luke warm Scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, cold cereals, waffles, beans, toast, some fruit, plain yogurt and watered down juice, tea and coffee.

Internet was soooo slow. You could pay a premium for faster internet.

The noise and vibration from the train!!! Awful! Very bad!

Location is good but overall I would recommend spending a bit more and staying in a better spot. The hotels in the area are in abundance.

Room was a bit on the small side for 3 adults, but was manageable for the 2 nights we stayed.
Note that there is NO lift, so suitcases need to be carried up multiple flights of stairs. Also, you can hear and feel the underground, but it's not too loud or disruptive.
Really good walkable location to Paddington Station, tube station, public bus stops and Hop-On, Hop-Off bus stops.

My biggest issue with this hotel is being 3 stories high and having no lift or bell hop to help with baggage. I don't mind doing stairs on the daily but dragging our bags up there was a bit difficult (the staircases were also narrow). The rooms were small but that is to be expected in London. We had our own shower and toilet which seemed clean enough. The shower was a bit bizarre as it was not tall enough to go over your head, you had to hand hold it to rinse your hair and face. It felt like a camper shower. Not bad just cramped and utilitarian.

We had pretty noisy neighbors on all sides but our kids were rather noisy themselves (just during the day though, they sleep early). BUT you can hear the underground every single 5 minutes rumble underneath. So if you are a light sleeper, I do not recommend this hotel. Even on the 3rd floor, you still heard and felt the trains.

What the hotel lacked in physical property conditions, it made up for in staff. The breakfast staff were so very kind, welcoming, and friendly. They made me and my family feel very welcome.

It is right across the street from a pretty little square park with some statues. It is nice to have a green place to walk and look upon while travelling in the city. Also, it is within walking distance to Hyde Park and Kensington Palace. It was quite an easy walk, too.

I really enjoyed my stay here, overall. Thank you.

Great location, few minutes walk from Paddington station and underground. Loads of places to eat nearby. Fridge in the room was great for food and drink. I was in a single room with a good hairdryer, 7 plug sockets, 2 USBs, decent sized TV. Nighttime lighting in the bathroom. Very comfy bed. Could hear the trains but didn't keep me awake. Continental breakfast with some hot items was a bonus. Staff friendly. Yes it was a bit tired in the communal areas but rooms were very clean and great value. I would stay again

The location is perfect - inbetween Regent's and Hyde Park and a few minutes away from Paddington Basin and station. The hotel is in need of renovation - we were on the 4th floor with steep stairs - breathless when we reached the room!! The room was small but clean and quiet.

Good economy room with three separate beds, good for traveling with teens. The room was in the cellar, had low natural light and smelled damp. There were mold stains in the bathroom. There was the metro traffic under the floor - it went on till late and started early, one could hear the trains and feel the room rattling a bit with each train. That was a bit unpleasant. Breakfast was OK, not too many healthy options though. All in all - when traveling with teens, it's an OK room, not too terrible. Location is good.

Our room was very clean, staff were lovely. Although we didn't use use the games facilities, it was nice to see what was offered. Couldn't fault the breakfast, the scrambled egg was as good as we've had in a very long time.

Due to our train times changing we arrived far earlier than the advertised check-in time, but the reception staff were wonderful and as our room was ready, allowed us to check-in, which meant we could head into London earlier than anticipated.

There was some noise from the Underground, but as we had requested (and were given) a ground floor room and we were only a few minutes from Paddington station it was hardly surprising. It certainly wasn't an issue and if anything, probably rocked us to sleep.

Plenty of power sockets and a USB port, so charging phones was easy.

We would definitely stay here again.

Clean and fairly spacious and cosy room at first glance, but everything (furniture, appliances, bedclothes) was tired and rundown.
Being on the 4th floor it's very quiet, though, with barely a faint rumbling of trains leaving Paddington station. So all in all reasonable value for money.
The steep and narrow stairs would prove a challenge for many, however.

We are nearly 70 years old. This hotel has no elevator and the staircase is narrow. We arrived at the hotel at 8am o'clock in the morning, but the hotel staff gave us the fifth floor, the highest floor, and asked us to carry three large suitcases up to the fifth floor by ourselves. It was so disappointing! We will never book a similar hotel again!

The service here was poor. We were placed on the top floor (five flights up) and were not allowed or offered any assistance with our baggage. The stairways were quite steep and narrow, making the journey up with luggage difficult. Of course, five stories without a lift is common all over Europe, but the incivility of not helping the two elderly travelers in our party was beyond the pale. Additionally, when checking in, the men stationed at the front desk could hardly look at me. I felt as if they considered politeness a waste of their time. It was quite a rude experience. I would not want to stay here again, and would not recommend this establishment to others.

The location is terrific. Within steps of hop-on hop-off Bus services. Restaurants at the end of the block in both directions. Subway is a block and a half walk. The room is about half the size it need be. London fire laws make it inconvenient to move your luggage from place to place,as there are a number of doors that have to be negotiated with luggage.

Not as advertised — hygiene failures and no running water

I booked this hotel last-minute via Hotels.com and felt deceived by the photos. The room I was given was not as advertised: the bed sheets were dirty, there were flies in the room, and the shower room smelled disgusting. Worst of all, there was no running water in the morning — I couldn’t wash my hands or shower. I even tried an external shower and that had no water either.

I paid £171 for a night and left feeling humiliated, unable to get ready for an important business meeting. Basic hygiene and water supply are non-negotiable. I requested a full refund and a goodwill gesture for the disruption.

Until management can guarantee clean rooms and reliable water, I cannot recommend this property. Check recent reviews before booking. This hotel should be on the black list

I had a lovely stay. The staff was very kind, welcoming and patient and answered any questions I had. Norfolk square park across the street is lovely and I never felt unsafe as a woman traveling alone. Hyde park and paddington station were a short walk away. This hotel is in an old Victorian building and with it come quirks like no elevator and non potable bathroom sink water but they had a water station in the lobby that was free to use 24/7 and a vending machine if you like to purchase snacks along with room service through a 3rd party delivery service. I enjoyed my stay immensely!

The hotel itself is interesting - extremely small hallways and stairways, dated and could use some renovations or upgrades. We were on the bottom floor and getting luggage down the stairs was a task. The train station is VERY close so you will hear it constantly as it runs.
The front desk staff when we arrived for check in was not overly friendly or helpful when it came to asking questions about parking and other inquiries but the other staff was more welcoming. Store luggage was free and convenient after checkout while we continued to explore. Very close to the on-off bus stop, lots of food options near by and the train station as mentioned above.
Linens and towels were fresh and clean.
The price matched what we got - overall, not great. Not horrible.

The only upside to this hotel is the location which is near Paddington station. There are no lifts in the property which means you have to carry your luggage up steep, narrow stairs. The hotel is in need of a major refurbishment, the decor is very tired, carpets are worn, paint and wallpaper peeling. We booked for three nights, however after two nights I awoke to bed bugs in my bed. I immediately informed reception and requested a refund for the third night as we could no longer stay at the hotel. I should have checked reviews in more depth before booking, as earlier reviews report bed bugs also. I did get a refund as I had booked through Expedia. Stay clear of this hotel.

Walking distance from Paddington station - tons of food options around. Every different from North American hotels - no elevators or AC - rooms and washroom are small. Rooms are clean and comfortable. I suggest they get better fans. Breakfast was good - includes eggs beans waffles toast cold cut meat cereal and drinks.

This “hotel” is really an overpriced hostel.
Reception: on finding out there was no lift, I asked the man at reception how were we going to carry our suitcases to the fourth floor. He told me I could leave any suitcases we didn’t need at reception. I said I needed all the cases and we needed help to take them upstairs, he shrugged his shoulders and said there was no one.
Manager: I took my concerns to the manager, she asked me to wait. I thought she was going to move us to the ground floor. Instead she came back with a young guy, Farhan, who helped us to carry the luggage. Farhan was the only bright sparkle in this hotel.
The Room: we had to climb a tiny stair of XXX steps to get to the room, once there, I discovered there was no air conditioning, just a sad little fan and a window that could not be opened with a scaffold around it blocking the view. There was some tea available, the cheapest, meanest, most undrinkable sop I ever tried.
I have nothing good to say about this hotel other that it’s in a good location.

It’s a decent budget friendly hotel, breakfast has good selections. Since AC is not standard in Europe, it would be better if hotel can provide a bigger electric fan for a 4 guests room. The electric fan that was provided to us was a small fan that is meant for only one person, and with the warm weather, that small fan won’t be sufficient to cool 4 people.

I was looking for a central location for a long weekend visit and this hotel appealed. Close to Paddington main station, easy access to buses..our room was on the top floor, narrow stairs and very dated decor. The room itself was clean, as was the bathroom..but the shower was so hot it was not usable. Mattresses are not ideal.
It felt more like a hostel but you get what you pay for in London.
It is not disability friendly.

I will say I was surprised at the noise level, we didn't have too much from the trains!

For what we needed it was fine...but could be so much better!!

This was our first stay in London so we did t know what to expect. Hotel was easy to find and in a nice location, lots of dining and shopping conveniences in the area.
The beds were a little firm for our liking, the bathroom was not located in the room, we had to walk oustide oyr room and down the hallway, which was very different for us but we managed.
Our room did not have a fridge until the last night. We came back from our day and noticed one in the hallway sitting area.
Overall our stay was ok.

What a find! Comfortable room. Good AC. Small mini fridge keeps things cool plus many provided items. Bed is clean and perfect for sleeping. The room itself is beautiful with exposed ceilings and tasteful decor. I have zero complaints.

on check in i unpacked my “carry-on” & used my phone re- charing chord & plug. then straight from check-out , check to ship port check in & entry to cabin, without pre opening “carry on”at any time, on actual actual opening on board, plug & chord was not there. being on board i had no means of advising Shakespeare of the missing. days later when communication possible, Shakespeare advised it was not there. i leave it to you to imagine or explain how/when/where it so miraculously disappeared into
god knows where. would this make a “best seller”
detective story?? ha ha .
