We booked because of the description for the indoors Waterpark. Checking in was no problem.... the room we received was not cleaned at all! The beds were a mess and previous users trash and debris was still present. Luckily we only came for the Waterpark fun! We utilized the room bathroom to change, being very cautious not to touch the bedding or any other items in the used room. After leaving the Waterpark fun, we left! I wouldn't have dared stayed overnight!

Bugs ( not bed bugs but still gross) in our bed. Nothing was restocked in the bathroom. Floors felt wet. Beeping noise went off the entire time we were there. Hot tub was not usable. Broken drain covers in the toddler pool making it unsafe. No toilet paper in the second room I rented. Staff didn’t seem to be concerned or believe any of the issues.

Words cannot express how horrible this hotel is. There were cats running around the building and I was on the 2nd floor, and someone bought cat food and left it open in spots around the lobby. Upon check in there was tons of trash in the hallways, you had to step over it to get to your room. Rooms outdated and filled with at least 3inches of dust. Funny thing there was a housekeeper on the floor and when I asked him about getting the trash he said thats not my job someone will be around to get it. I couldnt take it and grabbed a bag and start filling it with trash. I left the trash bag outside my room door as well as others and no one picked up the trash. Since the trash was left in bags one of the other guest walking down the hall kicked over the bags, so the trash was everywhere again, just nasty. They misled guest upon check-in. It was a holiday weekend and most guest came for that reason, but the waterpark was closed.

When I was absolutely flabbergasted buy this the staff acted like I was a moron.
Why would I book 2 rooms anywhere on a deal to pay

Staff was great , room wasn’t dirty had normal hotel wear and tear . Water park probably is more for children 8 and under I took my 13 year old and he got bored pretty quick . Also only one life guard ,slides aren’t watched and for some reason people allow their kids to run freely so if random kids partially drowning in front of you with no parents around isn’t your thing I’d probably not go, and the kids aren’t supposed to be in the hot tub but there you will find an insane amount of children in it. Over all it wasn’t horrible and it’s cheaper than Kalahari but you gotta weight your odds.

Horrible11th birthday party for my daughter. Pool, rooms, resort, and water park dirty. We had to ask for washcloths and towels which none were avaliable in the room opon arrival. No restaurants or snack bars were open at the water park which made it so where we had no access to food or drink while there unless we left the waterpark. Way understaffed. We booked not knowing expedia does not offer water park passes with the rooms until we got there so we had to pay a extra 70 per person for water passes. 70 x 6=420 is alot so we paid almost twice as much from not booking straight with the resort. The only good this was the staff of 2 at the waterpark. We will not be using expedia any time in the future. I feel some type of refund is necessary.

SEVERELY understaffed, the entire place was a mess. Trash cans over flowing everywhere, floors are dirty, and the waterpark is a complete joke. Nobody is watching or policing children so there are all completely wild. Life guards do not care (only 1 on duty in the park). Multiple broken parts of the waterpark & caution cones everywhere. This place has been majorly neglected.

Ladies at the front desk were polite and understanding but the rest of the facility was just gross. We did not even stay the night in our room and left the waterpark as my 2 small children couldn’t even enjoy it with the chaos in there.

The room was very spacious and had everything that we needed except for a microwave. There was one in the lobby. I do wish that you could use a pool and a hot tub if you weren't using the water park. However for a hotel stay and not needing the water park it was a very nice room.

It was very noticeable that they were short staffed. Rooms not vacuumed neither were the hallways and sitting areas. Only one operable elevator on the waterpark side of the resort. Only one place to purchase food and that was the food shack in the waterpark area and they had very limited hours and only one person working and he was not always at the counter or within ear shot. The bathrooms/changing areas in the waterpark were not cleaned.

From the moment I walked in, to the moment I walked out I was on edge. All of the floors were covered in a layer of crumbs and our room was dirty with cups and wrappers under our bed to marks on the cupboard. They have structural damage and have pieces laying all over the ground. If I could have a refund I would take it. Their elevator only having one working was not up to code. The list goes on.

W checked in around 3 with an online booking that implied the waterpark passes were included. Upon check in we were told that it is not in fact included and was an additional fee. This was only the start of our issues. Throughout the few hours we’ve been here we have dealt with: nobody at the front desk or the manager Jared being in the side room or out at a table watching the game on the tv with a sign posted “be back briefly”. This sign was up for at least two hours that I noticed, but was only taken down when the lady for nights came in and took it down.
Aside from this we also have a room that has a broken remote, a dirty bathroom, stuff on the walls of the room, no mattress covers just basic sheets, dirty floors, metal sticking out of the bottom of one of the beds that will cut somebody, a bathroom trashcan that has blood on the bottom of it and didn’t have any bags. Instead of getting a new bag or even getting it wiped out Jared just put trash bags at the bottom and said that was all he could do after putting a bag in it.
The waterpark is disgusting and there should never be only one lifeguard on duty. Parents were life guards for kids who were not theirs, including us having to help another child in the water today because one lifeguard cannot handle the entire area when it’s busy. We had a clogged toilet our entire stay and after asking 3 times for them to bring a plunger they told us to go to the 2nd floor and use the public bathroom. The hallways were filthy. We didn’t have blankets and pillows and we had to go ask for them 4 times before finally receiving them at 11pm.

The room that I got it was not the one that I reserved. Expedia somehow switched it when I paid it got taken out of my bank account and then said there was an error so I had to rebook it and then I was billed twice. Had to wait two hours late for our room the pool in the hotel was disgusting. The water fountain is so black and dirty. He can’t even use it. The coffee was only put out for an hour. Overall stay with four kids who was definitely not enjoyable as planned and probably won’t return or recommend to anybody. I would rather drive an extra 45 minutes and go to Frankenmuth when I said something to one of the employees he was very irate with me and I was simply asking at 3 o’clock if my room was ready.

I stayed for three nights with my 8-year-old Granddaughter and 9-year-old Niece. Check in took almost an hour. A lot of people checking in and understaffed front desk. Our room was clean however the lock plate on the door kept moving so it was difficult to close the door. One of the screws was missing. I reported it but when we left on the 4th day it had not been fixed. Our room cards kept failing. I had to have them replaced 5 times and every time I went to the front desk for new cards, there were several people there for the same thing, so they were obviously having issues with the room cards! The last time I waited almost 3 hours to get new cards so we could go back to the room! We went for the water park but the girls said it was boring so after 2 hours they were done and preferred the pool, however the pool door could not be opened with a room card so you had to wait for someone at the front desk to let you in or someone inside the pool to open the door. There were never any pool towels available and when I asked I was told people took them to their rooms and did not return them. Not sure if this was the norm for this property but it seemed they were very understaffed in all departments. The manager was fairly rude but perhaps it was because he was so busy. The lady at the front desk tried to be accommodating but it just did not seem very well ran overall. There is no breakfast or onsite restaurant serving breakfast, but Bob Evan's is close walking distance.

I have never stayed in such a hot mess. I didnt have any towels or blankets in my room. I tried calling the front desk for an hour and it constantly rang busy. The water park was absolutely disgusting. Trash cans over flowing and not emptied for 2 days. Bags of trash and piles of wet towels lined the halls. I had to scrub down a table just to have lunch with my grandkids. Im honestly not sure how this place is even open.

I had the family room. There were only 2 towels when I arrived. I had to wait 8 hours just for towels. The tub wouldn’t drain correctly it took 24 hours just for them to fix. The sink started leaking. The microwave in the main area was filthy. It was pizza boxes and chips all throughout the common areas. Half of the arcade games wasn’t working at all unplugged. The room was as advertised however the chairs at the table in the room were about 3/4 scale so we’re unusable. None of the door badge readers worked, so doors were all open all the time. Getting access to the indoor pool was at the whim of the desk workers. Oh did you need a towel for the pool or your room? Good luck. Our room for 6 had 2 towels. Pool towels were hard to get outside of the water park.

Speaking of water park, I’ve seen cleaner bathrooms at week long music festivals. They were absolutely DISGUSTING. The actual water park was ok, but the “life guards” were on their phones or bust caping at the top of the waterslides.

As for cleanliness, they own vacuums but the staff clearly wasn’t trained on how to use them. There was trash all the way down our hallway. Adjacent rooms trash sat in the hallway uncollected for days.

The front desk staff tried their hardest to be helpful but they knew that it was a losing battle. At least all the lamps were unplugged, the clock radio didn’t work and dialing “Front desk” didn’t go anywhere so there’s that. Total and abject failure. Oh and did I mention that the single working elevators safety inspection expired more than a year ago?

If you want to have a laughably bad stay at a water park, give this place a try.

I would not recommend this place for more than 1 night. Check in process was weird, they did not ask for my IF or card to put on file? There was only one older lady working the entire afternoon into the evening and only one lady the next day. We asked several times for towels and wash clothes to shower after the water park and never received any, we finally went back to the next and she found 2 towels in the back office- more like a large hand towel. We went back to the water park and took pool towels to shower. The water park bathrooms were very run down and not very clean. The “party” area the next morning that I walked by was a mess, good all over the floor, cups, water bottles etc. I had called and asked if there was coffee in the lobby, the lady said, I’ll make some. They only had powder creamer and after asking for something to stir it with, she said she could not find any utensils even though they had a little breakfast nook with a microwave & utensil holder. The water park and arcade hours are only 10-8pm, nothing posted or explained at check in. You can’t check in until 3pm, so you only get 5 hrs the day you check in to do both and you have to check out by 11am the next day so you only get 1hr. In the water park & arcade. Basically if you stay 2 days & 1 night, you get 6 hrs for both attractions for $340. Not worth it to stay the night in my opinion. It was ok for a little get away but you get what you pay for….. they could do some much better and it could be a nicer

Our second room was much better but we did not have towels, so I had to request them in which they didn’t have washcloths. They only had hand towels for us to bathe with.. no restaurant open, some of the gaming systems were broken and not enough staff

Literally waited 1hr 45mins just to check in. Only to still be charged waterpark passes. No type of compensation or anything. Went into my room to hurry and get changed for the waterpark with my 7 year old daughter and in walks a random woman who was given the same room # as me. Literally walked in while me and my child was undressed!! After being startled I looked around the room there was food left in the refrigerator from a previous guest. Marshmallows on the floor and behind the bed along with plastic cups that were left on the floor. I spoke with the manager and he apologized for a random woman walking in my room and assured me no one else would come in there. We get to the pool after 6pm to finally swim then they turn around and say it closed at 8pm and not 10pm like we were told at the front desk and over the phone prior to our arrival. We were then told the actual hotel pool stays open to 10 so we headed there and it was filled with a bunch of kids coughing uncontrollably because the chlorine was so thick in the air! This completely ruined my spring break experience with daughter and I do not recommend this place to anyone! Oh not to mention you can’t even get a good nights rest with how noisy it is in there. Literally sounds like someone is going to bust through the ceiling and walls!! Absolutely ridiculous

Property overall cleanliness in the hotel/ water park area was very not good, not sure if it was a staffing issue or what. Lots of random trash all over the hallways in all areas that I saw. Most of the showers in the boys locker room were not working. The lockers you had to pay to keep your stuff safe did not appear to be working. There was very few staff to address cleanliness and sanitation concerns in and around the pool area. Broken drains and obvious puke on the floor between the lazy river and other water park area. Broken large water slide. Room was relatively clean but was not given a room with a king bed, which was part of the reservation. Did not try any of the food or drink out of caution for how the other areas of the facility were being handled.

Went to check in only to find one person working and a line of people complaining that rooms were not cleaned before checking in new guests. Was told to come back around 4 when check in was at 3. The waterpark was great! But was told it was only open until 9 and would be closed the next day. We had no remotes for either tv in the room and didn't have control over the air/heat in the room. Only 1 elevator worked. No breakfast options. Nothing was open like the Snack Shop or restaurant in the hotel. Overall disappointment and won't be back.

The staff was incredible and worked so hard. Madison tried so hard to get my room clean on Sunday. And Danny? (The snack shop guy) was incredible. So nice and kind. The kid guards were great! And my kids had a blast. But it was obvious the owners don’t care about them or the place. First deceiving guests about passes and how much they are when you book a room. But instead of fixing it they make these employees do their dirty work. Outlets in the room barely work. There was no “fun” at the water park. No music, the only reason I would comeback

Our experience at Splash Universe was extremely disappointing. The cleanliness alone was unacceptable—dirty bathroom areas, stained bedding, a microwave covered in food residue, and debris throughout the room. The pool area also had visible maintenance issues, including damaged grates, which raised safety concerns.i cleaned my room myself after being moved around several times. I have full video footage of each room I was offered

This was not just one issue—it was a pattern throughout the entire stay. Based on the condition of the room and facility, it does not appear proper cleaning or upkeep is being maintained.

For a family resort, especially one geared toward children, this level of cleanliness and safety is concerning. I would not recommend staying here until significant improvements are made
Hotels.com scammed me into this experience and I'm now seeking legal council. It's sad that I had to stay so I wouldn't lose my hard earned money.

Upon arriving, I waited for an hour to check in, only to discover that the room we had booked was not available. Despite paying for two, we were given a one-bed room. The room was dirty, and the shower was barely functional.
On the website, it had advertised that amenities such as the waterpark would be included in the booking fee. However, after the experience, we were informed that we had to pay an additional $60 per person for access to the waterpark. This was an unexpected and frustrating situation.

Do not go! Room was disgusting. Mold in bathroom, tiles falling off. Food on walls in room. Food under sofa in room. Ice machine and vending machine nasty and falling through the floor (2nd floor) vending machine had expired snacks. Elevator either broken or out of inspection by over a year. checked out wothin 20 minutes of checking in. Full refund issued. They blamed on lack of staffing. Place just needs shut down then. The room definitely needs updating. The bathroom tub was dirty and rusty. No towels wash cloths or tissue in room upon check in. One of the slides was not working. Food was not the best and extremely overpriced. Water park felt overcrowded and half the games in the arcade were either broken or not working at all. The staff was extremely nice and friendly except the young man at the store he wasn't very talkative or helpful definitely got the sense he didn't want to be there. The elevator closest to our room was broken and the one by the waterpark broke down also, using the stairs several times while pregnant was a bit much.

Rooms were not really clean, remote was sticky and didn’t work. The room mirror was dirty, I called housekeeping and front several times from the room phone and no answer, the carpet was dirty and there was Oreos under the box frame

Dirty linens, many things in the hotel and waterpark were broken/unusable, rusted unusable drinking fountains throughout, doors didn’t lock properly, mold. No coffee maker, no glasses/cups, not enough sheets and pillows for all guests in the suite. False advertising - not all waterpark tickets were included like hotels.com said - had to buy extra once checked in.

Our rooms did NOT include waterpark tickets. We had to pay an additional $315 to get access into the waterpark and that was with a small discount they gave us. There was also a small drop of poop from a baby in the waterpark that never got cleaned up.

I had the worst experience I’ve ever had first room was super dirty second room heat didn’t was moved to 3 different room then day two when me and my family wanted to take a shower we had to wait 12 hours for wash rags and towels because the staff didn’t wash them

Hotell was a little dirty. Our room wasn't ready till 7pm. They also ran out of coffee creamer sugar and bottlewater. So had to go to the gas station and i was informed about the human trafficking and immigrants working not getting paid. Its all still under investigation but scary.

Room was dirty with food and candy in the beds witch make me think the bed sheets was never changed. Bubble gum on the floor by the night stand and this stuff was in plain sight. Tv remote didnt work except the channel up botton. The microwave didnt work. The room phone was missing all the info to call the front desk. The corner trim was pealing off the walls. Kids running upstairs on the 2nd floor till 1am in the morning tryed calling the front desk with my cell phone just kept ringing busy. The elevator stop working on sat. The game room was okish must of the claw machines didnt have prizes in them. The water park was over packed with people for the size of the water park, you could tell the yellow tube slide has been closed for along time and they told us on the phone everything was up and working so we was lied to on the phone by the front office workers. For spending close to 700$ for 2 nights and driving over 2hrs to get there we was very disappointed on what we got.. there should be a refound given but we was only told sorry that was it

There are some things that need to be qorked on such as the staff would benefit feom a team couching on how to best support the guest. (Being consistent, not one staff do it all or leave it on the owner to fix issues.) The owner was pleasant. The facility still needs some up grades but the owner is aware and is working on things.

All employees were so wonderful and accommodating, waterpark was a fun time for all involved, would book with this property again and again just on customer service alone! Was looking forward to breakfast that wasn’t included, so just prepare ahead. Expedia however didn’t have current operations hours posted on their site and took away half of our promised experience. Thank you to the staff at Splash Universe for a great time!

Nothing was fixed or upgraded since my last visit in July. No elevator. No onsite food. So.me employees look concerning to say the least. Jarrett was my favorite the last visit but this time he seemed stressed and overworked. He yelling at other workers, snapping at guest. No sure if i will return. But Wendy was a Joy. She was helpful and kind.

Definitely seemed understaffed, room was cleaned a little but still old empty water bottle and dirt and dust all over the floor in the bathroom area. One of the slides was down in the waterpark area and waterpark passes could not be added for a sur charge, they had me buy them the next day entirely separate. Overall spent way to much money on a trip that was not up to par at all.. the room type we reserved and said was available was not available when I went to check in even though I purchased the room same day of check in and the night staff lacked a lot of hotel knowledge.

Everything was a nightmare from the get go. Check in took almost an hour. No towels in the room or available at all. No sheets or blankets on one of the beds. Did not say when we purchased the hotel room that we needed to purchase wrist bands for the water resort. $60 per person extra on top of the $300 we paid for the room. Unacceptable. Expedia was terrible for not making it known you needed to spend extra for wrist bands at a WATER RESORT. That cost an additional $420 for our family. Dirty pillow cases, no breakfast, their pizza was $25 for a whole one and it’s a thin small frozen pizza. We definitely went and got food else where and brought it back. There were open beer cans just sitting around in the water park for any child to grab. The lifeguards do not pay attention and spent most of their time on their phones. Broken water slides. Very over crowded. Definitely was not worth the $800 we ended up having to spend on ONE night!!! Outrageous. Should have booked at great wolf lodge. We will never stay here again and we will never book with Expedia again.

The waterpark was only half functioning. Was told short staffed. Big slides were not open. You can't bring outside food or drinks in the waterpark, but the food and beverage area in the waterpark was closed as well due to staffing. Paid $120 for tickets.
In the morning the only thing they put out was coffe. When asked for cream they said they could not put anyout till the manager got there. The room itself was ok. But the ammendities were available.

This hotel needs to be renovated. The rooms look like they have black mold. The room didn't have towels and did not look clean. When I went to get some, they only had 2 washcloths available and said I could come back later to get more if I needed them. I went back a couple of hours later and they were folding towels on a table in the lobby. They had just come out of the dryer. Several guests were coming down to grab their towels off the table. The staff didn't have uniforms on so you couldn't tell who worked there.

The splash park was wonderful. My granddaughter loved it. It wasn't too big or small. The kids had a lot to do, and the adults could float on the lazy river or go to the hot tub area that was for 18 and up.

There was a bell to ring for service in the snack bar but the pool area was too loud for anyone to hear it. The attendant was working as a lifeguard and at the snack bar. Depending on what he was doing, you had to wait. My granddaughter asked for a life vest. I asked one of the lifeguards and he said no we don't have any left. I asked the attendant that was working in the snack bar and lifeguard and he went and found me one. He was very nice, I wish I would have gotten his name so I could thank him for his service.
