The rooms are clean but are so noisy. When the northern lights tours come back at 2am you will be woken up, the hallways are noisy and the doors/walls have no noise blocking properties. FYI, if you stay in summer during midnight sun note the blinds are not blackout. The usb charger at the bed was broken with no where to plug my phone in except across the room. Hotel is already showing it's age. There are also multiple homeless people asking for money out front which isn't bad except one was very aggressive and followed me into the hotel, no security was present.

Overall the hotel is good, rooms is so spacious and clean, staffs are helpful. Food in the restaurant is surprisingly good and prices are reasonable. The only downside is we stay in the new building and there is no front desk and staff there, restaurant, gym and the front desk are located in the main building, it’s so inconvenient for us to call a shuttle there every time, sometimes the phone is busy and we can’t reach anyone, it makes us very difficult to meet the tour guide there, also the winter gear is so heavy, we can’t carry all those things to walk all the way during-36c at night time, other than that, everything is good

I’ve loved this hotel because they were incredibly helpful. My bag was lost and they didn’t care what time day or night I checked to see if it had been delivered and it was there. They would call a cab immediately and it would be there within two minutes when we needed one. Using the steam room and sauna after being out in the cold was wonderful. The bed was comfortable and we both slept well. The room was large, spacious and also had a desk where we could work. I would stay there again.

Stayed in the apartment style rooms that are across the parking lot from the hotel. This was an upgrade given to us when we checked in. Kind of a pain to go back and forth between the two buildings when it is so cold outside. Breakfast buffet was very good. Giving 3 stars because the heat was blasting in our room when we checked in, had to be at least 35 C in the room. Made for a very uncomfortable first night.

Nice property but we were surprised to find out that our suite was in a seperate building that in the cold, you would need to take a shuttle over to. Using the sauna or steam room in this situation was not ideal. Suites were big and well-equipped.

The hotel is close to the airport and the airport shuttle is convenient. During the winter months, they provide a shuttle to the new building from the lobby and vice versa. The room we were in got a broken window that doesn't close all the way, so there was tape over it. Thankfully, the heater was warm enough to keep us from getting chilly. It is walk-able distance to a grocery store and a pharmacy.

They’ve put us in a different building, we booked it specifically for sauna and couldnt use it… the room was full of cigarettes smell, housekeeping left the balcony door open in minus 30 and it took 24 hrs for the room to warm up, we slept in cold and in smoke… terrible

Very late house cleaning.
We were not told at booking that we were not in the hotel but a separate building that required walking in -40 degrees or waiting for a shuttle. Also meant no easy access to restaurant and lounge. Different breakfast menu than what is on the website.
Well situation to airport, downtown, Snow King Castle etc.
Was given different answers by different people to the same questions.
2 bedroom unit was very spacious and well laid out.

We could watch the aurora from the balcony of our two-bedroom apartment without leaving the hotel, and the washing and drying machines were easy to operate. The staff were very helpful in answering questions and arranging transportation.

What stood out was how Chateau Nova stood behind us as the guests, when Expedia and Agoda did everything they could to sabotage our stay. They made it seem like the hotel cancelled our reservation, while the hotel went to bat for us when Agoda/Expedia did all the damage. The hotel kept us in a room that Agoda underhandedly cancelled. Now for Chateau, we had a great breakfast and a dinner at reasonable prices, courteous staff on all occasions, and a clean room with all the necessary amenities. If someone was coming to see the aurora, I would suggest booking straight with the hotel! And enjoy the experience with Chateau Nova!

Arrived late, got our key cards and a shuttle ride to the building we were staying in. Got to our room and no wifi password anywhere. Went back to main building and talked with the desk clerk. Why? The room phone did not work and I did not have cell signal. He told me I did not need a password, just select “Nova Hotels” from the wifi list. He showed it to me. I make my way back to the room only to learn Nova Hotels wifi is not available in that building. Back to the front desk. Then I was told to scan the QR code to access wifi password. Well without wifi or cell signal that is not possible. Back to the room I go to get some sleep. My wife and I cuddled tightly trying to sleep but the room was so cold. The thermostat was maxed but it was not adequately heating the room.

The next day I relayed all of this to the GM. He sent maintenance who fixed the heat issues and I finally got the password so we could let people know we made it.

Room staff were wonderful. Restaurant quality was sad. Cold and dry omelet, buffet was looking pretty dry so I ordered fresh. Didn't help, couldn't finish it

I would seriously consider other options before booking here.

The room was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. I had a 2 bedroom apartment in their new building and it was great. It was across the property and not connected to the restaurant and other amenities which was a little inconvenient but we cooked most of our meals so it wasn’t a big deal. They did have a shuttle that would take take guests between the two buildings if you asked them. For the other times “bundle up!” walking across the property at -35 degrees was quite an experience for me. The only thing I think they could improve is to have someone answer the desk phone more. I must have called the front desk 9 times at all times of the day and no one ever answered. It’s possible that they could have been really busy but unlikely that no one was available every time.

The hotel is in a great location, within easy walking distance of downtown and the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre.
The room is spacious and comfortable. The hotel offers convenient dining options, either at the restaurant near the lobby or by cooking in the room. The room is well equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, kettle, toaster, as well as dining ware and utensils.
The staff were friendly and courteous.

We booked 2x two-bedroom apartment suite for Jan 8–11 and paid both in advance. One suite is for my family and the other one is for my friend's family. But at check-in we were told the suite for my friend's family was no longer available, with no explanation and no apology. My friend was asked to take a smaller room which cost less than what we paid for and zero compensation was offered but the front desk people kept pushing us to speak to the manager the next day, which is unacceptable.

After multiple attempts, the only compensation offered was breakfast for the last two days, which does not make up for not receiving the room we paid for. Very poor handling and disappointing service.

Chateau Nova Yellowknife is located perfectly. 10 mins (driving) from the airport and 1 minute from downtown (3 mins walking).
The property is large, clean, friendly and hospitable.
The staff is excellent and so is the service.
I shall recommend it always.

It was a MAJOR inconvenience seeing as I was in a different building outside not connected to where all the service were. I had to change into all my winter clothes to walk across the snow to wear the main building was. However, suite was great! Brand new and had a washer and dryer which was amazing!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The property itself is very nice—clean, modern, and well-maintained. Our room was spacious, spotless on arrival, and overall quite comfortable.
However, we did face a couple of issues during our stay. Despite placing the “tidy up” sign outside every morning, our room was not cleaned even once. We mentioned it at reception, but the staff seemed extremely busy and some requests were forgotten. While the team is polite, they appear to be short-staffed or overwhelmed, which affects the guest experience.
Overall, it’s a lovely hotel with great potential, but improving housekeeping consistency and follow-up at reception would make stays much better.

The hotel changed my room last minute to a different building which was very inconvenient, then they tried to sell it to me as an upgrade because it had two bedroom suites. This was irrelevant because i was the only person staying there. Then after i checked out management charged my credit card for the cost of a new tv claiming that one of the TV's had multiple scratches on it and they needed to replace it. THey didn't have my authorization to do this nor did they have a conversation with me or send pictures of the damage or proof i did it (which i didn't). When i addressed this with them they decided to refund only part of the charges. I've had to file a complaint through my credit card company as they would not refund the whole amount. THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS

These are very comfortable apartments! We stayed three nights. The beds are very nice and the sheets are soft. The kitchenette is fully stocked except the things that were missing were: paper towels, a dishcloth, and scissors. You can walk to Walmart and the town. Note that the building is across a fair sized parking lot from the main hotel (chilly walk in winter, or ask shuttle driver). I bet it is lovely in the summer, overlooking small lake. We saw foxes coming down the hill behind our room. A nice stay!

The suite was lovely and cozy, the bed was very comfortable, the hotel and restaurant/lounge staff were friendly, the the food and drinks I enjoyed at The Quarry were fantastic. I'll definitely stay here again when I visit Yellowknife.

I had a family member medivacked to the hospital in Yellowknife so I booked a king room for myself . After hours of testing on my family member the hospital had said there were no rooms for the patient and had to go home . Then to return the next morning . The hotel was very accommodating and switched my room to queen beds on the ground floor close to the lobby since I was with an elder . I had to extend my stay for a few more nights and the staff were very understanding . Thank you for making the stay in Yellowknife comfortable
