The room was clean. However the last time it was decorated was in the 60’s. Shower leaked all over bathroom floor. Asked for a second blanket and we were heavily questioning. How many people are in your room? Why do you need an our blanket? If you steal the blanket, we will charge you.

I was hoping for a better experience for the amount I paid for this room. The young gal checking me the night was very sweet but I got the feeling the room I was in does not get used very often. It did have a mini-fridge and microwave but the fridge was not plugge in or pre-cooled. There was no remote so I called down to the front desk and she brought one back for me and she programmed the TV but I didn't realize the power button and volume control buttons did not work until after she left but I figured it wasn't that big of a deal. The A/C sounded like a jet engine coming through my room. When I went to wash my face, it was rusty water out of the faucet so I had to let it run just a bit. The continental breakfast was coffee and orange juice. I booked this online so was lead to believe it would be better accommodations. Will not stay here again.

The place was dirty. The hallway was dark I had to use my phone flashlight to put key in the door. Also no light in bathroom where toilet and shower was. There was people in parking lot having a little party (loud). And the advertisement said continental breakfast but No breakfast just coffee.

The price was great. However, the room was way below standards. American Inn has a great reputation and how this motel made the cut to be an American Inn is beyond me. Bathtub and toilet area is dated and has repair patch that was not done properly. The room actually smelled and I bought air freshener to spray in the air conditioner and room which did help. The entry door is way too complicated and I had to have assistance to figure out how it worked. Put card in, pull it out, pull knob twice to get door open. The \"amenities\" in the bathroom were in a red plastic dish used by some fast food restaurants. One shampoo and three conditioners. I don't get to Boone that often but will try very hard to NOT have to stay there again. Bed was fine, restaurant attached was Mexican (being from Arizona, I didn't bother to eat there). I didn't use the internet. Parking was good with easy access to the highway and downtown area.

It was clean and the A/C worked. Pool was closed on hottest days of June. Sign said \"Closed for the winter\", which tells me they weren't ambitious enough to get it ready by the middle of June. No breakfast, just coffee and juice. I had to turn on the coffee in our second day there. Nice people running the place, but just doing what they have to at this time.

When you turrn on the bathroom light it flickers until it comes on shutting the bathroom door is hard to shut housekeeping comes by every other day the heater did not work the tv was dark to watch shows and when the housekeepers came by early you ask them to come back later but would not do it

Website states that the front desk is open 24/7, lobby door locks at 9:00 PM.

Went to shower in the morning and the light in the shower room did not work. Turned on the shower and the shower stream was abysmal. Less than a garden hose stream. It wasn't strong enough to even wash the cleanser off of my face. When I told the front desk at check out the only response I got was that the room was used the prior day and everything was \"just fine\" as if I was lying about it, or had something to do with it.

Don't waste your money, find somewhere else to stay. I tried to add pictures but the app wouldn't allow them to be added.

Its an older smaller place but the rooms are Very clean and comfortable and the staff/owners are very friendly! I had to move my college freshman home and it was also graduation at ISU so Ames was super expensive and this was conveniently close to campus and much less cost! Would happily stay again when i head back on parents weekend in the fall

The property is older, but fairly well maintained. However, the bathroom fan was banging against the edge so you would hear a constant clang clang clang when it was on. The water flow in the bathroom sink was ridiculously low and made it very difficult to try to clean up. Also, there was never any cups in the room, making it tough to brush your teeth or take pills. There was a strong smell of Curry throughout the lobby and the hallways from the lobby. There is also no breakfast at the facility. For the little bit of money I save staying here, it was offset by the need to go and purchase a light breakfast elsewhere.

First when we arrived the desk clerk was asleep on the couch in the lobby. Next I asked about the pool that was listed when I booked and she said it was closed for the winter…it was an indoor pool and it was October 4. Then when we got up in the morning for the continental
Breakfast that was advertised there was nothing and the clerk was asleep again on the couch. I hope someone will make this right or shut that place down.

I was not too fond of the fact that there was an old throw-up stain on the carpet and blood splatter on the wall as if someone had been shot up in the room. The fridge and microwave weren't plugged up and working, the tub drain was slow to drain (clogged). The bedding was old and torn in some areas.

When I showed up on Friday they booked me into a dirty room and then move me to another room that had no towels why do I said that the pool was open and then the following day they said nope it's close for the season because it's not heated they refuse to give me a refund and I want a refund now this was a horrible place they also had six cockroaches in the hotel room. I asked for more towels at 10:00 at night and she said no they are right there you aren't getting anymore

The check in process was quick and easy. The female clerk that checked us in was very nice and friendly. The room was clean but the bed was extrememly uncomfortable. The check out process was very odd. The door to the lobby was locked so we had to ring a buzzer and when the clerk finally answered, he was rude and unhelpful.

Very basic, everything pretty warn-out and old looking. However, they did have all amenities like fridge, microwave… coffee and packaged sweets in the lobby in AM. Despite being old and worn, it did appear clean. We thought the bed was very comfortable. We felt safe and things were quiet all night. I would stay here again - although I think it was overpriced for the age of property.

I don't like stairs and I was placed on the third floor. The shower didn't drain properly. It just seemed like a $50 dollar room that I was charged $90 for. It was clean! No coffee service or even a drinking glass in the room. On the room key it says to drop off the key. There was no drop box.

I had a very comfortable stay. The desk clerks were friendly and helpful, as was the owner. Our room was cleaned daily and coffee and juices were available 24 hrs a day.
The refrigerator and microwave in our room worked great. The only thing missing was \"No Breakfast\"...but there was a McDonalds and a Dairy Queen across the street.

Friendly and helpful staff. Dated hotel and could benefit from a remodel, but beds were comfortable and room was clean. The disappointing part of our stay - pool is closed indefinitely, no breakfast or even coffee stating due to Covid, but no attempt at a grab and go bag as other hotels are doing. At this point most hotels have restarted regular breakfast services - so I do not feel Covid can be used as an excuse anymore. Their price is too high without these amenities! Another thing we thought was kinda funny - room key card has printed 20% off your purchase at the local Burger King so we thought of grabbing a Whopper after a long day of driving - the place has closed! Bonus though - hotel is attached to a Mexican restaurant which has great food and margaritas!

This place was cozy and very clean and comfortable for the price. It is dated so if you are looking for a spiffy updated marble bathroom, this isn't it. Bath sink has chips and same with Tub but everything worked just fine again for the price! It's perfect for an overnight stay though if you are on a budget. Worked great for me!

It was convenient to the Boone Scenic Railroad, the Speedway and downtown. The facilities were clean and basic. The pool was unusable, it was freezing cold. And usual COVID issues cancelled breakfast. It served our purposes for a brief overnight stay. Stay was friendly and helpful.
