Staff was understanding and accommodating. However I split the room with a friend. I had gone out for the night and when I came back the next night, I was rudely interrupted while I was in the shower and got kicked out and the authorities were called when I did nothing wrong at all. I was not notified about My 'former' friend, allegedly smoked in the room and was kicked out when I wasn't around during the incidents and I wasnt notified of panything that had happened by the staff or the friend.

Outdated rooms. Peeling paint. But room comes with microwave oven which is good. Housekeeping did not clean our room. We stayed for 3 nights. Front desk staff Gemma was excellent. Gave us tips on where to ho and where to eat.

The rooms were warm so that is a plus. There was paper towel and tape over a hole in the wall over the bed. Not sure what that was for but we liked it. The gym was ice cold and the treadmill not working properly. The staff seemed to not care to be there. The front desk was not very kind or polite but not rude.

Clean, warm, safe, basic accommodations. Located in the heart of downtown, so walking distance from everything. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The shuttle to/from the airport was great. Although breakfast was not included, the on-site restaurant \"Wing Freak\" was good.

A huge thank you to the team at the Nova Inn, especially the kind Fatima. I arrived back to YK after 48 hours + in transit, after midnight and no luggage, only to discover that in my jet-lagged brain I had booked the wrong day. Fatima, was kind, professional and empathetic dealing with my \"not best self\". She booked me another room quickly and even made sure that the room would be quiet. I did not have enough energy at that moment to thank her or to say how grateful I was, but it did not go unnoticed. I appreciated the kindness very much. The room was great, clean and quiet. The staff in the morning were equally professional and kind.

Good value. The room was clean. Courteous staff. Good location, close to restaurants, grocery store, the Tourism Infocenter, and it is at walking distance from Old Town and museums. The local transit bus runs very often on the same street. Would be nice if the carpets were newer.

Nova Inn is in a very convenient location, just outside the downtown core; taking less than 30 minutes to walk to the old town. The Inn is not luxurious, but is spacious and clean. There is only one restaurant in the hotel, but there are other restaurants nearby, within a few minutes walk. The only con I can think of is the portable air conditioner provided in the room, which was so loud that we had to turn it off during the night.

This was my 2nd visit to Yellowknife. The Nova Inn staff and facilities completely redeemed my opinion of the city. My first stay at one of the downtown competitors was horrible. I was pleasantly suprised when I arrived very late and was checked into a large, clean and well appointed room for lodging. Definitely recommended.

Choose the staff wisely

You may get one of the nicest and helpful staff, while you may also get staffs who just do not want you in the premise so they don’t need to work. If you could chose, go for the younger (or newer) staff who are more motivated to do their job and not refusing to find out what they are supposed to do

Please get your staffs trained up properly

There are few things this hotel needs to improve on and the staff behaviour will be the top priority. Some of them are helpful and knowledgeable enough to know what their role is, some are seriously lacking on understanding what their role is. Some of staffs, especially those at the front office and security team, are not at all interested in serving customers; they are only interested for you to go away and not “bother” them. Nor they are keen on finding out what their job should be.

Room Deposit Deducted

I was deducted 100$ from my deposit because of blood stains. My grandson was staying with me and he let some people while I was out. They got into a fight and there was blood stains on the edge of the door frames. A towel was blood stained. There was no damaged to the room. I was charged a 100$ because the staff had to wipe off the blood stain and wash the stain towel. I told management that workers wipe down rooms anyway and wash the towels and linen. It was to no avail and 100$ was deducted from my damaged deposit. End of story. I will not go back to this hotel unless I have no other choice....thank-you.
